saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I really sto at CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual proud of it hello and good morning good morning good morning boys and girls word to the wise it's going to be 60 later on today but right now it's cold it's not gonna be 60 in my house I'll tell you that right now no no so so if you're thinking you're GNA go outside and just start your car and drive away uh the windshields are iced over give yourself a couple of minutes the good times yes I thought I was just going to bounce right out of the house this morning and I came I went oh see because we have a onecar garage and know whose car goes in the garage well at least you know your place Hank yes I do it's all good yeah it's not warm in my house by any stretch of the imagination um Saturday I noticed I went downstairs making the kids breakfast I'm like it's cold in here we'll make waffles I'll warm up here this way and uh it took me all day to realize that the furnace was broken so yeah Sunday we ordered some parts and Monday tried to fix it and then realized those those parts are they don't make them anymore so we had to call our furnace friend shout out to our friend Ryan I really appreciate you Ryan thank you for saving our bacon yet again he sounds like what he screaming down here with the bump Us's dogs really was channeling my inner what what movie is that oh I don't remember a Christmas story thank you it took me a a solid three minutes my brain is just not working well your brain is Frozen uh well that has been my life everything has been breaking such as um Sunday I noticed that my laptop wouldn't turn on which of course is very I left it in the care of my husband while they went on to do another gig and I'm like What's oh it's just dead you got to charge it that's not a good charger that won't charge it charged the whole time I was at knockout ended up having to use my phone for my live and I'm like what's going on here turns out no it's really truly broken so we had to send it off Apple took it away from me and now I'll have it by the end of the week do you you know what it's like resetting your entire life and remembering your passwords to just anything I can't do it your workflow nope can't do it so he like just use the gig laptop this thing has nothing on it oh nothing that you need no I spent the full day yesterday trying to access three businesses worth of things right what's the password what's the password password password password password and here's the code you have to put in and now and now that you put the code in we're going to send you an email to make sure that you put the pass but I didn't have access to that email so this was my whole day this was my whole day yesterday which by the way is just dumb but whatever I understand the security thing but wow so yeah I'm I'm super safe for myself so that's good well that's good you can't get on and screw anything up someone else might but you can't for crying out loud Hank it was just that day that I just at least I got some errands done right that I needed to get done out of the house because I got you know not that every week isn't a busy week but this one's kind of like a an important busy week for me because you've got your annual meeting this week I know it's my first time ever doing this so I'm a little bit nervous and I'm gathering all the pieces you'll be fine um yeah it's not like you haven't gotten up and spoken in front of people before no but I feel like the expectation is different the expectation of me for me is different oh I see and then just doing things properly you know what I mean and making sure that people are informed people have a good time we've got a new initiative rolling out for Restaurant Week I roll out the dates of restaurant week then immed mediately we've got to change the dates of the restaurant we because I put the wrong ones down that sounds like something I do my what the hell and then uh I sent out a message because we've got a fun little Mash B Commons Market that is happening preseason it's actually Small Business Week that we're going to be doing it inside the commons where we shut down a street okay and uh I I put 1200 a.m instead of 12 p.m. 12 p.m. okay so of course one of my vendors immediately took a screenshot and sent it to me thank you thank you she appreciated it really wonderful listen really she did I got in to be able to send that so that's all I have to say you a little bit over we went to the Irish thing Saturday very cool lots of fun isn't Ireland the band great yes they're so fantastic and and and I'm glad Eva saved me from the meatballs so so we got to the Irish thing and there's a plate I know there you know a table of food and and there's meatballs and I'm thinking Irish meatballs I don't know but they're these tiny little meatballs so I needed a little snack so I grabbed a bunch put them on my plate they're like this big and I just go to pop one in my mouth and Eva says you know those are really spicy I mean really spicy she saved my life well I'm glad that we didn't have to call the uh rescue this year yes because that has happened before Oh they've eeden the meatballs no it wasn't the meatballs poor Uncle Bob said off his Life Alert on the Dance Floor one year and then all of a sudden the paramedics were rushing in oh