what saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I really Su at book CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual just had a visual proud of it well lucky you it is our first show back in the studio first fresh month of July washing away June you know what because it was musty down here I haven't been down here like 20 days it's a romantic radio tone and visual it's that full-on basement smell you know how like when the the summer happens and all of a sudden the humidity is just so gross out we had our um farmers market yesterday we had a small window before the crazy weather happened I was gonna say and we got it in good so that happened like everybody was happy everybody sold out let's get the heck out of here as soon as we were packed up and moved to hyas that's when the torrential downpour began I was watching on the Weather Radar Radar yesterday and like wow it was my daughter's first day at the melody tent I dropped her off at the tent and then total like Po like the sky open onter I'm like bye you'll be under that tarp for a hot minute enjoy work yeah I think I saw a report in the 20 minutes an inch and a half of range it was insane yeah crazy and I go I was getting texts from all my Farmers good thing we packed it up good thing I'm like I planned it I looked at the weather report I took a screenshot of the weather report I posted it on social media to the point where one of the guys over at knockabout was like where'd you make that infographic up I was like that's real I didn't make it up little precipitation I know we got a window let's do it perfect I I saw photos from your long table long table is great the Hest business improvement district did a wonderful job Elizabeth worth Bane and crew uh I I'm guessing I think I R the Cape Cod time 600 people attended that dinner really nice the weather was perfect absolutely perfect I know I saw all of the great amazing photos I had a friend I think at every single different table every single different restaurant wonderful AB wonderful the the setups the displays and since I work at the chamber at the JFK Museum um I see the setup during the day the five or six hours or even more in some cases just the setup let alone the food prep uh you're transferring a restaurant literally a mile away outside right on in on a summer's day yeah on Main Street on a Hot Tar but this is what we do we're kid Cod it's it's it was amazing just to see and congratulations to all the restaurants who participated all you on the show giving us updates and uh here we are July I know what happened Father's Day car show looked amazing I haven't received the full full numbers yet but estimates were 50 to 60,000 people all together for the um it was just just crazy just it was like it took me from Sea Street to the Village Green but almost an hour to walk Street it was just no full of people trolling along so to speak and I'm not even complaining though um we were away we got back on Friday and I was like oh great going over the bridge 5:00 P pm on a Friday there was no traffic yeah not an ounce of traffic they're already here they're right here there's day there Boston another story like we had to stop halfway through leaving Boston because it was an absolute bleep show but um for getting onto the Cape not a soul cruised right over the bridge I was like oh okay we the blue lights following your help yeah right listen Marty yes they were welcoming us back with open arms to Cap Cod when we they're like leave Europe please go we've had enough of you people Logan Airport escort State Police get out get her out of here I don't want to see her again no we definitely had a really good time awesome um my kids were so ready to come home they were they were over it we did eight countries in 20 days that's amazing yeah living out of a suitcase and backpack and back backpacks all of us had backpack that's good actually I got on the scale yesterday I lost 10 pounds wow I think it's just from carrying the backpack and doing 20,000 steps a day because it didn't stop me from eating everything in my wake chocolate fried food like you name it we ate it it wasn't a problem but the amount of physical activity was absurd how was the food amazing with our preservatives and everything we had I didn't have one issue I ate fullon pasta dinners and then went to sleep not a problem come home I have a sandwich I have harburn like what why contaminants guys we need to talk about our food it's really a problem yes I yes I get police escort and a came called royalty card thank you very much Rick no we really did have a good time a lot of stuff but I have that stupid Barbara rhubarb oh song stuck in my head the minute we hit somewhere around H at Prague was when I started hearing the accents and what Melting Pot that part of the world is from Czech Republic or czechia it is now to Budapest Slovakia that whole area is just a mishmash of every language you could possibly I didn't know what anyone was speaking at any point like to hear I like to hear pronounce correctly Budapest yeah yes Budapest well I we really enjoyed it we enjoyed the B um that was really awesome we had quite a day there and uh just the amount of History it's really difficult to come back to the land of CVS's and Dunkin Donuts after you've seen all these and as Josh raises is dunking at me like not just on the side of the road you know even and even there un unhoused people are are living in massive amounts of History uh which by the way they get treated very well over there uh it just a different vibe altogether many people any radio stations that you detect anything we stopped over in a few and I really did love the ones in Belgium I I dig French radio I don't know what it is but I don't know what they're they're doing but they're doing it well and I just it's a Vibe you have the EI of Technology you could just do translation just make this all French one day out the morning crew here we don't need to do that hello Emily thank you for holding down the fort while we were gone everything ran everybody showed up where they needed to show up