up now yep yep I had a I had a time going back to it just opened up normally it makes me sleep better no not no and also my husband's obsession with Law and Order is taking on a new turn D I don't sleep he's still watching it yes I wake up in the middle of the night I'll shut it off I'll close my eyes for two minutes and all of a sudden it's back on and he's awake he's a TV sleeper and it makes me crazy oh okay it's not good okay Mari is sometimes a TV sleeper not not not a lot well it's causing me to explore separate bedrooms at this point in time they say at a certain age like however it is I think I'm down for separate bedrooms right and people say it actually improves their relationship so well I thought the CPAP Nea machine was going to be the change but it wasn't oh so the CPAP machine is going and he's watching TV yeah but you know what the CPAP makes the snoring less so I'll take that little like like gentle noise but doesn't that make a noise or something not really the going to be um some March Madness in Providence for those of you who are u basketball freaks I'm sure the tickets are already sold out it's the am Mutual Pavilion now oh the dunk is no the yeah right can't imagine why they gave that up that was such a it's called money a promotional thing for them yeah but am is a big big company in in Rhode Island yeah so they employ a lot of people and I guess they had some had some money to I wasn't there I saw a comedian there last year it's still very nice it's organized it's small it's easy to get to oh yeah oh no it's nice it's a nice spot and you're close to it's easy parking close to Federal Hill you can go find something to eat pretty easy food's walkable you know no it's not bad some of the some of the bar restaurants right in the area the Irish place and a couple of others they're good they're good too no it's a it's a good place it's a good place to go Mari says it's always called the Providence Civic Center wood oh my God yes like Great Woods is always great we can't change it right what is great woods now I don't even know com exfinity exfinity maybe it was the last time I checked okay the xinity center okay maybe that's it that sounds right to me the ement deals around here ridiculous Hank and I are also looking for an endorsement deal I'm looking for an endorsement deal from Callaway please thank you just golf ball any I have a new set of clubs for your clubs I'm just looking for golf balls that's it it's the little things and then you know maybe a glove or some teas but um you know golf balls would be good because I lose a lot of them we have our golf tournament coming up and uh it's for our Scholarship Foundation so it goes to support the Mas High School seniors it's a May okay Cinco de Mayo this year so on the back burner it's that Willow Bend okay sometimes courses are really cool but they're just they're just too big too hard Willow Bend is one of them you got a cart let somebody else do the heavy it's okay but it was sweet that I was nominated um nominated me thank you very much the awards are uh are coming in I checked on them yesterday isn't that when when I would do things at some of the places that I work like the Boys and Girls Club stressful and we'd be having dinners and you order the awards and that was one of the biggest stressors I'm I was so going get here in time are they going to get here in time well um it was really funny because I thought well we'll use Amazon right right on back bye get out of here and then well it was Susie who still works at the chamber office and she goes oh no we made that mistake last year no no no I'm like okay let me find a local company so I found a lovely Local Company in South Yarmouth I'll promote them when I see the awards yeah or she'll talk about them either way one or the other no but they look really good and I think they're going to come out wonderful so I'm looking forward to uh just having them in my hands so I can stress less a little less about that situation right like when you order things you're like oh God please come out the way you envision them right yeah that's always yeah that's always tough always we for that yeah it's really cool the reason why um I brought up our question today is what makes someone instantly attractive more attractive and I think a good smile it's disarming it's it's comforting when you see somebody with a great smile you're like oh I'm gonna be okay right it makes them a little bit more attractive too someone with a good personality yeah well you can't see that no that's Placid ouch yesterday's question of the day with the kids in the car was very interesting two boys in a back seat yeah what does the prophylactic feel like oh no so T just gets on the thing and she's laughing at the camera and she's like I don't know how she's answering these questions with the straight face does it feel sticky and my girlfriend Julie without missing a beat responds with on the outside a little and just kept driving oh my goodness oh God help parents of kids with questionable ages and questions that they want answered right I'm sure there are a lot of them thank you very much YouTube wow wow now my girls watched Wicked yesterday how was that they loved it you didn't go huh no musical for you no we had it at home they watched it at home oh okay they got popcorn and candy and everything else you didn't jump in way too long for me to sit still way too long so you like standing around them hovering no actually I I I took a nap and um yeah that's a long nap they said it was they said yes it was I didn't realize I was that tired but I slept pretty much through most of it and then I got up and I went to the dining room table and I was doing some work and I started asking questions which is why they don't want me there never mind I don't have the patience to watch it when I'm watching it I'm asking who's this who's that why did they do this I'm a real pain in the butt when I when you're