Made by machine from the recording, so a name or two may be off. About 11,943 words.
I peel back the screen Hank then I turn up the microphones and then we're here hey good morning boys and girls hi now folks I don't know if I should be worried or not because Stephanie's right calling me out with a crayon right away like I don't know if that's a good thing or a or a bad thing Mario I need new pens but when they take the sharp objects away from people and give them crayons could be a long morning though I find everything size everything's fine okay that was our running joke over the weekend when I was in p-town whenever things weren't going my way do you ever see that Meme with the little kid crying and she's got her hand in her arm and she's just coloring away so here we are everything's fine it's Tuesday how is your week going so far it's nice and short yeah so far I know if you had yesterday off which I sort of did but I sort of didn't but that was okay I got to sleep in a little bit right I really did pick my moments this weekend to relax yeah I did where I felt like you were all over the dang Place yeah we were we were but it was a nice it was a nice weekend actually to to do various kinds of stuff and we actually stayed on Cape the whole weekend very nice which is to me anyway a major accomplishment so I gotta thank our sponsors I'm going to thank MBR Landscaping thank you for everything that you do cleaning Landscaping they've got the carpentry with DM carpentry now you can find them online uh MBR landscaping.com also thank you to Rockland Trust Tommy's place we are looking for you to put on a lemonade stand we have kit set every single Rockland Trust branch not just here on Cape Cod everywhere and we are doing lemonade stands to raise money for Tommy's place I'm gonna actually talk with Tim O'Connell uh later on next week about the new Tommy's place that is opening this week in Centerville oh that's great and uh they're already fully booked for the summer wow which is sad though I know how many kids have cancer it's just like really really sad yeah a lot more than we realized I know so good morning good morning Serafina I don't know what just fell on my foot I don't know if it's a cat a kid I don't know who's awake upstairs dad's gone so so who's going to get him up for school this morning I said I'm not coming back up here today so you need to do this on your own I'm sure by 8 A.M it's going to be like sorry mom works in the morning yeah exactly you know you didn't hear any feet movement so they're gonna ask their sister I'm sure yeah I haven't heard anybody yet up there yep I came in it was very quiet well that's probably going to be the last of the quiet because our J ones arrive this weekend oh cool all four of them four four I thought they were three we got down to three and then now another one has been added four so they're four four would-be doctors yep we're gonna work at Dunkin Donuts correct are any of them going to the Dunkin Donuts the time forgot no I think they're going to the other one oh Lin's in the Bahamas well then miss Lynn enjoy your time there excuse me yeah right enjoy it good morning Lenore all happy birthday to our friend Missy turning 17 years old I saw her prom photos over the weekend she goes to Sturgis one uh we got to be good why my mother-in-law was watching ah you're sainted mother-in-law I was watching mother-in-laws watching good morning sainted mother-in-law hi Mari said hi from me and Mary we are walking I love it good morning Caitlin how's the bus going miss Caitlin Kate let us know I've saw the finished product they rescued this boss out of a I remember you talking remember we had them on the show her and John yes and uh it looks like they've made tremendous strides in getting this bus to actually work sounds cool and it's just for a family vacationing thing it's not uh run tours or anything like that they've just been rehabbing it the bus that they discovered abandoned in the woods yes and they thought yeah while coming back from vacation from like 1972 in a Grateful Dead concert I think the 50s I think it's the 50s yeah it had several lives already it was a commuter bus in Jersey and then it became a tour bus for a band and then now it's going to be their family a little uh little travel thing so I love that it has its third life right now very cool stuff um also I do want to mention that we've got the marketplace coming up at knock about and that is happening our Sunday morning markets and if you'd like to be a part of it you're a vendor you're creative you're a crafter you're a maker you do something really cool we'd love to have you it's going to be on the fourth and the 25th this month and if that's successful we're gonna plan out the rest of the summer so I definitely think that uh many more people are going to be excited about that just guys to shop sit relax and they have the space there to do it too and they have plenty of space yeah my daughter was there over the weekend a lot because it was Memorial Day Weekend Lenny Clark performed there last night and I think I would have rather have seen Lenny Clark than the Celtics last night I'll tell you that oh I I stayed up my my brothers and I yeah I know it I took a nap in the afternoon so I so I'd make it um but my brothers and I text back and forth watching the game and it was oh my gosh you know I think I was telling you um before we went on I'm not a betting person I don't have a betting app um because I know just enough about sports to be dangerous so I don't have a sports betting app or anything but when I saw the Celtics were favored by seven and a half I thought maybe I need to put some money down on Miami because that's not going to happen you should have told that to Cliff last night he would have hey at least if you're going to lose you might as well make a little money off of it oh Clifford has your bats of course he does I didn't know that he doesn't often do it but when we were at the Bruins that day he immediately downloaded it and he was like all right let's place a bet on this and have a little fun while we're sitting here when he was awake yeah yeah before the nap time okay because if you know my husband he's napping no matter what it is that we're doing right right I don't nap in the middle of things as a rule I have a specific time when I when I nap so I got to Provincetown over the weekend I got to go see misconception what a show I definitely suggest you go see it it was her first show of the new season she's been there for five years at the pilgrim house and uh she it was it was funny it was wild it was an extra 20 minutes yep because it was too long she had to cut down some stuff in the show she had a fall then an audience participation member fell I mean I did nothing but laugh it was fantastic and what a true showman misconception is he is fabulous I'd suggest you go see the show at some point this summer there'll be a hundred of them plenty of time for you to go check it out you should get tickets yeah and all the stars are rolling into p-town right now I saw Seth rudetsky who I'm a super fan of he's got a show on Sirius XM uh for Broadway and I'm telling you when you name any Broadway tune even Off-Broadway he can immediately play it sight