and things were were done so you did a great job Emily kudos to you um so you had Father's Day car show you've got the long table that's done your summer is still not over I feel like it's just begun but it's also over I feel like Fourth of July is this weird it's over it's but even though it's just begun there's a lot going on barnable alone but looking at the cap cot times today fireworks unfortunately barnable can't have the fireworks because of the clovers the endangered species I'm not I'm not mad about it I don't really like fireworks I mean I like fireworks but then my dogs flip out and then like there's like the PTSD veteran friends of mine that really are just like not in for the fireworks can we do better with some laser light shows or something you know it's one thing having the Fourth of July fireworks but they have them like last night it's like rehearsal every night now until last was Friday you know but that's you know yeah I know but just people at home doing their fireworks right now yeah one in the morning two in the morning they weren't that bad because I was I must have been so exhausted I slept through them I didn't hear them I I woke up I asked my son did you go to the fireworks he's like Mom I said goodbye to you I'm like you did and I wasn't dra I'm like I was not impaired I was just exhausted there was a flask if the empty I'm not sure that's so I've been good about that little scant amounts of wine here and there the beer in Germany way way better than the beer here uh I I gotta say I mean some of our local breweries are fantastic but there's something about the German beers maybe it's just the quantity it could be it's it's in liters right not not ounces well my son and my son and my daughter could be served there so it wasn't they they both ordered them my son had two sips of beard and he was like this is disgusting you people drink this which I said absolutely it's gross you never need to have it again right meanwhile not the same it wasn't a me too moment for my 18-year-old she was very much enjoying herself my first time in Germany when I was um 10 I had this beer dark beer yeah which I thought was root beer half a beer later like was the quter I was swaying it was it was full beer full alcohol so was my my first beer buzz at 10 10 years old there you go Mar training can I say well you're fluent in German right I really could have used you a little bit um we actually connected with my former German oair she met us in PR I was really really excited um Marie Trace was so happy to see it was weird to see her as a grownup but I mean she still like my two kids couldn't get enough of her was really really funny especially weird since Lily was five and Cody was only like three the last time they saw her um so lot's changed right it was just really it was cool for her to sit next to where the two of them had a beer and Marie Tre still had a Coke that's she brought over Coke and chocolate because that was her two favorite things being in America she was allowed to have all of it makes one feel young it was very cool uh to connect with them for sure and uh we were close to catching up with our Turkish j1s but uh timing just didn't happen for us so it was just nice to know that when you've got people that come and stay with you here on the cape uh if you've ever taken in a jwan or had them to know that these people are part of your life forever like literally it was just really cool to have that connection when we were over there and using Whatsapp yeah I it's annoying but whatever it's a an ability to connect with everyone wherever you are regardless of your phone service so that's nice lot of J1 here used the same yeah right so do you ever get to flex your German in in regular life last weekend I was in the cat skills so yes I get practice Yeah there a German in the Cairo and hundra Mountain are I get chance to that's fun yes it's it's tough though some some some folks of the JFK Museum the past week some tourist came in I was able to help little you're like I can help it's all good does somebody need me especially if they talk if anybody complains I'm like wait a minute they say something wait a minute I know what you're talking about that's awesome so yeah we've got Fourth of July coming up this week uh we're the fireworks where are people going what's happening in barnable there's so much going on I have a three-page press release but everything basically is on h.com all right perfect that's a quick snippet parades are great we are the barns is having their second summer fireworks that's going to be on let see September 1st okay at Louis Bay so we'll be having fireworks that evening well that is like livability index for 2024 which evaluates cities worldwide for their livability the the criteria basically livability stability Healthcare culture and environment education and infrastructure notice affordability is not that's definitely not especially when you hear number one for the third year in a row Vienna Austria ranked as the world's best city to live and I've always wanted I gotta tell you we it's very busy it is a lot they have it reminded me very much of The Hunger Games because everything is in districts um so but there are city blocks of fullon apartment buildings like seven stories high of just people that live very well together they're um transportation is incredible I mean incredible and everything's on the honor System which I really love you buy your little ticket and um they don't really check in to make sure it's valid or whatever it's just like it's just but people do it you know what I mean it's P's watching you follow well yeah there's cameras absolutely everywhere 100% but it is a nice place to live expensive um but definitely a Melting Pot of places I definitely agree that Vienna is a place we love salsburg oh my God always wanted to go we did The Sound of Music Tour I was living my best Julie Andrew's life God I want to live there are you doing a rendition of that before the show ends maybe maybe little do me you guys ready for this but it's not I'm not surprised that Vienna's