watching movie you don't say yes you don't you don't want to watch a movie with me you really don't you're an interruptive movie Watcher oh yeah I have questions about everything isn't that somebody where did that come from if you were watching instead of asking questions you'd know I'm waiting for the second one to come out to adjust the whole thing all at once that's what she said hi Lenor Don they've got to know John said they were in the back seat with them sex head needs to be taught by seven or eight yeah please can we teach it in the schools cuz I don't know I could feel those questions as a parent let them learn that somewhere else so it's not so awkward well Mariana had the movie in fifth it's usually like first or third grade right somewhere around there I remember when she had it and and Mari was picking her up and she got in the car and she was all you know she said she saw the movie and then she talked about it a little bit and then she said they for some reason they put the boys and the girls together I don't know why oh we got separated for the birds and the bees conversation yes and she said there was one boy who was just about crying saying I want to go home I want to go home I want to go home he wanted nothing to do with it it's probably my husband little cliff in the making like yeah young Cliff instead of young Sheldon yeah want to go home me out of here he wanted out of there badaro that is too funny let a couple parents you know signed them out of it and Lenor let him learn it on the streets like we did wrenched away from us the morning gets plunged Into Darkness again and it's a whole another month before we get forward I don't appreciate the afternoons I've never adjusted yeah I've never adjusted to to whatever the hell we're in now yeah so I'm looking forward to it going back so at least I'm waking up at the right time yeah and not an hour early and there's one clock the the clock that's to charger it's on my side of the bed I never figured out how to change the time so it's been wrong for the last umpty ump months you're looking forward to Daylight Savings time so that your clock can be right now yes that's right I have simple Simple Pleasures simple simple things make me happy amazing what's up Gloria oh have we got a couple of crazy crimes for you today yes we do allow me to find them friends how are things in Canada I hope well are experiencing a warmth I know you're not coming to visit us here on the cape so we have we have a couple of couple of crazy crimes here that are you know let me see some special people in Sandwich I know that there was a Texas man that went into a Tiffany's jewelry store and then stole $770,000 worth of jewelry but he pretended to be an NBA player and then when they were showing it to him he just swallowed the diamonds what right in front of the people call police and he ran away now that's crazy crime a caller reported an elderly man yelling at an elderly woman in the parking lot of a local business officers reported the man was a mechanic and he was actually yelling at the car he was working on which was likely an old while wow is it getting a little out of control I say yes yes now this is this is kind of a kind of a sad story but officers were dispatched to a residents who reports of an abandoned landscape trailer the property owner had been approached by a man weeks prior who said the trailer trailer had a mechanical issue and he would be back for it officers investigated and learned that the owner had recently passed away ouch awkward w w then there's the then there's the restaurant that officers had to respond to that's a bizarre one and sandwich there say what restaurant let me see if I can guess go yes because there was an unwanted guest a woman had come into the restaurant looking for kitchen employee when it formed the staff member was unavailable the woman left drove her around the Plaza then returned demanding to see her friend the woman was told to leave and not return and after exchanging words police were called okay I wonder what restaurant it is I have my guesses can we can we can we guess on the air no we do not do that hi I'm Stephanie I am the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce we support all businesses right well we know it's not Bobby burs okay it's not Bobby Burns and sandwich yeah is there one in sandwich no no not anym there you go it's just it's just it's just vacant and I don't know some good crimes I saw the first sighting of Loch Ness of 2025 has been spotted really the picture along with it same thing same I don't know kind of fuzzy you get a very eerie feeling we were driving along lock now and we pulled over because I was like I just want to put my feet in it yeah and did someone obviously not we were looking for Nessie for hours uh but I did put my feet in it but there's some it's just this weird Fishbowl very very long drive like once you commit to making this drive around Lock Des it is a very very long drive so you're kind of out there it's a little bit Eerie it's not full of traffic it's just qu kind of quiet some I mean I'm sure it is sometimes it had it wasn't on the day that we happened to be going through that area but not highly trafficked like I thought it would have been a bigger tourist season situation um so maybe it's just exactly that that Eerie feeling you get when you're alone in the woods yeah then all of a sudden your mind starts playing tricks on you however there is a photo that goes along with what Nessie is oh yeah I'm sure there's something in there well it's been it's been around for a very long time at this point well obviously not the same one animals breed who knows who knows I saw last week or the week before um a picture of a turtle that was born In 1832 okay and it is still alive interesting yes honest to God 1832 how do they age something like that the Rings I don't know we counted the Rings the turtle told us right 18 1832 it's pretty impressive