unseen really and jam with that no matter who is in the room with him it's his incredible musicianship it's like nothing you've ever seen go take in a show in Provincetown this summer I'm telling you talking about the Stars coming in there was a report that was not contradicted at bucatinos which is a restaurant not far from where we are yeah that people reported that Ina Gartner and her husband were sitting at the bar one night having dinner Aina does frequent the area we do get a lot of stars that come to the cave oh we do yeah they usually don't hang out and mingle with us peasants but Ida was fine to belly up to the bar she's that kind of gal yeah I think she's really because she kind of cultivates His Image as being kind of kind of vladidar and everything but I've never really bought that no I think she's a gimme a beer girl yeah she is absolutely a wine or make sure it's good that's for sure true Kate says the bus is from 1953 and you got it in primer very cool God it's as old as me yeah right good morning John good morning Nancy thank you guys for checking in Rebecca how the hell are you hope you everyone had a great weekend good morning Janet and once again happy birthday that's my mother-in-law oh hi Janet so over the weekend we had uh the national cemetery I was at thank you so much for coming you were going to go anyway your brother was there last year anyway by chance right we got a chance to chat with him and his wife who they're fabulous people thank you and uh they asked me back again to host this year the weather could not have been nicer it was such a nice weekend weather-wise perfect low humidity nice sunny good Breeze and we moved to an actual stage last year we had a floating stage in the other area well see when when Mariana and I came I said to we came down the driveway and I said and it's going to be right he oh no it's not it's not there this year it's not it's not there this year so oh well that's a permanent stage for things to be at they are working on getting a sale over it so they've got a little head coverage oh neat yeah so every single year that I mean Mark Poland does a fabulous job just putting all the programs together for our national cemetery and the amount of people that came out really was lovely it was it was young old no don't bring your dogs the minute Mark saw the dogs he's like didn't you see the song it says no but I felt bad because Kate I brought your mom and your mom is a uh an empath so um she was definitely feeling the spirits that were there she's like you didn't worry it was a cemetery I was like I just assumed you knew I'm sorry I didn't prep her for it but but as you were saying on the on the on the radio show before we started doing this one of the um neat things about having a mixed audience particularly an audience of older people when things like the sound system don't work you know it immediately yeah no sense of decorum this is a very serious event where we're honoring those who have given their lives to the service of our country and I love it though it made me so happy it immediately took that stress out of trying to be reverent and serious yep and honor to all right well I better speak up because uh this audience ain't gonna have this oh yeah but I feel really bad for the sound guy he was really stressing out and when you stepped up and someone shouted I can't hear you I thought oh God here we go there you go if you're gonna hear somebody here you go buddy that's it I immediately went in that as the sound guy was trying to turn it up so I was like hold on we adjusted we moved on right we had an amazing guest speaker every single year it's different last year we had somebody whose father was buried in the space and she kind of grew up as a military brat and she was in the usually someone from the administration not necessarily the national cemetery but somebody in the government somewhere to come and speak this year we had Dr Prince and she was phenomenal her stories oh my gosh she is um what's her official title deputy director for the defense pow Mia accounting agency laboratory what that means is is that she is part of the agency that identifies remains uh when they are um you know discovered and she discovered in preparing for a presentation that she in fact had identified the remains of three people who were buried at the cemetery yeah and that was pretty much the focus of her um of her talk and as I said Mariana was there and I wasn't sure how she was going to respond to any of this and she was just riveted yeah listening to the listening what a cool job to be called by the government in Korea I'd be like okay I'm gonna go fly to Korea and accept the remains of these 50 soldiers 52 right yeah and then take them back to the lab and then begin the process of identifying these soldiers so that they have a name on their headstone and so that they're buried where they belong I mean that's an incredible job there was one from Pearl Harbor there was one from Korea so that's what she she lives in Hawaii right and she flies around the world collecting remains and then bringing them back to the lab and then identifying them I mean it's a pretty amazing job right to have within the government she's got a nine-year-old son we were talking about just her life in general and they've got good friends that kept an eye on her son because her husband's also in the military working space so they're always going places so it's it was just a pretty incredible thing that they she had three different instances where she had gone somewhere brought back the remains and entered them there plus didn't she go to your alma mater I think she was a BC BC guy I don't know I'm I'm bu oh she was a bu gal yes I didn't know that yeah she was that's when she went to grad school okay all right I know but I don't know if it was in her bio we were discussing it and I was like oh that's why I was happy that uh that Hank was there no no there's no there's no bu there's um uh uh James Madison George Washington University I don't know why it didn't say there because she said that that's where she went to grad school on one of her degrees one of her degrees maybe they they cut her uh bio down I know I cut her bio down I was like I am not reading all this read it read the back of your program everybody it's right there right right oh no she's one of those people that has that has multiple yes yes and is fairly young for what she does yeah she seemed to be on yeah that was sitting in the back so um I couldn't tell but she seemed to be you know young but you're right what an amazing it really was so I definitely suggest that you get to our national cemetery 1700 volunteers this year put out those flags at every single space so uh it's an incredible recognition of what Memorial Day was so we thank you for that and I want to give a shout out to a dear friend of ours we've known for a long time since we've been in uh been here on Cape Paul Schrader uh from from Sandwich Paul is one of the volunteers at the building when you go in and you you know look up and try to find your loved ones oh nice and everything else and Paul God bless him he's in his 80s that's awesome really really cool he's a he's a Lecter at um uh Christ the King Church you would never think