For a long time, I did this work quietly.

Build the thing.
Fix the problem.
Hold the meeting.
Write the grant.
Run the event.
Move on to the next fire.

That worked… until it didn’t.

Because when you’re building community (real community) the story matters as much as the outcome. And too much of what actually happens behind the scenes never gets talked about: the risk, the mess, the why, the moments where things almost don’t work and then somehow do.

So I’m building this in public.

I run a digital radio station and podcast network. I work with small businesses, artists, farmers, students, nonprofits, and town leaders. I help run markets, events, programs, and partnerships that look simple from the outside and are anything but on the inside.

This Substack is where I’m putting all of it in one place.

Not polished press releases.
Not highlight reels only.
Not “everything is fine” energy.

You’ll find:

What’s actually happening in Mashpee as I see it and around the Cape too

What it takes to build farmers markets, media, and local economies

Stories of people doing the work quietly and consistently

Lessons from leadership, burnout, rebuilding, and trying again

Occasional hot takes when something needs to be said out loud

If you care about local business, community, creativity, or how places stay alive- you’re in the right place.

If you’ve ever wondered how things actually get built… welcome in.
