hello and good morning good morning good morning what's going on everybody can you hear pull that thing right up to your face we're here we're here for the morning we're gonna be morning people even though that might be a struggle sometimes you were nice and early though I found that really you know refreshing for a college student hey I gotta be on top of my stuff that's how I that's how you got to play the game you know we are continuing our College week here at 1180 118 thanks for listening to us watching us on our live stream here uh from whatever platform you're finding us on this morning we appreciate you I've got Nate Skinner and he is a fourseas student um studying media media studies and Communications oh yeah it's a lot of fun at the school like doing the radio production class like the first day I was like all right what do we got in store and the more you do it the more fun you have and the more until like you're like I want to do this again like I do two shows on Tuesday for wkko yeah I do one from 8 to 10 on Tuesdays like in the morning and then one at 700 pm at night and I feel like that gave me a lot of reps to be like all right don't do this do that but sometimes like I get to like a point where I'm re-recording something because I'm like I don't like how that sounded but I've gotten better with just we're just going to do this natural like if it don't sound right like that's okay like like I've I started to listen to radio and be like you know what they mess up sometimes or they just like oh excuse me but that's natural in life when you're having a conversation with someone it's totally okay to be like oh oh no I or start the joke over or start the story over it's not unnatural to be fluid like that you know what I mean yeah I mean I guess that's why like when you're in radio at the beginning you're kind of like got to be this this this this and this to build an audience but I've started to just be like I'm just going to be myself and like if I mess up like that's okay at the end of the day do you know how many radio people it's taken that long to figure that you're good like I guess in the beginning you wanted to sound very great and be like oh yeah that's me but then as you go on you're like I'm okay like I I might have messed up the pronounce pronunciation of that word but I'm like it's cool yeah exactly good morning Kelly hey Ed thanks for joining us this morning we've got Nate Skinner on the show who's a student so he's got media studies Communications he's wearing a Steelers jersey and normally we would not allow that but given the parameters of this football season I accept it hey the Patriots and the Steelers play tonight and I I quite frankly I don't know like what to expect in that game I don't know if we're gonna get like a a six to three game where teams just a couple field goals called T night and the rest is like I don't know if I'm watching like NF football or high school football because like you got to think Tom Brady at one point said the NFL has come become a little bit average and you kind of watch the game sometimes you're like I could see what he's saying no that's just the Patriots well then you got the Carolina Panthers on the other hand who traded their first round pick and now don't have a first round pick this year to build their future so they're they're screwed yeah yeah it could be worse you guys could be one in 11 we are such a big big football household and this season we were it was lackluster I would have I watched my son play this was his first year of playing high school ball and I I got to as much as I could given my schedule uh but I'm looking forward to him now rolling into basketball season because I'm like I just I cannot wrap my brain around football this season it's just been so bad for us High School football can be fun I I I played my senior year yeah but um I was in Bandon high school so I got to play at the games and you're watching like high school football and you can easily pick out like this guy's the best this guy is okay and like you can pick out the the great versus like the yeah all right he's in high school he's just playing to like extracurricular activity which is fine clearly that's your focus is is sports and uh we're gonna talk a little bit about sports today I found myself flexing my uh my sports research this morning as we're here broadcasting from the musinex Christmas tree has dispenser radio Bowl well I I think it's funny in college football you look at some of these bowl game names it's like I never would have thought of that sponsor you got like Idaho it's called The Potato Bowl I think and you're like oh oh the list of bowl games is fabulous good morning Lisa good morning Susan that's pretty much what most people look for right I mean it reminds me of Talladega Nights I've seen them right so Talladega Nights where they've got 9 million sponsors it's just like everything is sponsored we'll just wear the logo let's get it done uh so the bowl games start next week and the first one is the Myrtle Beach Bowl then you know that seems totally normal then we've got some other great crazy sponsors Cricut Wireless avocados um but then you get into some like Rando roofclaim.com boa rone Bowl never heard of that yeah the famous Idaho Potato Bowl at least that sounds fun that sounds delicious it sounds like something I could snack on and then watch a game B the baked potato bowl but the easy pot Hawaii Bowl I mean the and they get worse there's Duke's Mayo Bowl the bad boy mower's Pinstripe Bowl these are so Random what about the Pop-Tarts spol yep there's that bar STS Arizona Bowl chees it Citrus B that sounds gross it does it sounds like they're trying to push out a new sponsor a new brand thing like once