he was 80 something years old he and his wife have been married I think I don't know God know how many years that they've been married just celebrated on an anniversary and and Paul is just a really cool guy so you know a shout out to Paul for uh being a being a volunteer and doing that love that thank you Kelly oh don't forget that if you want to go and see anyone that is interred at our national cemetery here you can just go to vlm.org remember and you can leave a note you can see their site you can see there's Stone you can find out more information about their service yeah you can you can add whatever it is that you want to so if you know somebody that's buried there that has accommodations or medals you can take photos of them upload them leave them well wishes whatever it is you want people to know every single soldier has their own sight um which is pretty incredible yeah I I went and found my dad's and my dad's been gone 15 years so I've been to the cemetery countless times yeah I always tell myself I haven't been there enough but you know I get there when I can and if you decide folks that you're going to go you know go look up your service person just be ready yeah you had an emotional moment which instantly emotional because you bring up the website and their name is there and you scroll down a little and then you see their headstone and there was something about seeing my dad's name on a website and then his headstone that I've seen Lord knows how many times I turn into a puddle yeah you know and and then I went to to leave a message and I had to keep looking at it to make sure I left the right thing because I'm wiping my eyes and it's nice to know that someone took the time to sit there and photograph every single one of those and upload that yeah I mean there's a lot it's a lot it's overwhelming to find yeah so yeah it is incredible I definitely suggest you go there and just see what we have here and the thing is when he was buried there 15 years ago we thought oh my God he's all the way out here there's no one else out here let me tell you fox after 15 years don't worry he's got a lot of company got a lot of friends a lot a lot a lot a lot of friends for sure our question of the day today is what do you do for your creativity how are you using it in whatever fashion uh I like to talk to people that's what I do you like to write I like to write I mean we've had everything cooking knitting whatever it was that you did during the pandemic please share with us or maybe it's something new that you've just recently found I know um my kids are really good about fostering their creativity whether it's painting or gardening or or playing sports or however they like to get it out it's ever evolving which I love watching and uh they're really good about taking their space for for their creativity yeah Lily's Lily's gone out front is really is really coming along she's getting there well she's got that she had her second prom over the weekend I know she went with her best friend Noah I know right the two of them their social lives are blossoming I love summer oh that's good that's good they're just so busy so so Lily had the front yard going yeah and then Cliff made an interesting Discovery in the backyard I don't even know if I'm ready to talk about it okay well you don't have to I'm sorry I can't do it yesterday and the day before that my husband has been Excavating what has become just an absolute bleep show in our backyard and getting it ready we gotta have summer people over and he had the fire pit area already then got the side yard all ready then started clearing stuff off of the deck one of which was one of our seven coolers from the summer well as he's hosing them all down and and doing his uh heavy spraying on everything he opened up one of the coolers decide one of the chorus was like a family-sized pack of Nathan's Hot Dogs that had been in there all winter long that smell permeated neighborhood all afternoon all afternoon like it went outside in the front yard and I was like oh oh and you know how I am with smells now they need to be identified because of the incident in our neighborhood right Nick next door like two weeks ago yeah the wafting people roast that was happening across the street this one was wretched it was like straight soupy garbage I don't even know if an animal eats that in my backyard they're dead they're immediately dead I don't know what's gonna happen there but it is so rancid so this is my PSA to you make sure that you clear out all of your coolers before the summer ends please I beg of you make sure that there's nothing in it and it was a form it was not our cooler oh wasn't your cooler for someone who brought oh I don't think you want it back and you're not going to get it back oh you know and it's easy enough to do to leave something in the cooler and and tell yourself forget about it I'll get it later and then you forget about it and something happens and then you put something on top of the cooler and what happens all of a sudden you're not you're not cooking outside anymore in the cooler you know well the weather's not bad here we'll just I mean I always had a cooler on the uh back when we had a backpack cooler in the back deck and next to the grill and it was the what it was the old water there were old water logged Nathan's Hot Dogs I'm not gonna be able to have one this season and no and no animal or they couldn't get in there cooler oh they couldn't knock the cooler oh okay I would have thought that by that by now someone would have it was so bad it was so bad I also a raccoon or something like that would have opened it I mean they're pretty smart I also found I didn't want to eat it and I also found a bird's nest inside with baby birds included inside of a Target bag that I had full of all of our lotions are like our sunscreen I have a sunscreen bag okay that we left inside of one of the drawers full of baby birds but you didn't touch it though because if you touch it the string of the target bag and I was like ah closed it and now it's just hanging off the back of my deck because the mother won't come back I didn't touch it I didn't abandon it oh good okay no all of them are now gone by yesterday afternoon it seems as if she realized they discovered they were they were ready to fly okay they weren't like little little babies oh all right they were ready to go thankfully I'm sure my cat probably ate them watch oh no I flew away well they probably had an untimely death now that they can't realize what they were our dog Trinity the last dog we had was a very gentle dog and we never really had anything hatching or anything in the backyard and and one year there was a nest or whatever of baby rabbits yeah and Trinity who I said was the most gentle dog in the world started to play with them oh and we'd go out and look and go oh she got that one luckily they're bunnies yeah they'll be more they'll be more yeah wait about 20 minutes I know I know but we know about any more baby bunnies in our backyard the word must have gone out not here yeah linear creative is uh out in cooking there you go I'm I'm just always looking for new things to cook I'm so supremely bored I'm thankful my husband Unearthed the the grill thankfully no