foreign I think our microphones are on and we're here all right hi there good morning I've got Amy Levitt joining us today every day everybody say good morning Amy good morning I know right oh lower yourself down things we learned here in the studio I just did mine too so uh yeah it's Monday I was having a real tough tough go of it and then I realized the freaking Barnstable County Fair is over and I didn't even get there well I didn't have a choice because it's in my front yard so I've been fighting traffic all week long strategically planning how I'm going to extricate myself for my home and strategically planning on getting home honestly that doesn't help I know all the back roads I know all the other ways but now with Waze everybody else does also thanks thanks friends and there was an incident a few incidents at the fair where people were not behaving their best selves I'll have to say that uh there was a SWAT team that was called somebody was arrested there with like Sheriff showed up with long guns I'm like seriously oh yeah and my son even when he was there on wristband day I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday where the he videotaped a fight between teen girls that went on far too long and I was why when did we stop learning how to behave in regular life right thank you you did and I'm glad it's about dang time thank you Miss Amy so Amy tell everybody what it is that you do and why you have a tape measure around your shirt and why you're wearing a shirt that says for the worst I love it they really are is that true if you've ever worn one you know it's terrible that's right I I help women get bra I love it no wires brows are bad for us let's face it yeah they're uncomfortable and nasty so I carry my uh my tape measure wherever I go because you never know when a woman is in need of ditching her bra yeah right well and yes we can't have nice things this correct Serafina and good morning Sethi Spice from elastic Glam Cape cod's only Glam Rock show that we play here on lemonadeio on the weekends Friday night Saturday morning so that the UK gets to be able to enjoy it at a normal time for them I know right so you all encompassing we're here for you you want to throw your bras out the window you go right ahead and do so Amy's going to show you how several easy steps okay first the measuring the measuring it is important to measure because you know you know wrong yeah right how many times have you been you know like you can't stand it because it's Gap it's gapping here or it's bulging over here or the wire is stabbing you my favorite is the double boob getting over anything we just want comfort and you don't even feel like you're wearing anything yeah right right but you're still lifted yeah right still support it doesn't matter so I only need four measurements four okay your band your bust your waist and your hips that's it and I can find I can find magic for you I love your shapewear is what it is and I have two pieces that I rotate and they are my magic moments I have no like side back fat bra fat Lumpy's like oh where's my things I gotta slide that thing on that's right you're important shoulders do you stand up straight or what when you have to go back to either wearing nothing or putting on a nasty bra you're going ah it hurts I know yeah and then the digging in of the shoulders forget it horrible I am your gift I love well you look like a gift today thank you for always sparkling when she walks into a room Amy has just this magical style that I really enjoy and you're always so put together to the nines glistening when she walks in well it's my sparkly hair yes I love it she's got some uh tinsel hair I've got a feather in my hair we're ready to go for this day awesome so fun so you got to go participate in a conference recently did I was in hotlanta uh I love a good Atlanta trip yeah like AC inside please thanks double yeah we need to actually get outside too much we were at the CNN Omni Hotel it was really good it was really nice there um yes so I got to I was on the stage I was in a panel I was actually talking about helping women get soft to fit them do you ever get nervous when you're in a big room like that let me just tell you so I've been helping women for seven years doing this yeah and it was my first time that I was invited to be a panelist and so I got up there and I said all right I'm just putting it out there I had my phone with my notes I said this is the first time in seven years that I'm up on the stage without those things yeah nervous and they all clapped and then I was like so I could just like okay sit in my seat yeah I like that you do um Amy is wonderful she's a local sandwich business maker you've been doing this sort of um online digital business since the beginning of when it was ever done I was the grandmother of the internet in 1994. I love this the grandmother of the internet yes yes and you also which I really love were very raw and open fairly recently about a not win it was a moment where you were very vulnerable about a space that you were in for your business and I really I I loved that you shared that yes it's wonderful you have to be transparent ly I just most of the years that I've been with this company I've earned these incentive trips and they're all expense paid and it's all fabulous and this year I didn't I missed and that's okay because I thought about all the thousands of women who I've helped and who I'm just having fun I'm just having fun sharing so while I didn't get on that I've I've done other things and you know it's okay well that is the important thing to celebrate here as I worked with baby businesses yesterday at our Makers Market and there some of these people have