proud of it hello good morning good morning happy Friday I am so pumped that you can join me again Marty it is uh definitely a Friday that I woke up and I was like oh oh wait I only have a show to do and just a little bit of housekeeping around here and then I get a little bit of time off today definitely need it I don't even know how you fit five minutes in your day for anything it has been a whirlwind and uh a very busy day yesterday I did get a chance to squeak in and HP over to habitat for humanities volunteer um it was really funny so I ran into a a supporter Dave hegner and he's said what are you doing here and I'm like what do you mean what am I doing here he's like Stephanie what no seriously what are you doing here I was like I was invited to be here not all volunteers swing a hammer Dave so that You' be more a sledgehammer person I think wouldn't you I think I would really enjoy it Marty I think maybe a little too much so they keep me away from Power Tools what was that comedian that used to do the sledgehammer all the time oh my God I don't know and all of a sudden you said comedian with props and all I could think of is Carrot Top and that's not it Carrot Top also geeez what's so where in the world is Marty today Marty's in Hunter Mountain New York Upstate New York in the cat skills uh large October Fest going on here this weekend and uh it's a family tradition for us I've had friends family friends have been coming up here since I've been 16 so nice little getaway that is so I love Upstate New York it it's so agriculture it's so um we have friends of ours from the cape that relocated to Upstate New York in that same exact area and uh they got a lot of bang for them those ladies have a tractor they are Liv life yes they do those I suppose there a few jokes to say about that too and I'll let that go but good it's a great Community a lot of folk it's not that far away from the cave in Boston four hours five hours so well I missed the the lights last night too oh yeah I didn't see the Northern Lights every time well I was at um so I left the habitat I went from West Dennis Yacht Club to henis Yacht Club beautiful sunset absolutely superb lighting and then all of a sudden the text message is go outside I'm like I'm at hyanis so with all these Yacht Club themes you should be the captain in tenil this weekend this Halloween theme maybe maybe that's what cliff and I need to be for Halloween I'm still thinking of a couple's C costume something fun and funny but obviously it's not uh it's not current what's current actually actually I think if you listen to some of the radio stations the 80s are back music theme wise that format seems to be working pretty well I think that they're trying to tell you that Marty but the style right now is 90s yeah we'll do 80s these kids are wearing everything 90s I was like um what I already wore that she's like my daughter dresses exactly like I did in 1990 she looks way cuter doing it and much more modern but even still I feel like that's a look that didn't need to come back and she's in Salem correct she is she is I can imagine how busy that town is right now oh my it is crazy I was there last weekend and it was just people on people on people and it was um they built in parents weekend to with their Haunted Happenings which was really smart infrastructure wise to get everybody on a bus and just bopping around but same like you throw up a hundred families of freshman's hundreds of families of freshman in there and it was just an insane weekend of people everywhere so I've had my feel of people check oh my God I can't imagine being up there now it's busy enough year round uh in the summertime particularly I can imagine now wow yeah they do a really good job and you were recently up there for uh chamber get together so if you've never seen Marty on the show before Marty is the president of the greater hyenas Chamber of Commerce uh you do so many things you're involved in so many things and I think people forget all of the um activities a chamber director a chamber president is up to right now so many things going on especially the the foliage in the fall well bus tours still very busy on Cape cot hyen the other day I think we had five or six bus tours meeting a lot of folks folks from Iowa the other day really that's a long bus ride well I mean what else is going on in Iowa of course they're here I think radar O'Reilly from uh Mash started the pressing about Iowa right that's awful I poor Iowa I didn't mean to insult you Iowa I know nothing about you I've gone through you with the train that's about it salute goodbye yeah right a lot going on this weekend too you you Sunday I believe correct yes so we've got our pink. 5K so that is happening on Sunday our final regular season Mash B farmers market so it's just going to be a huge Gathering of everybody it's a the nice long weekend it's indigenous people's weekend in Mash piece so we've got a a bunch of great tribe um vendors and information that's going to be at the market uh and yeah my kids were already off of school we had the varsity football game was last night at 4 pm I'm not getting used to this weird schedule where um so my dad came and and pulled parenting Duty because I was running around doing all kinds of stuff and uh so they've got this nice full long weekend so if you're looking for stuff to do there's no shortage of it fall festival that is happening in the mash B Commons outermost Festival my friend Robert is out there right now setting up all the stages talk about somebody who