yes oh okay Hank singing tapping switching I'm like I haven't worked on how to figure out how to make that silent yet so you're just gonna hear all the background noises before you actually see us so good morning hi hello again hey you heard us you were wondering what we were doing and here we are but at least I wasn't saying any dirty words no no although we could it's pretty good we are yeah yeah we're not we're not like F-bomb droppers we're not big swearers no by Nature anyway no no so good morning it's Hank Stephanie we're happy to be here yes we are we're on the other side of it yes we are how you doing after your uh surprise um folks I want you to meet an unindicted co-conspirator good morning um so the last if you've been watching others are listening to us you've heard for the last several weeks Stephanie asked me Faithfully so you have a big birthday coming up what are you doing and my answer has always been well I'm going to play golf with my friends and then mari's made a reservation at the old German thin and we're going to go have dinner with family and I think it's just great and wonderful so Sunday April 23rd um the weather was a little dicey but I somehow was encouraged to go out and play golf with a couple of friends and when we were through with nine holes and it was raining and I said come on guys really that's that's enough oh come on one more one more well they were in on it too because I walked into the clubhouse wet cold needing a drink and the clubhouse was full of people screaming happy birthday and this one is over in the corner playing they say it's your birthday you're alive and it was it was a blast I was totally Mari had me Mari Meg Mariana everybody Logan this one um had me totally convinced and I was fine with the day as it was planned yeah I mean it was it was great you know I I love to play golf didn't get a chance to play much last year um you know I was out with two guys that I'm that I'm very good friends with I told my youngest brother not to bother coming down um well I just see him for dinner and of course he's sitting at the clubhouse and um the cool thing was lots of cool things but my younger brother um from Michigan who lives in Michigan and his wife were there and they come this way like every other year and they had been here like six weeks ago so they were the last people in the world I expected to see sitting there on top of um you know other people some of whom I had seen like within the last couple days some of whom I hadn't seen in in a long time but I've been friendly friendly with guy with the name of David proof for example um he was on the city council with me in Attleboro we moved here 28 years ago that's incredible and we've managed to stay you know kind of email Facebook connected connected you know one of those every Christmas card every Christmas you know we really got to get to see each other it's getting to be too long yeah and it is getting to be a little too long so so once again we made all kinds of commitments to people we'll kind of get together this time we're going to get together yeah exactly and we'll and we'll and we'll see how well we do the reignited commitment yes do you know how hard it was for me to keep a secret I can imagine yes I do and then you've got not you weren't feeling good the day before and I'm like oh boy no no I wasn't feeling and then that day it was raining and I'm like oh boy yeah like it just made me so nervous and I don't know why because I had to keep a secret I kept a secret it was so painful to keep the secret and then so many things were going to go wrong I was like oh Mari must be freaking out she wanted to text her I'm gonna text her number I'm not gonna text her no she was and I just didn't I was like that's it you know 20 things happening when the weather forecast looked like we were going to be able to get the golf game in she was go for it when it looked like it was starting to rain then all of a sudden she's like oh you know if you don't feel good you got to be careful and then the two guys I played with started you know coming up with these conquer me schemes to get me out of the house and to get me somewhere for two hours and then somehow trick me into going to um you know Holly Ridge for the party my friend Tim said well you know I need to buy some new golf clubs why don't you come with me down at Dick's Sporting Goods and then we'll go have a drink at the mall and I thought to myself Kim it's my empty um birthday why do you want to be at the mall why in the hell do I want to go in the mall with you love you man but go to the mall and have a drink yeah right come on I'd rather take a nap your wife said I can hear you but you're not live yet yes Mari we're working on that also good morning Amy good morning Tammy she said happy belated birthday Hank thank you oh people can hear us but not see us no no we're fine now we're fine now good morning Robert Robert said that one vote born cannabis repeal lost by one vote wow once again if you don't think that your vote counts you are mistaken every vote counts especially when we're talking about local elections we'll talk about that in one second good morning Marie Maria's got something big happening this weekend they've got banned together for inclusion Chase's senior project lots of bands great fun and that is happening over at Mashpee High School you went to Mashpee high school over the weekend yes I got to see Miss Lily my daughter wrapped up Charlie Brown you're a good man Charlie Brown very cute very small play yep you know what I know she was upset she she didn't get selected to be Charlie Brown but I think she had the better part oh she had a great part yeah oh my God she wanted Lucy she went out for Lucy but you know what I think Lucy was cast perfectly I think they did a really great job casting everybody she definitely was Schroeder but a couple of times when Schroeder got mad at people and started yelling we looked at each other we went Stephanie oh yeah a hundred percent oh yeah Lily was absolutely channeling her inner ma yes she was absolutely it was really nice it was really cute oh oh thank you Marie yeah Marie went I I did see you in the audience on Saturday for a brief bit I was sneaking in I had just done the dance Marathon by the way 265 Advanced um uh dancers for our dance Marathon we had over 40 performances 10 dance studios were included from Age Two to 84 I think was our oldest participant it was it was pretty incredible we raised a ton of money for the women's early detection fund from Cape Cod Healthcare I know there were some people that were kind of confused when they got there because they thought it was going to be like four hours of straight dance and we've played with this format for for many years but the dancers from the dance studios we stomp it down everybody grabs a water we watch performances and I had a really tough week last week so here I am coming from yes yes you did my 12-hour Drive rolling into this thing throwing all my equipment in the car getting all set up getting all these performances together making sure everybody's MP3s were all in order and all the different dance studios because you get an email from the dance studios with 10 performances and I'm like trying to put it all together which I just left myself zero time because I had no internet where I was in Virginia and um then they're doing these contemporary dance performances with this somber music and I'm I'm bawling my eyes out yeah I've got mascara my husband I was laughing because I kept wiping my mascara and my husband's like lower lower I'm like where is that it was very it was an emotional but amazing day