never done a market before have never put themselves in their business space out there to see if it's gonna work or fly and to watch them throw themselves out there and do it and succeed and have a really good day doing it is wonderful but it's those back end days where you need to be reminded that you need to do all the hard work before you get to those fun moments to celebrate and I love the fact that you did that and starting out your speech where you're at this fabulous conference and you're like guys I'm afraid but that not only made you feel better it made them feel better of course because if there were other people that want to get out and try something new and come here and you know be online and be in the air you know yeah out there nervous I always get nervous yeah you get nervous I I don't I I do in front of regular crowds here I miss my safe space it's just me and a camera and you so and and online people are not I don't feel the same as physical but sometimes I get nervous and when I have extra people or special people and I've got something that I really want to impress you know it does it still gets you every time even like PTO dances I'm like what if they hate me what if they're not gonna they're kids but I still get like very nervous at those moments because I want them to have a good time I'm the fun facilitator you're supposed to have a good time when we have when we get together and if you're not I take it personally like what am I doing wrong why are they not having fun some people are not just fun Stephanie and I have all these dialogues going on in my brain well we're doing this here's something that and I'm learning it's none of my business what they think of me that's hard to learn though just keep make it your mantra none of my business what you think it's so true like I don't I would have ever thought to wear a shirt like this to be out there and have other people say it you know and I questioned is it the right thing to do should I wear this shirt like you know what it's your business yeah it's none of my business it's none of my business what other people think of me that's it it is true it's true it's a hard lesson to learn though and it's not easy to digest it's not easy it is not easy and there might be some people out there going what in the world is she doing I love that though it's a talking point Kelly thank you so much for joining us this morning she said let some people um just be sticks in the mud you're just gonna let him be there and as much as I want to pull that stick out of the mud I can't do that for everybody nope it's got to be what it is so here you are presenting on this big stage to people in your industry I find it very difficult to talk with people in my own industry I had a great conversation I had breakfast on Saturday with another person that is in a similar space as me and uh just going over our wins and losses and like what we're stressing about which was really nice but it's good to do that yeah totally playing in the same what is it the same sandbox I guess I can't find people that are playing in your sandbox yeah of course it is nice and and while yes we could be competition we're not really but at the same time I'm okay with talking with people in competition with me they don't feel the same way but I'm okay with that also because they're their worst critics they criticize you of the minutia of things that you wouldn't even think that someone would criticize you for and you have to be right what Amy said just let them think how they think that's it people and and Broad ditching helpers that's so fun so it's good yeah did you learn new ways to talk to people or connect with people or why yeah what it's not for me yes don't get me wrong I love the money but it's we all have to be paid a livable wage that I see somebody who experiences whether they've got the back pain or the shoulder pain and I'm not making any medical claims at all correct that we do that this is what no but if you're there to make somebody feel better it's like I put a Band-Aid on it oh it feels better good I helped you a little today that's it look how that shirt looks on me yeah you know you know self-confidence get out there hey that's what I do that said if you make someone's space brighter you know you know in my eyes because somebody else's I'm a crier I cry at the most ridiculous things I tell people Charlotte's Web yeah I was you know this big I'm a hugger and I'm a crier I'm a hugger and a crier I don't know why but I do it all the time I just experience Joy and Pain a lot like I'm just very sensitive in that space so I really absorb other people's energy so when I'm in it I'm like oh God it's a lot and you know what at the conference we were talking about it's a good day when there's tears of happiness there's got to be tears of joy there's got to be tears you know sometimes there are tears of sadness but that's a good day yeah yeah Kelly says I get that a lot what in the world is she doing sorry I'm doing me and I'm okay with that also yeah I experienced that negativity recently when someone came into my space and it's it's palpable like I physically was like pushed away from them and I had another one of my friends say to me I felt the same thing so I just move I physically moved away from it yes because it you have to you have to protect yourself right there's nothing correct I'm excited me I'm not doing that yeah yeah I'm not sending you a picture of me after I've tried it on are you kidding okay like okay that's fine yeah that's also a skill as being okay to hear the word no sometimes it's tough to even say the word no as far as businesses go uh but hearing no is also crushing sometimes I know I said I've