again it's tallad nights it's bull season baby and you know most of the sports fanatics in your life are going to be taking to the couch and not making any weekend plans because that is their weekend plan so from December 16th to January 8th plan on people not leaving their homes but have you been to the Pez factory in Connecticut no I'm driven by it in a Million in five times it's right on the side of the highway there's a huge rest stop for it in Connecticut really and I want to go but it's always like in the middle of the night or way too early in the morning when I'm driving that piece of real estate and I never get a chance to stop at the Pez factory I don't think I've been there before but that sounds like a cool right like a little yeah exactly field trip but I I just think with uh the funny thing about bull season is you're going to at least wonder when people are sitting on the couch hey I haven't heard from this person in a while I should give him a call they might have the phone on do not disturb yeah probably hey I'm trying to watch this team I've never heard of against this team well unless you're Florida and then you're just bitter oh yeah because you know Florida state did get like they're like oh we should talk to me about the snub you're the sports guy I I think when you look at the college football playoff committee like they have criteria they gota they got to go through like strant the schedule is a big thing like granted the ACC this year which so this was a team that was 13-0 right yeah they were 13-0 I think we start from the top they were 13 and0 they were the best one they were supposed to get the best Bowl yeah they they did they were a power five championship team in the ACC I don't know what that means so like um most most of every conference you have the SEC they have their championship game like each conference has their championship game and like ACC SEC they're they're called like power five championships the best so the best of the best in the conference in the area in which they're in gotcha so but looking at everything they had their star quarterback Jordan Travis go down he broke his leg at some point in the season and one of the committee criteria is how are you coaches not being there like you got Michigan with Jim Harbaugh but that didn't really affect them you have um other team teams like lose players throughout the season just due to injury because football is a pretty physical game you know y over time it can take a toll on your body once you hit the NFL if you go there but oh we've got a Floridian checking in what's the land of the the layout there with this Florida snub yeah I'm curious to I know a lot of people are like the Florida state should sue the college football committee because they didn't make it it on fire we didn't get what we wanted and no that's Boston sorry and we did see something where the Georgia Florida State game they might like there was rumors that well they skipped their press conference because I uh probably what they're saying is take off your tinfoil hats literal quote from one of the Sports reporters in that area but they have a built-in press conference already with that Orange Bowl so they were like we're going to talk to the people at any rate so it's just a hectic season every excuse known to man other than the fact that they did in fact cancel a press conference they don't want to talk about it right now I get it when you it's like when you injure yourself are you gonna keep poking at it or just put a Band-Aid on it we're gonna move on with our day leave it alone I I just think with the Florida state thing yeah it sucks those kids had a 13-0 season in that yeah that's what me they're and now they're not playing for a college football champion yeah this could be their last game good morning Dave hegner thanks for joining us I think without Alabama they made their case pretty clear they they went 4- one in top 25 play which is 25 best teams in the country ranked from one to 25 and they beat number one Georgia who was the number one team in the country so like what are you gonna say about that you're kind of like oh they've they've had three other great wins they lost to Texas early in the year who was ahead of them at number three but I think Alabama made their case once they beat number one Georgia for the SC Championship like I'm doing my very best I have no idea the words that he is speaking to me and I'm definitely out of my depth but I am trying to follow it because we are going to be hit over the head college realm of life and you're a sports person the NCAA came out on Tuesday and proposed uh president um Baker decided that he said we should be paying these college athletes what do you think about that I I think it's a great idea because if if players are going to be with companies and doing stuff you might as well pay them to be at your school to play athletics because if they're getting recruited to your school like you should be like here we're GNA pay you and help I think that money for the students could be helped towards do you think it'll help them focus more on school and less on other things good morning Mark thanks for joining us yeah I think I think so because you have a select amount of athletes on scholarship but for some of these students they're not on scholarship they're playing and they're using like financial aid this yeah so I think that you play when you're in school I mean I'm I'm learning very very quickly that uh the scholarships are not all scholarships they're not all one siiz fits-all and they're not exactly what they say they are yeah that's why I think if could if you could pay your college athletes I think they could focus more on school because they're like oh I got money