yeah I had to bring it up on the microphone because Bob was up there singing and dancing and I was like you better be careful over there Bob you don't need another incident like we had a couple years go right and Mike Milbury was there how fun is that right you know I was G to ask him for a picture excuse me thank you I was gonna ask him for a picture because you know he's a bruin and all of that and then I just looked at him and I thought you know what he's too big and he looks too mean that's what deterred you yes he's too big and too mean well didn't he look kind of hulky you know he he didn't seem to be the kind of guy that I could tap on his shoulder and say hey I'm with Stephanie could we do a selfie I think he would have punched me in I think that's funny yeah Jim um Jim Kylie who organizes this event every single year for Dana Farber came over and he's like Mike milbery is here do you think we should mention it or should we just leave him alone I'm like I say we just leave him alone yeah leave him alone let him enjoy his day now does he live there I do not know if he's a regular resident of new seaby but I wouldn't be surprised because I thought he lived at the ridge Club maybe or maybe he came on over to visit us you know those golfing communities chatter oh I know and all the hockey players play golf so yeah exactly yeah no I was surprised to see him and you know I'm a fan but not that much of a fan and Jim got very excited he's like I got my hockey jersey on too I'm like you go go talk to him if you want to go talk to I don't need to announce it on the loudspeaker yeah but the hockey jersey said um it was Irish yeah it was some beer thing right it was Guinness it was a Guinness hockey jersey not exactly a real hockey jersey I mean it was a real hockey jersey it was just beginner logo good morning Mr Chris ball thanks for joining us on the show good different oh I don't know but Mari and I are going to be starting a monthly program called how's the market I love it we're gonna be talking about real estate obviously and and in particular real estate in in Mash B because you know people are always interested the first question that we get asked when people there's no commercial real estate in mashby just in case you're wondering right but the but the first question people always ask is when they realize that we're Realtors is so how's the market yeah so I thought well that's the title for the show right and and we'll talk about things ourselves and and we'll have some guests on and and hopefully we'll help people well I'm sure there are a lot of questions right now as far as got to be yeah when when when is the market really going to settle down it's it's they're calling for the inflation now it's here's the thing folks life goes on yep if you need a new house you need a new house if you need to sell your house you need to sell your house I mean that's that's in the end what it comes down to life goes on we saw that during the pandemic with a number of things yeah life goes on yeah year round resident on finance committee not even one that I made it's just one that I shared that made me laugh calling your bestie and crying it was a will feral and Anchor Man sort of real that went off but I shared one this morning that made me laugh because it was like Boston with potholes and it started off with Sweet Caroline and then all of a sudden it hit a pothole so hard yeah that his whole like Dash exploded I was like 100% for whatever reason when you leave cape Cod and places on Cape as well the roads are so bad right now right and the way the temperatures are right now that's why the rose are it's cold and then it's tremendously warm and then it's cold again and it just and how are they doing on this 151 out here where where where we live I so enjoy our Towny Pages good morning Jenny Jordan they tore down a forest of trees it did make me a little sad as I was driving by it yes every single day and I just look at it and I'm like oh but I guess they're they're building sidewalks and making the lanes larger or something it's also part of the sewering system as well so but every day someone doesn't miss a chance I know you've told me before but why are all these trees going down on one 51 I know every day tell you what if they told you before go back into the pages wait but there's a little circle over there that's a search find the answers like glattus there's a little search thing and then you just say trees 151 and I'm sure 75 other people's commentary will pop up right save yourself right just save us from seeing yourself right save yourself the embarrassment with people going what's wrong with you but there's always that one jerk you know what I mean that feels the need to be a troll I had a conversation with another um School mom friend of mine and she's just like I have trolls I have troll I had one that was on my side and one that was against me one that didn't even leave in the town and that was commenting on the things and I was like what is going on what is going on I said welcome to social media my friend it's aess poool we welcome you oh yeah sucessful it's it's and it's just so bad I I love it because I just read it and move on like you just shake your head and you're like wow this is wow and then it's Enlighten I find it enlightening but I thought we were talk