just one of those ancient kind of big thing and they don't really do much right no they just kind of hang out we exist forever yeah hi they don't expend a lot of energy yeah they don't have a lot to worry about there's no stress so maybe that's why they live forever let's Channel your inner Turtle today everybody okay our friend Turtle just sent me a photo from Key West she's a a Friday night frequenter of uh our Friday night social at dinos and she's she's in Key West enjoying it Turtle found Turtles like thank thank you thank you you know that's the highlight of my inbox right now because I'm being spammed insane amounts from everything I do from email to social media to my phone now with text messages and everybody's just the AI spam Bots are out and force you know it stopped for a while the message that messages that you were getting that you hadn't paid your toll that stopped for a little bit that's back now yeah oh it's just it's it's it's it's insane just be careful what you click on though only thing that I can say to you and delete delete delete spam story of my day delete spam delete exactly I'm going even sure mea can keep up keep up with it I'm not sure mea wants to I yeah I feel like they they're like good luck to you bye yeah it was very funny I had a moment yesterday I got to go to the mash P archives really so I went over to the mash P archives I hung out with Richard I had our two Mash B High School senior workers with us very cool and Rachel and Noah it was like I was we pulled up and they said I haven't been here since third grade wow speaking of the birds and the bees conversation I'm like all right well what' you learn here and uh they're like no we just remember it fondly we don't remember anything okay so we got to go in there and hang out with Richard a little bit and he gave us a tour he is writing a nice article about what they have planned for tourism season here in mash and our one it's our most oldest historic spot right that one room Schoolhouse here in Mash has been around and um the the story of how the wamp and ogs worked with the the government how they separated how they signed their own Declaration of Independence and uh some of the great photos and maps that they have in there are pretty cool we got to go down where they have everything climate controlled and check out some old Maps cash registers that looks like they have been around since the beginning of America's uh just some interesting very cool things in there so I definitely suggest that you head on over and make an appointment I think Mondays and Tuesdays they're opening in the spring full time and then they'll have some of the other houses and they also do a really good job of putting up the flags and banners for our veterans that served mashpi um and they're obviously looking for some funding there they've got their Big Spring campaign that's coming up right but uh Richard was uh regaling us with all of the fun little things and did you know that Mash p had a Cap Cod Baseball League team I did not I did not either and we won really in 1948 I saw the little trophy it's kind of too bad to neither sandwich nor Mash p as a Cap Cod league baseball team because there are enough people living here yeah who would who would support it well that's why neighbors is the kuit kers but our found with commodor yeah they're about equidistant yeah but we should have one of our own I would like one the mash pie sandwich something around this or the sandwich maspie something around oh yeah maybe now sandwich messed around with um having a c card league baseball team they had for a couple of years there was one game a year at the high school that was supposedly maybe a precursor to see if the town would support and there was a huge crowd but then nothing ever became of it yeah because they've got the great facility up at Sandwich high and they do here well in mashby and that's pretty much where they play so be nice want to mash be because whichever player is going to be staying with you we just have to he could walk really I'm trying to talk my husband into getting a Cape Cod Baseball League gent and uh he's like uh I don't know I don't know if we're going to be able to feed because we have you're in charge of feeding them it could be someone that's very specific about their diet or it could be someone that just eats all day either way I'm used to it with my son what's the difference right and his buddies I'm feeding extra boys as it is so whatever I just thought it would be good for my son to see how a Collegiate athlete lives yeah and and what their routine is sure just to say hey buddy you know you talk a good game but are you able to make that commitment yeah yeah I think it'd be a learn a learning summer for sure no it it' be fun going to a Cape Cod League baseball game is something that's always on our list yeah and we never do it well you're gonna make it because we've got a mash P Day this year at the Falmouth commodor and yours truly is going to be throwing out a first pitch I need to practice I have to tell you no no no no no no that's not that's not so farfetched what no I am I'm doing it oh I know no no no no but having a practice oh I do have to practice when when I worked for the Italian Renewable Energy company our our main office was an endover and we supported activities in Lowel including the LEL Spinners yeah and and we did advertising and other things for the loal Spinners and they said to me why you have your CEO come and throw out the first pitch now Tony was from Italy I never thought that Tony didn't know how to throw a baseball he didn't check on that I assumed every knows how to throw a baseball and when I told him he said you know the Italians very known for their baseball prow right you know I don't know how to BB so at the company picnic a couple of us got together and we were playing catch with Tony yeah to teach him how to throw a baseball too funny yeah but he did it it