has to set up an event and then has to Pivot he said he showed up um at the beginning of this week and they had to flip the whole setup no stress no none at all but then he gets cool moments where he's walking um around everything that he had set up with G love and Jack Johnson is there and he's like oh you know here you go meet Jack Johnson and it's like oh we we get cool people visiting us here on the C absolutely yeah abely so that's gonna be a huge Festival going on good morning Emily and Sandy uh sand is gonna be at the end of our pink Point 5K doing massages by the way very much thank you to thumbtastic you can get a nice little back rub or a leg rub I know it's only a 0.5k but if you've got ailments we've got fixtures that's a good hashtag to use yeah right well in Yarmouth it's the seaside Festival going on yes fireworks bonfire all weekends going on there so the weather's supposed to be perfect too actually I was looking at the weather forecast Monday that we might hit 70 doesn't this always happen to us Columbus Day indigenous people's weekend it's like all of a sudden the Cape is like oh no we're nice there was one year where we went swimming I think I had a tourist asked me the other day is it Columbus Day or indigenous people's day and I did a little research on this the state doesn't recognize indigenous people's day I think 20 or so cities and towns do but the state does not so I think uh we need to clarify that because tourists are confused enough about the bridges the Montreal the tunnel getting over here we here in Mash B have indigenous people's weekend you can call it whatever it is you want you know it's just a long title on a calendar that's what I love though about our town specifically on the cape while we the diversity the difference and town to town you just go one town over and it's a complete different thing like we had porch Fest and sandwich last weekend but we also had October Fest in Mash B and both were very well attended so there's no shortage of people visiting us for things and the weather was great too it couldn't I Marty I was with you at the kelus car show I got a sunburn you I laughed I laughed when you're like bring yourself screen and I was like okay whatever Marty and then I left there and I was like I got a burn well you know my Affliction to a coffee of course there's a coffee truck near me at all times so that worked out really well thank you also for showing up and helping us with the event was a lot of fun it's a good tun I loved it you veterans uh lunchbox was the the food truck they were fabulous they're so good they had those seasonal Donuts or whatever that they had I was like Smash Burgers the devil they were so good and uh of course press ahead coffee with the best lattes that uh we have with snowy owl roaster coffee it's just absolutely delicious you had a a couple Dancing with the Stars in front of you while you're playing the tunes on Sunday too I love that she was telling me her whole there's something about a car meet and I've never been a car gal but meeting the people that show up to these car meets are really they're incredible they they love to chat they love all kinds of things they've got a a hearty love for Nostalgia and uh I I loved playing some you know some beach bopping 50s 60s tunes and they were up and dancing I loved it this one car had a a fake car battery it was six tall cans of Bud Bud Light it's powered by Bud Light I'm like oh my goodness always something always awesome hey lady what's going on Mark hey Liz thanks for joining us on a Friday Marty coming in from the cat skills and uh I'm here in the home studio today I had um an incident yesterday ah I know so my my dad was uh doing Grandpa Duty and went to the football game took the boys out to dinner brought them home and was on his way back to Connecticut so we got to the end of 151 where we got a flat tire so you know it's dark it's the middle of the night he's got this huge truck and uh he's he got to pull it off of 151 a little bit so he wasn't like on 151 proper because it was just not in a great area and um he was sitting there and he could not get the spare tire out like physically couldn't do it so he called me I'm like I'm on my way but I'm still in hyas I'm flying I'm doing my best you know obeying the speed limit of course uh but I'm coming in and I don't know if I'm going to be much more helped to you Cliff's going to stop at the house and get his tools we'll be there wow I know so by the time I got there there was a Young Man Demetrius shout out to you Demetrius who had already stopped pulled over helped my dad get the car dislodged well demetrius's mom and dad because he had a late soccer game we're watching him on Life 360 so they showed up because he had been too long on the side of the road and wasn't answering his phone they're like oh my God what if he got in an accident so demetrius's Mom and Dad were over there so I pull up and there's this whole fabulous family helping my dad I'm like wow you guys are really good that's awesome but it was really nice to know that a young man a young teenager saw somebody in distress and pulled over to give their time where you know you always think kids don't have the time for anything or don't pay attention to the world around them and this this kid did just ca he saw somebody in distress so I thought that that was super nice and for the future oh yeah my dad's like she'll give you a shout out her name is and then the mom is like we know who she is you're good oh that's good to hear a good story to