once again and we were raising money for the women's early detection fund if you're a Cape Cod woman and you need something that is not covered by your insurance ask about the women's early detection fund whether it's mammogram whether it's um a Pap whether it's something that's just not covered DNA testing any of those things that you're curious about and your insurance doesn't cover it this will cover that that's exactly what it's done and it's now a self-funded fund Jen Raco did an amazing job setting this up and it's really incredible to see how it has taken on a life of its own so it's wonderful to be a part of it since the beginning so that was pretty incredible and then I flew into Lily's performance at halftime yep it's like I'm not paying anybody no no no just getting in there so I got halfway through the place I got half on for on Saturday night and then I got to watch the rest of it with you my dad my father-in-law ever it was gang was all there on Sunday so that was awesome that was so cool to meet you Dad yeah you know and clips Cliff's dad and everything that was really sweet yeah it was an incredible day so thank you very much for being part of that I appreciate it part of the fam now King watch out I know you're in trouble now so let's talk about some of the Town votes that uh occurred yesterday I haven't seen much in the way of um outcomes thank you very much Robert for sharing that with us because that's really disappointing now they do not allow cannabis Salem born correct right okay and they're staying with that yeah because they lost by one vote I'm not sure how they're going to revisit this but I'm pretty sure it's kind of dead in the water at the moment so that's just a shame for the town of Bourne everybody else is doing it and I know that that's not the excuse everybody else is doing it why should you I'm just saying that your town is not going to get the benefits uh financially of this situation and then people are going to have to go to other towns and spend their money right then in then in Sandwich um the plastic ban um failed again um which which led some people to comment um you know maybe there needs to be some kind of a limit you know how many times can you bring an initiative petition back um I don't I don't think you can do that um but one of the comments that one of the comments that I saw that I thought was funny yeah was someone commenting on this chain said um they're trying to turn us into Wellfleet and I thought to myself pal have you seen the property values in Wellfleet they're doing fine there they're doing fine down there and apparently they have a plastic bottle ban or something um but I but I understand it it gets to be a gets to be a pain in the neck I remember here we go was one of the first communities to do a smoking ban in restaurants I remember that and because I worked for a particular restaurant that was either smoking or not yes and if it was smoking then it couldn't be no one under 21 could be in the restaurant right yep and and my father-in-law's business took a big hit yeah for a little while um and then started to build up yeah but what happened was everybody finally caught on do you get it you know everybody gets it Attleboro did it okay the north Adam bro did it because Attleboro get it and and and all of that so um it'll it'll eventually get there I mean I understand it's you know don't need the bottles lying around and everything else but some of this is you just can't legislate to stop people from being idiots yeah that is fair you know and yes uh Robert mentioned the fact that it's time that we need the younger generation to get involved 100 agree with you right now but it seems like they don't want to be involved and um that needs to change that attitude needs to to somehow we need to cultivate a better option for them to get involved make it easier for them to be involved maybe change some of those bylaws um I know Mashpee had a big vote you already saw on the town crier page that somebody was really upset that they drove to the vote and they were not heard because they're not an actual voter even though they do pay taxes and have a summer home here which is a big problem here on the cape we have a lot of people that have second homes here that have no say in what's happening here which I also think is kind of wrong yeah it's a little it's a it's a little crazy it's a catch-22 because you don't live here this is not your address so you don't have the right to vote right okay so so I guess I guess the answer is okay if you want to vote in Mashpee then change your legal voting address to Mashpee right um and I'm sure people will keep track if you go back and forth and back and forth and back and forth um but that's I mean that's one that's that's certainly one answer but um the town meeting members have the right to vote to give non-voters a chance to speak and apparently um at the Master P town meeting last night um folks who are at the town meeting decided no they weren't going to allow outside speakers and that's their right and that's them's the rules one of the one of the problems Steph is people don't understand the rules and all of a sudden they jump into the middle of something because you know their Ox is being gored as the saying goes and they don't understand what's going on and they don't bother to find out how it works yeah they just start you know slapping around and splashing around when taking a minute or two to find out you know how the how the rules are yeah um there was something that sandwich town meeting several years ago now where there was a big vote and I forget what it what it was um but the vote and it failed and the vote was reconsidered at the end of the night and it passed and the problem was that the people who successfully voted it down had left uh and that happens a lot I dislike when they sneak in referendums and other things or change the day or we're going to make it on a Tuesday at 3 P.M and that's when we're going to get everybody to vote then nobody shows up and then they eventually get their way anyway which is a little bit sneaky um you are making a valid point Robert there are a lot of vacancies on Town committees to just get involved and you and I were looking at a story earlier about the mayor of New York actually went into the streets begging people to get involved and take up these jobs there are 20 000 vacancies for city jobs in New York City jobs that is crazy to me and it used to be a city job or a state job that's the job you want those are the benefits those are the good ones those are the ones you fight for right right but you get good maybe there's Health Care exactly maybe the salary isn't great but boy the health care is good and there's a pension plan and and I mean that's that that's again that's what everybody that used to be the goal right somebody said hey I got a job with the city everybody was like Hey high five good job yeah you know um there were lots of votes I'm not quite sure as to how they went Cindy virgin thank you yes she had never heard of the women's early detection fund and it does need to be talked about it is new as of three years ago four years ago and it is now um doing amazing things for the women all throughout the cape um I heard they were treated badly and that's wrong yeah I don't know what's going on with all of this good morning Ray thanks for joining us on the show this morning where was that Mashpee I don't know whether it's Mashpee I don't know whether it's sandwich or born or what is going on but we had a lot of town votes yeah yeah it just I mean and people at town meeting can get really testy and and they um they don't