living things in it or forgotten things oh that's good but I am definitely looking forward to grill season even though on the cape I feel like we don't ever stop grilling season but yeah I do there's a season for us I don't I don't even bother with it anymore so um we've been secondhand thrifting for Lily's new show that's coming up lady LaRue's tea for two which is happening over at knock about our first one is coming up on June 11th very excited she has opened it up to five more spaces so she's feeling confident enough that she can handle a group of 25 to 30. so I was like all right we'll see about this so we're thrifting we're looking for fun doilies and fun tea cups and fun stuff to add to her show and her performance right where I'm going through this bin in the second hand store and I Unearthed this magical record here and I had a good laugh at it pardon my blooper oh can you I was Jarred first off to see the word boners like like a 12 year old boy that I am oh my goodness but I was like they actually put radio bloopers on records and tried to sell them man where we start for entertainment hey it's volume eight and only right right so maybe it's kind of like the Jerky Boys where they made crank calls to people and then tape them and then use them to sell but this was entertainment do you have a turntable yeah I do yeah I'm gonna have to play I'm definitely gonna play some of these an album of radio and TV's most hilarious boners on the air pardon my blooper it just made me laugh I was like that is coming home with me first off I'm gonna see if it's funny and there's a Mr blooper guy yeah right he's a guy he's a guy Mr blooper there he is meet Mr blooper Kermit Shaffer well that name sounds like a blooper to begin with boy have there any have there been named any kermits after Kermit the Frog I don't think that I mean Mr Blue for the inside story of radio TV producer Kermit shaffer's fabulous blooper collection right his tape recorders and his listening past oh yeah I was like wow that we really were starved for entertainment I figured you know during the writer strike I need something to entertain myself as we're not getting it much new stuff that's coming out and I guess this guy had quite a story because I don't know if you can see this she really enjoyed himself actually you can't see it it's fine it's so fine print here that that like I'm right on top of it with my glasses and I can't oh my God this guy yeah these are there are people like that I know of one in real life and the whole blah blah blah ends with a quote from Alexander Pope to air as human to forgive Divine what does that have to do with radio this guy loves himself a whole heck of a lot wow and it seems like he's made a career on saving other people's bits I guess well that's kind of a sad life I know I know one of those know me in my radio career you know exactly who I'm talking about oh that guy Lynn said I have more cooking Pages than friends on Facebook I appreciate that very much so hey Mark how are you somebody has doilies oh Patricia uh we could eat 10 more if you've got things and folks if you have your grandmother's stuff still in your attic you've probably got teacups and doilies and all those things I know right yeah I wish I had all the stuff that my grandmother had when she passed she was a collector she was a hoarder but she loved to go to places like brimfields and go to Maine and go through all of those shops there and collect she loved Hummels yep oh my mother did too and milk glass and then there was one other thing that she loved to collect I don't know what it was but we had a ton of it you know the sad thing about Hummels was when they when they were collecting them people of that generation they they thought it was an investment right and they were going to be worth more right and come to find out they really weren't no no there are some of them that are yeah but I mean I don't think that that was what they invested their money in no no if you lived too long the Hummels weren't really weren't working yeah Patricia said I'll take them out Hank you're right they were my Nana's yeah absolutely 100 but I love that my daughter loves that she's got she's got a her little show trunk that she's working on filling and doing it properly and caring for these so at least they're in the hands of someone that's actually using them and will care for them which I love yeah I think that that's important to to remember that time and it makes me definitely think of my grandmother I'm like Oh my nana would love this right absolutely love this I'm disappointed Mitch larouche t for two that's it all right lady LaRue oh lady LaRue that's right well lady LaRue stuffed her costume in a bucket over there I was like um how much did you pay for that probably put it on a hanger no well lady LaRue's mother over here is not pleased with her ladyship right now oh dear all right so you said that people were complaining about little mermaids the live action once again the writers are on strike and now we're watching live action stuff they were complaining about Ursula's makeup yeah some people are like like all offended I've seen a couple of stories that the makeup isn't appropriate or it's too much or I don't know I don't know what it is and again you just think it's a movie folks you know who cares just become no it got it got lousy reviews from the critics but the folks who saw it this weekend apparently thought it was great and the kids loved it and the kids don't care about the makeup sorry I just found that I have two copies of it on VHS and apparently that's worth money I told you I've been watching these new shows I think it's gold or golden I can't remember which one of it is a online auction house just like your Beady babies Lynn uh there was a woman that was a professional beanie baby doctor that sat there and went through every single one of the Beanie Babies and was like oh see how that one slouches to the left that one's not worth as much money see how that one sits like this see this one's tag and I'm like wow this is your life right you sit there and you Scope stuffed animals it's weird yikes but those collectors items that you've got stored away somewhere I just found out all of my Disney things are worth money oh really and I was just gonna drop them off at knock about because it's the only place I know that actually still plays vhs's well don't do that yeah right well now I'm gonna have to sift through them but where are you gonna go when you have these Collectibles it's not like I'm gonna go take it to Antiques Roadshow here look at my vhs's yeah seriously they're not into that now uh-uh I always wondered I've always wanted to find something cool somewhere and have it worth a gajillion dollars right I mean that's everybody's dream right yeah you stumbled upon this that you purchased for four dollars right and now it's worth a half a million because you cared for it and and have them go very calmly right subscribe where it came from and everything I would estimate that this is worth uh four million dollars oh okay thank you family don't you love their action when they find out the reaction whether they whether it's worth 32 cents or 32 million dollars on these people is always the same I