been grandma I loved it for that because it wasn't even about ditching your bras back in 1994. shoot I wish I knew about right it wasn't even around so I didn't have an option but you know I was doing things that people weren't people were I was shipping from a website my own website that I had and I was shipping across the country and there were people that would be like I I can't order from you I know you or and then I have people you know I'm shipping to people that I didn't even know right so delighted and then here Here Comes Amazon and you're like damn it it was me I did that first that's right that's right people like the internet what's the internet can you imagine that's a website and they'd come up to me like I don't want to know about this that's how people are approaching AI right now though and that's it it's right it we're there again with everything and um just as I'm learning all of how to manipulate video and audio and all this and my husband's like all right well you better get comfortable because uh two weeks we got VR to start with and I'm like wow but you have to do it it's the nature of things they progress and you have to go along with it right they're gonna say wow that's where I get excited whereas if I can teach people something or they get a good take away from the things that we're doing then awesome and you make it better than even more awesome cool I want to be involved that's it that's it whatever it is my space that I'm still growing right now it's a good space it is so I get to see happy faces and people doing really cool things in our community because that's what we're all about here at lemonadeio is just championing our community around us you got to participate in zip trip over uh last week Friday right yes that was fun I got up early here I am up again early out I'm just as excited I feel like that's the mark of success though I feel like the the sooner you get your day started and the more you're likely to get stuff going and I know it's hard to put right foot left foot especially on a Monday here we are like oh I don't want to do it and you fight with yourself internally as you're getting up and I feel like what if you practice the Gratitude if they gotta get to get up today and let's get to work floor today that's exactly it so you get to work and Amy's an early riser as am I well I did early that's okay too see me early early early when I watch your show early early from the comfort of my pillow yep yep exactly but I'm doing I'm telling myself it's time to get up yeah well I was sitting at my deck this morning 's out isn't it nice that early morning quietness yes it's like a beautiful still it's like you and the birds and just a little bit of Harmony it's nice my cat usually ruins it for me with some sort of hacking noise or something somebody bothers me I'm like oh man all right let's go do that couple of minutes without my dog because he he wants to go in then he wants to go out then he wants to go in here and listen to the birds and sip my coffee or whatever I'm doing and so I got some of that this morning it is a good moment Kelly no she can't actually give you boobs to need a bra for her good morning Dave agner hi Doug aren't you boys here for this great conversation that's a good thing because you don't have to have them to be lifted up I can help you do that too see she could make it look like you got a little bit more there yep yep stop making any promises Rock the flag cue cups yeah I'm I don't know what that is but see we're putting it all together here so how was that with the with the zip trip it's I feel like that's a nice celebration of the town that you're in and Amy does not she's so involved in the Chamber of Commerce you do a lot of activities within the town which I think is wonderful odd chamber had attendant I have friends there too and it was just fun being out there there were lots of dogs that were walking around with their you know their families and and then it got really really crowded yeah but it was fun it was really fun well something it's like something's happening over here what's happening over there I don't even know but I need to be a part of it I know I Like the Way Sandwich rolls lemonade he was also a sandwich chamber member and if you're not a chamber member of your your town and your surrounding towns definitely check into the opportunities because they have many as well as uh being a Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce member uh they're just really wonderful people great resources for small businesses and uh they definitely help promote your stuff as well so it's a nice reciprocal relationship yeah it is nice we have fun we have business before hours after hours doing different kinds of things it's it's fun Kelly says she's in for Q cup so let's go I'm wearing a bra kemmy out of the army people to see these things I'm not even looking don't worry I'll tell you the good stuff I'll keep you updated I'll keep you abreast of the situation Amy listen anytime I can make boob puns with Amy I'm doing it I probably have listen get rid of those and you know have you seen if you Google it if you Google recycle your bras yeah on the internet you can make planters out of them you can put you know some horses have you know for blinders Amy's giving Dia d y yeah DIY as to what to do with the stuff that we're ditching here mine you can make a row boat out of for crying out loud I had this moment with another girlfriend of mine yesterday we were talking about how you know she well in doubt and she said I'm always wondering what I'm gonna wear because it's such a problem because it makes me look like I don't have a waist and that I'm way larger than I am because of