end the week too you know oh my God for sure should we talk about the friend that we met on Monday oh my god let's not let's not talk about that Emily for Emily our office girl was in the house and uh my cat has been very naughty since his mom went away to college ah and has been bringing in all kinds of animals and my home we had a live bird the other day great great but Monday it was like this little tiny field mouse so I go walking up the stairs to the office and all of a sudden I just see it like Panic like oh my god well thanksgiving's coming up so you get a tasting menu he's trying to figure out what to provide for for Thanksgiving if you've ever seen three human beings trying to Usher a poor baby field mouse trying to get out of the stairs while my cat's just jumping up and down the stairs like look at this play toy look at this thing not killing it just bringing it in luckily you weren't on air at the time no oh my God Mar no we already had spiders on the air this week where I have to like remove it from somebody's head I'm like I can't take much more I can't so what have we got going on in the world NHL started their season MH and and they've already made history Ivan Ivan plays for the Colorado Avalanche the first time an NHL player with the first and last name are the same did you know that you think that credit card gets approved every time he runs a transaction no fraud it's all good okay buddy sure it's amazing those salaries there everybody's getting PA these players you know what they're getting paid these days also I have no idea I don't even look at any of that stuff anymore you know what it's really kind of sad I woke up you know how Hulu decides to put on the new show if you fall asleep watching TV so I woke up smack daab in the middle of the Aaron Hernandez story they get paid way too much money let me just say that way too much absolutely even some of the folks like the Today's Show I forget the woman that's leaving the show her contract I guess is not being renewed she was making 20 30 million a year I mean I guess I I have looked at the cost of living in New New York City it looks quite exponential but that's outrageous we're in the wrong business 100% Marty we really did we did it wrong we're kind of on TV yeah so to speak good morning Cheryl thank you so much for joining us today uh yeah we're just talking Marty from the greater henus chamber what's going on in chamber news a lot of Halloween themes coming up Halloween is coming up of course too uh we have our annual meeting coming up on Wednesday the 30th of October the day before Halloween and um we're calling it a spectacular success navigating the business haunted house so we we're trying to do some things you know a lot of these chamber events can be can be you know Sam same so we're trying to make something creative and fun and and also celebrate the chambers activities for the past year and and some award presentations to some really deserving people in the Comm in the community that was a lot to say in one breath so anyway you got it done though I did um so it'll be fun I I'm also looking I noticed sandwich is having a paranor paranormal I can't say that word paranormal dinner investigation at the Danny Webster in that should be interesting yeah I Saturday the 19th or the 19 yeah yep I talked to uh Tim Weisberg yesterday on the show he's on wbsm uh out a newford yep familiar with the station yep so I had a good chat with him and he he's he promised a lot of weird witchy happenings so very much well you know for $125 you get a full buffet from the danal Webster um and you get a full evening of like investigations like if you're into that stuff it is a really good deal and kind of a cool evening and what the heck else are you gonna do during scary season that's true oh your cat already beat you to it I'm good I've checked all of those boxes scary season is all set Marty I was involved in a scam situation yesterday and the day before that I had no idea it I I I had a feeling but there were a lot of boxes that were checked so I got reached out to um as I do with a lot of pod um requests because I we do run a podcast company I don't really promote it all that much because we're pretty much sold out we're really busy uh if I could bring on another editor uh I'm trying to grow them right now at the college but if I could bring on another editor we could take on some more work but right now we're pretty full and I had a pod request from a pretty famous pod in New York to connect with another one of our pods and I was really excited about this that's excellent all the boxes were checked their producer lined up I actually know him um I I was you know having this conversation it seemed very real then I get a follow-up email for um scheduling the inter scheduling the this and we're going to do a couple of things but we're just going to jump in your computer and show you a little bit about what we do um for our Logistics and then I was like something about this is not right then it was another followback email with uh yeah so you're just GNA log in we'll do a pre pre-show um sound check and some technical whatever but I need you to give me access to X Y and Z I was like this is a scam you're you're you're a lot like I'm gonna and for furthermore I'm going to be forwarding this to the actual person whose pod this is and I know their producer that you're pretending to be this person and then I got a couple of like that's weird and a couple of choice swear words and that was it so I absolutely was this close to a