always like what they consider to be Outsiders and and depending upon the community and and you kind of know this because you live in an area where you have you know summer people and and you you're you're around residents there's a bit of um yeah Bad Blood between you know the the townies and the and the summer people and I think that that plays into hey I'm a summer resident but I want to talk about all of this and and the townies are like no you're not you don't live here I know well it is frustrating because you come in with all your new ideas and we're like we live here all year round that's great you know I mean summer people some are not uh we've discussed this on several occasions yes I know and I do remember chatting with Dave Sampson at one point after a sandwich town meeting that I was pulled into for some reason and he had just said you don't like it change the rules and you need to show up and change the rules and I'm like Ugh do you know what that's like though yeah they don't want to do it the younger generation does not want to do it right now and I we've got to figure out how to make them wano yeah they don't understand that they have a that they have a vested interest they'll understand when they have kids in school and and the school committee decides they're going to do a b or c and all of a sudden they get they get all upset and they're going to start showing up at school Community meetings or um showing up at Town meetings and then the trick is you got to get them to understand okay you showed up for this particular issue but there's this other stuff that you could be concerned about too yeah yeah I agree so get involved is what we're talking about we're not involved but you should get involved you had your time though you were involved oh yeah I had my time I was a selectman and finance committee chairman and my husband told me to run for something I'm like I uh you know I have too many opinions you just have to have a thick skin I don't yeah I do but I don't yeah you know what I mean I could handle my own but also I don't want to drag my family through that right when I went because it's scrutiny and that's really what's difficult and maybe that's the part that needs to change is the ridiculous scrutiny that people have to go through when they just want to be helpful right Mari and I were um engaged and I was running for re-election to the city council and she had never been to um a debate before in an Attleboro there was a history of there's a couple of places where there always were were debates this church and that Legion Hall and and the last debate of the year um was at the temple and it was the best debate of the year they sold kosher hot dogs and beer I'd be there and then oh my God what are we talking about and then you'd get up to speak speak and you'd have people who had been drinking beer for for who knows how long and you get up to speak and you really know what's on their minds and I said to Mari this is so cool I love this this is the best debated the year and I stood up and I was in the middle of some controversy and some people started bullying me ah started crying oh oh Mari I don't know how you finding someone I'm like wasn't that cool they were born me and didn't I just punch right back at them and that's a radio guy right there you elicited some sort of a feeling of function anything I'll take the booze all day good morning you're paying attention to me thanks for joining us you hate me that's why and there were people like no further than than where these Fez guys are yeah you know screaming and pointing their finger at me and I'm going to myself oh yeah I love this I love this come on buddy let's go some people are built for that I think right now that we everybody has an opinion and uh it's it's easy to get them out and disseminate them now because we have so much social media and connectivity behind a screen that it's easier to be your nasty self and I think that that's why it's it's an intimidation it's scrutiny and a lot of people don't want to put their family through that oh no no and the social media thing I used to be a Twitter guy people are ratchet horrible and they're all onto it and they're all on Twitter honest to God they're all on Twitter I refuse I will not wager a nasty opinion online I it never will happen I will scroll on if I see something that I don't like I'm like I don't like that move on right it I it is possible you can scroll on you don't have to wager a nasty opinion about it or you could disagree nicely right there there are easier ways to be kind right we are not one of the Tony pages one of the sandwich Tony Pages um I think it was sandwiched I don't think it was magic I think it was sandwiched um the moderator had a put back in the approval first um function because things got a little out of control I did see that yesterday apparently with people complaining about Stop and Shop and having to pay for your bags and everything but but I guess it kind of It kind of crossed the line of you know this business that business yeah yeah and she finally had a how to say okay and you know enough is enough but that's like I don't know wrangling children at this point it sounded The Way It Was Written and I have a sandwich moderator she did have to say because she warned them right I'm warning you if this happens again I'm going to have to start turning this on and this is like the third time yeah I mean God bless you we're toddlers you become a toddler online stop it so some people just can't control themselves seriously they they really can't and you'd be surprised who they are yeah if you actually met them you know because people hide behind phony names and and and all kinds of well you saw one today where you can go and when you're on one of those pages be anonymous still yeah and there's lots of people that just like to stir the pot they don't even care what they're saying they are stirring the pot to get reactions that's exciting to them trolls where I saw it was the person who said they had driven 100 miles to speak at um Mastery town meeting it was an anonymous Post Yeah well if you if you want people to to kind of kind of help you or work with you or to see what your problem is you can't post anonymously yeah you gotta identify yourself unfortunately or you just you know whatever into the wind yeah and Mari said that it was she said she heard people were being treated badly and it was it was not cute last night so maybe that was a trigger for you Mari back to hardening to hey story back to the debate at the temple yeah yeah it was a tough 24-hour station said so well it's done now and for the people that show it up thank you very much for voicing your opinion we appreciate it I was not there so I cannot tell you I was I was a bad boy I didn't I didn't go either well I don't think half the people could get there and Mashpee yesterday I looked and it was like warning this road to this road is shut off I'm like I can't even leave my house no I can't leave my house I'm trapped like a rat oh we're trapped too where we are yeah you too yo you are extra traps we're extra trapped take the right nope can't go that way take a left nope here's the detour what do you mean and they change it every day that's the thing I wish they would like send out an email like these are the roads that are going to be affected today just so I can plan that's all that would be great I just wish the town Highway Department had communicated with the state highway department and that Mashpee had spoken to sandwich and sandwiches spoken to Bourne is there a way for that to have been done better I don't even know it I don't know