to pay towards classes towards BS towards stuff like that so I think for them you can help alleviate a little bit of the pressure because um as you get later into a school semester sometimes things can get hectic and like stressful yeah like even right now like for me there's a little bit of times where I'm like oh I got three assignments and like oh I got exams coming up and you're a hardworking kid too and I I kid you Loosely you're a grownup however I'm you you work hard yeah I I between school going to work after school some days like and then getting home and doing homework or where is it that you work Nate I go to I I work at cap and Island Kia that's where she sponsors y it's like my friends your dad is Matt he is an amazing Finance whiz so if you're in the the market for a new vehicle definitely go and talk to Nate's Dad yeah shout out pops real I know well he's just a really caring human being and really wants it to be able to work free which I really like because usually when you're in the the space where you need something new and you have to make a giant purchase like that you're stressed out yeah because you're you're not just putting you know two bucks down on something put like something you're gonna have to live with for at least five years yeah I mean I not everyone but I have my car right now and I think this is like my second year maybe and I'm it's just you're committed to it you're not you're not going to be like yeah I'm put two bucks down I got a car like no you're probably putting down like 5,000 10,000 however much I don't know how much people are putting and your dad deals with stressful situations so I I really he's a really really nice guy and I definitely suggest talking to him he's a wizard when it comes to numbers and figuring things out for you he'll get it done I think his greatest strength really is bringing the best out of everyone at his job like he wants you to like he's not going to be like oh whatever like this guy like he's like I'm going to bring the best out of you because I want to see you succeed and I think that's when you have a boss like that at any job you're gonna be like I want to work for this guy because not only does my dad work really hard a dad yeah he he works really hard he's probably one of the hardest working men I've seen and like he he puts in the effort and not just as a dad but as an employee too and I I think that's that's great like he's a great guy to be around and you know you'll want to buy a car from him and be like this isn't just me buying a car it can be a relationship like um like hey you're B you're coming in and buying another car it's good to see you type thing yeah definitely Lindsay said in case no one told you already today you are awesome hey I appreciate than Lindsay we love you so you're a hardworking student you love sports you're uh really in this realm right now so you can speak to why we should be paying college athletes what the complaint about it is that it's going to let bigger colleges break away from the smaller ones and and kind of do their own thing yeah I mean I that is the one downside of everything because big money schools are gonna Branch off and it's gonna H it's gonna happen well you got to think about the budget like I'm going to use this for example not that it's really a fair comparison but it's like Cape Cod Community College if they had Sports trying to pay their athletes and you know a school like Alabama which is pretty popular for sports is like ah we'll pay you like I don't know 20,000 for example yeah Cape C Community College can't go to a student be like we can pay 11 cents and we will make sure you get an extra helping at lunch that's that's snacks for everyone here's your boxing gushers we promised you good morning Patricia I hope to see you later out at trip you know what there is something I dislike during trivia is sports trivia I am so bad at it because I feel like you can make a sports trivia question out of thin air out of the most ridiculous stat you have ever made up in your entire life like today when you and I were going over the stack of stuff that comes in every single morning yeah and there was one dumb fun fact in there that it was like um this day and history in 1973 uh the banana eating record was Set uh the first time somebody ate 17 bananas in two minutes that's an actual fact by the way just in case you want to double check me on that one that's a real fact so you can make a stat like that about any sort of sports thing and they'll do it during the game when they're announcing yeah I've seen some pretty random stats or like things they bring up and I'm like what does that have to be mention any quarterback right now like NFL or yes any any I think it's like you have someone like Patrick Mahomes Patrick Mahomes is throwing for his 63rd blah blah blah blah he's only been 75 times he's done this thing like it's the most stupid stats that I it's nonsense it's filling the airwaves with nonsensical facts you really got to think about like those stat staticians that like do all this I feel like sometimes they might be writing something they're like this is ridiculous but you're like hey it's for the content so that's right so what are we going to do you can always say second or third or fourth best like who's going to take the time to check on that actual fact so that's I just it drives me crazy and I hate sports trivia also sorry Patricia so I try not to do it and when I do it's kind of like yeah actual facts yeah or like team based facts not statistic facts I think the crazy thing is like who decides to eat 17 bananas like I can't even like not Let It Go like like I can barely eat one sometimes because like I'm not like the biggest person on like the flavor