scam that looked very legitimate so I really I do want to let people know that even if it seems legitimate do a little investigating before you're allowing anybody into your computer before you're allowing anybody to use any of your technology or say it's not a big deal I'll send you a this always check back with links always check back before you're saying yes to things and clicking things I'm also with the cape C Technology Council on the a member and about four or five years ago we had a session uh with the gentleman came in from secure networks and the owner actually and uh we had the Wi-Fi all our phones were connected to Wi-Fi all of a sudden he was doing this this app all of a sudden we're looking up on the screen he had all our phones all our access codes to our banks yep so always secure your phone secure your laptop computer VPN it's amazing what can be done these days I love a good little fishing uh demonstration it's always a little bit scary to know how weak your security is oh my God right shout out to our friends over at capecod Classic Car Club thank you very much for your participation over Commons this weekend other stuff going on so many well we've got Fall Fest I feel like whatever is happening in Yarmouth we mirror that just so like we have it on this end too hey guys like a tug of war of events right it's good though so you don't have to go so far which is nice I mean this time of year I we don't mind taking left turns so it's not a big deal uh and I know that like everybody's doing their cranberry Harvest so we'll have some fresh cranberries which I'm going to go procure today this morning I'm gonna probably hire you for the chamber do some model we don't mind using left taking left turns that's a great ad it is right so I'm going to go and uh get some I'm going to go Harvest some Cranberries for the market Marty if you asked me five years ago Stephanie what would you do be be doing and I told you this she would have been like yeah right that is not me yes but there's 10 other things you do but wait there's more yeah exactly so yeah I'll be harvesting cranberries later today to sell at Market on Sunday for a cranberry infused beverage yes yes possibly yes I have no idea where we're going to be left over there's like another October Fest going on at knockabout so there's there's just a lot of activities which is nice I think this time of the year we Cape cotters love going out and celebrating where we live because it's still nice out it's a little less crowded and it's the locals that you haven't seen from several Towns over that are like I just felt to I wanted to drive to chadam today because I could just look over the past five actually more so Cape Cod beer all the events happen in Cape Cloud beer knockout all these wonderful venues Cape Cloud Winery cap you know Wonderful places ALS so brought some local music really gave more opportunities to have some fun outside too yeah right ex that that's the point enjoy it because I don't know how long it's going to last checking in with all of our Florida friends over the last couple of days and like the damage how's your house how's your house how's your I everyone's having that conversation 75 billion dollar worth of damage they said I've been CH view the chambers down there too just to see if this is something you know um that we can help again we have a lot of FKS are traveling back and forth the airports were closed um so in the next in the week or so once more evaluation of property damage has been done I think we'll get some information posted too right now waiting for the waters to recede you know I've been I'm a weather geek also and watching the storm the day before um boy uh if it hit as a category five we'd be talking a very sad tale but luckily still the damage was extensive but people forget that the two weeks prior to this they had another storm hit them so um it's just been Mother Nature has been very pissy lately I guess yeah she's not been happy about the sou I don't know what's going on but yeah we have friends of ours that relocated from the cape to Florida and they were right there in the track of both of those storms so it's not been the most welcoming of receptions for them to move their life to Florida right now but uh they're handling it but the platform we're on as well as radio is the communication that's still that's still used to make uh you know get the word out what's going on so you know we're hearing the FCC commercials now on the radio for keeping AM radio going don't go to AM radio Stephanie just kidding right no no don't go to am I'm not doing unless I buy my unless I buy one and that's that's not off the table now that we're a nonprofit We uh might be able to secure our own signals so we're exploring other routes 50,000 Watts Stephanie watch out well you know I'm I'm that's what I'm used to Marty I've been accustomed to 50,000 Watts I need it I want it I will find my way back to get it only it'll be on my terms this time mine directional not nondirectional a bad radio term but anyway that's it I know right I love it bad radio jokes all around everybody so what is it that everybody else is up to this weekend I'm just curious our question of the day I just posted this photo of a bunch of different door mats I was like if you're house could talk what would it say not there are mice on the stairs and and a whole farmers market in your front yard that my neighbors are like okay one more week how many more weeks and I had to tell them no we've got the Cape Cod Christmas Market right