that I like the shapewear because it gives you a figure enhances the one you've got it takes use but you don't feel like you're being squeezed or you know like you're gonna bust out of something like a can of biscuits yeah thank you you don't need popping fresh snow up in here got blood even already yeah perfect and it's comfortable yeah yeah it really I can speak from uh having it on myself it is easy to get on easy to get off and actually very comfortable I don't even know what is happening over here National Secrets but you that we're supposed to get really warm today wonderful so wonderful but it's lovely right now yeah yeah and it's cool down also another reason to enjoy early mornings and come into my studio in the basement it is always cool down here so I definitely enjoy that for sure so yeah I don't even let's not talk about the fair I just escaped it okay it's not here anymore I'm looking forward to it I've you're like wow we watched all of that oh yeah I was watching something that was like a clan thing and I was like what the heck what delete that video it's not good the stuff that was acceptable then it's so cool tomorrow birthday and I think about what did we do I'm old you're not old you're only as old as you feel I guess that's true we're not counting the rings on your tree trunk so you're good you keep on keeping on that's it no rings there I mean nothing to see here so you've got a is it a big birthday no last year was a big birthday okay so now I sleep decades yeah I'm okay I'm totally okay with it yeah yeah last year if we did this last year I'd be like now you're here there's no change in it back that's right it's been a it's been a fun decade yeah I love it Hank who has a host with me on Tuesday had a big birthday and he was really really good about it and now he's kind of like embracing it completely so maybe it does take a little bit of time before you're like okay it is what it is and I talked to one of my girlfriends and she's getting ready for for the big one and I was like this big one and she said no this big one and I was like she looks phenomenal I can't not even like a wrinkle on her face she is really doing the most with her age bracket and I was blown away with it and uh she's just living her best life right now I loved it we have a Sunday fun day yesterday went swimming in the ocean and enjoyed the space in which we live because I feel like that's really hard to do seven years and I and we had company this weekend and I just said I am so grateful that I can do this I can go see that water anytime I can go into the water anytime I want mm-hmm I mean really for people who don't realize it I am I feel so blessed that I have water around me like this yeah it's amazing I did have to take a moment of just gratitude because I we take it for granted we really do totally do okay let me ask you this question yep how about karaoke did you carry I did karaoke I like karaoke when I was in Atlanta for the very first time I did it with a couple of my girlfriends and guess what song We sang I don't know I'm Every Woman close we somebody did that one I love it okay okay Helen Reddy perfect I'm woman hear me roar yes and that's a good one because it's got like a good beat that's not aggressive there's no wrap in there follow along the words I'm sure it was fabulous it was it was yeah it was fun I mean I don't know if I there were people that did it on their own that I I was happy to do it with some of my friends yeah and we had the microphone and I Am Woman and you know we kept putting the the microphone out so that everybody could participate it was a lot very fun it was fun I do love a good karaoke hubby and I oh really that's your first time doing we were gonna go see uh people are weird yeah that live far away from the ocean yeah I don't understand how people get landlocked yes Ricky karaoke does roll it is super fun uh uh we have friends of ours that are karaoke files that follow this specific karaoke people we've got friends that bring their own music with them to karaoke because they want the specific tracks well I've seen every level of karaoke or known to man yep and it was so it was live how fun is that it was it we had a ball I feel like syndicated to that one time it was a live band karaoke or there was another band that was doing it at the duck-in pub at one point and it was so fun because you get to protect your little rock star for a moment and she's singing with us in case we yeah I like the backup singer perfect and then I did I did some other friends that were in the back doing like a dude so fun were people videotaping oh I have it all oh perfect yes good these are good memories these are what makes those moments well somebody said to me people can you sing I said when I was in sixth I was Maria in The Sound of Music and my mother tells me when she tells me that was because you could really belt it out how come I got the part how'd you get the part I was loud enough I'll be here all day probably me no one ever wanted to tell her she's just loud enough with whatever there I was blasting it out that's so awesome I love it so I used to host this um competition this uh it was we didn't like the word pageant but it kind of was a little pageanty they changed the way it was it was Junior Miss um and it was a scholarship competition for women and part of it was you had to do a talent and some of the girls are like I don't have talent they're the Smart Ones or the funny ones they didn't have whatever so some my favorite part was watching the ones that didn't actually sing or dance do some sort of talent whether it was a stand-up routine or something that made them so uncomfortable but there was one girl that just had