it in time I don't know because the local work I mean here in here in Mashpee the state's working on 151 yeah and then the town is doing local work son of a gun in the same areas you would have thought somebody would have said hey guys it's our turn you know and oh by the way the bridge well that's the problem we're so disconnected and disjointed as people we used to have two options you go to the three options you go to the radio you go you go to the newspaper you go to the TV one was local one was local or one was even more local and then that's how you busted it down but now that's not there are 400 options right where you can find your actual news whether it's your towny news whether it's your neighbors whether it's somebody saw something and then I saw it on a friend's page and then I'm like what is this it's wild it's the wild west out there right now for information I don't even know what's real anymore and you can never be sure just because you saw it on the Tony noon page yeah right that it's true or the or the worst thing is someone who posts something on Facebook and then everybody runs with it like it's true well that's it I'm always doing my due diligence and I'm just like by the time I do diligence is done now there's a new problem right I don't know it's real I don't know what land I'm living in anymore I really don't I've got enough problem so I just kind of put my head down and move forward which is probably why we're not getting people at Town meetings no probably not probably not so let's talk about some positive things shall we okay sure uh uh like what well I was asking you today I posted about um how do you treat yourself I said how do you pamper yourself Hank if you you looked at me like I had 11 heads yeah I don't I know I'm a guy I'm a guy I don't I don't do pamper I disagree I think that there are ways to treat yourself to something nice okay whether that's a round of golf whether that's sitting in a corner reading the newspaper or watching a program on TV okay um whether I know a lot of women were like retail therapy I can't that stresses me out I'm not a shopper I just don't do it I don't like it no no when I hear pamper I think oh let's go to the spa yeah no that's not me well we were supposed to have a spa day me and um seven of my girlfriends we all had booked at miribo well they shut out whirlpools down for maintenance until the mid the end of May I'm like are you kidding me you chose to do this Mother's Day is like 13 days away you chose to do it now uh uh something went wrong you threw our girls night into a dizzy everyone I'm 400 text messages yesterday do you know how many group chats I'm involved in right now I can imagine a lot I woke up the other day to 147 missed text messages 147. I meant a phone can hold that taste messages and then I have to go through each one and see what is happening in the conversation there's always that one person and we've talked about this before that you reach out to in the group chat yeah can you catch me up to speak because I'm not going through that right I'm not reading all of this stuff no but at this point I I'm not even bothering reaching out to the one person to find out what's going on if you need me text me individually for something cause I'm out looking at that at all yeah oh the chains are ridiculous it's a bleep show I've got Ruck for hit coming up this weekend so I've got that team going on I've got my girls night that was thrown into a tizzy because they got rid of the spa so where are you going now I don't know I don't know where they're going there was seven of them all looking online I'm gonna look here I'm going to look here me too and this is the text messages that I'm missing yeah well stacking up the bodies I can't I'm so easily swayed good morning Junior it looks like you're having some fun over at Captain's you got the outdoor seating area already that new bar looking real nice and uh yeah it's Cinco de Mayo weekend so we're going to be partying Nat thank you so much for joining us hopefully you're getting your workout on while you're listening to Hank and I you know we're lucky on the cape so far I think that the powers that be having tried to screw up the outdoor dining because I saw a news story this weekend about City Waltham that had very successful outdoor dining and well now that it's been so successful um they want to charge they want to start charging and well that's what happened in the city of Boston yes in in the North End yeah and that was a big to do and I think it is well I get it only in that specific area because there's a lot of trash and street cleanup and not very much parking and not there's not much space in there anyway no so I get that they're trying to expand to the outside but I do understand that that's more of a cost to the city to maintain so I I don't know yeah I don't know I don't think and I don't think we always think of of the North End as a residential neighborhood yeah we think of the restaurants and the bakeries in the in the and the bars all over there and and we don't realize that one street back one block back people live back there yeah right oh yeah stacking in there yes I could never live like that no City living is not for me no but I imagine living in the North End must be great for your diet yep they walk a lot though I think a lot of my Bostonian friends they walk a lot yeah you have to walk from the restaurant to the bakery yeah you earned your cannoli right my brother especially he's in New York with that fifth floor walk up I'd be like I I was like you're going to be in such good shape your butt is going to be so good it's like get up those stairs by the way how are things he's doing fabulous he's living his best Manhattan life are you kidding me yep I mean to be single and 30 in the city with a great job that with that amount of money he's bringing in I don't even get texts I don't even get checked on right I'm like hi remember me your sister he's good does he does he lead when he meets people with hi hi honey I work for Fox News God no okay I wouldn't leave with that either no in the weather Department in the weather Department the weather Department oh okay I work on the gaps in the weather right right you can believe us yeah right you know at least in weather people figure you're making it up half the time anyhow so what the hell that's the only job you can consecutively be wrong in every single day and still have a job and still be like revered and loved like yesterday yesterday's weather was not supposed to be yeah and it was beautiful gorgeous I know I got outside and I just sat in the front yard I didn't have anything to do so I just sat with the dog and stood my face in the sun there were things growing out in the front yard now yeah right I know they're growing my little I said my garden which is doing well out there that there's things growing up a trellis and it's happening what's going in the bathtub though what what is she doing there I don't know I don't know what whatever mosquito water feature she's growing on my front yard right now I'm gonna it's gonna be swarms of mosquitoes I can't I'm not ready for that cousin Aaron is here hey Erin how are you and hey Shelly I am very excited we've got uh knock about we do Sunday Funday every single Sunday but this one is the quahoga Republic we're having a margarita chowder it's Quahog day oh so you're making our own you're going to the Quahog Republic no they're coming to us so they're bringing their chowder they're bringing their Margaritas uh Mari uh this is what we're going to be doing on Sunday I heard there's going to be a dunk tank so the weather better be nice