Bare Minimum Monday

now uh we used it all yesterday when we were at knock about and we're still learning how to you know make sure that things properly work and it's just two of us you're all over the place having them we get tired and then we're like did you do that I didn't do it and I'm like okay that's okay we're working on that it's all good we're right on top of that Rose and we were in a great conversation about just naming your significant other when we're of a certain age yeah so nothing really came of it you know there was no decision made so I don't know if you're of that age just kind of do your thing I guess right I mean yeah who cares at that point at least you got somebody to hang out with that wants to hang out with you well if you get to that age like Jesus at least well that's why I'm not leaving him I'm like I don't want to start over that's too much work it is a lot of work you know because then you have to oh then you have to find out who they are and learn about them it's a lot of time in oh my God all right you have to take notes sometimes you have to take notes I have a lot of single girlfriends right now that are just gonna be single forever because they're over it it's like too much work yeah it's it's a lot but you know it's okay I watched Chris Rock's uh live did you watch it over the weekend so I didn't see it but I was reading up on it last night and again this morning okay which was because he he hit on the topic of dating because he's single right now oh is he singing yeah so he he went through his divorce he said he dated a little while afterwards and he was talking about dating women of a certain age oh was he really and so he said how expensive it is he goes 20 year old girls want a pair of shoes look at me these shoes look at me at these shoes is she dating no he said he doesn't he goes the older women are great but it's then I need a roof on my house come with me to get my car I need a new car oh I don't have anybody well that brings up a whole thing about what's age-appropriate then too right so well that's exactly it and he was like kind of exploring that whole situation of like what is appropriate and what isn't and I was absolutely dying when he was talking about it because it really is fact when you are dating an older woman she's got older woman problems it's not a new pair of shoes that's gonna fix her right it's true though no you're right but that does bring up another question though kind of you know if you're if you're a guy right yeah what's age of pro I mean how far back can you really go and people not start what is what is the math on that one so you want to know what my math is yes I want to know I don't know if I've ever said this I don't know is this really yes say the math because I want to know what you feel is appropriate I've I've always thought I'm like I'm writing it down I'm kidding I'm kidding I've always thought for either side right for a man or a woman you should being in some being with somebody who could you could be the mother or father of yeah you know what I'm saying yeah yeah so then I could legitimately be your parents it is not cool that's what I'm saying yeah so that what age is that right because you know you could have I say 15 years Max 15 is the your cut off and then at over 50 it doesn't matter over 50 it doesn't matter yeah I don't think so if you're 55 you can date a 20 year old yeah no no over 50 like 50 to 80. oh like 50 to dead you know anywhere in between there nobody cares anymore nobody cares it's like the Catherine Zeta Jones Michael Douglas situation over 50. right and then but if you're 80 you can date somebody who's 50. yeah but it's ought to be like look at Dick Van Dyke the man is 96 years old or 94 years old his wife is like 50. yeah I mean good for him right right he could be his granddaughter right correct 50 60 70 80. but he attributes his longevity to her because she takes care of him and makes him happy good for you Dick Van Dyke so that's what I'm saying if you want to be a he was just Tony Randall or a Dick Van Dyke or whatever I mean just be old and do your old thing I don't care you're over 50. he was just on the Masked Singer right yes and he did a really good job yeah singing a Sinatra song yeah incredible just incredible all right so we've we've decided a lot of things one we don't doesn't we don't have to name what that person is if you're right and then we've decided that when it comes to relationships if you could be that person's parent that's wrong correct all right we're grossed out by that it's not for us I'm just trying to think if I know of any I don't really know of any current situations like that I I do but um they're no longer in my life so I don't have to worry about it got you yeah so I did we I watched the Chris Rock thing first off it opened with Bono singing Jailhouse Rock are you kidding me and it was like it was the weirdest angle I would talk about it all day yesterday I can't get over it but you could see Bono's nose hair and it was like very unkempt and it was like this weird mouth angle and then it panned out a little bit to Bono and he had like he just looked really gray and old since we were talking about of a certain age which set the tone for this day so that's how it opened with it opened what he's saying just say one song he wasn't even he didn't even sing the whole thing it was like weird acapella slow added a weird camera angle so this was Netflix's first time ever doing something live right completely live and so I was I woke up at three o'clock in the morning because that's my my time now apparently I don't sleep anymore and 3am is when my body is decided that's time to get up you get to a certain age I'm just sorry we're setting the tone for this 3am this is when I wake up this is my problem now yeah I try to explain that that I cannot go to bed at seven or eight because I'm gonna wake up at two yeah or three I'm always