of a banana but eating 17 of those good morning Heidi thanks for joining us yeah that's gonna be insane like totally fine with oh yeah with her being in the NFL I'm pretty fine with it I think it's kind of funny like um I go on social media they'll poster like I'm like I think it's pretty cool you got a big name celebrity pause how old are you 20 what social medias do you use so I use Instagram not not as much but I'll use Twitter a lot because that's where a lot of like the sports that's like facts and that's kind of like rolling dialogue of what's Happening yeah a lot of reporters are on there usually informational yeah and then I started using LinkedIn because I want to connect with people get like you know stuff like that that's your professional side of Nate good job yeah and I occasionally I have a Facebook right so insta X and then um LinkedIn yeah I I I think LinkedIn is something I want to keep keep up with because I'd really like to connect with a lot of people have stuff in my bags and like be like oh maybe I'm starting a podcast let me try to connect with this person see if they want to join the show yeah definitely it's it's quite vital if I say so because if I feel like LinkedIn it's kind of overlooked sometimes because they're like who wants to connect like blah blah blah like just thinking of how like everything is through online these days I think LinkedIn if you can have not just in Massachusetts for example but you can have somebody in I don't know Tennessee for example and you can get them onto your show like yeah that's important to build a a a wide connections because I thought you were gonna say a web and I was really gonna like that because I just had so much Deadpool stuff going on in the back of my brain I could think of the word at the moment so I just used the word that came to my mind Mark is asking where your accent is from probably New England it's a varing degree of of New England but it's definitely a Rhode Island yes I I am from Rhode Island I I'm from a small town of North Smithfield Rhode Island it's right I love nor Smithfield You' been there I have where where have you visited there um what is it um what's the the place right's chicken right oh right's Dairy form and all that stuff rights chicken form all that that stuff's good I that is really good I had uh some sports Banquets there back in the day like Blackstone Valley oh yeah all that good stuff that's it so like I went to that that uh the elementary school there the middle school the high school I didn't move down to the cape till like maybe I think a year year and a half now it's almost well welcome I I like it down here a lot there's a lot of nice people I mean you gotta it's who you meet but I have not had a bad interaction so far where I'm like why am I here type deal because you could easily move to a new place and then you have those couple interactions you're like I feel like cap cot is super welcoming I mean it's now 20 years since I met my toy husband and have't left so 25 years older than you years that I lived here still a washer Shore it's fine but um it is one of the most welcoming wonderful places that you'll you'll ever find because everybody is just really mostly kind except when you get on the town pages I was just curious when I was asking you about your social media just because I was Cur Facebook is for old people now it's just one of those things I always try engage to see where what the kids are doing curious I keep I keep Facebook because I have a lot of you're not Tik tocking you're not doing any dances or consuming that I I mean I did before but I I I cut that off a while ago I'm like this is just a cycle where I'm going to just keep getting sucked in it's like the conversation you had yesterday where you're gonna get you're just gonna start scrolling scrolling scrolling and then eventually you're gonna be like oh I've been on that thing for like 30 minutes it's a black hole it's an abyss you just get sucked in it's quick sand you're never getting out this is where I live now yeah you're not getting out of that if you you lost the day yeah you'll be looking up you'll be like oh I was supposed to do this at o'clock it's 1:30 I got I gotta go do the dishes now for me I find that I'll go to look at something or look up something and then that's it I'm here I am absolutely here I think sometimes with me you ever I I have this happen to me sometimes you go to look up something and then you're on the internet you're like what was I looking up again then you scroll out again then you think about it like an hour later and you're like it's designed that way it's Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift when there were rumors and like you have someone like ion Eagle who's on CBS and he was like and Travis Kelce finds a blank space and you're like oh they got some references in here now like not just like oh it's just Taylor Swift but like they reference her songs and they they creatively find ways to put it in there I'm like oh yeah I wouldn't think of putting that in there but hey that works they've got they've got something else in their Sports chatter narrative to talk about James says I'm in Pittsburg tell Nate hurry up I've got two extra tickets to the when they're changing the schedule of the NFL because no one wants to see us that's bad and at least we don't have to wait all the way to Sunday to see us lose so there we go hey you can wake up Friday do a show and be like I don't remember what happened last night that's it we're on the last show of the week that's it I do know it's Larry Bird's birthday Larry Bird is 67 years old what a Legend Larry Bird was like this man would talk trash to you and be like I'm gonna drop like for example there was there