now we're here how are you it's Hank and Stephanie this morning happy Tuesday hey good morning boys and girls bartender Hank here today oh look at you look at me huh snazzy yeah how was your weekend um it was good we had a really nice nice Mother's Day we saw um my mother-in-law on Saturday and then we took Mari to brunch at the old Yarmouth Inn oh that looked delicious which was fabulous just fabulous they they do such a great job the next one by the way is on Father's Day oh if you're looking to do something for someone for Father's Day interesting yes I'll see what the man wants to do yep I uh we we had such a low-key day I had to work in the morning right and then we ended our over at uh captains went and saw my buddy Junior we had some prosecco and some good laughs I got my lobster roll in it was a good day there you go I know nice and low-key which I needed you know I have a question about Mother's Day yes why is it that we're told 364 days a year I'm not your mother that was my dad's excuse for my mom those clothes over there in the corner I'm not your mother I'm not picking them up see those dishes you put in the sink I'm not your mother I'm not putting them in but the 365th day if there's not cards and flowers exactly and dinner reservations oh my God but wait a minute she's the mother of your child no it's my mother the mother of your child yes very different and Father's Day it's hey here's a card we got some steaks in the freezer you can cook them later that's it that's exactly how it rolls good morning Lynn thank you so much Nat I appreciate you although in my case my family's really good to me on Father's Day so yeah I can't complain as long as you know there's an equitable amount of loving and giving then we're fine here yeah we play the story about the fire in in Mashpee um where where the gentleman who owned the house was was later discovered yet um it's it's over here somewhere in Stephanie's neighborhood and when I was coming in today I kept looking not this house not this house not this house so when Stephanie when we got together this morning and chatted a little bit before the show started I mentioned it to her and I said Gee where's the house and Stephanie said it's right there like I can see what I saw the whole thing yesterday first off I get up I finally get out of my own way because Monday mornings are crazy I'm down here toiling away in the studio and I'm not really paying attention to what's going on the kids left for school everything was kind of normal for a Monday so right around noon time I'm like I'll go get the mail I'll grab myself some lunch and I see a stadie just blocking off my street and I'm like What's Happening Here and didn't think much of it I'm like oh there must be an accident maybe they're moving a house you never know around my neighborhood maybe it's road work because they've been doing this for exactly so I didn't think too much of it didn't pay any attention and then I saw my phone start ringing I was dealing with some other family stuff going on at the house and I'm like Cliff I gotta go Kathy's calling me and she's like the neighborhood the chatter the one that you know and she's like oh I I was forced to drive by your house today because I was rerouted from traffic I'm like okay what's going on I thought you run a radio station over there shouldn't you be on this I have no idea what you're talking about Kathy what is happening and she's like you know the guy on the corner not the this one not the this one so we had to go through all the neighbors who it wasn't and then it was like Roger you know Roger he's always outside I'm like oh the guy that's always in the yard always doing yard work yeah I know exactly who he is right next to the Log Cabin so finally we placed who Roger is I'm like wait a minute I'm looking in his backyard right now I see people in hazmat suits like in the yellow full-on hazmat suits and I'm like what the heck happened good morning Marie good morning Shelly good morning Nicole so I'm sitting there and I'm like what what do you what is going on right now I have no idea meanwhile let's let's rewind the weekend just a little bit okay we had to hurry up on Thursday Friday we were in New York then it was my daughter's prom my daughter came home from prom early to change clothes go to the lanes it was right around then that I said to my husband as we're you know getting ready for bed and I'm I've got the windows open because it was just so beautiful it was yeah it was meanwhile letting all the pollen in but anyway so I'm like what is that smell I'm like somebody's burning something can you go downstairs and see if Mackenzie is like burning incense right like it just smells off I don't know what it is it's really bothersome and my husband's obviously we had a house fire so now he's on Sergeant on the job right turning into his little German Shepherd that he is walking around the house trying to figure out where the smell is and he said gotta be in the neighborhood I was like oh you know what is fire pit season and it's so nice out maybe somebody's outside burning or whatever so the story from the Mashpee news today was that he was found dead outside and that no foul play is expected Roger was eight um 86 years old so they didn't explain to you that this poor man had been smoldering in our neighborhood four days Days I smelled the smell on Saturday I've now concurred with other neighbors that we all smelled the smell we thought it was another neighbor that was burning we also talked to another one of our neighbors who lives nearby that saw smoldering coming from the yard and she went over and just squirted it with water he had left it burning and thought she was doing the right thing only what she squirted water on was him oh good lord jeez days this poor man was burning and we're all we all smelled the smell and you just didn't know what it was and you couldn't really locate it we didn't no none of us knew you can't even make that up no no that's just that's just so here I am last night doing trivia at dito's and all of my neighbors are like wow we smelled it I was like thank you thank you very much because I thought I was going insane but then none of us knew to think that I mean honestly put your brain in that space would you think it would be a burning human in their yard no ever never I felt so terrible also my friend Doug used to live right next door to him and I talked to him yesterday after I found out the news because what are you gonna do did you call the other neighbors so I talked to Doug and he's like you know I would a lot an extra half an hour of time whenever I had to go do yard projects because he's always out there and he's chatting he's like I said you would have noticed but since you don't live in the neighborhood anymore we've got new neighbors in that area no one really noticed a check on him and I please I cannot implore this enough if you have elderly neighbors and things seem weird check on them because I really wish I had had I probably wouldn't have been able to change what had occurred because but I would have been