about today as we're kicking off the show 10 little things the happiest people do every single day I think maybe you know we could learn a lesson okay there might be something in here we could take away with us that when things get a little crazy that we can just rest on these things always look on the bright side I try we try prioritizing your friendships the happiest people treat their close relationships as a non-negotiable rather than a nice to have okay schedule time with friends and focus on doing activities together a instead of just a quick catchup like plan something together okay resting strategically mentally exhausted go for a jog brain fried from analytical work do something creative with your hands the most content people know how to intentionally match what depleted them with their mode of recovery if you're tired you're supposed to go for jog yes it's apparently bolsters your energy oh okay Cliff swears by it now now he's been doing the little rowing machine a couple of days a week and he's like I've got a lot of energy right now I'm like that's nice I'll be napping right engaging in Creative work people who spend time on creative activities whether it's cooking writing gardening painting report significantly higher levels of happiness find something to do right right yeah no I find that's true I find that's true Jenny yep she said that making great moments on purpose cultivating Community the next time you feel stressed or overwhelmed reach out instead of pulling in help someone else or find a cause that fills you with a sense of purpose just dropping some volunteer opportunities at you at our MH P Farmers Market I have planned an entire month of social media yesterday that made my eyeballs want to bleed and like we need volunteers I've planned our board meeting that's coming up on April Fool's Day no it is not a joke we're having our first board meeting am I only yes you are okay just in case you're wondering okay I was gonna say welcome to the mashby uh um TV board but you've got another board that you're also on right right I I I thought I was but we've got all kinds of stakeholders so if this is something you might be interested in I will send you the link in Zoom or in person I'm trying to just get bodies involved I'm not trying to make it a heavy lift just remember her laptop is broken and this thing this is the K computer luckily it's clear but I'm gonna have to do this all again when they send me my new my my new cool they actively seek out things people and activities that light them up you know the enthus the enthusiasm that you get when you feel uh that you're doing an activity that you love so who cares our question today is what's something that no one looks cool doing we had some fun ones take out the trash bending over nakid you know some other fun ones why would you do that so that someone could never mind I don't know Hank maybe you thought you were looking seductive and my third roll popped out whatever I was laughing the other day cuz I was laughing out loud at a meme and my son's like what are you laughing at your Facebook memes and I was like yes sir I actually am here you go that was a cute picture of your kids by the way sitting at Separate Tables having breakfast oh 100% but they were talking to each other they were sending each other memes so they were sitting facing not each other they can they talk to each other not using words but through their phone correct they can be in the same room yes at the same table yes and someone thought that Cody was Cliff yeah right tell your husband tell your husband to put a shirt on no that's not my husband my husband is my husband's like a never nude do you remember that show I was Tobias where he was showering with all of his clothes on my husband's very private he would never walk around without a shirt on okay just boundaries research says we need two to five hours of free time every day for Peak happiness oh I don't think I come close to that two to five hours a day that's a lot of time what a free time what does that in ENT H this is what I'm wondering cuz my version of free time is also work I was going to say it's the same thing if I have free time there's something else that I can do to fill up the free time right happy people protect their me time and they know that those work emails can wait until a little bit later uh what else have we got managing their energy Happy People recognize their personal Peaks and valleys and scheduling demanding tasks when they're naturally most alert M and Recovery periods when there's a typical slump right if you're a morning person schedule stuff in the morning if you're an afternoon Napper I'm trying not to as much I think it's good for you though yeah I mean I enjoy it's it's something I've always been a napper I when even when I was younger when I come home from work I take a nap for like 20 minutes and then you know off I'd go because I had something else to do right um but I still I'm trying not to do it quite as quite as much but I don't know I like a good afternoon nap yeah it's just hard to get going again afterwards I if I go too long then that's it there I there I lay oh no I'm lucky I can bounce right up and say okay what's next which is kind of like pointless why don't you take the nap if you're going you know right back into it but yeah yeah