love the ones that think that they have something really special and that it's worth like they're like it's ten dollars so that they're like yeah like I've made sure that this was so cared for right right I broke up with boyfriends over this right well lady it's worth 10 bucks so good luck to you sorry find a boyfriend isn't that awful we love that oh I know it bring it on the demise my son's getting ready um we had an excavation of bedrooms yesterday there's an awful lot of work going on around this place two sinks full of dishes that's what's in the sink that just came out of my son's room two I came in this morning and I looked over and I thought like what Steph's been working all weekend I know but who who the heck had the party and left stuff all these dishes now that party has been going on in my son's bedroom for Lord knows how long where was he keeping them I don't know under as bad under his stuff in his drawers have you been missing dishes and just buying more you had no Forks I was like I know that there are Forks in this house go empty your bedrooms immediately both of them are so wretched it's not even funny oh my goodness well after the great hot dog incident in the back cooler I was like that's it everybody like this is our come to Jesus let's get all this stuff going please let's go and that's where everybody started and my husband was like you're not going and no one's going anywhere with friends and or otherwise until your rooms are emptied of dirty clothes and emptied of dirty dishes well wouldn't you know my son rolls down yesterday with two two stacks of dishes like he had been running a restaurant upstairs that I had no idea of two full sinks of dishes they're not clean they're now so they're soaking right in the sink before I'm gonna end up doing them and then they're gonna have to go in the dishwasher soak first I'm not even going to be able to do anything today until I do it because I was like I'm not doing anything until you okay you have to go to school yeah so I'll be doing dishes if you want to know where I am Stephanie will be doing dishes right scrubbing whatever and how about clothes I mean I'm sure it's easy I mean we all you know we all toss clothes all I wanted to do was pack him for Washington DC's only going for three days with school I just wanted to find three outfits that he can wear in public that I won't be embarrassed by while he's going to school that's it that's all I wanted and did you find them I don't know I don't know what's happening on my dining room table now but now it's oh it's all folded it's all folded yeah I don't know where it goes what fits what's keeping what's not he probably has clothes in there from when he was five I don't even know what he has because both of my children are Hoarders and they won't get oh I need that they they formulate some weird memory to things and then they can't get rid of it I can't get rid of that so and so I wore that for this specific game and I might need that at some point well I don't think you're gonna need your jersey from when you were six and played t-ball right and I can be really bad at Hanging On to stuff because but I'm I don't even think I'm that bad no we don't we don't need it this is not something that we need Lisa been there done that hahaha I love that bear is laid out the law what a joke I tried what a softy what you really need to do is just move yeah I think so too and then can we just leave it behind and start again and then you'll get you get you know you get rid of all this stuff and you're gonna have to start all over it yeah I've got four more years and then I think cliff and I are going to the condo we're gonna find out the 55 plus and just to be there you come to the Villages maybe I don't know I need to but I want to just leave all of this right no the house as as it is you have to take everything with it oh no don't don't no no don't don't do that because I had an incident last week I guess yeah where I ended up having to sweep the basement floor because the buyers were offended that they couldn't I swear they thought it would and that they were gonna eat them eat a meal off the basement seriously and it wasn't clean enough seriously yeah that was a closing point where you had to sweep the basement did the walk through I had I had to swoop to measurement and I said just in passing well you know I just live around the corner and I can go get my broom and sweep it up if you want and the wife looks at me and goes I want and it's the first time in talking to Mari I ever pulled the 70 year old card right I said that's Amari ice look I went and I did it and I said but how big a bunch of jerks can these people be they're asking a 70 year old guy to sweep their flipping basement and it's not even your house no it's a condo we sold these people I know they're not watching us two of the worst human beings and that's all I'll say because Mari will tell me to be bad for business I'm glad that you mentioned that because I was having this conversation with my son who is uh not having an issue with someone but I said there is going to be at some point in your life that you're going to have to work with people that you just don't like right and it's part of life that you have to be pleasant and work through it and put your best foot forward and then decide you're never going to work with those people again and you're never gonna have to see those people but in this moment in this time with this teacher you are just gonna have to finish the year the way it is yup got a month left put your best foot on get to school get it done right right June 1st is like uh Wednesday Thursday right and then you get your Coast I mean pretty soon the teachers you've got three weeks left the teachers have already packed it up it's basically I'm not doing anything we've got final exams this week right and next week we're through the MCAS thing apparently my school is the piloting of the Civics MCAS they're adding another congratulations yeah they're like just so you know we're piloting and uh we were chosen I'm like why would they tell us that a Civics MCAS we need another test do we need that just teach them Civics folks I mean clearly given what's happened politically over the last couple of years people need to know Civics again but do we need an mcast for that kids are already stressed out you need that more I don't know and haven't we pretty much decided that standardized testing is BSN it really is what do we have growing up the Iowa's right yes yeah what was wrong with the Iowa's I I don't know Massachusetts we could do it better we can do it better of course let's add more tests more I had the nuns so I mean you know we learned we learned I had the nuns too we learned you got a ruler here we can we can but I know my multiplication tables even now I love to God Rest Your Soul Sister Pauline I'm gonna know if somebody skips my class because this is what I do I send down the paper you write your name down and you do it in this order okay Sarah can you write my name down for me because I'm not going to Sister Pauline's class no problem because she couldn't see I'm gonna see this is a bishop fan this is a fan okay I was directly in front of her I'm very loud I'm very noticeable couldn't