on its heels so get ready for Santa explosion everywhere so which stations actually I wonder how fast some of these radio stations will with started with all Christmas usually they wait until the day after Thanksgiving but some of them start right up November one so who who knows Nate if you need a podcast editor I absolutely will connect with you Nate because I do have a job for you uh and we're also hiring speaking of which lemon Ado is looking for some Christmas decorators so if you're a retiree you've got a couple of hours to give your mom that's like I love decorating this is definitely a passion project there is pay but it's minimum wage it's not you're not going to be raking in the big bucks but uh if you like doing this want to make a few dollars we're looking for five Crafters uh to to work for the next month and a half on getting our Winter Wonderland together in an in an art studio um with organized projects so if you've got a creative flare I want you you don't want me doing this no I'm terrible at that's why I'm hiring I'm terrible at Marty I'm the world I can't even wrap presents that's why there's duct tape let's keep it all together I put the thing down the gift down and just wrap it all in a ball and his duct tape at once it's very you know fested thank God I married my husband because he's the maker he's the one with the Cricut Machine he's the one crafting he's the one like making all the presents look pretty he's like we can't let that leave the house like that I'm like why throw it in a bag it's fine that's why they're gift bags exactly ribon on it's beautiful no no he is he is Ser he is very very passionate about his rapping boy no see Cheryl says I'm not creative with my hands either it's just not where it's not where my uh my strengths are I'm not a good Artisan in that fashion mine lives here we also I forgot to mention we also have hyenas open streets on Sunday the 20th M yes I absolutely there is something to be said about the open streets being able to bop around with the kids there's so many activities the highest bid is the one that that um puts that together right Marty or are you involved bit's part of it the chamber's part of it but the um there's a there's a group there the greater H Civic greater hyas civic association um handles that also which is a great I don't know how you keep that straight there are so many organizations that we have that do so many cool things and getting everybody together as like wait what that's four T four words in one one one business or nonprofit really got that out exactly will be closed for Halloween too from four to six one of my most favorite photos that I have with all of my kids when they were little was doing the henus uh trick-or-treating just you see it's during the day everybody's all dressed up it's that Twilight evening hour and everybody just gets their candy it's so festive it's so fun everybody's so happy even the parents get dressed up yeah 100% do you get dressed up I love getting dressed up last year I had like four Halloween costumes this year I haven't even thought about it because I haven't had a chance to it's just been an incredibly busy year for us between our nonprofit uh between the farmers market the business my husband's business I filling in on all these committees I now find myself on Marty I can see you an alvir theme so to speak for a costume I don't know I don't know I've got to take a look at it I think I've got a couple that I I'm going to dust off some oldies I brought out the whole we have a costuming closet we have a Halloween I am a big fan of seasonal dress so when this quarter of the year comes out I get so excited I'm like she's out the Wardrobe I love it I know so we've got a lot of tricks up our sleeve and I have not visited one Spirit Halloween Halloween store I have not looked at any of them but apparently uh they are dabbling into the Christmas business now I did not realize that Spencer Gifts was what owns Spirit Halloween and they are test driving some of these Spirit Halloweens to do Spirit Christmas so I was like is this the way we get our Christmas tree back in the roundabout way I don't know we all miss our Christmas tree shop yeah so that's also you know I'm a people Watcher and just watching people buy their tree sometimes I'm like it's a tree just take this one I saw this one couple they were going back and forth for almost an hour I thought this gonna have to call security or something it's like they're fighting over a tree well that's fun that's that says Christmas right holiday that's the spirit of the holidays right there the eggn I think I saw eggn on the shelves already the other superar oh 100% one of my friends Angela posted it the minute it was released look what's back and you know what the date was August 30th August 30th that eggnog hit the Shelf I'm waiting for Valentine's then and Easter candy coming up that'll be coming up after Christmas the day after why do we push the holidays so soon does everybody is that is it the battle for being the first you intimidate me by doing that so just my rock them sck robots watch out Marty Rockham sockum radio because that be a new theme that's it well that was one of our tiebreaker games we play trivia throughout the cape and that is uh we have about 18 different tiebreaker games so if we do have teams I make them fight for the win like you don't just win you have to now battle for it and we've got everything from this game called monkey tail where people wear this blow up monkeyy tail please don't Implement ax