able to find out days earlier that's awful it's so awful right to think that this happened could you even imagine no no no no but it was an accident though it was an accident well some people were saying you did it on purpose I don't think no one chooses to go out that way that is the last place you would choose but this is like the string of crazy deaths that I've been close to so is this is the third one am I done now has this concluded or if I say that am I asking for another three what are the law of averages here I hate to say we've had four crazy crazy just really bizarre untimely endings I mean 86 he lived a good life and loved you thank you Roger we appreciated you but good God Almighty smoldering in your own yard for days or days ugh that's just sorry folks didn't mean to start your day I had to talk about it with somebody because I was like this is crazy yeah this is not normal so thank you for being part of my therapy today I don't think I'm over it it's always it's always going to be every every time you smell something now now we're gonna have to Branch out you're gonna have to leave the house you know what is that are they are they you know is that the fire pit is that uh seriously though it just was not a regular smell that's why I was just like what are the kids burning now yeah I don't know I got 20 somethings hey Lauren what's going on and hey Matt Michael Michael two Michaels thank you both for joining us this morning tank and Stephanie Tuesday we're back together yes well last week when you came over I told you to evacuate oh my gosh move get out get out while you can oh see I'm I'm good I don't look at my text messages while I'm driving and at some point at some point in time while I'm driving Steph sent me a text message that said um no show today Cody's sick oh yeah that went right through the house so I didn't see it until I walked in the house and it was really quiet and I looked at my text messages and I saw it and I typed oh gee I just walked in the immediate response is get out of here I'm wearing a mask he's so sick oh my God I don't know what I'm gonna do I know because you knew what a busy weekend I had I had no time for this yes I cannot be sick I'm like okay okay I'm out you know my my girlfriend shared this with me and I actually posted it this morning if you follow me on Stephanie in the morning then you'll see this this video that uh this woman had posted and she's wearing a this was her yesterday her Monday but she was wearing a shower cap and she's talking about her weekend where her mother's day she ended up in the emergency room because her kid needed mouth stitches and she's dealing with the aftermath of math of lice in her house from whatever and she goes I'm just hoping she goes snacks help what I'm hoping today is not your last day and it made me laugh because I was like you know what every grade school mom needs to just laugh at the Ridiculousness oh yeah that ensues when you have children and how your days are going to go yes um and and it just did so I hope today is not your life's day bring snacks for you whatever crappy thing you have to trudge through today I hope that you're going to be able to to do it with at least a little bit of laughter in it right and that was a moment where I had a mask on I had so many things to do I had no time for it and I'm like the stomach virus no wow I can't do this right now I just can't and then and then and then I got back and who was sick with the stomach virus but Mari who by the way tomorrow is Mary's birthday happy birthday Marie okay we got to mention that she's sick so I take stuff again hey you know what Murray seems to have the same thing God so bad especially this time of year where you're like I want to be out I want to be doing things and you're just downed by these things um so Mari has the same birthday as Lily we were doing all of our pre-celebration for Lily because we just get so busy right and and how did the pre-celebration go it was good we were we were um we loved New York I really did enjoy it the Opera was terrible but Lily likes Opera she we all liked it to a point it got to the point where the only reason why we got through the second act was because it was watching my husband like a tennis match to see when he was going to snap back like a Pez dispenser and start snoring again it was actual game and I laughed after intermission because if you interrupt it and have to go to the bathroom they won't let you back in right because it's disruptive right so we're all like holding it waiting for the next thing so that we can go and run in oh I I never get through an opera so he came back and it's three and a half hours it's a really long time to sit in those little seats three and a half three and a half hours what was the opera it was Don Giovanni which was so sexist misogynistic I mean it was written in the 1700s did they sing in English or Italian Italian and I'm Spanish also okay so they had like the little ticker in front of you that said what what the um oh the translation okay so it was even more ridiculous when you're translating it because it was like oh he's such a rotten dirty Scout oh but I'm falling deeper in love with him oh but he's cheated on all of these girls oh but I still love him I'm like what are we what are we watching this is terrible and my daughter and I are like audibly laughing because it's so right terrible uh but the singing was incredible to think that all of these people every single one was from a different country right um every single one had never worked together before and it was also very cool because it was at the Met and the Met Gala just happened so it was still all very much decked out over the Met Gala and every place was um all the stores Gucci and Chanel and all that still had uh window displays from the Met Gala honoring Carl lagerfelt who was a horrible human being but I did enjoy all of the it was absolutely terrible transphobic horrible fallback he was just a terrible man um but his fashion was great and it just reminded me of Cruella Deville everything black and white loved his cat it's just really weird so I felt like I was kind of in a set like a movie set you know what I mean it did it felt very surreal to be in this space it didn't feel like I was actually going through life motions at that moment I was like all right where's the camera it was just really weird um but we did enjoy it uh so yeah my husband falls asleep at the drop about we were on a handsome cab ride the horse and buggy through Central Park he didn't he didn't he is snoring he is snoring come on babe you can't do that this is a 20-minute horse ride and he's sleeping 20 minutes please don't take this the wrong way have you had him checked well that's what he's saying so what if something's really wrong with me and you guys have been laughing at me I was like it's not my job to take you to the doctor I am not your mother not your mother you can take your own ass to the doctor it's not my problem Oh Eva yes she's going to New York uh next month she's going to see The Lion King good morning Sam good