was one time this man on Christmas was just destroying the Indiana Pacers I believe and he looks at the bench he goes merry effing Christmas like like a imagine just like you're just that confident that you can look at a bench and just be like yeah I just did that like right or like for example he dropped like 40 something points with his left hand which wasn't his dominant hand and he told somebody before the game and how do you not stop that like he told you I'm gonna score this whole game with my left hand I need you to stop me what I appreciate though is the fact that he could talk all of that trash then back it up wearing the tiniest shorts ever seen in my entire life something about a man with tiny shorts doesn't command a presence for me uh and he did so kudos to you in the 7s thank you think about how much like NBA attires change from like all atre yeah like to now like you had an era where baggy shorts and I don't mean like you know just a little baggy like I mean baggy Y and like that was a style for a while now it's just not the style I guess fashion runs Sports too and I'm not like the most fashioned person but I've seen some crazy outfits where I'm like whoever your stylist is or if you did that like I don't know how you thought that was style but congrats to you for putting that together football and fashion has always kind of gone together basketball ballers in general and fashion um big jewelry uh I was told by my child yesterday that he needs a suit a suit I was like what do you need a suit for because when we have away games we have to show up in a suit like you're your freshman at high school so apparently we're starting this young I was like you got a suit jacket from when we were in London a couple years ago like like no Mom I need a suit I need a t dad's gonna give me a falcon tie I'm like okay he's gonna have a suit with a falcon tie I'm I'm here for it that sounds fashionable though right I think it's it's incredible so thank you travar and everybody over at mashby high school for running the boys right but now now mama's going to find him a suit and it can't be a sloppy suit he needs to at least look cute right and he grows in his sleep so I don't know how long this suit's Gonna Last it's gonna be like two weeks and be like Mom I need another suit I know so if anybody knows a good tailor that I can go to um that we're going to hit the thrift shops yeah exactly and tailor it up to fit the boy because he once again grows like the Hulk I feel like even overnight I was like pushing out of his sneakers he's a monster I I think what's cool about sports and I'm a big music person like I don't just listen to like some of today's stuff I'll listen to a lot of old music but it's cool to see like the NBA and Hip-Hop how that is mashed so well from like when hip-hop started late 80s into the 90s 50s 50 Years of Hip Hop it's celebrating its anniversary this year it's cool like you there's so many great musicians and rap I mean not not today like I listen to some of today's stuff it's it's like a copy paste change this up a little bit but you gotta think like and you're not wrong it's not because I'm I'm very I'm somebody who listens to a lot of music so I can pick up when I'm like sounds similar to this and I think the thing with sampling you remember Prince back in the day when he was like sampling is gonna not you were a good throwback th AE human to be up there oh yeah I got I got prints in the back of my mind I've listened to some prints before I like prints we love prints he's amazing because you got um stuff like that he said like sampling nowadays it's just going to turn into sampling of the sample of the sample like yes like you might hear sample and then you're like oh that's cool like they took this song but then like maybe four months later you might hear that sample again used somewhere else and then you're kind of like it's not as cool I heard it you just changed the key it's in Chang this change that a little how are you dealing with um the alternative fair being on wkk you know at first it was interesting because I haven't heard a lot of those song before so like sometimes I hear a song and I'm like that's interesting or like I haven't heard this before well I've heard Love Shack before even before it was on that that can be rested that is our question of the day which I put question of the day most days on social media and that is what is one song that you can hear over and over again and never be sick of and that was one of the songs no that was definitely not one of the songs that's the one that um needs to be rested for life that one in the Pina Cola Song can be rested for life I've heard it the maximum number of times I'm thinking of song that songs that you can hear like Rocking around the Christmas tree I could probably hear that forever and not be bothered by it well I think with tiny dancer I could hear that a million and five times CHR music is uh something you can't really get sick of like like I disagree because like um it's it's not as common it's not like I don't listen to it all year like when it comes around like you know Thanksgiving in December it's cool you know it's festive sure like we're we ourself off of it but if I never have to hear All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey again I would be okay with that I would accept that is my fate oh I can't hear it again not a problem I'm good I don't think I'm ever going to Pine for it again uh there was a news story about Mariah today where she was talking about not knowing what a white elephant is and she was like oh can you tell me more about that I I would be okay she was not always that famous you've never heard of a gift swap before like really gift swaps are fun right