hear couldn't see she didn't notice I wasn't there Sarah behind me wrote my name down I was there and I'm trying to remember what what I don't know what better thing I had to do that what's the Sister Pauline teacher um English oh okay oh okay teeny tiny little sister Pauline yes yes she was like four foot eleven yes she barely see over her desk right all the nuns there was one of our senior pranks one year that's one of the boys put blue writ dye in their pool well the canals and what what is it there's a canal in Venice that's green and nobody knows why well we we turn the nuns blue okay all blue well a lot of them were blue-haired anyway so rotten kids we were rotten children you good Catholic children I don't know well you know what the problem was the problem was it wasn't Newcastle kids it was the other kids yeah right it's always the other kid who's the other kid the ones we let in because we had to right I was teaching what a joke when I when I was teaching a bishop fan there was a problem up at King Philip high school yeah and a lot of the parents decided they were going to bring their kids to Bishop Theon so that nuns would straighten them out yeah guess what most of the teachers at Bishop fee and lay faculty just like the faculty up at King Philip yeah there ain't no nuns gonna straighten them out they got the same they got the same teacher right right Mario right she said please teach them how to write a check to a budget save some money Etc something that they could use and then let's have a test really like right what happened to life skills where is that MCAS life skills ever failed failed failed bring back home economic yes bring back oh God bring back cooking how to do your dishes how to do your laundry right how to sweep floors in a basement how to sweep basements clean enough that you can eat after we gotta Hank we got the old guy he'll do it right yep I can sweep the floor that's for naming sure unreal it was Unreal I cannot believe that and you know what after they closed they had a cleaner come in to clean the place so I'm like what unbelievable it was clearly just you know how you say things because you feel like you have to say them you make an offer because you want to sympathize you're uncomfortable okay you know and then and the expected response from any decent human being would be oh no that's okay we've got a cleaner coming in tomorrow right right exactly but not these people well speaking of houses I saw that the exterior shots in the TV series The Brady Bunch is on the market with an asking price of 5.5 million dollars I thought they already sold it to HGTV I thought you did too I thought I read that somewhere I agree so the homemade famous by exterior shot so the outside of it is on the market I don't get what they're doing with the Brady Bunch here they're showing the outside but not the inside that is just the weirdest thing I've ever heard of I have no idea you're you're that my accent that makes no sense that makes no sense and I did see that Celine Dion has canceled all of her stuff 2023 2024 I really think that uh she is is struggling with this she has stiff the generic name for it or the normal name for it is stiff body syndrome yeah it does some kind of medical medical name but it's a neurological disease of some sort yeah I wonder if it's something similar to Parkinson's it kind of sounds like it yeah I watched the Michael um J fox documentary that's on Apple TV yeah very good yeah very good he's a he's a force yeah yeah he really is he's an absolute Force I love that I I didn't realize he has four children I didn't realize how much Hitman his wife just they they just love each other they spend so much he spends so much time working on his um movement his body how much work he does every single day to just remain present yeah and alive and and I mean he was diagnosed oh he shouldn't be alive at least 28 years old he shouldn't be alive now and he's still like running around tearing it up walking around falling down everywhere he's like I don't care that's part of my life he's like oh there was one point where the woman was putting makeup on him because he had another black eye yeah he's like nah I hit the couch oh he takes it in such strides I thought it would be my husband didn't want to watch it because he's like oh that's just going to be sad right but it wasn't it was really uplifting it left with an uplifting message it was nice it wasn't like the Val Kilmer thing where I felt bad for Val Kilmer at the end of it Michael J fox where he's he's not great he barely spoke through the whole thing he's got like that voice box voice oh okay um it was just kind of like this was my career how wonderful it was where Michael J fox is like I'm fighting I've always been a scrapper I'm fighting for every ounce of this I want you to know I'm still here right I'm still doing stuff he's raised billions of dollars for Parkinson's research he's done an amazing incredible job with his life and what he's leaving as his legacy and um he's still he's still kicking every single day and I loved it right and in line with that we're quite passed away really super sad do you think it was just something like a broken heart I don't you know or was it his time I wasn't sure it was 60 one he was 61. yeah early 60s that's a long time to be in a wheelchair yeah yeah you know and and he really I mean he couldn't I mean he was one of those folks that communicated with a you know with the computer in the eye movement as well I think um but that's got to take a toll yeah well he's reunited with his dad now who is his biggest champion oh my goodness caregiver and devoted his whole life to his care I mean it really was beautiful oh yeah and the family was gonna have a a memorial a race or something yeah uh right before he passed away and they and they wouldn't held it anyway yeah um an Incredible family they really are oh to think that that Dad pushed him I mean when he was a young guy that's fine but when when the dad got to be you know older to to still be so rocking Boston marathons yeah but to see the dad I mean the dad was yeah that's it I wouldn't want to mess with him no I mean that's longevity right there though if you don't use it you lose it so I was using it every ounce of it he was using it for sure good morning John I'll be over at Shipwrecked this week and next week will be our last trivia's inside at night and then we're gonna take a week or two off and then flip the program and move outside when it gets warm and we're going to be doing the summer games which are going to be a lot of fun it's going to be trivia those kind of like the tie Breakers you had last night kind of yes yeah so it's going to be at we've got giant Jenga but it's color-coded so when you pull it you have to answer a certain question kind of like Trivial Pursuit the color that you pull from giant Jenga oh wow and so we'll have some fun prizes it's going to be fun for the whole family we'll be spinning some tunes and I will be outside of Shipwrecked when it's nice Tuesdays and Thursdays so if it's random we're not there so watch the forecast that's it and uh come come play games with us all sorts yeah yeah it'll be fun we'll have to we'll have to get over there yeah I love Shipwrecked