morning Jed good morning Lucinda Laura thank you all so much for joining us Laura I'm very excited for you she owns a fabulous little breakfast restaurant and she did a crowd funding really and uh Laura and Tony's it's right near the Wellfleet flea market okay um they have had several incarnations of themselves they used to be known for their breakfast buffet yeah then kovid happened and there was no more Buffet right so then they started doing some of their um homemade stuff to go selling it online still reaching her customers this year I think that they're going back to their Roots they crowdfunded for their Garden outside hit Milestones over that and I'm so looking forward to the beautification of Laura and Tony's this summer I'm so excited for you couldn't be happier more proud I was in E for all with her and uh she's just done amazing things doctor and Tony are amazing people that sounds like something Guy Fieri would be interested in yes go swing through yeah yeah that sounds like a Diners Drive-Ins and Dives yes story for sure and he's from he's not from Roanoke his wife was from Rhode Island so he comes this way and he's been on the cape several times yeah so yeah somebody figure out how to how to get in touch with Guy Fieri yeah definitely yeah but just don't talk to him why is he one of those people no no I guess he's he's fine but um when when he should when he comes to to the place to do the show you can't talk to him because when he goes in and he talks to the to the chef or the owners or whatever that's the first conversation he has oh okay that's good though I like that going in fresh no preconceived notions yes and don't get too close to the car yeah okay I guess the Food Network itself is a little sensitive about the car oh he drinks at Traders I've seen him go yeah everybody drinks at traders in the summer during the day though I don't know what happens oh but he doesn't drink in his own places I don't know does he doesn't have any places on the cape no which I'm surprised at I'm surprised we don't have more celebrity chefy things here on the cage I'm surprised we don't have a Margaritaville or something we're not a fan of chains no we're really not um I mean I would like some sort of Boutique shop though that a famous chef would would do yeah why are you not coming to our Cape of God why somebody I'm just curious we need to change it up cuisinally around here I need some fresh new ideas on food right one really cool Network guys yeah something I mean don't get me wrong I love lobster rolls we love fried clams we love our ice cream there are certain things that we do and we do well but for everyone that lives here year round we need a little more that's all I'm asking okay so so who would be a good fit not Gianna um God no maybe maybe Robert Irvine he might fit I'm down anybody he's a normal kind of guy Guy Fieri um see I know them all I don't know culture I need a little something I don't know what's his name Zakarian he's a little classic yeah I like it yeah yeah either that is Scott Conant where are our food people with the big hair I like them all sucked into that that's I would rather watch that at night than the stuff my husband has me watching you brought up a show that you just found oh and my husband I'll wake up in the middle of the night and I'll feel like I'm in a crime scene I'll feel like I'm in like doing something wrong like I'm hiding things to catch what is it to catch a Smuggler on National Geographic everything on that Geo my husband will watch he'll wake up in the middle of the night probably somewhere around 1 to 3 A.M which is probably why he's falling asleep everywhere right uh and then start watching these shows but I'll wake up he's a TV Watcher in the middle of the night and I cannot stand it but I've learned to live with it because I love him and we've been together 20 years this year Well married 20 years congratulations um and together how long 23. okay that's good somewhere around there I think you're gonna make it you two kids will be okay I don't know not if he keeps playing crime shows in the middle of the night and I feel like I'm I'm like hiding something and he's gonna pick up his own underwear from yeah the things that you have to do once again I'm not your mother right so um the smuggling show and you and I always read the crazy crimes in the morning so I I you made me laugh today when you brought up the the to catch a Smuggler because I can't stand it how dumb do you have to be to think you're going to be able to smuggle these things in your suitcases or underneath your belly we had a pregnant woman yes um that was not pregnant not a woman and in her pregnant belly she was smuggling drugs and it fell out by accident like how sloppy of a criminal do you have to be to be doing this in airports one of the ones I watched last week I guess or this weekend or whenever a guy swallowed 32 capsules of of cocaine or or whatever and he almost got all the way through I mean he didn't have anything in his purse you know nothing in the suitcase nothing bum but then they said you know one more thing we got to do in x-ray and they did the X-ray and then they had to wait until he has to the drugs yes and then they arrested him and he could get like 15 to 30. well it's like he didn't die so there's that but right he probably wished he would have died at that point in time because I'm gonna face the crime right and some of them are so stupid there was another one there was this 40 year old guy with his 17 year old wife because whatever country they were in in South America you can marry that young 17 now is oh I mean I get it it's not ideal it's probably not going to last but you're still almost there is it a Massachusetts 16 you're allowed to with your parents permission get married I don't I don't know I think those are the rules yeah but the thing is though this guy was nothing they should say well okay I can I can see a 17 year old being attracted to him he was he was just grosses me out he was like really he's bringing me back to the Opera and that wasn't great but I love seriously I could not watch the this why are people paying all this money to watch this I just like this immensely although the building was beautiful we really did enjoy it and you know what I got to see my brother uh and whom I I terribly Mr Fox Weather not news that's correct thank you so he's okay he's doing great he really because whether people make stuff up anyway so he did that's fine he's in charge of the ticker that goes across oh okay so when people whatever shows that he's in charge of he's got to make sure all the graphics and stuff while they're doing it looked nice okay like that's his job all right we'll go with that right but he he hung out with my 23 year old daughter and the two of them are basically the same mentally so they they enjoyed each other's company really well I had to pick her up I'm like can you make sure your niece doesn't die like I don't even know what they were at the club until four o'clock in the morning four o'clock in the morning hey wait I never was out until four