oh yeah I love quahogs yeah oh Diana thank you so much she came out to our trivia last night she had a good time good yeah trippy is always a good time you never know what you're gonna get cliff and I brought like to we're working on our outdoor games for this summer so he got this weird like little head thing that was like a basketball net and you have to catch these are the tiebreakers we have tiebreaker games so it's super fun to see old people older people stuff okay all their people strap baskets to their head and catch balls demonstrate first absolutely okay yeah I'm not afraid to get in there and get dirty hey Carrie I'm very much looking forward to our new house guests I had one of our Uh current house guests move out yesterday so he said goodbye to Greg and we're getting ready for our summer uh inhabitants our our J ones the doctors yes our kazakhstani doctors my dad heard that yesterday and he's like what are you doing he just looks at because he's old school Portuguese that he just doesn't understand the way we live here yeah it's just like I don't get it so do you know yet where these guys are going to be Dr Ring um I'm not quite sure in Kazakhstan don't know but when they come here they're gonna work at Dunkin Donuts they're going to be doctoring my coffee wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute they're legit doctors from they're still in school whatever it is Kazakhstan Kazakhstan thank you never mind um I'll say silly medical students correct and they're going to be working at Dunkin Donuts not the one that time forgot no no not that one that one okay they're all different they're all owned by different people talking about them all the time for God the one in Mashpee yeah which is fine it's closed for remote remodeling the one over here at the Time Forgot they're not remodeling that one they don't care no D how much do you owe still doesn't work and I think I'm talking really bothering Hank if it's really bothering me kidding we're gonna have to talk to that franchisee and get them up to speed it's like I mean again I I ordered the same thing every morning so I know what it is yeah but if you're somebody who's just rolling by yeah you have no idea hey Lauren thanks for joining us I don't know if you went to your town meeting a little bit disappointing news I know that and good for you Nat lay in bed have a lazy day everybody needs one of those yeah uh I haven't had one so let me know how your lazy day goes I'm super jealous I think you and Cliff needs to give me to go on vacation lazy day our vacation was a disaster we were away for a day and a half and I was like why am I here I could do this at home why am I here the kids won't have to call me I'm just sitting here and they can ask me I don't even know if we even got a chance to talk about the horrible two days that I had away it was just an I was a switchboard operator this one's looking at me this one's not doing can you tell him can you call him they're right beside each other right both calling us separately and then my older daughter got into the mix and I'm just like oh I can't make it stop just make it stop I threw my phone and quit the vacation I was driving back to go pack up because I'm like why this is a waste right this is a waste then him and I finally got to go out and I did a tick tock about it and if you follow me then you saw it but I said and I've talked about this several times I always get set next to the kid when cliff and I don't have kids they put us next to kids the entire restaurant was empty and I had a two-year-old screaming in my ear hole of course of course it's laugh it's laughable I'm one of those people that it's just like it's so bad you have to laugh about it oh yeah you have to I think other than that you cry well that's it this past weekend I mean absolutely I've I did nothing this week but cry and laugh right but I was with all I was with my aunts and they they definitely uplift me in a very sad situation yeah and we had a horrible week it was like unspeakably terrible and I laughed more than I've ever laughed because it's like the Laugh or the cry they're very they're right there right over there like right both together they're still you're just so overly emotional that we were laughing hyenas in like the most awkward situation like saying goodbye to my aunt in our hospital bed while she's you know twitching not even actually there and then one of them cracked a joke and we're like we're laughing right they were bawling our eyes out that we're asking for a chaplain I felt like I was on I needed medication hot mass and you're yucking it up and the chaplain comes in and then absolutely they're like these people are not okay right I don't know what to do with them but I think that you have to laugh in those situations well it's a way to break the tension like you said you either laugh or you're crying laughing is easier but then you feel guilty like what am I laughing I know I know yeah why why can I find happiness in this situation and I think that at you have to yeah good morning Jermaine Jermaine you're a nurse you know you have to laugh at the ridiculous situations that you find yourself I can only imagine being in the medical field the things that people see and do every single day my mom was a nurse for 40 years and the stories oh I can't imagine I couldn't do it absolutely could not do it because it's sometimes just so ridiculous it's when you're not your best self and you act like a child right right and and how do you tell people if you're in the medical profession how to tell people to calm down now how do you get people to to understand that this is really what's going on yeah coming up with you I remember my my um anybody out when when my my father-in-law was in was in hospice um peaceful he peacefully passed away the the priest got there before he passed all of that it was wonderful um but like down the hall there was this guy saying apparently to his brother or his sister but they're not feeding Mom I'll take her home I'll I'll meet her I'll take care of her and you're listening to it and you're going pal she's in hospice for a reason yeah if you were going to feed and take care of your mom uh uh you probably should have said that before yeah yeah I know like now I know you're not your bad self though when you're in situations like that you're just not no once again borderline I look like I was coming out of The Shining right right didn't mean to bum anybody out no no but I'm sorry that is life right it is it is what we have right now speaking of which I just saw something about how where as a society opening too many tabs and trying to multitask everything and that's really what's stressing us out the most is trying to do all of the things and be all of the things for everyone and we're we're doing it to ourselves yes we suck at time management uh yeah management we really really do I know the balance yeah the struggle for the balance I think is real for absolutely everybody because we feel like we've got to do everything right all the time so this is my down time I'm actually wearing pajama pants so really it's it's lounge and I'm wearing pants pants he's wearing regular pants it's fine we rolled up pants on under here but this is how I trick myself into being like I'm not really going into work I'm like dressed from the waist up it's like the Zoom from pandemic it's how I live my life now well just like you know when you when when you watch so many of those um you know TV shows new shows to uh you know the news the sports panel shows yeah and those guys have shirts and ties on yeah they're wearing shorts yeah probably they're wearing