they've done a great job and that's right at the Falmouth Road Race Finish Line right where the Hoyts were always a champion of the Falmouth Road Race and they would come oh yeah and shiron are our Racers every single year yep feels for those of you who don't know where shipwreck is it used to be the BBC all of the bbcs are independently owned now yeah and something else except for the one the one iannis that's still the BBC right and uh our friend just took over as the bar manager Jeff so hi guys they're all they're all great and delicious and have different menus but ours is nice Sushi which is fantastic looking forward to that tonight yeah Dino has sushi too yeah same guy oh really same guy same business oh okay so he is uh started his own little side hustle during the pandemic catering to different restaurants and businesses so I think he's in like five different places including Plymouth I want to talk about self self-starter entrepreneurial ship right he's got five five or six guys now that work under his umbrella we're not we're not Sushi people but Cliff was done I Love Sushi that the sushi here is at dinos is fabulous yeah yep he does a really good job I need to sit down and try sushi with someone who knows well Sushi sit down and have Cliff make it for you oh he makes it oh yeah his caterpillar rolls are too pretty to eat sometimes my husband is one of those people that will learn anything by just sitting down and reading a book and they'll be like all right I'll build a house now and he has he rebuilt this house twice wow um he can do pretty much anything if you trades the manual what's the manual I'm not a direction reader right I'm not either which is why which is why I can't do anything well we've got that Ikea set and I was like go ahead and Mr Direction reader you can put it together all by yourself because if I get involved there's got to be a fight so you go right ahead and do it right my brother who you know he's he's a we're going to take the instructions out and then where it says you know there were five screws and four lug nuts and this and that takes everything out of the bag one two three four five one two three four he's got it all I am not those people he's got all got it all laid out and then people put it together me I okay well let's see what we can do here because we're creatives here's this bag of extra screws I have hopefully it doesn't fall apart oh we built we built a bookshelf for uh for our old house we had schools left I think we had a shelf left Serafina I am not shocked that you did not read directions we had to wait for our for our nephew to come and and build the other shelf and then figure out how we screwed up the first one yeah and and he in no time and then we had a lamp um that we bought for the the extra bedroom the office whatever and the instructions were like were like this tiny uh iron glass out and went in so we couldn't even read it so we waited for Ross to come and Ross could you put this together and we went and did something and busted did you put that together oh yeah I'm all done you know just one of those that's why my partner is the one that does those things he's one of those guys I definitely don't uh Eric oh thank you so much for joining us this morning our West Coast I found it's so funny so I was in p-town over the weekend and um my friend Rich had his friends John and Hunter visiting from Sonoma and I said my friends just relocated to Sonoma they're two blocks away from each other really so well that's cool now I'm fast friends and they wanted they want your information so that they can swap because they need more people in their community so I love the fact that here we are on the East Coast making connections for friends on the west coast there you go so that people have more community so you just never know who's gonna show up nope Janet said now HGTV is selling it oh okay all right so the Brady household is being sold by HGTV after they put it back together as the Brady household I think they just wanted it as a project to film it put it back together as the Brady household as we saw it on TV and then now they're selling it for a bigger price point Thank You gotcha all right that makes so much more sense okay just sold thank you for the info well you're the real estate people do you find that people just continuously buy things and then get bored of them or didn't like it or bought where they thought they would like and then they're ready to sell again because I'm not one of those people there are people who do that um our cousin Aaron her folks um by have over the years have bought places fixed them up and then moved on um it's just a well I know that there's a flipper Hobby People um but I just I the thought of selling this house right now makes my skin crawl because it's so much work to be to be had around here well you just get it but I definitely have been entertaining the idea we've been here 22 years well there you go I think I'm I'm definitely ready you've got Equity here I do you know you know since you're talking about me possibly selling your home you know I I happen to work with um I happen to work with my wife you may have heard of her virus Senate you know so so here's the thing see that you know Mary's on the front now honest to God folks I'm on the back of the business oh that's hysterical but how did you get back real estate are you the back end of the business I'm the back end of the business sure I sweep the floors on the back end of the business foreign you're the back end guy oh my goodness Eric you always show up knowing someone we might know Scotland Ireland any gay bar there you are so true so true she's everywhere it really is though I this voice gets me in trouble all the time I open my mouth and then people are like I know you because everybody knows it it's hysterical from the Bahamas it doesn't matter where we were I was laughing at some point and someone was like hey hi Stephanie is at the bottom I was going down with a water slide in Bermuda someone's behind me they were like hey I know you it's very weird waiting in line at um Disneyland I forget where we were somebody totally unrelated hey 70 70. hi as I'm just talking to my family right you know me and my quiet indoor voice yes a little church mouse that I am over here well we can't go anywhere without people knowing and Mari because she knows she knows Realtors across across the country that's it and and we'll be at the dangerous places I gotta I've got to post our matching we had jean jackets it was the jean jacket girls yesterday yes both Mari and I are from the same town very much Cut From the Same Cloth of yes people people right we like to go out there have a conversation yep be part of whatever it is that's going on and you know we end up making connections that's right you just never know how you can help someone somewhere down the road for sure oh yeah because you'd ever know I'm doing what you do doing what that's how you do doing what Mari does I'm just along just with the floor the back end I'm the back end um you know she's the she's the one that makes them that makes the connections and you know I happen to be well but that's how that's how it works someone was asking us we're in our 20th year of marriage