o'clock oh I don't believe that I'm too tired I don't believe I'm a morning person when you were young when you were young I don't think I was ever out until four I'm not older like me when you were young when I was younger I was at the club so four o'clock in the morning not often I don't think I was I I mean two four and I never pulled an all-nighter like I don't I don't even know what they did she's like I was still at the club people were going to more clubs after I was leaving I was like what oh that's crazy I can't no no thank you but that's New York too yeah they're on a whole different life cycle than we are well apparently she she met people that were on you know TV shows TLC in this one she's made new best friends she's going back there I'm like hey you know what you're 23 go and make those connections go and enjoy your life sure I'm jealous uh but I can't stay out past like 9 00 p.m she's like she texted me a mom's day coming back from her friends and she's like what are you guys doing I was like going to bed 9pm I've been in my PJs in seven right and I'm not even that old it's just I'm a morning person right it's just not my time of day I do not excel at that time so Mari had a big weekend for herself I saw that she's got a scholarship now yes yes over the over the villages we have a Murray Senate plus today real estate scholarship um The Villages has a scholarship committee um that raised over thirty five thousand dollars this year that's incredible for Mashpee High School seniors love that so uh she has her own um name scholarship that she said set up it was it was really cool it was a really nice event um we're still learning how to be I don't know how to put this well for example they had a raffle you know silent auction kind of thing and and you buy the tickets and we're sitting there writing our name on the back of all the tickets oh there's got to be a better way oh there is no Stamper things exactly some of the people pulled out a Stamper boom boom boom boom boom some other people pulled out their return address labels anymore I don't either and they're just putting their return address labels on it and we went oh gee that that's smart I know the other thing that we learned I haven't donated to Easter Seals in a while there you go there you go the other thing we learned about going to events over there um or at least this event that we were at um it's BYOB well and we didn't think and we were going to stand up and make a presentation anyway so we wouldn't probably wouldn't have but there are all these people coming in with their little little wine bag coolers and no glasses and they're taking the wine putting it on the table pouring themselves drinks huh the woman next to us had cheaper had a had had a glass of water because you could have water at the table and she had a bottle of water and then she had this other container that she kept pouring in what was the mystery container I don't I don't know what was in it but it looked clear well then she was going all the way in today is National Mimosa day today we were curious wow I don't even bother with the Mimosa portion I'm just like make it clear or maybe a splash just for you know yep color yeah well there you go now you need to now you know now we know we have to remember the BYOB so Sunday at brunch by the way the old Yarmouth Inn had some really good mimosas yeah um I love brunch yep I haven't been to a good brunch in a while oh you got to go to this one plug plug well I've been to their brunch prior to pandemic and that's that building is haunted right that's the one there's a ghost that lives there supposedly I think I've heard that yeah I don't know how real it is yeah well it goes back to 16 something or other right thing yeah so I heard that there's a ghost that moves about the building I think that that was the Spiel that we got when we were chatting with one of the waitresses there she's like this ghost is like it bumps people really really yeah that's what happened okay got it so it was yesterday you know how I love my today in history and I've got trivia tonight over at Shipwrecked uh but Monday we start our trivia and one of our rounds is about Cape Cod history uh it's just k-pod questions because Bartholomew gosnold found Cape Cod in 1602 yesterday so I said okay how well do you know Cape Cod and so I made it people did not excel at this round by the way oh really just in case you were wondering um but one of them one of the questions about Cape Cod was it is the longest District in the country of historic district whatever it's 6A Old Kings Highway right that whole thing everything the oldest library the oldest um town is sandwich the all like all of that is all at a historical district period so it's one of the longest historical districts in the country um so I just going through all of them but it was amazing how many people did not know how many towns were on Cape Cod really people did not know some of the villages right people did not know the radio guy from Cape Cod really I was like huh interesting by the way just a news flash in case you're joining us for trivia tonight over at Shipwrecked we're a half an hour later starting at 7 30 until nine the days are longer people need to eat food so we're making some rum 7 30 to 9 trivia tonight over at Shipwrecked and now you know brush up on your Cape Cod fun facts that's right and Cape Cod does have a lot of um haunted houses and ghosts yes because there were tours well we've been we hear the longest right we've been making ghosts the longest that's right I went on one of those by the way with Lily go swear somebody brushed her leg inside the old jail house really I don't know I I don't know jury's still out for me and that goes tour but we're I definitely believe in some weird phenomena that has happened well that's another crappy show my husband watches on Discovery those ghost things no that one I don't watch I watch Wicked Tuna um and I watch uh Gold Rush what's your guilty pleasure TV show mine anybody anybody yours I don't know oh Falmouth votes today good luck Falmouth I just want to say one thing you had mentioned when you walked in today as we're doing our Civic duties and all the things that we should be doing you can't complain about it if you didn't wager a vote yup I understand we get busy I understand sometimes things don't happen the way we want them to do but at least if you go and take five minutes out of your day go to your voting place and place a vote you at least have a reason to complain before you get on your town pages right it's my PSA for the day right what what we were talking about was now that town meetings are pretty much over everywhere all the the chatter coming up on the county pages about how much is this how much is that you know how much you know how big is the stipend for the board of for the Slick boy that's just stupid but that's another story um for the Border selectment or how much does this get paid or and it's and it's like folks you just had flipping town meeting I know why are you asking now I think it's also because people just get