up there just because it's clean it's organized and they seemingly do a really good job of housing people which hopefully happens here got we've got to relinquish a lot of I don't know I don't know what it is we got some big bad attitudes about it yes we can make this a political talk we are not making this a political talk show because being in another country and having the debate happen and you have no idea how many people on random Subways trains and buses wanted to have a conversation with us about American politics and I was like no why I don't want to talk about it this quite a show and my kids were like what you GNA say yeah what you gonna say Mom and I just pointed over this is her first year voting this is my daughter's first time segue voting oh absolutely I pointed fingers other places prism people I'm not talking about it I can't she's got a fresh new attitude and no bad habits ask her long as you point the right finger the other place that's it it was just pointer fingers pointer fingers well that could be distinguished differently depending upon I don't know I didn't know what country I was in and what I was supposed to be doing and what was customary and what was bad how to tip here there was one when I was in Budapest I didn't even know what the money was a forign I don't know what that is or what that 365 to one I felt like I was playing with Monopoly money everything was in the thousands I felt like I was breathing into a paper bag where they were like it's $8,000 I was like how much is that my husband's like 42 it's $42 we're okay what would we do without these smartphones any I don't know we be lost I have no idea so Boston ranked in there Vienna was number one sorry I got derailed because I was actually Boston number seven Miami number eight San Francisco number nine and Minneapolis Minnesota number 10 that's some place I've never been Minnesota I don't like the accent after we Fargo probably you want go there anyway there's something about it I literally when I was in the military was not friends with a Glazer I'm so sorry I just didn't like him based on his accent I couldn't take his Minnesota accent it bothered me so so much meanwhile I Boston's accent is disgusting I get it we have this thing some lady asked me if we were from Ireland oh my God like is that what a Massachusetts sounds like to a forer but then you can have to distinguish from Northshore Southshore Rivia Dorchester it's Bren down everywhere Brockton is it own and I'm from adabor so it's like a mix of Rhode Island and Massachusetts it's not good or New Port but apparently to someone from Germany it sounds as if we're Irish so I will take it leave us alone Germany itself has many different dialects and accents and different layers of of German too very much so and we went from from Berlin to um Munich to Frankfurt where we got by the way the European soccer matches are occurring where we are imagine how popular they're over there it's psychotic imagine any you if you went to the Celtics parade imagine that in every single country in Europe the roar was so loud and deafening it was terrifying when we got to Frankfurt and then they cancelled our train because they were worried about riots wow so they basically were like no you're stuck here I said I have a flight to Dublin tomorrow at 9:00 am no I'm not stuck here get me out of here they sent us to Cologne we got to Cologne we go outside we see this magnanimous church outside and then there's they're like oh we'll give you a taxi or something they're going to give me a taxi to Brussels to there's no you're giving me a taxi to Brussels then all the people started rolling up that needed a taxi to Brussels and they ended up sending us our own private train that was full of garbage wow great one of those barges it was literally full of garbage so we were on a three-hour Train full of garbage to Brussels and which we left the train in Brussels and there was police activity I don't know if you know much about Brussels but think of Washington DC times 11 the amount of crime drug crime so we get dumped in Brussels um where they speak there they have three national languages French German and um Dutch and they do not like speaking um English they refuse to talk to you if you speak English and that's the only one we know I got a little Spanish I got a little Portuguese and that's about it so Siri Google translate help right this guy was silent I took a silent taxi ride as we passed about seven city blocks with active police crime scenes happening and my kids are like I've never seen a teen you want a teenager to snuggle you that's how you get one like terrifying Stephanie stars and cops then I'm like starting to Google all of the drug crime that's there apparently that's like a huge there's like different gangs and all kinds of whatever I I had no idea the things you do not know when you think of Brussels and you think a man from Brussels because you're thinking I come from a land down under for men at work you know this is this is my knowledge of Brussels not great wow you should have a video blog next time what a Blog that would be no that would have been terrifying you be trending like crazy oh my God good or bad it it was a lot I'll tell you that a lot um so what else is going on in hyenas we've got our fireworks that are coming up that's fast fous this week and then what a lot of tourists in town crazy but I've noticed a lot of friends yourself included went over to Europe this summer and are planning to go to Europe this summer so a lot of folks are traveling we're meeting a lot of tourists uh from Germany from Japan from China England Canada um down south a lot of bus tours are active right now too a lot of seniors coming up that's very busy the bus tours are very busy too um our Visitor Center in the Village Green is open every day 10 to 4 you do a really good job of Manning that by the way yes we've got a great staff there that works there Nancy Barbara Moren does a great job there so yeah if you need any anything they're they're pointing you in great directions and I think henus is