you were all you want to see the person who the gift was taken from that they thought that they were going to get it and be given the dummy gift or the toilet bowl cleaner and to watch the look of rejection and defeat on their face when it gets taken away from them that's the best part about those giftgiving scenarios I think it's funny when you get something like that's like really nice and then you're like oh hopefully I can hold up and then like near the end of the swap they take it from you and you're just like yes that's the best part I'm going to go fight you for that catch me out side real quick I want that back and it's never more than $20 and it's always a silly thing but it's just the look of just defeat you thought you were the best and now you're the worst I have uh our lemonade o company Christmas parties coming up on Sunday and uh we're gonna be wrapping up some some fun little gag gifts for everybody so I'm looking forward to seeing just um the the look of confusion rejection uhhuh weirdness everybody's G to get something good so I'm not worried about that I just think it'll be funny to see what silly prizes or maybe something good is it good or bad it's kind of like those jelly beans that you get those disgusting things I haven't done those I stay away from something like that because I see some of the flavors that are like the bad ones I'm like I ain't letting that touch my taste buds at all because then it's gonna be messed up all day like the Harry Potter ones that are like gross things that you should not be ingesting yeah like your body's trying to expel like there's ones that like vomit flavor I'm like that's what I was trying to say without say it I was like I'm like who just decides like hey that's a good weird Jelly Bean flavor to mess with people like no I don't want that that was the whole game is it good or bad you're supposed to decide yeah but it's so hard because you're looking at the picture you're like these look too similar and then you're just kind of like oh we're just gonna go for it and if it's bad then I not a game I want to jump into I'm too old for that too old for it new holid tradition with that people are just gonna start crazy We're not gonna do it see Lauren smart man stinky socks yum so gross yeah some of the some of the flavors are just like who thought of that on a whim yeah can you think of any songs but going back to your songs that you is there a song that you could hear forever that you would never be sick of you know I Feel Like Anything by Biggie is a classic I could hear it probably forever and still not be upset by it I think there's one song like I I really like it's uh I could hear over and over is Dear Mama by Tupac I just really love that song I was never a Tupac fan don't come for me I I just like that song because like he showed sorry he he showed like appreciation for his mom and saying like thank you for like all the sacrifices you made like I know it wasn't easy kind of like up in our situation but like the fact you sacrificed and like did this for me I love your age bracket that actually listens to lyrics I do a podcast with a former KKL student and Tori absolutely listens to all of the lyrics and dissects them it's a Taylor Swift phenomenon also I just taking apart and listening to it piece by piece and how relatable it is or maybe that's just a youth thing I feel like when we get old and jaded we don't have time for that anymore I'm I'm sad I would like to go back to those times where I related to music like that and sat there and really went back in the intricacies but then again we've got people like um what's paint the town red there DOA it's not real it's not real deep there I don't know she says she's got her intentions like right out there she ain't like I'm gonna discreetly say it like no we going right see Lauren said Tupac knew what was up his lyrics just need to be shared again there you go hey I mean I think when Tupac got to death R there were times where I was like all right like I'm not the strongest on the lyrics but there are some things in his older songs where you're like all right like I can he got to where he got you know before his tragic ending yeah I I I think um there was a new documentary about him that just came out too yeah it's called Uh Dear Mama yep I I just think like as much people I I think shift in the conversation to like you you listen to lyrics that talk about your parents I think it's good to show your parents appreciation because like you got to think of how many sacrifices they made for you can do you give Ted Talks to my children go right on upstairs you go talk to those kids before they go no they're gone hopefully if they made the bus like there's just so many sacrifices like parents make for their kids to get in a good good position like you as a mom I'm sure you've had times where you're like long nights and you're like man I'm going to do what's best for my kids and that's like really respectful and like I I I I really got a shout out this should there should be a thing where you can return your birthday you just show up to the hospital hey I know I was born this day but I don't like like uh change it yeah can we just move it to a a better date yes please I think growing up when you have a winter birthday absolutely sucks because you can't do nothing like oh we could do something at a bowling alley I've done that like three times like it's it's cool it's fun but you're like done it but then you got your friends who have like maybe a summer birthday and they have all these cool parties and you're like damn y oh see Mark says I was always given a birthday Christmas present my cheap relatives and Denise wants to know if you're adoptable because she would like to adopt you