throwing thank you I appreciate that we do we have the a throwing God we we decided that we can only bring it out in certain specific spaces because we did bring it to Doo's one time and it happened to be the one time that Dino had put this glass partition wall down and I was like well it was it was a near miss one would think when drinking and then having axe throwing there could be some issues but again it's not easy to throw an axe either so it was strong rubber it's not actual axe throwing shout out to our friends over at House of hatchets Cliff we are coming for you October 18th we are starting karaoke our friend Curtis from lemon Ado is going to be hosting karaoke at House of hatchets every single Friday and it's an early evening karaoke it's like 8 to 10 so it's like you know you get in you sing your few songs you move along it's not going to be like buds country Lounge used to be oh my goodness you w back in yesterday year here absolutely that was the C y spot though oh my God right I've seen some characters there a few times I popped in after an event at the cape Cotter my goodness I was a little bit sad when that went away it was that was another one of those Staples that people just the watering hole you knew was always what you were getting when you walked in the door yes and amazing to people watch 1,000% that is something that you and I both share is the love of watching people just in their element just doing whatever it is that they're going to do um good morning par thank you once again for your son Demetrius saving my dad last night I really do appreciate you Sabrina you go all out her and her husband Mike used to go with these elaborate Halloween costumes I'm talking they would commission the work starting in August they made Hellraiser on stilts one time and every single detail of pin on this on Mike's face was absolutely incredible I've got our friends over at Elis who did the entire Beetle Juice theme in her front yard last year and it was I it blows me away how creative people are and how creative I'm not so be juu is out again I'm always weary of seeing a remake or retry on some of these movies can they ever succeed with the popularity they had years ago I think that it will just because it's got such a cult following have the people that will just watch it love it it was number one I think it's still might even be number one the way they placed this movie release was very timely as uh they knew how to Market this to make stretch it out as long as absolutely human possible to get the most amount of distract some the wonderful election season is also nice we're okay with that that's kind of like watching Beetle juices is it the horor season it's perfect you know it's funny you're getting popup messages there from from viewers I'm getting texts oh it's perfect so believe it or not the northern lights were visible in Edgar toown last night that's amazing amazing well that was the um the views last night I saw a lot of were fouth Mash P that makes sense that they were Edgar toown Vine area facing that whole side of course that happened to be when I was in so I didn't get to see them I have seen them already so I don't need to be greedy you guys can all share in and see them I've gotten to see them when I was in Iceland I got to see them um actually when I was flying over Utah um and it our whole plane was in engulfed in green so that was just really really cool to literally be in the northern lights so I can't be greedy Marty I can't have it all the time yes Mother Nature yes I understand uh we saw the northern and Brewster incredible so I have this app so it popped up on Monday and I made my husband get in the car with me it's like 10 p.m. and I'm like driving around I'm like just drive around somebody saw it in Yarmouth I know we can see it and he happily lovingly blindly driving around the cape in the darkest places driving me Driving Miss Daisy looking for her Northern Lights I Miss Daisy that's so I I the picture you posted this morning also other people have posted but they missed the northern lights but taking a picture and adding like a mic a marker highlight that's it it's a good trend for that that's it that's what we're doing I didn't get to see it but I want to be included Marty that's the point I want to be included everybody else got to see it not me so I have to mention also for our annual dinner you'll be there also as a DJ I know I'm looking Halloween Tunes yeah that'll be fun so what's the most popular Halloween song request you get oh it's always through Koke it's it's always Thriller um and then it's Rockwell and then the Monster Mash everybody knows the Monster Mash Boris is uh he's he's Timeless the one hit wonder Boris so yeah th those are the top three I would think but I love Season of the Witch I'll do Donovan like I'll I'll get up there and sing it you'll be going Facebook live when that happens oh I don't know if anybody I don't know if everybody needs that Marty you could do the dawn of Summer dim all the lights and just start from there segue into the song If You' like we know that's really scary that that truly is a horror film right there no that'll be a first for me uh dejing in costume a uh annual meeting what's your uniform gonna be what are you dressing up as I don't know I have I've got to I got to put my thinking cap on especially uh if my husband's going to be my roie so I like to usually incorporate him into something we'll we'll dress him up he'll be my mummy your mommy I love it what are you gonna go as this year I don't