gym shorts and I saw within the last week or so oh God I I forget who it was somebody who actually rolled back and stood up yeah and he had on a pair of gym shorts yeah but the jacket and tie and and everything else I feel you buddy that's exactly how I live my life that's how I trick myself into feeling like I'm not working so much right I have PJs on how bad could it be right good morning Seraphina so nice Carrie matu says I could not relate more thanks friends you know I mean particularly when when there's Zoom calling in from home yeah you know they're not they get they got their jammies I don't even care what you're wearing keep your screen off for all I care I don't care I know that you're you're not doing any um classes now that are online you're done you're done I'm done yay well that's Greg's horn okay there you go we got a little Applause for hanging over here thank you it's Donny's done I know what I I love teaching I enjoy it I enjoy my students but it gets to the point in the semester when it's like okay guys just really thank you drummer Steve he was part of our trivia team last night dumb and drummer which made me laugh that was their team name but he won Bingo they won music Bingo and he yells out I just shipped my pants and it was the best win I've ever had this this year so far thus far you are the best winner I have had thank you so much and that was a dinos last night I guess it was so we're at shipwreck tonight from 7 to 8 30 different trivia different crowd different scene and uh we're we really if you've not enjoyed any of our activities out in in the the world I definitely suggest you do so because it is uplifting we do have a good time I really try and just make everybody feel for an hour or two like your problems are not your problems let's laugh let's listen to some music let's have a good time and and I do want to want to thank you at my birthday party she did a Hank's birthday music that's not the only time the Hank's music birthday Bingo was played by the way oh really well my husband was filling in for me this week and left himself a little bit short on one of the Bingos so Hank's birthday Bingo was played at dinos last Monday I walked in because I was I was at another event and I was about to drive to Virginia and I look over and I'm like are you playing Hank's birthday bingo with these people and he's like it's all I had so that birthday Bingo my friend but that was super fun for me and Cliff to put together so we did thank you the years of Hank's life yes starting from like Hank was a little kid Hank's just learning to walk yeah you know Hank said a 20 year old man Hank had his first drink and then it was like 10 years later where he met Mari oh wait Mari was born so he definitely had a good time and putting together your birthday baby it was fun it was fun from the decades yes the decades until it became a problem events but through these years I did I did go to Virginia last week Aaron not for super fun stuff so hey cam how are you what fabulous destination are you at right now and when am I getting my buddy travel passes Oh you mean you mean cam who loves his Dior sunglasses excuse me oh no I'd be pissed if I lost Dr sunglasses too I remember I had one one time my sister lived in Australia for a year and when she came back she brought me a bunch of designer cute stuff and I had Dior sunglasses okay and I had for me to not lose a pair of sunglasses was magical and I had these for three years wow until I had my son who was basically Bam Bam if you remember the Flintstones yes so I remember just sitting there one time at the beach and he just took my sunglasses and he was like Mom I have your sunglasses and just just broke off the arms broke them off and snapped them it wasn't just like the pin that I could replace just snapped them what a cute boy that was the last time I had a nice item well now you have the cool yeah I've Got My lemonadeio Sunglasses that's right that apparently bank robbers like to use yes apparently no one ever called me on that yeah I'm a little disappointed yeah hang around with Stephanie long enough folks you start robbing banks I don't know what happened crazy crime gone to real life at least he had pants on he did he did have pants on or they had pants on we still don't know what it was yes that was honestly on the on the radio side did some of you folks may or may not have heard so far we've had two crazy crime stories about people not wearing clothes clothing I don't know what it is with um people that commit crimes but let me just have a Frank conversation with you if you're committing a crime whatever that crime be and the police are now chasing you do not take off your clothes I you will be more identifiable and then you will be the naked person in the story why do people get naked while committing crimes right I don't know why how does that I've got nothing to lose so I'm just going to get naked I've always wanted to do this I don't know if people think that if they'd take off their clothes they'll be less identifiable because it's not the red they're wearing a red cap or a blue shirt no no you're the naked person right you're much more identifiable is the naked person wearing clothes wearing clothes wearing clothes naked wearing clothes wearing clothes oh that's the naked guy I did see a cute story out of West Virginia uh about a dog that went missing and was missing for six years holy cow and somebody it was an Army Corps of Engineers place that that took the chip yes scan the chip and returned this dog to his mom that's fabulous she had clothes on um and Georgia after six years and six years 470 miles from home is where they found the dog wow right that's crazy I love it isn't there a book like that something about Journey something about a Homeward Bound some I think so it was like a dog and a cat and something Milo and Otis I don't remember yes yeah I can't I can't think of it but yes I know my brain is fried with useless trivia and dumb songs I no longer can think clearly anymore it's just a jumble um anything good going on in your life right now what are your plans final grades this week wow so you know you're not fully I'm not done but I'm going in you're no longer actually dealing with the kid-facing portion of your of your time no no no just have to do final grades and and I think everybody's going to be happy although there's going to be there's going to be the you know the one person who I'm gonna get an email from in the middle of July yeah how come I got a well I don't know you didn't hand in half your assignments and heck it's the middle of July and the ones that I get a kick out of and again I like my students so much are the ones that during exam week after semester's over you just final exams they all of a sudden want to make up all their work and it's like you can't do that uh I totally understand given the current climate of going to college and trying to maintain all of these things in your life but it's not easy but you still got to do the work no and and my argument always is how is this fair to everybody else that sound actually did the work I know oh I've got somebody in my class she's done the work mostly essentially she hasn't been to class yeah and when she shows up she tells me you know I've been sick I said okay you got it you gotta let me know okay and then the next time she doesn't show up I get an email professor okay that's great hope you come back soon and then this this and and it's like I know it's hard what am I gonna do with you I know you know am I going to turn you want me to the system that we have we can we can turn them over to the academic Dean and and