and I told my husband I don't know if I want to re-up it's coming in August our anniversary and I was like I'm not impressed teasing him obviously oh my goodness he needs to work a little bit harder as to what's happening with uh all the things that I want and I definitely want a like a ceremony of some sort oh you want like a yes it's been 20 years I want like a re-up I want to see I I don't know if I want to continue this I mean you want them to like propose again no no just kind of like a re renewing of the vows oh really look something small it doesn't have to be with like a bunch of people but I mean having a party would be fun right do you remember your vouching 20 years ago I do well of course that's part of it but I do he really got stuck on the point where there was one of the vows where it was like I had to obey him but he didn't and I said you don't remember I didn't repeat that part I literally did not repeat that part when the guy that was doing it because we got married twice already right we got married once on the beach with all of our friends and family and then we had to go in Monsignor Hawaii had to go and do whatever the thing is and that's where I was sitting at the altar how much do you want right and my husband was horrified right I was like that's what this is right money right oh it is oh it is is this how we're gonna get our children baptized in this church fine we'll get married here oh my God I don't know where he is or what he's doing but he was absolutely my Nana's favorite guy oh he was a wonderful is one actually I don't think he's he's feeling well yeah I don't know where he is and I you know we wish you well Monsignor Hawaii fun guy Daniel good dude really an Attleboro guy yeah yeah you know was it was a a parish priest in in Attleboro left went to Rome was supposedly on the fast track to be a bishop and then the story is he was one of the folks who blew the whistle on Cardinal law and all of a sudden he wasn't the bishop anymore that's it and he was back in Attleboro and at St John's and then he he was also a lawyer so I mean he he knows the rules and he was definitely a rule following guy oh he was he was so the letter of the law yep what a wonderful speaker yeah in a in a very engaging yeah in a in a surprising kind of way yeah usually matter of fact people like that aren't very they don't come off as kind he's not a warm and fuzzy no he's not but he can be and actually is like truly cares so right that's what made the difference there he truly cared oh yeah yeah but definitely not a warm and fuzzy no no no his cousin was was uh his cousin was the mayor of Taunton for a while oh wow I didn't know that yep when I was at the uh the Boys and Girls Club his cousin was uh was that was mayor ton but um yeah a really a really really really really nice man I I fought with him I still have saved emails that I fought with him about certain things can we go back and forth about canon law and other stuff and I'd be like that is not what it means I had no idea he didn't win the argument no obviously I didn't win the argument but it was really fun that he even spent the time to to argue with me back and forth and was still kind to me on Sundays oh yeah he didn't go you Stephanie how that's that I can't take this one I'm sure he rolled his eyes secretly but right I appreciated him very much hopefully he's doing all right yeah yeah and and the new pastor is is an elaboro guy as well yeah right good morning Caroline Tom Ferry does this he remarried Kathy and goes to Italy see yeah I want I want that I want to read renewal I need to decide if I want to say Yes again I don't know if you're worth it kidding but also not hi Michael how are you how's the business going uh my poor kazakhstani was like uh they're coming one of them is coming on Saturday and she's like there's no bus and I'm like well you're gonna have to wait until the morning I'm not going to Boston to come and get you I'm definitely not sending cars this is one of the doctors who's going to work a Dunkin doctor yeah Duncan doctor so then she was asking about she found a bus that's later on in the evening so it's gonna be like midnight when I pick her up but I told her to get off at Sagamore park and ride so she took a screenshot of it and it was funny to see Sagamore written out in Cyrillic oh and then she circled the root and did like the outline do I stop here and I said yes yes but it was Sagamore and then Above It Was Written in Cyrillic all of the stuff that was the surrounding area right I was like all right that's pretty neat all right I know I'm kind of excited for the the little education and uh some customs and traditions that's my favorite part like the first couple of weeks that they're here as you get to know strangers that you're sharing your home with right and Customs their language some other fun stuff so I mean the kids really do get fascinated by it are they all going to go in that in the in the in the guest room yeah it's like a little dorm right it's a hostile man yeah it's not a hostile hostel no it's a nice trip it's a nice job though it's a friendly one that's awesome and if I get locked out one of them will come and let me in home absolutely I'm sure just knock on their window they'll probably like one month oh geez how's Mom by the way because mom hadn't let me in one day oh boy which one his mom my mom his mom your mom my mom uh will be visiting us soon and where's she gonna go I don't know a hotel this is just turning into a fun house it usually is a fun house on the weekends even my friend Dave who was up last weekend of the weekend before that with his kids started going through the RV and he's like oh we need to get that cleaned out my summer residence but I just looked over and I was like welcome to the bleep show if he wants to clean it out a little clean it up absolutely I'm not I mean Lily usually does it and uh I just I need to get it going well Lily's busy with the garden in the front and Miss LaRue's tea for two he needs to get her license Lily needs to get a Joby job is what she needs to do well listen isn't her tea for two thing going to be kind of like jobish yes it is so I'm hoping that that that takes off and she needs to get a license because mom's not gonna drop her off at all of her gigs oh okay mom's having a hard enough time getting to her own pancakes right right we have some new shows coming up to the lineup here on 1180 the zyg zig is going to be having some fun interpretive music and uh that's going to be on YouTube and also on lemonadeio.com really cool yep we've got Cape Vibes coming with the show papanzani is fabulous he works with dirty water TV so he's going to be having his own music intensive kind of fun funky show I'm looking forward to that one rtb's got a countdown show that is going to air Friday nights late nights so we've got something what's it going to be coming down counting down some of the hits 70s 80s 90s he's going to be kind of go going through the decades yeah so some fun new programming coming to lemonadeio we had our auditions for hosts and we've got some new fresh ideas and uh We've gathered who we're going to gather for summer help Brianna is joining the group and she is a fresh graduate of Bridgewater State