yeah Christy you're right free time plus sleeping this is exactly what I need right more sleeping in my life embracing micro connections research show that random conversations with people you don't know consistently improve your mood that's fine I get the most random phone calls at the chamber all the time oh I bet you do I had this one lady from Minnesota that called me and asked if I would s yeah oh trust me I knew right away Minnesota yeah right away I knew I was like and we're not known for our colors no like for like a day or two and then yeah but if she's flying into Boston at the beginning of October she'll get a little something on the leaves yeah and she'll see yesterday unbelievable this is the other thrift shop in hyenas the first Thrift Shop is still not even open from the last time somebody plowed through and and now this one's off I wonder if it's the same people they drop offs you know dropping off our clothes right gas and break but it drove right through there luckily it didn't hit anything else other than the corner of the of the thrift shop but yeah apparently this is what we like to do is demolish thrift shops here on on kpod that seems to be a bit of a habit speaking of yes let me see if I can find this one got a little crazy crime for us I got a little crazy crime let me see I had one got always the sandwich police just a liver thank you very much for w there's one um I I'm I'm sorry I shouldn't have interrupted and said oh here we go you from the sandwich police it was a case of foot fault when a man smashed into an East Sandwich home the man was driving up his own driveway on approach to his home when he was unable to break in a panic he turned the wheel and drove into his house the man said he was not speeding or using his phone so no double fault there upon observing the vehicle our Ace investigator located a tennis ball under the brake pedal are you kidding me the item was likely at fault for preventing the man from applying proper pressure to the brake conclusion the vehicle sustained extensive damage but the building inspector found no structural damage whoopsies to the home does he have a dog or a ten have a tennis player I I don't know that does not say but I mean rolling around the car yeah how how would tennis fall ended up in the front in the in the front of the car and stuck under your sounds like something that would happen to me never know what the hell's flying around my car right now my husband's like what what even is in here it's usually games leftover games things from random gigs it's just a cornucopia of goodness back there Cornucopia right wow the big word for the day folks is us have done this but not go all the way okay okay what to quot a favorite movie you keep using that word I do not think it means what you think it means a property owner of a local business reported an abandoned vehicle in their parking lot a review of surveillance camera shows an individual parking that vehicle spending time in a business business then getting into another vehicle key fob in hand and leaving the premises officers contacted that individual who advised the vehicle was stolen but she had not yet reported it because of issues with her phone she was told by officers that surveillance video from the location clearly showed her activity of that afternoon the woman said she didn't see her car when she left and assumed the car was stolen what now we have I've done it probably more times than I should should admit forgotten where you parked yeah you you forget where you park but you keep looking and if you've got the fob you know you keep hitting it but she didn't call to report it stolen she just thought oh it was stolen I'm going to take an Uber home because she was having trouble with her phone oh but how did she call an Uber yeah I know girl your story stigs yeah but like I said we've all done that we parked the car and a b parking lot and you've walked out 100% you know the Hy small and you walk out and you go oh God but she's in Sandwich like where could you possibly be that you could not see your vehicle I can't think of a place big enough where you could not if you just walked up and down the roads you would you would find it might take what 10 minutes oh the good times yep Wisconsin four-year-old gets Frosty surprise after calling the cops on his mom for eating his ice cream I heard this one cute little thing can't be doing that kids how old is he he was like four yeah yeah an adorable four-year-old boy called the authorities on I don't think they thought he was adorable initi no no they they did they they brought him a frosty though he did eventually get his ice cream my mom is being bad he told the racing County dispatcher come get my mommy come get her and they probably figured oh my God what as the dispatchers tried to figure out what the problem was the boy's mother grabbed the phone explain why why she was in trouble I ate his ice cream that's why he's calling 911 so the next day the officer visited with a icy treat well that's very nice well brat that's very nice this kid's calling the cops on his mom she's got she's got a long way to go with this four-year-old I'll tell that right now he's gonna be trouble you do that again Ma you know what I'm gonna do totally Jenny says my job was crazy when I was juggling multiple jobs yeah it is