I'm like well when am I going to do that for she's handing in the work she's just not showing up I mean what's the dean gonna do say you got to show up and she's going to go well yes I've been sick but I but I will and then she's not going to show up anyway so Lauren I don't know if I follow that page but she said she just went off in the Bourne residence page so I'm definitely going to go over there to read that because I I like reading car accidents I'm a rubbernecker I'll look at it and move on but I do enjoy reading it absolutely just where's the popcorn I'm there for it I guess starting today Amazon workers and um Oregon have to go back to work at least three days they need to be in no it's Seattle at least three days in the office how do you be an Amazon worker and not go into the office I don't know what do you what do you do okay yeah that doesn't make any sense moving the packages with my mind right mental telepathy maybe they're they're the behind the scenes workers I don't know but I don't know how you be an Amazon worker from home so it's got to be a certain point in in most companies where you really need to get everybody in the same room for at least 20 minutes yeah because she can't handle everything with zoom meetings and emails and and text messages it just doesn't it can't practically function that way yeah I guess I mean it's still out there covid um yeah yeah I've I've run into we've we've run into over the last week 10 days all of a sudden all these people who are who are getting covered I still haven't had it right I saw my friend Lindsay who just fell with it and she had maintained three years of not having it and she got it real bad so I I'm really not looking forward to that I really don't want to but I feel and now I'm like I'm trying not to be like well I never had it so blah blah blah and I was like it's gonna happen to me now that I said it out loud because I'm trying not to say it out loud but it's happened no good morning Lindsay I have I have a really good friend who has long-term covert who texted me last night that she has coveted again so she's got covert on top of her long-term covert the pills and the and the and the medication doesn't work she has to go to Boston to to get up there's always that one person I feel so bad for them Aaron's still 100 remote so good for you Erin yep but do you work for Amazon right I don't know did you see Carol Burnett's 90th birthday party I saw I saw some of it yeah sign me up for this two hour special 7.6 million Prime Time views 90 years old good for freaking you Carol Burnett yep yep you got 20 years Hank with thank you with Julie Andrews that's Epic and and Julie Andrews has got to be I have a TBR and I haven't watched it so I'm really looking forward to that time I actually want to just sit and stare at mindless television in my pajamas for like a couple of hours absolutely it's really my favorite pastime I was like what do you like to do for fun that and they showed the greatest one of the greatest Comedy clips of all time on TV oh the gone with the win sketch when when she comes down just to Scarlett O'Hara and she's wearing the curtain and the curtain rod makes the show oh I remember that and and Harvey Corman has read Butler says I love your dress or whatever it is and she says yes I just had it hanging around you laugh like the Dickens every time you see it you know it's coming you've seen it 150 times and you'll laugh again anyway yeah I'm not ready for hanging jokes just yet um so the Matt Gala if you know you know and she said it I didn't that's my friend Lisa Bates knew exactly what I was dealing with last week and she was like Hey get there I was like that's rather inappropriate oh my gosh I you have to laugh you have to laugh just like I was watching the Met Gala photos this morning and looking through the fact that Jared Leto dressed like a cat why is this event an event anymore the theme was Carl Lagerfeld who was the most disgusting human being alive the man was wretched I didn't know that he was fat phobic transphobic anti-me2 movement hated people like he was just not a nice person and he was honored at the Met gal he wasn't honored at the Matt he was the theme of them and he was just as you described him I would imagine most of the people showing up to the Met Gala would protest about him well I was hoping that they would flip it a little bit but I mean I I just didn't get the outfits and then Jared Leto showed up as a cat and maybe I'm just not artsy enough to understand but who is the guy I wasn't impressed who's the guy painted in silver oh um Lil Nas X actually I kind of like that outfit it's definitely him though he barely had pencils no he had no yeah he just wore his banana hammock there that he had everything spray painted in glitter and gold um silver but that's how he dresses normally like that's his regular stick he goes on stage dressed as that so that's not even a departure from what he would normally wear on stage oh so so he's one of those people that if the police are after and someone said it someone barely were enclosed that guy it's Lil nasaks probably yes okay oh I love it and the greatest bad transition in media thank you Greg super awkward Aaron Aaron I'm trying to be cool I really am there's nothing cool about it it's bad I thought the Kardashians weren't going to be there they were there annoying um the one that I did like Wednesday Adams looked just like Wednesday Adams Jenna Ortega so yep who's the one who was all wrapped up and they kept unwrapping her and unwrapping her and oh I don't even know what that one was okay I didn't see it as I only saw photos of everybody I didn't actually watch oh yeah the red carpet for the Met Gala once again I taped it but I have zero time to even watch it my husband's like what is this crap in the DVR I'm like oh no I had every intention of watching it it sounds like you know just about everything that happened yeah well I saw most of the photos um lizzo looked great um Doja cat actually dressed up like a cat not like Jared Leto catch or just a cat face okay okay so she looked like the lady that had all that plastic surgery to look like a cat oh lovely so it was just her face that was a cat but she also normally dresses up in weird Prosthetics and weird yeah like this is her regular thing like she would do this on a Tuesday regardless yeah even though the mat is on a Monday I I don't I cannot even begin to understand this Gala I just think of Anna Wintour is also the Devil Wears Prada horrible woman so right yeah I remember the year Tom Brady and and Gisele went yeah and she had him wearing some costume speckled and gold and okay but Tom still looks cute and Tom still looks like himself I mean what they were like way over the top no no but I bet if he looks at those pictures now and said same to himself why did I do this why did I do this why did I do this for her anything for Giselle I miss you Giselle they've been quiet they've been really quiet curious what's happening in that land over there I still don't think it's over you know what I don't either I have just this weird suspicion that this is just kind of a little bit dramatic right now but they'll get back together right that they needed a break yeah maybe you know she needed to learn jiu jitsu everybody has their Hobbies Hank that's right that's right I saw that now that since we've got Sports gambling here uh all over Massachusetts that there was this article about things you can do to assuage your gambling addiction one of which was listen to Nature Sounds foreign oh I don't want to gamble anymore thanks Hank here we go all right you've cured me call me anytime