know right Cindy says she's gonna dress Jared up and Renaissance clothing I absolutely want to see that we are still going strong with the King Richards Fair until the end of the month and I've got friends don't you love it when you know and I've said to everybody hey do you want tickets because I have extra tickets gave all away the tickets hey do you still have tickets no I gave those away two months ago I don't have like free flowing tickets for you all the time I asked you didn't answer I'm not sitting there holding on them like a clutch it's not I'm not an egg layer I can't produce for you that's quite a venue too how how that works out every year the prepping and the actors that perform there just the talent that's involved and the uniforms to stay in character that long I just would not be able to do that I'd do it one time with a a bad accent and then I would move on with my day I I'd be Stephanie you're fired where would you go to event with a woman having a large cleavage ordering a turkey eating a turkey I had I had to judge that one year they made me judge the king's cleavage contest and I had to sit there while they bounced on trampolines and and then like rile up the crowd I was like how did I get this gig why am I here right now why someone have motion sickness it's just one of those things right really when I first Ed that maybe 20 years ago I wasn't really sure what I was getting into and then first few minutes this guy is insulting me I'm like what am I paying for right I paid $60 to get yelled at I guess I'll get in the line to spend another $20 on a giant yard of beer and then I won't feel your insults as much turkey legs I can throw the throw them I guess too but why do the turkey legs taste like ham can somebody answer this to me maybe they are I'm like I this is a weird ham taste in Turkey Leg I don't know why they taste like that have a smoke shoulder you'll never know the difference right is that what it is just because it's smoked I'm put bone in there and put pretend it's turkey like right I don't know what it is but it's scary and it's got those like tendrils in it I oh I I like the the thought of it it like looks cool visually but then when you're in it you're like I I don't want this can sir can I hold your turkey leg for a photo thank you years ago and I was dating I dated a girl from Buu and afterwards when the Clubs closed it like 2:30 in the morning there was this one bar and this girl is ordering a turkey leg like this is classy no they in Ireland they call it the chipper that's what should be outside you get fried fish and chips and get on with your night take your French fries and go home I've never seen a turkey leg outside of the bar I also grew up in adabor so um we the Providence food trucks were most mostly tacos and pizza not not turkey legs turkey legs great here's this girl I've been courting for several hours and she has a turkey leg I'm like you know I thought I feel like she was a keeper I think you missed out Marty could have been a weapon too you never know she could have been the one Marty Mar got beat up by room with a turkey leg great I'd pay money for that let's see it Rumble jousting or basting whichever works right I love it how are we already halfway through October I'll never know before you know it we're going to be talking about Thanksgiving and uh I I'm just not ready for for all of the the people time of year I get a little bit of a break I've got like one month to plan um a a lot of stuff going on I feel like that's a the chamber does a really good job of making sure they're involved in all of the activities and I don't know how you do it and not to mention the fact that you run your own chamber but you always collaborate with other Chambers absolutely we all help each other um we meet every two weeks a local Cape Chambers collaborative we call ourselves um and uh we basically share War Stories and help each other out different suggestions everyone has different levels of experience in this in this gig so any way we can help and you know make things work better for us you guys but there's so many events too so it's great you know we have tourists coming all the time from different parts of the country in the world in the summertime particularly so um you know while my job is TR Barnstable in the seven Villages there's so much going on around the cape too so you're about to take a vacation yes Aruba actually we'll be broadcasting live we'll do we're doing a show from Aruba I believe everything works out the Wi-Fi Gods work out I think the real reason why Marty wants to do this so badly is because he wants to taunt me with the beautiful beach that he is at and I am not well I showed you already the background where I'll be sitting for this uh broadcast so well I think it'll be a little bit different than the cat skills right now yes a little warmer I feel so my heart goes out to people that have dumped their life savings into a Disney trip into a place right now where Disney World and Other Orlando area theme parks remain closed they may reopen today I don't think that they're like really trying to push that to be open but also like if you've spent this money you've made this plan three years ago with your kids and here you are like this is this is the week you picked it really stinks I I feel bad for you it's it it's not fun some the chamber talk because we have a Blog we communicate director executive directors also there's several from who went from New England to go to Aruba were having a a stop a stop in in Orlando