three- ring circus in there I don't even know what's in there at this point in time but I could pretty much do any formulation of any sort of gig ever uh and uh we had one more another Colorado these are kids Colorado teen steals pizza delivery vehicle teenager from Colorado Springs arrested on Friday morning yep after allegedly stealing a pizza delivery driver's car he was looking for pizza no the police the pizza delivery guy went in to deliver left car riding all right but the kid who drove the kid who stole it wasn't looking for pizza too or he just no no no he just wanted to Joy Ride that's it in a pizza delivery car that's it hey well those are not usually top-of-the-line vehicles I don't think that they were just looking for that I think that just wanted to get away oh okay there you go because when you think pizza delivery car you don't think like Porsche no they smell like pizza forever even your own car smells like pizza bringing it home from the pizza store oh yeah you have to roll your window down great for like 2 days afterwards it smells that four-year-old should have been taken to the station and fingerprinted and scene I agree will brat all right so I saw that uh I'm not surprised by it but also I am surprised by it can you just renounce your US citizenship because apparently that's up 48% if that was a a thing so I suppose you can I I guess but then you have to go somewhere else to be a citizen so well it's just wild and crazy you just you know oh it is we're talking about things to make you happy always go back to that today no matter what's going on in your life right find your little piece of Happiness right wher wherever it may be yeah I don't even think we finished but savoring the good and then pursuing meaningful progress content people are always celebrating the small wins along their journey passport listen we all got to do what we got to do is Mari all set now or is it just you that's IL legal beagle you know Mari got her license yeah her her real ID LIC thing yesterday was still waiting on Megan and because otherwise Megan can't go to Florida with us in June crazy um it's it's you know and it's easy and and I think and and I know we waited to the to The Bitter End but it seemed like it was such a daunting thing to do it was like yeah when ioint with tri I time I have time well see we didn't think of that and we didn't know that otherwise we would have done that but I was like oh God go to the registry and they want all this paperwork and it's the registry oh we just happen to be renewing our passports at that time so we're like we have all the stuff like let's do this now yeah and got it all done at tripa our passports are next yeah you know for for the two of us and for the girls but um oh and my passport photo is so bad I was just so irritated that day and I was like yeah sure whatever and now I have they're bad by no this this is extra bad oh really oh it's extra bad oh okay I don't know whether I didn't moisturiz that day like a long stretch of a month like the jaw I just look so unhappy that day which is which is probably actually how you look when you have to go through customs anyway my rest yeah right you got the resting face what why do I have to go know and it's like doesn't can't somebody from the family do something yeah little creepy or or or or at least get on it and call it a memorial page for Robert oh pufferbillies no fun was had there dementia Center I said that that tracks right so now the people who went to the mhill club can liveed there right back at home if they of course remembered where they were they didn't remember where they were then no that's true that's really that's true it's about the same not much of a difference I thought it tracked yep I have some awesome memories of Pufferbellies right we all do some good ones some not so good ones my mother dancing in a cage what yep do you care to explain that I think I said all I need to say okay yep okay had very funny conversation with my dad in Florida yesterday where was reiterating a conversation that she had which she probably had been em bibing but he also hadn't been eming so I don't know what the two of them are doing in their retired life but they're really enjoying it so oh okay oh they're talking to each other uh because he was I don't know the excuses are great but it's always about us kids he's married yeah and she's who knows who knows a the show hey John how are you bud perfect timing let's change the subject real quick Mr Blackwell's watching you watched Ringo at the Ryman yes we watched it for a little bit last night it was really really good Ringo has a a country album out and he's not you know some other artist who's trying to you know crash into country he has apparently always been into country and Paul McCartney there was a clip with Paul McCartney saying that it was Ringo who brought the country influence and some of those Beatles songs that sound kind of country yeah to the band because he was he had more country albums than well the rest of the Beatles didn't have any so they would sit around and they'd listen to Ringo's country albums well not I'm sure you get bored of sound right when you've listened to the same Tunes forever and ever and ever and you just get bored especially when you're trying to create new Melodies and new tunes and be creative