this like puppet and she was singing through the puppet with like the weirdest ventriloquist voice although she was moving her mouth also terrible but it was just so funny that it was it was so bad it was funny and I love those moments those people at karaoke that get up they're so bad but they're so passionate and you're like those are the moments that I love you're out there and you're just giving it all to us so thank you was like oh goodness not Audible it was Syndicate I knew it was syndicate oh don't you miss us Wendy how is New Hampshire for you right now I hope it's uh all that in a bag of chips I visited Maine fairly recently I enjoyed being a tourist in another town and it's and did anybody know you no and it was nice I kind of like those moments I went out on Friday night here on the cape and it was all tourists that were out and nobody knew me that was lovely that was even more lovely I mean you don't want people to come up to you go Stephanie no not when I'm having dinner with my husband so I gotta I snuck a nice little salad in I'm not going to tell you where because now I'm gonna hope that that's gonna be the case there on Friday night late night and had a salad had a glass of wine and then got home and was in bed and I was so so happy to be able to do that in this area amongst all the tourist moments oh 100 I usually hide it way in the back don't talk to me I'm wondering if I should have like the way you have it bras are the worst yeah yeah I like it maybe have some like I don't know all my friends have those on the car yeah I just you know some real creepers in life Amy there's always going to be the creepers of the weirdos I'm not good with conference yeah so I wouldn't want someone to say what are you doing with that thing I meant also an uncomfortable laugh or I'll laugh at them get more get more weird than they are is my my way of thinking every day needs to be something where you learn something right just learn that yeah just out weird the weirdo you're welcome no I definitely think that you should brand your car it's a fun little conversational piece it's not that expensive and you know what it really packs a punch when you're going places you either get waves or middle finger waves you just never know middle finger waves I'd be like people would probably be really happy yeah yeah or give you weird looks like what is she doing but it's in that car why is she wearing that shirt that's awesome in 2016 . people will see we'll see Ken oh I like that pin obviously like you can't help but get That's A Conversation Piece people want to know so what exactly are you doing in there and you also have swimwear right yes yes because I could have used you yesterday I had a moment where I had to like run into a very cheapy shop and get a bathing suit and I was like holding my breath going I don't know what the hell this is gonna look like but it's bathing suit I'm here there are some people that are wearing the Camis okay with a with a squirt and go right in the water well they're breathable so I believe that absolutely when they drive quick in fact in fact before we had swim that's what people were doing they were putting the Camis underneath their swimsuits I believe it makes sense because once again they do dry really quickly I hand wash mine and let it dry and it's ready and not even an hour so it's really nice yeah and this doesn't matter we're all we're all all sweaty we all get hot right but you don't you're not going to come through your clothes yeah no sweaty bra sweat you're welcome good morning Mary Jane hi Mari mariza she ditched her bras uh Eric thank you good morning Junior he's like I'm not allowed to do karaoke at my brother's own bar what did you do that's what I want to know were you singing inappropriate things inquiring minds want to know try it I'll do it all right karaoke at Amy's okay come again what room am I boot you so you don't know talk to me about the boob room please come to my house for styling appointments yeah and positioning put in last year and the contractor said when he was writing up his notes he said we need one one overhead light or whatever yeah in the boob room and so it's stuck yeah so what I have in the back yeah is a you know a line that says all boobs are good boobs and there's all different sizes so it kind of I feel like most people agree with that I'm in love I don't know you know that's a selling point I think we'd get a lot of people there we're gonna start charging for admission I love that well when you go to um there are certain places that have separate rooms for karaoke where you can go in with just your friends and do your own karaoke things so I think this is good private karaoke in the Boom Room I'm down oh you changed the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody I'm not gonna ask we'll have to have a private conversation about that someday remind me next time I see you at captains please I love I love looking at that with all of the new added seating right oh over at captains absolutely it's done a really Junior has done a really nice job with that bar and uh it is if you've not checked it out definitely go it's a must-in sandwich and the spanakopita is my favorite in town so when it becomes gluten-free oh she's looking for gluten-free options right there we go good morning Don thanks for checking in our California is up in Adam how are the dogs how are the cats she is a dog a pet sitter what's the weirdest pet you've sat Don I'm very curious I feel like you had a bird at some point or some sort of reptile I don't know okay just one just one duck and she does her lives with it with it yep and it's it's cute she talks about her duck Angel was the name of the dog too