busy in their lives and you forget it I mean we had a smoldering human being on a front lawn for two days and we were all like what is that smell well I guess you have an excuse I think we get busy in our lives we'll investigate it later but for the rest of you still not over it sorry you don't have that you don't have that that excuse and all the all the back and forth about you know this time is inconvenient and make it on the weekend so that young people can go and everything else look just put it in your calendar you put book club in your calendar you put golf league in your calendar you put bowling in your calendar town meeting is one night put it in your calendar yeah instead of former times frustrated town and City official we thank you we thank you for your service just do it you served it well good morning Seraphina Eva said her guilty pleasure TV show Bones I loved bones it's been a while since I found a good one though Gene good morning Andra hi Tom how are you doing miss your face I got to see it for a hot second over at knock about knock about we are having host auditions that is coming up this Sunday ever wanted to be a host you think you've got what it takes to be a radio host do you want to host a trivia night a bingo night you want to be a host of an event and MC will train you we'll arm you with all the correct material and we'll get you on your way maybe this is your new career do you think I could do that I think he could do it okay wait a minute you're on the air on the weekends Professor Hank make sure you're listening to him here on 1180 how you can hear him yeah still broadcasting from the from the warehouse but we're working on it well you know we're gonna be around we're positioned to go into the future that's right AM radio right now that's right which is not positioned to go into the future we're going to the Future AM radio is not I mean a lot of us made our start on AM radio not me but no I did actually well those are movies I was stationed at Fort Gordon Georgia and I did it was an AM bandwidth that we were on so I did start on AM radio yep um so it's BMW Volkswagen Mazda and Tesla removing AM radio from their cars where the wave of the future everybody lemonadeio come aboard come and listen yes well it was funny I was trying to explain this and you know some people get it and some people just don't understand like where is it on the dial it's not on the dial no pretty soon there's not going to be a dial it's not gonna run that way so these car companies are seeing the future and they're like Yep they're we're not doing that so you know what I don't know how much space they're saving in the vehicle though I've got questions if they've got an elixir in the car you can ask your Alexa to play anything yep maybe that's what they're doing you don't even need Shazam anymore you can just say hey Siri what song is this yeah and it'll listen for you oh on your iPhone if you have an iPhone I know friends of ours have just upgraded to iPhones and they're like the Land of the Lost when you change from Android to iPhone or app iPhone to Android you're like a lost human being for a solid year you don't know how anything works you don't understand the technology Because unless you grew with the technology you don't have the base of how to use it kind of like with Max versus PCS you know what I mean there's a learning curve right but since I use both on a daily basis I still have stayed with the technology it's a pain but you have to remember which device you're on I've never I've never ever used a Mac no never never well that was our first computers when we were kids the ancient old computer lab where it took you the entire class to go in there and wait for it to boot up and then it was like hi how are you and then that was it class was over we're like wow that was really productive just shut it off I mean my my computer class in high school yeah they were teaching us programming I love average was nutso when I see the green bubble I just think what are you doing with your life all of the greens I yelled at my dad for I don't even know how long I'm like get rid of the green text messages and I don't even know what emojis you're sending me because it just sends you a square with a question mark in it because even our emojis don't compute what are you doing with your life I like that Aaron I'm definitely going to use that I appreciate that yep oh easy explanation lemonadeio is like serious yeah exactly it's just like serious only better yeah I agree because I'm not as boring well they're just it's cookie cutter it's factory this is what you get every single time this is what you get and it's the same if if you listen to it long enough if you're in the car long enough you hear the same songs they they Circle back around again yeah exactly and and so many of the stations on Sirius are so close to each other yeah he's on eight nine he's on nine right it's like that's just what it is I mean it's brilliant it works you know what you're gonna get when you're gonna get it but yes you do get bored right I like to listen to the stand-up comedy channel yes I'll listen to that just because but even that is cyclical and you like I already heard it heard it heard it yep we're still on our way through all of Seinfeld right now talk about guilty pleasure TV shows so he started Seinfeld from the beginning again it's still just as funny it's very inappropriate now when you're talking about our time of life right now uh but we're we're just now getting to season nine and hopping into season nine and where they're at but I mean it's making me sad because I know it's coming to an end and I'm not gonna have anything to watch the writers are still on strike right I don't know when they're coming back I don't know when they're gonna have new shows I just saw that Yellowstone the prequel said they're gonna end with season two the Harrison Ford one right you need to get back to work because I need to find out that story left us on a giant Cliffhanger if you watched the 1928 or whatever it is they left us on a complete Cliffhanger I'm dangling over a cliff here I need to know the end of this story it's driving me crazy it's like one of the four things they do watch right now oh okay I know when um um Jeopardy yeah Ken Jennings they're continuing to um to film because the questions are written so long in advance oh he's going to continue doing the show but uh whatever her name is Maya is out right mayam is out you know in solidarity solidarity with the writers great fine is it or because you just weren't well liked oh I think well is it a way to save face and get rid of mayam while blaming the act the writers or gracefully bowing out because she knows that she's not well liked I don't know but she's not she just doesn't I don't know okay I don't she's okay I like her I think she's brilliant I think she's wonderful as she had game show host no she's not no and she's up again she's up against Ken Jennings who everybody just likes he's he's personable you know this really isn't his thing yeah and he's doing the show and he's and