and you want to listen to stuff you haven't listened to right maybe it might influence you it was very good and he looks great he's almost 80 he takes really good care of himself yeah no he really does woman in his life takes really good care of himself and his wife looks fabulous well there are reports now coming out from covid and they're finding all like weird little statistics because it's the anniversary five years of uh the pandemic let's celebrate that one right well it was just like here are some things that we learned well yes we can work from away being away from school is not the best correct um uh what else was it things in nature were doing very well without us Dolphins spoke more Turtles had more eggs there's some really weird statistics when it came to food and nature um and then there was another one about men and women's mental health and it was the fact that women took on more jobs women medicated more uh women stressed out more and men perceiv to be doing more even though they weren't so I very much enjoyed some of the statistics especially in regards to men and women and how we both coped with the situation that it was right and that was one of them them perceived as if they were doing more right and in actuality they were not no don't of course we were yeah my husband was he was the one who freaked out and washed everything down and was afraid of everything and yeah they said really us quarantining was the worst thing that we could have done for the situation so yeah probably in the end we didn't know we didn't know we've never that's the important thing to remember folks don't get you undies in a bunch about what happened nobody knew right that's it you know so it was the best response at the time my college girl is here she's going home to college for like four days and then she's got to abandon the place and make sure she pays off her meal PL so they let her back right spring break is coming spring break is coming nothing says spring break like mash P come on back babe uhuh and actually what I'm going to be talking about this afternoon on lunch break is because of spring break yeah the five things you should do immediately when you check into a hotel one of them one of which Mari and I should have done last June when we checked into our hotel oh yes can you give us one that one search for bugs yes that's one of the things you need to do immediately look for bugs oh God gross and as you know we had problems with bugs at our hotel last year and um in clada beach so wretched where where we're not returning to this year we're good we're good we're going back to the hotel that Mariana likes and she wanted us to go to anyway and the child is correct once again well I had seen something about flying fairly recently and as if you are taking off on your April vacation or you're planning some getaways some of the things you shouldn't be doing on a plane and what is what is the the latest one speaker scum is what they're referring at too well that's an interesting term people that do not use their headphones when they're in public and just blare out whatever it is that they're watching their movie their show their their laptop conversations speaker scum is what they're called now and I bet if they're like that it's very hard for the cabin staff to tap them on the shoulder and say excuse me because you turn that down I'm never in fear of doing anything embarrassing because as long as I've got my teenagers they tell me how I'm wrong all the time everywhere we go so they keep me in check I don't ever have to worry about offending anybody I offend my kids enough for all and that's enough and that's enough they they make sure that but that's what parents are supposed to do I don't know how I've lived this long being so inappropriate uhhuh well look we know you've been appropriate I mean that's that's that's not a surprise that's different that has nothing to do with having children that's just you Oh So Good by the way I'm still looking for my endorsement deal right over there see see Callaway thank you just golf balls I have new clubs just golf balls thank you that's all he needs right coming up we've got our annual golf tournament it is over at Willow Bend very much looking forward to it if uh you want to golf Willow Bend you can do so uh but I don't know how many fors we'll have open we usually have the same people that like to golf they love the course they love the the activities and we're doing it on Cino de Mayo uhuh oh that'll be fun Cap Cod Chamber of Commerce we'll have a good time regardless and this will be the first time I'm in charge of it so watch out watch out I got a T-shirt cannon I got a coinone competition we out there like Mad Max out there on my little golf cart watch out we're gonna have a good time that is the one thing I do like about golf is a good golf tournament right it's always fun it's silly we have activities right we need to have fun in a course like that because that's a difficult course to play right exactly you know I mean red R schlubs like me we'd love to play a course like that but it's like this is way over my head yeah well don't worry you can buy Mulligans I let it all happen Okay plenty of Mulligans to be purchased Hank epic mom moments over at poer belly is very true the M Hill right ghosts of the millhill uh so what have