you know where to find me maybe I oh I can see the correlation though sitting there listening to oh rtb I saw it in the window and I just couldn't resist thank you um putting on some nature sounds could it's it makes everybody feel a little calmer that's right that's right I don't know if it's going to make you not do the things that you want to do but but you know who I'm surprised who's appearing in um a lot of the commercials he's appearing in a lot of commercials anyway and he's great he's Kevin Garnett yeah we'll play for the Celtics oh hold on hey apparently you don't know what I do for a living I'm I'm busy I'll call you back bye that was like my kids they just don't care taking the phone call we're all friends here my God oh my goodness they just they don't care I'm just that person that gives the money and feeds them puts a roof over their heads we forgot what that they were supposed to bring to school and they're looking for you and the babe to bring it to them oh that's all of them oh that's all of them no no no no but that call who was I mean did they forget something no my son I'm sure I'm sure he left something behind right normally I got a text or like a mess of mum but that was a full-on call so I'm sure she needed something immediately right he'll bother my other one and I think he's busy today too so you believe how to lock Sol kid I'll talk to you in 20 minutes I can't Hank I just oh you know moms and dads thank you for doing the things that you do caregivers I think today is I saw something about national uh foster care day I do want to make mention of Lauren out there with the places and also our great friends over at kind hearts for kids that just open their fabulous new play facility and I want to send more information about it Lauren if you can drop it in the chat about what's going on over there they do wonderful things for our foster care kids and also the caregivers that sign up to be foster parents and make sure that they have stuff that that you don't normally think of and you do a wonderful job and I know um Nicole Mitchell does just such a fantastic way of organizing all of that and I wanted to honor you today I know those national days get really obnoxious and I can't even remember but I saw it today and I wanted to specifically mention Nicole Mitchell and kind hearts for kids because I know that they just do so much wonderful things for our community that sounds like a great program this may not be a good segue but back to Lily's book yes yes the person who was the director she was 20 years old yes and she was my daughter actually went to school with her my daughter was in seventh grade doing plays at the high school and she was a graduating senior really so they got to spend a year together on the stage I think it was Pride and Prejudice that Lily was in that was a long one yeah I was I know parents were supposed to show up and be like Oh my kid was so good and I'm like and I have to do this three times I've seen it once I know right but that's where she met the director who has already graduated with her Fine Arts degree came back and is working on that she's going out to LA to work for the screenwriters guilds not right now I know I'm like oh are they on strike I don't know in and then and then just one more thing about the play there are those people who think that the rules don't apply to them when the play started please no flash photography it it can it can um distract the actors um you know they they might get hurt yada yada yada and there's some mom standing up going flash flash dude she had to get it out it's like clearing the chamber it's like she had to get a bounce it's like it's like really your kid's on stage you've heard no flash photography because it's distracting and they might get hurt and you're standing up and you're taking pictures oh it's not a suggestion Maybe it's you no people are awful I can't good morning Stephanie I'll call them back on speaker yeah I should have too there you go and if you lose all your money gambling you'll end up homeless and nature sounds will keep you honest thank you Seraphina I like the psychology of why nature sounds keep us from gambling right I wonder how many people are actually doing it what nature sounds or gambling well nobody's gambling on what's happening in Boston sports right now we're not going to talk about it oh my goodness Tom Tom Karen who is um probably the lead Sports guy on on uh on Nessun posted something last night I think on his on his Twitter account about um about watching Boston Sports lately and it was something like I'd rather be punched in the face repeatedly and watch these games yeah yep tough it was a tough day Celtics literally threw away the game last night when I left them they were up handily so I don't know what happened afterwards I was I was as well I went to the Red Sox who came they come back again and they and they won again but Celtics game melkin Malcolm broadran thought he was I don't know who he thought he was passing it to he threw it directly to a player for the 76ers who scampered Vega unchallenged for slam dunk and and when asked why the none of the Celtics went after him um Jason Tatum said oh we thought it was the uh time clock violation foreign Sports I can't the thing that I do know about sports I saw that Snoop Dogg is thrown himself into the ring for buying a piece of the Ottawa Senators really yep he's got the funds oh yeah oh yeah and Snoop Dogg on Ice guys come on come on it's like close they're not to laugh Snoopy on ice Snoop Dogg on Ice there you go but they're all buying sports teams they're they're all buying English soccer teams yeah I let no well that one that one's um Welsh oh okay I'm sorry Ryan Reynolds yes yeah I loved that show by the way that was one that I stopped down to watch I I still haven't seen the new season of Ted lasso once again haven't had a chance to do so Sports stink I agree Don I try I used to be really into it I used to be really into football then pandemic game and ever everything in my life sort of just changed yeah I don't know about anybody else I'm just navigating this new Stephanie yeah I'm totally different it's weird yeah and and that last week was the draft Patriots apparently had a really good draft they drafted some really top-notch guys he cares yeah nobody cares no it's just not as intense as it used to be and I I'm just not interested no I have a feeling on Sundays we'll turn the game on will we sit down and watch it no probably not we'll do something else and have the game on in the background I I just don't think that that commitment is there which given the insanity of the commitment for so many years stop it Saturday up the insanity I mean you wouldn't go anywhere you would you would plan your weekends on all the Patriots game I know it's so true you know we would plan open Murray would plan open houses uh um you know on a Sunday she want to have it first thing she'd do is she'd look okay when's the Patriots game yeah so she did it always before the Patriots game because once the Patriots game came on no matter how great the house was nobody was coming it's true yeah even Lauren says she's like yeah I don't know who this person is Green Thumb flower bird watching just we're we're just different people now right I've accepted it I don't know who she is but I kind of like her I'll deal with that just a totally different person right and with that you might get a different person with uh with us tomorrow I'll be back with Lisa hopefully we'll be able I haven't talked to her since she went to California she's she's been she's been out in the world so I'll be curious to have a chat