looking pretty good right now it's doing really well everything looks great we're busy the restaurants are open uh they're staffed uh we're ready to go you know it's just it's been a a challenge in itself getting to where we were after Co we don't top of Co now you know it's been a it's been a growing growing pattern again try yesterday was a big day by the way bamboo opened their buffet for the first time since 2020 and it was a big day I saw T and John post about it and then of course I dropped my daughter off of the melody T I'm like let's do it let's go it's very the amount of people that were lined up for this Buffet God that has been closed for four years some guy was like I've been waiting four years for this for a Chinese buffet okay but people were thrilled hey it's a good deal I think it's $28 it was a big day in hius yesterday everybody for buffets and Rain what else are you gonna do exactly but it was perfect because we ate there and then we went shopping at BJ so we felt less compelled to just buy everything in our very empty house that we left behind I didn't realize you were gone 20 days well our j1s were here and they uh they did a really good job holding down the fort although um they were afraid to throw out our fruit so we came home to a massive amount of fruit flies no one wanted to be uh popping into a remote broadcast down here by chance Matt ptis says Matt Marty and Stephanie 2024 I'll run the campaign for you guys I feel as if that needs to happen because whatever is happening um I'll be the vep you run the show I don't know if even though I was questioning his attire well Doug is always hiding in a shell anyway so no matter what happens he's productive right it's all good excellent you're pi on his attire I'm not I just I was questioning I just you don't see Paul in less than formal outfits very often well that's good it was good summer ex absolutely so when I saw it I was like oh look at him good for him absolutely letting his not hair down yeah he's been all over the place he's been very busy with the bridge uh cap C Coalition and stuff too also very busy traveling a lot of stuff going on yeah you gentlemen to the barnow county fair and um lemon Ado is hosting the Demolition Derby this year so I am very excited to be back at the booth I talked to cat Wilson she may or may not be popping by if you remember she won herself a demolition derby it really is probably the biggest highlight that I have and most memorable day of the fair for my family especially my kids remember it from they were little little little uh so we'll be there tossing out some Chach keys and checking in with you and of course being live in the action tossing not hurling demolition derby not hurling not curling oh it's this guy I don't like at him none of that stuff bean bag attached we're no God no it's a cornhole thing just throw them at with with the logo Bean no we are not DJing at the feris Cindy although I could probably arrange that if you would really like to we'll figure it out we got a few fun events happening at the mash B farmers market we've got our wing Fest which I'm thrilled for uh we've got a fantastic gentleman coming down from Boston who has scientifically figured out how to put real butter into his hot wi sauce so it's this like Emulsion it's he's actually a classically French trained cook and he got it to emulsify the butter so it's not corn syrup it's not it's like actual real butter hot wing sauce and I'm so frakin excited for you to be able to try this beer and wings July 28th knockabout beer garden inside the mash B Commons definitely set aside that day for for yourself carve it off it's going to be a good one put butter in your coffee who does that that's that was a thing like two years ago yeah it still is not for me I no God no I have enough problems I don't need butter in my cof paret girl right you know it was really nice to have real butter and real actual food from real ingredients when I was in uh overseas uh for a little while so I I told you I came home and immediately got heartburn it was thought it was not great the food is different the Wine's different the beers are different absolutely it's amazing need to get to that so for the baronville county fair you can be doing the Barber's Barbera dance no I'm not you have got time to rehearse it Marty I don't dance anymore I'll break something have tequila you'll be fine we'll get your elbow pads like a Rollo Derby you'll be fine yeah helmet we have held back the tide for for long enough the money that we lost stop it right now and and wedding parties how does one transition to high school show not well no not well at all I know you both you can keep it together and keep it clean for the most part but we're I I even have difficulty dejing for that group of kids because they're so Divergent in their tastes their liking their humor we want to hear songs from fortnite like we want to hear the Tik Tok song H how do you even speak their language you all list to right oh man that was terrible right how many high school shows did you do uh we did we did we did two in one night yeah two in one night because uh they did like graduation lock-ins I guess like in the past years like people like kids after graduation would go out and get hammered and then get in car accidents or whatnot yeah so they'd had lockin at the school they were still hammered um yeah a lot of kids got arrested before the second to and they said yeah if you could not mention that and then they mentioned it on stage and said some of your fellow students got arrested give up for AJ hey Ben like oh my god really this is how I'm coming out all right then we what did they think when they told you that as comedians you know that that's the first thing that you're going to say you can't not it's just in your nature they they didn't hire us to be comedians they hired us to be babysitters because like we're in a we're in a room with like 200 kids and all the adults left like stop it right now and they're like oh I can't I can't believe I can't I don't even know what the language that they speak anymore