we got coming up what's our sorry the machine isn't working I can't tell you the last time I went to one of those and the last time I went to one of those was from some random shake that my son was like can we get this shake why what it's poison yeah Mariana doesn't like to go anymore so I will go in there like if I just need desperation yeah I got I gotta stop I gotta get something okay I'll get a cheeseburger and a Diet um and also crispy K cream has got their donuts a pot of gold a rainbow one right I love festive looking donuts what do you get crispy Crispy Cream Donuts around here probably the Boston area yeah I can't think of what the nearest one is no cuz remember they tried to open a couple of crispy creams and I don't think it did well no it didn't well because this is the land of dun we are Duncan people right it didn't work but their duts are really good I have to say their glazed donut like the one inent oh the Time Square one's good because it's like a little conveyor belt of fresh donuts yes the whole time yeah who doesn't like anything fresh right if it's a hot baked good I'm in sign me up yeah that's true that they they make the doughnuts right there and they are fresh something about it unlike unlike dunks you have no idea when the when the truck pulled up to drop it off right yeah so my husband has been doing some work over at um a French Bakery and he's like it's so hard he's like I just walk in there and it's like a million loaves of bread baking and I just can't everything smells like fresh bread and I'm hungry the minute I walk in there he's like luckily they feed me most of the time but there you go it's like always that fresh bread smell well that's good it's something it's a smell I can't resist the one over by the airport yeah yeah yeah I made what four dozen cookies yesterday and there are none left mhm I woke up this morning to nun dozen cookies and also all of my milk gone well the milk and the cookies do go together I had three boys at my house last night uh including your husband or no oh he would be the fourth correct okay all of the cookies all of the milk I woke up to nothing and I had to use extra cream for my coffee which is it's just heavy yeah not complaining I'm fine everything's fine by the way twin donut shop in Alon is closing this month yes I remember that from when I was that opened in 19 I want to say 1955 really so yeah it's been there that long I mean I remember that from back when when I was a kid and it was funny because the owners um have the current owners have owned it owned it for 25 years and when the news stories first started to appear and they were report reporting it on TV they were saying you know we're grateful for your support the last 25 years blah blah blah and I'm watching the stories and I'm thinking of myself uh it's been there longer than 25 years yeah um it's been there like well it's 19 it's been there almost forever yeah just like me um it's born here yes um yeah but that was good and that's a place you would go that's one of those local local shops there's one in I wish I could think of the name of it this one in Taunton good morning Caroline a local Mom and Pop donnut shop that closed within the last year I really do want to talk about the necessity of shopping local just for a little minute um we've got our mashby farmers market and I'm talking to all of these small businesses some of which were brick-and-mortar businesses that are now back doing fairs festivals markets because they cannot afford the upkeep of a storefront right um also we're we're losing a lot of storefronts like this uh we went over the weekend to one of my favorite sushi restaurants and they were just out of business closed a business that has been in business for 20 years wow uh and it's just like I was so sad about it because there was no Fanfare there was no whatever that just goodbye right now the North Falmouth ches shop has got a plea out there she's in her 60s she said I'm just I've got this lease until December I'm still paying off all of the holiday stuff that I had to pay to my vend ERS M my shelves are bare and I I just I need help I want to keep my workers I it's just a really really difficult time right now and she's like I'm just trying to hang on until May and I know that this is a conversation that has been with a lot of our restaurants a lot of our small stores yeah the conversation of we had the worst January Feb in their restaurants and stores and now they're really struggling to with high energy cost with high costs of goods to just be open restaurants are closing left and right yes oh yeah and even some of the big stores I'm thinking of one in particular in the in the mashby Commons supposedly has had a terrible year and is in danger of maybe closing yeah you know the double hockey stick Bean one yeah um you know and that's a that's a huge chain and but you go in there and there's nobody there yeah I know I went in there couple weeks ago to buy Mariana a a better backpack than the one she had and one that make it easier for her to carry all the book she has to carry yeah and there was like three other people there crazy Chrissy said Colonel donut they closed but then reopened and the duk's if we're talking about Donuts there duk's donuts I have friends of ours that love Duke's Donuts they're like obsessed with