unfortunately not uh see you're making friends with other moms and dads out there super cute hey cam what's going on on where in the world is Cam today he's our resident flight assistant always jet setting to some cool places and I'm super jealous I have flight Envy Big Time hey that sounds like a lot of fun if you can just have a jet and be like yeah right someday someday in our sports ball and World sipping on a mimosa or something like chilling not a damn about the I had that conversation with my son yesterday about how he's going to be a student athlete and make millions how many millions are going to pay me I'm like aren't you going to pay me I'm your mom I'm the one who supported you he's like you know I'll buy you a house was like thanks bud somebody's got a Monday birthday over there oh yay well it's it's okay if it's a Monday birthday before Christmas I saw the meme yesterday that basically said do not give us a joint birthday and Christmas present sincerely Sagittarius well it's also Capricorn just so you know it's both of us and we both get a stinky lot this time of year we spend an entire month complaining about my birthday then it happens and then no one cares either and usually my husband gets violently ill during my birthday week really oh yeah never fails all my big ones TW 20s 30s 40s violently ill can't make it we've got plans and he can't make the big plan whatever the party is so there was one year where it was a big O birthday and I was celebrating we were supposed to go to New York on my girlfriends get on the train and I end up sharing a bed with my girlfriend who has a cpat machine and I love you dearly and you know that it doesn't bother me however it was my birthday and it was supposed to be a fun exchange poor thing got sick while we were there walking so I just ended up walking around I had to bring her menus in bed this is how I she celebrated my birthday menus in bed in the hotel room it was brutal new New York uh if you go to Time Square I went there for a band trip one year for Time Squares like see that's an okay thing to do in December yeah it's like just cool like atmosphere you know like you're you're there's a lot of stores because they want your money in Time Square because you know what else are you gonna do with that money right but um I I really enjoyed it especially at night time when everything starts to light up you're like this is great yeah fun lights good sounds good food and always something to do yeah I mean they want want your money so they're going to make sure to put a lot of good things to do around just the people watching I'm a fan of people watching in general you have to be you're a sports guy right I love people watch the fans in the stands yeah well there's that but just sometimes walking around a grocery store you like watch interactions you're like that's the most interesting thing I've seen But you just kind of walk along you're like I'll put that in the book of not to do in public you know or like oh haven't seen that before interesting like there's just so much you can digest from just people watching each exactly so people watching you're you know working on your media prowess you're in this production of school is there anything going on at school that you're really in love with you love the way it works and you're excited something new that you've learned or maybe a specific Professor you want to give a shout out to I love Professor Z like shout out Professor Z one time she's my advisor and she helped she's helped me a lot this seme actually helped me get on the path I want to go so shout out Professor Z but I think um as much as I forget to say this because I'm more of like a humble person like we have a radio club at the school and I'm the president of the radio club so if you if you're at 4 Seas you're looking for a club to join come join the radio club it's we're trying to build something up trying to get something going for next semester so if you want to come join come come to uh what does one do at Radio Club talk to me so we're trying to like make events of at the school whether that's like promoting people's like stuff or you know next semester I think we're going to try to get clubs who want to do a podcast like started with that you train them a little bit um you're doing gigs you're DJing yeah you're showing up I love it yeah I I I kind of like staying busy so for me like it being busy sometimes can be a little stressful but it's great because you're not sitting there you're like H what do you're like got this i got this i got this i got this objective motion my friends yeah so like the dejing thing was fun like I I think I'd do that as like a side job one day like if I got really good at it because there's always going to be a market for that because there's always events going on you got weddings are like a year round thing what company do I know that you could work for let's talk that's awesome I think like the ction of music like finding interesting um not interesting but great songs you can always play like you're always going to have Classics you can revert to like September earthwind and fire people like to hear that once look at this one he's already a wedding DJ and he didn't even know it perfect and you just like you got the chaa slide Everyone likes to hear that eventually like there there's just gonna be common songs you might hear a lot but like people love them because they're just they're fun like you're just going to be at a party like I'm having a great time yeah but it's I feel like once in a while it's good to kind of put a fresh song in there where you're like they might have not heard this at a point not nothing crazy but you're kind of like this fits the mood and then always remember