funny one of our friends David had a duck and his name was Howard I don't know what happened to Howard the Duck David you're gonna have to let us know at some point drop it in the chat oh bunnies okay yes and her husband her husband she definitely has to babysit to pets it all day he's the voice of lemonadeio so if you ever hear the voice Guy come on lemonadeio that's John's husband I worked with him at a radio station around here a long long time ago in the land far away we had a lot of good times yeah we definitely do which has been really nice branching this to a digital format to be able to reach out we've got UK friends that check-in which is really exciting we've got a show uh that runs on the BBC on Saturday nights which is really exciting here from lemonadeio Studios so it's great it is really exciting you know things are happening my husband trying to put VR in here I don't need to be virtually in anyone's yard I'll tell you company and um anything that we need to know to ditch the bra I've been sharing this raw Freedom thing for seven years I can't believe it that's incredible and I did it I just said just I need this I saw some before and after pictures and I was like okay that could be me and um I do it virtually all over the country hopefully someday it will be outside of the US yeah uh so I fit people virtually again you know those sizing things I have a I have a fit finder that that um I send to people by text or email or whatever you want and we get you sized and then I do um I do virtual fittings so we have actually this new platform I'm so excited right on my website it's more like a um like a zoom platform like like this kind of okay so you so we can do it I could do it up to I think 50 people so you can get some friends together or it could just be a personal styling appointment with me right in my website you can see me I could see see you if you want and I can point things out and make suggestions I love that to cart I could show you pictures oh it's okay we just it's just being launched I've been testing it out so I'm looking for testers who want to do it with me just to try it out yeah I like that very much because no one's going to tell you anybody better than your best girlfriend or friend of that looks weird there or that like stuff you can't see yeah right what does that look like back there is there a right fit or something so you've got that virtual appointment which is really nice you need somebody to watch your back you got to watch the front yes look at the wow it means you're in the wrong size or it needs to be adjusted and I can tell and back or we do it face to face or we do it virtually yeah there is a moment of vulnerability when you're in a space like that because we all have body issues what it whatever it is like one's bigger than the other one's this or this does this and it looks weird and Amy will get you symmetry going these are not twins right sisters see the sisters got to look like they're uh similar but you do you make that happen for people and there's a confidence that comes along with when you know you look your best self automatically you're straight your shoulder and people don't even realize it they're like and then as soon as they see themselves in the mirror they're like you could see the expression you could just see the confidence yeah on the face Donna's in for testing so we'll get with you afterwards Don so you can do it Mari they hold them up and tuck in my tummy so I'm good with that good morning Liz that the lymphatic system needs that flow mama needs to breathe I need to breathe seriously men if you wear you know men wear too tight close it's not good for their lymphatic system either so we're I do I wear lots of sundresses and um this is if I can wear it in one thing that's why I love dresses everyone's like oh you got so many cute ones I said no this is because I need to be able to get dressed in one swoop motion and then move on with my day because I have no time for this and what things look like in the middle and that's done and we have we have trees and pants and squirts and stuff coming up I want to choose it somewhere where I can take a couple of my friends who do this with me and we can just set up like in the midwest there's something called the pinners conference I mean there are big conferences in the midwest on the west coast I've never been to a conference in in my industry and my husband is getting ready to go to one in October and if you want to come and I'm like oh I don't know you should yeah oh yeah I forgot about sandwich Fest with Cami in 90 degree weather no God no oh so I don't want to do anything in 90 degree weather I'm a sloth stay like this yeah exactly somebody showed me a fan yes um at the zip zip day or whatever yeah and kind of like when they have in Florida at Disney those fans with like the sports service almost yeah that's Florida living stuff right there Southern Living yeah actually that's good I like that so I'm trying to decide if I want to do that for sandwich Fest or if I just want to be uh a voyeur yeah yeah I you know I understand because going to stuff like that you're like oh I could have promoted this about my business or I could have done that especially people that are entrepreneurs that are always kind of working to Branch their Network their people their business I yeah I struggle with that it's like am I working right now am I not working right now am I just enjoying it I've been just enjoying it lately and taking it in because I feel like I'm always out doing stuff so I I've been really being mindful of that especially on the weekends of trying to just take it in and see what other people are doing and enjoying that space a little bit