them oh they're they're like off the charts yeah rtb I know you're the dut connoisseur he's like listing them all over here Blackboard Union Square Boston area these are the better dnut shops he was sad about Kelly's rast beef what about Kelly's rast beef there is um oh now it is a Kell's roast beef there was another roast beef shop that closed in the Boston area too that was iconic like 100 year old yes but I can't think of it here I know LGB will probably know EXA exactly he's a statistician here right for sure and we still have taking Mariana to what's the one on the um on the island in Boston over by the airport help me RTV I want to say it's Kelly's is it Kelly's that just that just opened up I don't know yeah he'll know is it a donut shop no no no it's it's it's more like a Kelly's Roast Beef or something oh gotcha yeah they they left their roast beef on the NorthShore that's a Castle Island Castle Island Crispy Cream was that at Kelly's yes see thank you very much I'll tell you where the donuts are right like back door Donuts on the vineyard oh they're they're apple fritters are ridiculously delicious really I don't know how we got on to doughnut talk over here but here we are talking about baked goods and I was so proud of myself I didn't have a dut this morning and here we are talking about all of them I know it I I I I I took a I took a Jenny Craig little breakfast English muffin out of the freezer last night and that's what I that's what I had for breakfast this morning I mean I did go get my ice coffee but I was so EXC I mean he came and all dressed up for me today yeah well thank you but the light wasn't on in the closet and I thought I was taking out my plain blue blazer however this is the suit jacket that goes with my suit but that's okay I'm wearing a pair of jeans so it looks cool in sneakers you're not wrong rtb right right I mean isn't that isn't that the cool thing now you wear a nice suit jacket and jeans and sneakers and you know some of the our our leers agree yes hey if it's good enough for Bob Craft good enough for me that's it we got a big controversy here in mashby the name change of the Middle School oh God this is the dumbest thing I've ever even witnessed in my entire life so the name of the school is the quashnet school there are 399 kids at the quashnet school why do they want to change the name they want to change it to quate element oh Intermediate School sorry so they sent out a survey to gauge public support and then the trolls happen why is this happening why do we have to change things why does this why is that also I'm just not in favor of changing the name because it costs money they got a cost money to change the incorporation they it cost money to change the signage cost money for things I feel like we could spend a lot more money on other things in the school system other than putting an intermediate in there right but that the matter this issue could have been on the agenda agenda for the school committee they could have discussed it Kanye and it would have been over right and nobody would have noticed till the school started next year oh gee when did this become they added an intermediate in there that's nice that's nice stupid right and now it's a to-do they made it a to-do now but now it's like a costly to-do as well so I they sent out a new survey from the school yesterday and it was like how do how do you feel how do you feel about this I'm like this I I feel bad for the person that has to read these I feel bad for the person that has to read these collect this data and I can only imagine what it looks like on the other side I feel I actually feel bad for our our city our our officials at the schools because you don't win look at folks you ran for school committee to make decisions okay if you can't make the decisions don't take polls don't run get somebody else who's going to make the decisions okay that's that's what you were hired to do yeah you you just opened a can of worms you opened the opinion can of worms and that's just going to be it's a it's a cessful good luck I mean but seriously just like Twitter that just went down and I pay for Twitter premium by nothing like that no they're awesome they're they were really really good yeah Colleen's got a really nice program over at the Canali school and uh these girls from Little to big they all take care of each other they all run the show she lets them run the show I noticed that yeah so the older girls are now mentors for the little ones and I love that one little one who was not even as tall as so stinking cute right oh and good and good yes I know the dancers of our future over there one of them competed in gallway last year and finished top five I mean it's it's pretty incredible the stuff that they're doing over the canal school so shout out to you Colleen when you see these dancers throughout the cape please tip them please give them money that hair is expensive those outfits are expensive mom's all of them sitting in the wings did you see them all there they're the ones that are in charge of all of that stuff it ain't cheap and they make sure that they go to all of these activities but also I think that it's so important that they do Mentor them they all work on homework together they all work on other programs together yeah uh and it's a really nice community that