it's what they want to hear oh yeah we are not srcs we are not you know any of those hot DJs it's what they want to hear it's what makes them happy it's what makes them dance that's it as long as you remember that it's not about you and what you want to hear then you're good rule number one what do they want give it to them they always give them some good suggestions though if they've never heard a song in that's true right you don't want to force them be like this is a song but if you find a couple songs where you're listening to their playlist and you're like this might fit your playlist for your wedding or your party like you might like something like this but you always definitely want to go to the people first and be like what do you want to hear what playlist because you want them to enjoy their experience that's that's a big thing in weddings and parties like people want to enjoy their experiences and have their things go right um there's always there a lot of people when you have a big event like especially something like a wedding you were constantly stressing like oh what about this what about this what about this what about this so tell me more yeah exactly so if you're like oh I got I got this if you if you can have your DJ already set up and they're they're just going with your playlist and they easygoing and help you in that that is one thing wiped off your plate that you can be like all right we're good now I just got to worry about the other 105 things yeah right that could possibly go wrong no big deal you got it covered so you got radio club um Professor Z thank you so much Tuesday I made one um I'm gonna it's it's for Steelers football like I want to do that but I think I might start uh show on like YouTube or something of Just Sports in general where people can not just team related but they can hear some around Sports because you know people like to hear that and you know yeah but you like talking about it and that's all also yeah I I think just having one podcast that's team Centric that like specific PE specific spefic audiences so like the Yankees and why they keep stealing all of our players yeah exactly like they they got Alex Verdugo the other day and I was pretty much like why are you trading with the Yankees but then again contracts these athletes make millions you gonna match the millions with the millions to make the we just don't have the money yeah I I I've liked going to Fenway Park honestly you gone to Fenway Park I have I did see that they also have an interesting Bowl this year and I was curious why in fact it was the Wasabi Bowl I did not the Wasabi Fenway Bowl SMU and Boston College December 28th just in case you're wondering what's going on the Wasabi Fenway Bowl I didn't realize Wasabi was an actual brand I just thought it was spicy stuff that makes your memory come back for old people I I know uh something cool about the Boston College is my cousin Amanda used to be on the de dance team there yeah so uh with my C my cousin she'd be there at the games and stuff like that but shout out Ted Murphy RBC Alum so I'd used to go to a couple games with my auntie Karen and you know we got some cool seats because what you do is you just you find a lot of tickets that aren't bought yet and you just take those seats there you go moving on up we've all done it we've all done it hey if somebody's gonna leave some good seats open be like might as well I'll take that anything you want to say before we go on on our day um I just I just think that um one thing everybody should do is make a positive impact on everybody um you know whether that's just telling someone a good compliment or you just out here helping somebody um just make sure you do it without expecting things back because I know that's an easy thing to do but um if you're going to do something good for someone just make sure it's out of your kindness of your own heart not what am I going to expect back because that is the easiest thing to do I'm guilty of it we're all guilty of it but um just try to make the world a better place because it's not hard to be nice it's just be nice to people spread some positivity some joy and just make sure that um you're just making people's day better just putting a little bit of joy into it and well you've brought me some Joy this morning mate so I appreciate you I I just think you in positive cheer not just when people are in the Christmas spirit but just every day I love it because it's easy to be like oh it's Christmas season time to spread Joy it's it's good if you do it from January to December and then repeat that because you know some people are struggling like they're going through their own battles but if you can reach out a hand say I'm here for you like they're they're G to be like all right like I got somebody's there for me like I'm going to use that as a resource you know so so I think you just we all got to make the world a better place and just stop the the fight in the negativity because it's so easy to be negative once something starts going wrong and like that's it but if you just make keep it positive and spread a lot of positivity I like it you'll be good breathing break like isn't it funny how you can identify what a breath looks like visually it's kind of disturbing I can do it from a mile away it's wild yeah I I think what's funny is you listen to the radio like you were talking about yesterday you hear some things on the radio you're like yep that's an effect like or yeah they were taking a second to breathe right there like you can pick out different things because once you start doing these communications and media studies you're like wow Stu you wouldn't notice notice unless you're in it the whole like thing opens up and you're like I