he's grown into it and he's funny and and if you see the clips on um Facebook or or Instagram they'll do clips of the chatter after the show yeah you know when they're running the the the um the credits and everything yeah and he's talking to them does some really funny stuff that that happens in that chatter back and forth will you stop watching it I think it's just because I work at that time of evening yeah so I've not because we were religious Jeopardy Watchers and Wheel of Fortune Watchers for years and years when our kids were little it was like that's we had dinner we watched Jeopardy we watched we'll and we watched Jeopardy and then everybody got ready for their bed right that was the natural ending to our evening with our scheduling but now we just don't do it so I haven't watched it in so long right I actually like Ken Jennings better as a host I mean no one's Alex Trebek it's never going to happen no no and the thing is about Ken Jennings you know he is certified certifiably the smartest guy in the room sure I'll give it to you you know yeah he's not pretending that he's smart he's the smart guy he won black for four months in a row or something yeah he's proven he's he's earned his chops there right host of Jeopardy you don't feel like it's so condescending I see what you're saying yeah because Alex just got up there with his smug little face on and you're like does he even know exactly I don't even know yeah just like Alex yeah Alex would be condescending and you knew that's because somebody told him about it it was so French Canadian though there was an air of that it's just very very typically French Canadian it made me laugh yeah well with Ken Jennings you know he knows yeah that's true that's fair you know a reliable host right if he if he smirks at a stupid answer well it's because he knows it's a stupid answer oh my gosh I have to give a shout out also to um sea salt in Mashpee Commons I went and had an eyelash lift and tint this week oh did you get your eyebrows done like you were going to with the with the marks or whatever no I didn't get my eyebrows done but I did get an eyelash Lipton tint which was awesome because it looks like I have mascara on when I don't and I really like that I am a basic human being like make sure that I can just brush my hair and I can go on with my day make sure that I wash my face and I can leave and I'm good like it looks like I I tried today and I feel like that that's what it did I also got a spray tan which was funny because all of a sudden my husband's like what what why do you look different he's like it just like did you lay out today like that wouldn't lay out today how much time do you think I have today that I laid out in the backyard so the backyard's covered in pollen right oh I'm itching thinking about laying out at this point he's growing all kinds of stuff in the front yard yeah right I'm not allowed out there I don't know what's going on out there but something's blooming out there I love the onions oh they're about to get those beautiful purple flowers at the top of them blooming on you yeah yeah hahaha good morning Bob thank you so much for joining us I miss your face Lindsay's going to be on the show with us this week put your helmets on Lindsay's coming in uh yep exactly the duttons live on yes they do good morning Becca good morning Doug Doug it was really nice meeting you in person Doug swung by knock about we had an author on one of my friends Christy that does a children's book right Christy's going to be working with us a little bit more doing some of our scheduling and some of um the background stuff so I'm excited to start you know getting actual like workers in here wow that'd be cool I know it needs to happen uh this this party of one is exhausted Mama's tired Mama's got a lot of things that she wants to Branch this business too so we definitely are so once again we're doing open auditions and that is happening Sunday at knock about 1101 May 21st swing on by say hello to us and uh we'll we'll talk maybe hosting is in your future maybe it's for you right you never know no seriously you never I never thought I would be doing this for a living and here I am Hank so I don't know what the hell else I'd be doing with myself I was gonna say what did you think you were going to do if not this um since I was seven I told my mom and dad I was going to be on the radio okay yeah I've I I knew for years and my father looked at me like all right and I did it and I wanted to go to the New England school to broadcast again my father said Oh no you're going to college sir that was actually smart you know smarter you're gonna get a real degree that was the smartest thing you could have ever done but as a guy by the name of Tom Cuddy who I worked with at waara who went to the New England School of broadcasting that's he graduated from bishoping high school probably no no you know the cuties he went to New England School of Broadcasting he started a wa he went down to wpro in Providence he ended up being the program director at wpro he then went to a couple of big radio stations in New York he then became the head of radio for the ABC radio network and fired Casey case incredible right incredible he did a couple of other things he's back in New York now I'm I'm not sure what what stations he's working with he's programming but he just New England School of broadcasting no no I'm not saying he didn't pick up a lot of experience along the way that he's not obviously brilliant at what he does but that's all he had but he had the skill for it and that's one of the things about radio if you can do it you can do it right yeah sometimes there's no you just can't train people to have a personality right this do you either have that or you don't or you just never had time to develop it a little bit and that's what we're looking for if you think you've had that experience if you think you're that person you got to be outgoing you can't be afraid there's a lot to it I feel like our kids mine especially they're all except for one find in any sort of situation that they get dropped in who isn't my mid-kid oh okay she is just she's like Mom I'll do all the background stuff I'll do all the stuff but she has social anxiety she just does it bothers her to be in crowds it bothers her to strike up conversations she it's just not for her and that's okay but she doesn't mind being the the back end of that she's like I'll support any way I possibly can just don't want to be on that stage don't want to be in that Limelight and she's funny and she's she's so personable but it's gonna be in a small dose and it's got to be a place of her choosing right now oddly I can do this I can I can teach I could be a host of of anything but you'd put me in a situation like the scholarship dinner over the weekend yeah I sat at the table it's awkward Mari whose birthday is tomorrow by the way she just gets up yeah and she starts working the room yeah and talking to this one on that and wondering hey how are you and I'm just I'm just sitting there but I can do all of this you're not a small