was an okay pitch yeah no he did okay okay but yeah we had we had to show him oh I definitely need to I've got CJ Kristen if you're out there I need to borrow your son so you can teach me how to throw this ball he's one of our high school Stars just don't just don't throw it like a girl just throw it what does that even mean some of those girls whip at like 102 miles an hour I know but then there are some people who do first pictures and my hand still stings from Joanna Derry you remember it in high school and I was the catcher don't make all your jokes go ahead make them when I was the catcher and I swear to God I had a whole season of her broken hand just because she was firing them in at like a 100 miles an hour and I refused to get another glove because I'm like no I will drop it this is the glove that works one full broken hand it was like except it was all it was all war and there was no P my hand oh exactly my hand was like this fat for an entire season I'm like it's fine everything's fine slightly broken no big deal we'll get through this hi Ruthie congratulations to our boys and girls club uh for winning Community impact award we are so excited to honor all of the people that make it happen over at the Boys and Girls Club coming up this Thursday and uh Ruthie you are pivotal in making the the staff just shine they school vacation week we just survived one we got another one coming up but there is nowhere else that you can get the amount of attention and continue to work and have a regular day without having the boys and girls club in your life when you've got kids of a certain age and they just need to be entertained right worst thing a parent can hear a grandparent can hear is I'm bored because you can already see the dollar signs flying out your window right and also it's like what are we going to do how are we going to Magic up some excitement to get you off your devices yes and doing stuff yeah oh yeah oh it's tough it's tough and and it's tough because the only way they communicate with each other now is they're online yeah so it's not like why don't you go join something do this BEC well because they're they're playing a game at two o'clock or right whatever it's n so I don't I don't know these kids you get it done oh yeah we try you do a good job we try thank you uh she said thanks but it's all the staff they Rock yes they absolutely do hi Don Mr Blackwell I have a very hard time calling you that oh my God hi Don right wow I know Mari has the same problem what she has to call him Mr Blackwell well also because I was friends with his daughters but also because he was my teacher and you and Mrs Blackwell are forever Mrs Blackwell I just can't call them Tammy and Don right I can't do it I I mean I I know him in a different in a I mean I didn't have him in school right because they didn't replace Parts yes it's like a car yes well worn just get a new one of those get that one tuned up I still have all of mine that's good and you just had a checkup so at least you're taking care of yourself so we that's right y right I do want to make mention of the fact that I am um we have a healthc care discount being a chamber member so I I had somebody for the first time look into it and I was like I am very excited it's first time for me right to have to like dig up this stuff I'm new to the job guys I've only been doing this now for about two months fulltime I bet it seems like forever it does and it doesn't yeah because also I'm like oh we've never crossed that bridge what fresh hell awaits for me on the other side let's do it yeah it is uh it is a learning curve and we're doing some fun things coming up in March we have got our first lunch and learn we've teamed up with Ember marketing which is one of our entrepreneur memberships which is available so uh please reach out to us if you're a new business or something new in town don't necessarily have to have a brick and mortar to be a part of the chamber but it's a nice little lunch and learn the chamber's going to pay for your lunch over at UA and then we're going to learn a little skill whatever be there both me and Miss Mari I'm looking forward to it so that was one of the things that I was having conversation with Richard over at the mash P archives yesterday was just how do we connect and he said well we've got a Facebook and then we all started laughing all of us high school kids them they're like we're feeling you know it's it's difficult when you get older and like Facebook is now where the olds go right you got to goag you gotta go to Instagram so it's Instagram that's where the the mid-range go but there are ticktockers and snapchatters and short form video is still winning yes no matter what you're doing you can put that on your Facebook by the way yeah but oh yeah short form video and YouTube is the place where shortterm like short videos are making the biggest impact yeah now we have today real estate has a YouTube channel that I haven't paid a lot of attention to lately that I have to put back it's the number one platform everyone is using it's the number one platform when people do research they don't they don't Google as much they go to YouTube and look stuff up well if you want to learn how to physically do it exactly yeah never would have thought for wiring projects for stuff when I'm looking when things are broken I'll look up a video to see if I can fix it I try I try not to bother my husband exactly this is my main goal how much do I not want to bother my husband today on a scale of one how long will it take me to research this or can I just call Cliff I'm getting better about just not leaning into him because and when you ask Cliff no offense Cliff he probably looks at goes boom boom boom exactly right I know and I love your buddy really but and I'm also technically trained so I do have enough to do to do danger but this is not my bread and butter this is not my space yes sometimes I make it worse than it was