I like that that gaming garbage they speak Hubble double it really is I honestly don't even it's brain rot it is spewing brain rot is what they have how do you verbally speak emojis I don't know but they do but yeah the all right so we did a a 12 pm show in York Maine and then a 3 a.m. show in Windam New Hampshire okay and same material you're like we're just gonna go again call it that yeah so did you just basically do a lot of crowd work it's hard to do crowd work so kid what do you do for the work just like mocking them I don't know any of you guys got kids right so so I wented to get my proctology exam the parent jokes aren't going to work for you there so awkward why did you say yes to this oh purely Financial yeah cuz we we lost so much money because of the Celtics and we had we had to do we we we we were desperate and I think even even even just despite performances I thank the schools for just giving us work oh well thank you're like thank you schools we appreciate you know you'll never going to have us back but we appreciate yeah and I don't blame you we know we deserve that thanks for paying the bills first of all I would never agree to go back to either of these schools I would go back to the York one uh that was a dope show they let me they let me get away with a lot and they were listening um because like a lot of the kids in the front row had their shoes off as said is this school run by Dan Schneider I had a much different experience with the kids in the front row at this show sorry AJ you wna you want to yeah so so Josh was asking as a Jewish man what do you think I do for a living and one of the kids yelled out killing kids in Gaza what yeah no well that that starts off for an interesting comedy so that's why Josh wouldn't go back to York and that's why I would go back to York but it's like it's a school like if if if it's a comedy show I could really just crap all over the kid and yeah put if I do that AJ's not getting paid the other comic we have on the I I had to I had I had to reel it in a little bit keep but they're just children say dumb things all the time I was very proud of myself for keeping keep it composed I'm more proud of the the the times that I didn't flip out on someone then I am the times that I did exactly Sigma whatever the other stupid things that they say in their new vernacular of words I have no idea just Sigma man B baby Gro just just be gigachad at least my son's not so bad he didn't drop a lot of that stuff although when I started saying it at him he really didn't like it he just shook his head no Mom like when I asked him if I'm I paid the Phantom tax and he was like never say that to me why did you say that I was like I don't know I was trying to speak your language is that what you kids say I don't know I've become that Mom just like man he got clapped what oh that's no so what have you guys got lined up for July since uh J June sounded really awful uh let's see I'm I'm ex I'm excited to see Marty speak German again um he dropped not one ounce of German on us I was trying well listen Stephy it's because he wasn't allowed to wear his uniform today was made by look like she's going to be competing in the break dancing I I actually want to see that very much I would very much enjoy that otherwise I've got to shout out to the henus yacht club who threw down over the weekend at their Casino event those girls they got low they got low I was not expecting that from that crowd but it got a little wild towards the end of the night so thank you for that I enjoyed it thoroughly was not expecting it that's all unexpected right so um two gigs booked um the night that we returned when my husband and I said to him are you sure you want to book that we're literally coming from like no sleep in another time zone you that's later cliff and Stephanie problems yeah and I said okay that's problems for future right exactly and I I said that I said remember show and what goes into that because I mean it's so stressful you do so much work to try and get somebody there to then try and make them laugh I feel like it's a oh yeah exercise and some sort of we lost a lot of money in June because of the NBA finals and stuff being scheduled on the same day that we have shows and us having to cancel shows or there's so many tickets sold that it's not enough for us to cancel I have such respect for event planners coordinators promoters people that put these shows together because you don't know and especially like weatherwise what's going to happen you don't know what the tone of the day is going to happen what is happening in the world yeah that that was a big issue for us on on Thursday because we had both of those issues we did the uh we did shows at uh Off the Grid in Sandwich great show shout out to Off the Grid yeah great shows great venue but it rained a little bit in the morning so because because the forecast said rain which was 20 minutes in the morning we lost tickets but then also there was the other hilarious comedy show that was going on that night the debate yeah the debate no one was rushing home for that no one was rushing home for that I'm so glad I was in another time zone and it really just wasn't you like no I'm not gonna go to the show because one it says it's raining and I said first of all it's raining from 6:00 am. to 8 amm you're not even gonna be awake for when it's raining oh well I'm GNA watch the debate I'm like unfriend me now right yeah yeah unfriend me now because you are not fun and I don't like you and by the way you could have just DVR or whatever it is that you do I'm sure you can find that nugget of Wonder just watch the clips on YouTube whoever you want to say one just look if if you're a trump guy just look on the clips on Fox News who lost that debate was this country and that's all I have to say about it I don't know what the hell is I had no idea there were black jobs that you know what would essentially be like assaulted by the pro Palestinian crowd and any given moment to have an opportunity with that many people did what's his face ever find his ring by the way