talk guy that's why yeah no I'm not yeah yes you're not a small talk guy I only discuss profound things Big Ideas Big Ideas profound things yes I'll be your next host of music trivia talking about profound things all these smart things sir hey swag seems for me but Murray is just some you've seen her in action she's absolutely incredible there is something to be said for people that are personable it just makes you feel a little bit more yes that's years wait a minute you're saying I'm not personable no you are very personable there's a difference but you're right Aaron it is years of waitressing I have said this to every single one of my mom and dad friends if your child is awkward uncomfortable have them be a server you learn so many things you learn to be assertive you learn how to count back change learn how to talk to people you learn how to gauge what someone's going through you really do get a great swath of learning people by working in a restaurant yeah you really do I could I could never be a server I wouldn't I wouldn't have the patience if I went over and said what's your order please and someone's sitting there well I don't know should I have this should I have I have that I I'd be done we need a hank theme trivia it'd be about sports yes Sports what's going on in sports I don't like sports well the Celtics certainly romped and stomped they had to because I don't even know what was going on there and I we could not have another incident like we had with the Bruins no no something something happened Jason Tatum decided okay I think I'm going to be the player everybody says that I am and even help me scored 51. they're the odds are in favor to win a championship this year still with the Bruins yeah well look where that got us Nat says he stinks at starting conversations Jackie the socks suck well the socks started off really really well and now they're like slipping and sliding and oh it's way too early on the season it's way too early I know I I just 162 games I saw Brady is coming back what is the deal with that so it's just an honor yeah coming back to honor him they're probably going to retire his number it's just a money grab right oh yeah everybody come look at Tommy Tommy's now divorced and needs a couple of bucks right look at we'll have him here on display yeah the ticket prices for that like I was saying over the weekend if you think Taylor Swift ticket prices were bad try to get tickets to that Patriots really that Tom Brady's going to be there oh everybody's going to want to be there it's going to be stupid have they even like discussed pricing yet no no I mean I don't think it'll be the ticket the the list ticket price it's going to be the we used to call them scalpers but now it's called the secondary Market correct the secondary Market will be ridiculous it's a Taylor Swift thing I think Taylor Swift is really good I I like her she's talented all that other stuff obviously I mean she doesn't appeal to me in terms of you not your market right my mark not my market and that's and that's fine there was a thing on the news this morning that Gillette Stadium uh had to make an announcement based on what happened in Philadelphia that you they're not going to allow people to Simply tailgate or park anywhere um on in the Gillette Stadium area so they can sit in their car or sit outside and listen to the music right they can't there's just not enough capacity for that yeah and there's always those yeah and apparently they had a problem in Philadelphia with people just just parking their car because you want to be part of the moment you want to be a part of the excitement I mean she does draw her fans are on unbelievable unmatched unparalleled incredible fans okay so let me ask you this is she I mean I know she's good is she that good I'm not a Swifty I mean she's she is and I mean she's she's their voice she's their person she's what got them through all of their things and for for decades I mean she's been at it a while you know what I mean talk about like longevity and growing into a position you were made for that you made for yourself yeah I mean all of that is incredible it it's not for me but I get it yeah oh oh it's not for me right right and none of my kids either none of them yeah none of them are swifties it's just a very specific group which is what um I want to say for anywhere from like 20 to 35 yeah that's swath okay like a decade and a half yep and she speaks to them well well yeah my kids like rap jams this is not for them no no oh gosh no I mean like every time she breaks up with somebody she gets a hit record out of it yeah right so in that in that age group you do a lot of that breaking up and but you don't yeah it's relatable yeah it is the coming of age it is and she is a masterful Storyteller yeah so just like anybody else that you see grace your screen or that you listen to or maybe you listen to your favorite book on tape or audible or there's a voice that you love that's just wow it's just chef's kiss of Mastery in your position that's what she does I it's just not for me yeah I I wouldn't spend that kind of money like I wouldn't spend that kind of money on Tom Brady I'm Frugal right right I'm trying to think about those of us who are older what would be the comparable Taylor Swift person and I can't I mean it doesn't I don't know of anyone who like who like sings to my issues as an older person that's what I'm saying we don't have the voice of Our Generation we don't or I I mean maybe the Beatles were like the last big yeah voice of a generation like that yeah I mean they really I can't I can't think of anybody and I you know a lot about music I know a lot about music because we don't have the unification here anymore everyone is kind of on their own trajectory we've kind of um have just decided that this is the way we want it we don't have that unified all trauma or like whatever our unified trauma was the pandemic right yeah that was our unified drama everybody else had like great music or like a war or something ours was coven 19. it's not a great way to come together on something and actually that just divided us even more right so and maybe it's something about the the um the issues that that we deal with as we get older they're just not good song material yeah you know I mean when we think about it's only so many doctors visits we could write songs about it right exactly Have you listened to the conversations at The Villages lately they're all they're all coming back from their Florida summer hibernation oh my gosh yep yep and we're getting and we're getting emails now telling us we can't we can't put out our trash cans until eight o'clock at night I don't know if we I don't I don't know are we supposed to pretend that there's no trash there I don't know but we can't put our trash out till eight o'clock at night okay when it's dark so no one can see it so no one can see it then it's not there it's not there it's crazy and you have to have a cover in your trash can and you know people are putting out too much trash I mean I do get it when you're in a community you kind