or Tampa those airports closed that trip is uh delayed substantially too even if they can make it the worst I'm thinking of you at least you know everybody's safe hopefully um oh I was saddened yesterday for Ethel yeah lived a good life though 90 96 I believe yeah yeah I I don't I don't see that in the forecast for me Marty I see 196 for you well if I keep replacing body parts I'll be in good shape I'll be brand new by the time I hit 70 so it'll be good you got 40 years for that so it's all good I got plenty at time right yep y AEL lived a good life and uh you got to see her out she was very very deeply involved in our community and did so many wonderful things even I 85 years old I saw her out there one time like helping out the tent for best buddies and I'm like what are you doing she was she was really really an amazing human being so we definitely feel the loss of that it's like a piece of History you know 100y old history very much and our office is located inside the JFK Museum our administrative office and just you know uh once the the word got out uh there's a condolence book that was put out people were actually very upset and crying few yeah I mean it is it is historic um and I forgot that you were over there yes I'm hiding but our Visitor Center closes this weekend unfortunately which tells me that that summer is officially ending right yeah how does that route 6 also with the Yarmouth dentist the real Chamber of Commerce with the cape cot Chamber of Commerce they share the visitors center on six that's closing this weekend too so this is kind of really our official goodbye to the summer I know everybody's already back in school and all of those things and then fall happens but this is really the Cape Cod official end of our summer so next time we do this show we'll prep with The Final Countdown theme song music bed this right now that's gonna be stuck in my head all week long damn it Marty it beats the hands comment but that's beside the point all I can think of is Kristen wig with the baby hands if you looked at the Drudge Report this morning the headline with Trump former president Trump excuse me um with his hands um just some of the images that are are caught and posted by for both parties or both or celebrities or whatever they get caught showing our best selves to the world right now I will just say that as we've got tourists that are visiting us it's happening in town we want to know about it it's just a great way to circulate some some new stuff you know what I mean I feel like when you consume the same media when you read the same paper when you have your same schedule you kind of get this routine going on and it's nice to shake that up with some new lifeblood and see what else is there around um I had a moment with a girlfriend last night I was leaving hus yach club and uh Tori one of our she's the one who opens up our our owner our um opening here at lemon Ado and we had a pod um the first shot Morning Show which is taking a rest because she's started her life you know she's busy she's got a dog she's got a boyfriend she's got a full-time job uh and hasn't been able to check in as much in the front of the house she helps us out in the back of the house but we were just talking she's like where's a fun place to go that we haven't been in a while and then I drove by the corner of the radio station that I used to work at and there's some pizza joint and it was hopping yep there there are tons of people in there and I'm like look see it's somewhere new so I like seeing somewhere new where people are visiting and celebrating and it looked they did a really nice renovation over there on the corner of um I forget what street it's on uh but barille Road in the corner of something else and uh I just drove by there last night and I was like it looks really cool in there sports barish Pizza Google Maps it's on Barns Road and the someone something else road I don't know it's so awful I forget what it is I worked there for 25 years so question for you the events on Cape Cod can any any um profit or nonprofit that that's Happ in the event post on the page anybody anybody absolutely take advantage of space because people are just sharing things that are happening whether it I don't even care if it's some people posted big yard sales I'm like well I I guess it's technically an event I I asked this because someone just sent me a message that in harage Port there's gonna be a pirate festival going on this weekend I believe awesome I love weird like bring it on something cool something different and maybe I have a moment to go check it out I absolutely will I know our friends over at Old places Lauren has been organizing a lot of um Halloween fun activities for people of all ages and uh they do a great job of having activities over at Old places in Buzzard's Bay and uh we're actually going to be meeting with Marie Oliva next week to go over some of the things that they've got at the the canal region and uh I I mean honestly we've got some really cool people doing amazing things the Thriller flash mob next weekend that should be interesting too a lot of fun with that um Marie's got an amazing chamber also an amazing energy she's uh someone I look up to Spitfire she is a busy bee yeah um wonderful area too that Canal day worked out really well even though it was a delay because of the the weather a couple weeks ago so yes Ridgewood have no it's not Ridgewood AV but yes it is on the corner of Ridgewood AV why can't I remember that road you'll log on emergency broadcast in about