beforehand oh Mari hi Mr Donald Blackwell such a great teacher yep too fun yep very cool that he's he checked in so you guys uh are in talks to do something a little fun I'm not going to let any cats out of the bag but I'm here on uh mbtv that I think people will enjoy so there's this new thing that they're calling Panda parenting Panda parenting pray tell what it's just basically letting your kid sort of roam around what it is that they need to do but then still being there nearby but you're not interrupting them oh catching the fall but just letting them do the things you know the helicopter parents you know the parents that do everything for the kids but as a society teaching we have stopped letting our kids make mistakes and this is the this new thought of kind of like what our parents used to do oh my we had just let us wander around and then TV commercial to remind you it's 10 p.m. to Know Where Your Children Are yes there was oh my goodness there was this was very different that's that's different that's abandonment that's a very different space that's right oh my God from Panda parenting wow right yes there was hey reminder you've got kids where are they where are they hysterical public service announcement from blah blah blah blah blah this is 100% real I would be go I could be gone as long as I was home for dinner or bedtime or whenever my mother got out of the hospital which was 11: p.m I was fine because my dad was one of those mother was working in the hospital correct thank you correct um and Dad worked at uh 7 in the morning till 5:00 pm sometimes on call so when he came home he ate and slept it's not his fault he was exhausted and Mom had the opposite schedule so there was really no I could have done anything and I'm surprised you didn't I was good I was the oldest I was the one making sure everybody else did the right things I was the boss that made you resp I was prematurely a parent didn't like it was not I did not enjoy it it was stressful but you've warmed up to Parenthood however yes well that was it I said I was never going to have kids are you kidding me okay yeah and here I am with all of the kids I know got kids all over the place I've got kids that aren't even mind I've adopted these my my new Mash B workers they're fabulous though but I treat them like my kids and I can't help it right did you get that are we going there are you okay what are boat rescue and two Fire Department people went out there and got him Y and at first I didn't realize the driver was still in it I know it but but but at first when people saw the picture people going oh this is AI this is blah no it wasn't boys and girls right yeah I was like and the driver was still in there yeah that's Panic yeah that's just your panic I don't want to abandon the vehicle this is my work vehicle it's not even my vehicle now I'm GNA get in trouble to see and then all of a sudden you're in the middle of the ocean that is not the best day of work no no not at all yeah that was that was pretty that was pretty strange you had I guess it was the first time he had been down there in that area I would assume I hope so yeah you should have known better yes you had um yesterday was lent yes at start of Lent Ash Wednesday I tried what do you mean you tried I tried to do the right thing but I thought Mass was at 9 o00 and and I showed up in time for Mass 9:00 it started at 8:30 so you were the disruptive so I missed Ash getter I missed the ashes oh okay because father Healey they used in my experience what I remember ashes used to be at the end of mass yeah he did it like in the middle of mass oh so I stayed till the end I figured I'll get credit for at least I knew it I wanted to even say it did you get credit for it even if you didn't get ashes he's showing up so you know and I you get partial credit you got to see right and I and I did the no me thing yesterday and I mean I'm old enough now that I'm off the hook for most of the rules yeah but listen to this one he's old when he can Flex it for something I'm gonna try otherwise he's young Sprite chicken but I have a great list okay of things you can give up and and some of these are good whether you're doing whether you're doing lent or not I was trying to flip it and be positive but I mean I really feel like I should focus on something so give us give us the list stop fidgeting with your taking a picture taking a picture pay attention to the people you're with I've got a bone to pick with that one pay attention to where you are don't always and I see it with the kids with with younger people they're always in that setting I would say yes however I was at a conference this week and this woman was whipping through slides I mean she was just on a I was like yes so then I just put on my camera and I put it on record right yeah so I didn't miss any of the slides that she was putting up because it was valuable information in there but for whatever reason she was click happy and also someone who didn't talk into a microphone and it was it was pain it was painful oh dear so painful for me and here's the final One Stop Doom scrolling oh I think we're all guilty of that just a little bit but this would be a good opportunity to say right I'm going to stop Doom scrolling is that giving something up or is that doing something positive for your mental health well see it can be see when we were raised of course lent was a very negative thing but the thinking has kind of has kind of turned and it it also can be positive in terms of doing some kind of self-improvement yeah you know so like don't Doom scroll anymore don't be up in the middle of the night G believe me these days you don't wantd the night you know I've got to stop going to CNN in the middle of the night and go oh my God no that is not where I go in the middle of the night although I mean I'm in a Law and Order episode so I can't help you every 20 minutes of my life I'm like what is happening here y it's got