of all have to just speak the same language and that there are rules for our reason and I do understand it however I don't some of them are just ridiculous and and are baseless sometimes right when I read it I went yeah the same reaction yeah I get it but oh come on really you know I mean sometimes you know we're talking you were talking earlier about you know watching watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and then kind of wrapping it up for them yeah on a on a Sunday night particularly if if you know Mariana is staying over with us by seven o'clock or so you know we're starting to wrap it up and and she's got school in the morning and and we have we got to go to work and we have morning meetings and everything else so like seven o'clock-ish I'm like you know what I'm gonna take the trash out yeah you know because I'm I'm gonna if I'm not in shorts in a t-shirt already I'm gonna get in my shorts and a t-shirt I ain't gonna wait till eight o'clock yeah when the Sun goes down to pretend I don't have trash not until 8 PM not until 8 P.M before that your trash has to stay in your garage as we're moving into the season I do want to stress a little bit of water safety I know that it is a lot going on we had somebody pulled from the canal yesterday really yeah oh I know and I it that story in Castle Island it's just I do just want water safety please if you've got little people keep an eye on them if you've got teach them how to swim I said as soon as we moved into this house when we bought this house 24 years ago I just said our kids will all have swim lessons we've got the pond across the street and kids do dumb things and they get loose and they break away from you and things happen and we have had drownings in this Pond and it is super scary and devastating and if there's nothing else you can teach them is to at least figure out a way to float at any age get them swim lessons be mindful of where the water is and uh be careful of water safety you're not Invincible freaks me out it's just and when I saw that someone was pulled from the canal uh they're investigating that I don't know the circumstances involved in all of that but it just it freaks me out it's the time of year that this stuff happened yeah this is this is not to be to be critical of the family because they're um they're going through an awful lot but um the family of the of the four-year-old um who um devastating was a Castle Island and and disappeared and they found him at another another Island in in Boston Harbor he was on the autism spectrum and people who have have autism apparently have a thing about water I don't know if it's they they can't understand it they're attracted to it I don't I don't quite understand it um but a good friend of mine was head of Autism Speaks in New England for a while and she would tell me about how they were constantly funding swimming programs and swimming lessons to teach you know the folks on the on the Spectrum how to swim just basic safety stuff too right right and um Blue Man Group was going to do a fundraising event and she had to go to Blue Man Group watch the show and then sit down with him afterwards and say that just sounds like such a bad idea you can't spray the front row you can't make this loud noise because I've lived in a Blue Man Group you can't flash these lights probably not a place for people with Autism no no and and even though they made all the changes she asked for it's still freaked people out freak you know freak people out and that's just how they are and and you know God bless them but um you really got to be careful and and the and the thing about people with Autism is some of them are not obviously autistic right you know yeah and that was the other thing about Autism Speaks there was a split in Autism Speaks because Autism Speaks um used to say that they were raising money to find a cure and they took the find a cure party yeah it's not a cure and there was a splint in the organization because some people wanted a cure and some parents and some people differently that's it I don't need to be cured now different neighborhood I'm fine you know I've got a good job yeah and I can take care of myself when the parents don't have to worry about them so it's kind of you know it's it's growing up a tough one we're all growing up and learning what it is Freebird is now known as Snowbird Aaron that's perfect 100 Amy thank you so much for joining us this morning if you're not you couldn't pay me to see Taylor Swift hey we got the Baja Brothers of The Villages oh look at you party on down yeah I'm hanging out with the bajas actually the first week of June we're doing a fundraiser over at the Boys and Girls Club it's gonna be held at popping asset uh such a great place to go see a show so if you want to support the Boys and Girls Club not sure what they're left for tickets maybe a couple left um I enjoy that show bajas are always a good time yeah but I understand love their tequila they're better they're better earlier in the show yeah once in love their tequila yeah as time goes on we caught them at the tail end of a um of a set at oh I forget where um someplace in in had a watering hole nearby yeah Watering Hole down and down in Hyannis and I was like really these are the Baja Brothers I've been hearing about yeah the Baja themselves yeah yeah but but then everybody said oh you're gonna see in the beginning they're great I love that explanation beginning of the night wonderful wonderful and as long as you're progressing in the party with them you don't notice right you can't join the party at the end uh-uh that's not gonna happen no not gonna happen and that was the problem here we were late to the party we were somewhere else and it was like no no you got to grow that party with that I don't get it you're not and you're not I don't get it nope nope nope gonna be fine with someone playing a saxophone on your lap that's how it's gonna end the night just be accepting of it I've been to a shower too yeah yeah the sex guy the sex saxophone guy those end up kind of wandering around at the end of the night yep it's definitely worth a a gander yeah get there in the beginning correct party on with yes uh so anything else you want to hit before we leave everyone for this Tuesday well tomorrow's Mary's birthday by the way if I didn't mention that already that's it tomorrow is Lily's golden birthday golden birthday what does that mean that means she's 17 on the 17th oh right oh so I missed my gold I missed my golden birthday when I was 26 and didn't even know what the hell that meant so I I I never would have been no I'm thinking that ever would have worked for me now you never would have been what I never would have been what date is your birthday 23rd yeah so when you were 23 that was your golden birthday you were 23 on the 23rd I don't know if I was though no you never turned 23 no no oh oh okay all right I get it I get it I'm thinking oh God I think it never was 23 guys you just skipped right to where he is I think I think I've been with the boss all morning no I'm saying the start of the