gonna wake up at two or three yes because you get to a certain age and you gotta go Gotta Get Up you gotta that's it and then you're up yeah so yeah I mean it just doesn't matter I'm night crawling so that's what I ended up watching the later on live all right and uh they did a really good job of organizing it and uh Chris Rock definitely did get in his punches back so at the end I guess what I heard I haven't seen oh hopefully maybe watch it tonight but so he waited till the end right yeah and then he addressed the Will Smith situation and he sprinkled it in did he he sprinkled it in throughout he was talking about Snoop and he's like I don't want to upset any more rappers I started talking about Jay-Z I don't want to set up any more rappers like he was setting it up but I guess it was I mean it was pretty brutal right I mean he he said that he he made a joke about a film that Will Smith was in yep oh he he laid out some dirty dirt on the Smiths he talked about the fact that in the past I didn't realize this that I didn't realize that they had publicly Will Smith and Jada I didn't realize that they actually on TV talked about the fact that she was she did in her terrible talk show talk about being in relationships wasn't she wasn't that wasn't her alleged I'll say it wasn't her alleged relationship with a friend of her sons yes so there's that whole age difference right she could have been his mother yes that's weird right and then so Chris Rock basically was like dude well I I've loved you forever I've got nothing but love for you uh your wife's a problem and I called it out so and but he gaffed a joke at the end and you could tell he was really it was so mad oh really and you could like feel it you know when you screw something up and you like laid it all out in your brain and this is gonna be great and it kind of goes to skew you could I could feel it I was like oh and it's live so there's nothing you can do yeah no it's out there it's done he went back for it he told the joke it didn't have as much that he wanted it to have but it definitely did have an impact and I used to people who were asking him still does it still hurt he goes of course it still hurts all I do is feel summertime ringing in my ear and I was dying summertime yes so he did crack jokes about the situation but he did hit back like a grown-up with his words so I wonder do you think they'll go back and edit that now I bet you they will I feel like they will uh but nobody was spared he tossed his ex-wife under the bus he tossed his kids under the bus he tossed everyone and I loved the selective outrage because it really speaks to volumes of what this country is currently going through with their Collective outrage I think we talked about it a lot I think back to that actual night and you know we've all interesting for people like you and I we've been on stage you know we've done events right yeah we've done hundreds of events over the years but what would you would I think he handled himself pretty well that night because he did I gotta be honest with you someone comes at me coming right back at you exactly right I mean but he had the composure enough to realize I better not I better not take a whack at The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air yeah right I better not give the Fresh Prince a fresh one yeah right because who's who that could have gone really badly it really this past weekend on Friday actually I was in Hyannis I should have gone over to Tiki I was right near you you should have stopped in there a lot of our friends were there yeah I won't say our friends because we don't know if they want to know the thing right right but a lot of our friends the secret society if you know then you know well you know if you do and then some people who really know if you want to if you want to be really clandestine and you don't want to really say what you're doing so look at him with the big words this morning good morning Bob you say I'll see you at the club yeah or I'll see the clubhouse at eight oh all right that's all you need to know that's it if someone ever says the bat signal has been sent you now know if you ever hear me say I'll see you at the clubhouse you know where to find me yeah that's the clubhouse um in Mashpee we have the Cantina yeah that's what we refer to is over there right another Asian place okay um and then the regular club or the club is right around the corner of the Portuguese club yeah we're all members up so I'm I'm members of several secret society clubs that says a lot about me I actually mentioned on Friday night we talked with some people I said I once spent six and a half hours here one day it was back in the day you know but we were talking when you get to chatting and you get to because what happens there is it's a rotation of people yes there's the early morning there's the early evening crowd that comes gets some food has a couple cocktails then it gets quiet and then nine o'clock 9 30 10 o'clock the whole second round comes in so you can sometimes be there for both ends yeah yeah and that's the good time right there that's the whole conversation Soup To Nuts so it was a good time so the Chris rockling now again I didn't see it yet but I want to make sure I'm going to really try to watch it tonight so he talked about the Royals right oh yeah for Meghan Markle I'm so done with them yeah yeah what what's your position on them before I unload on them I felt really I did actually why I I was in England I was in England three days before the queen died with my kids we had an entire month of like absorbing that culture right and I definitely understand it is definitely but he called it the original racists and I was like you're not wrong he's not wrong he's like they've been colonizing people since the beginning of time I guess he's not wrong in a way kind of got a legacy I just don't like I don't like the way that Megan and Harry have kind of treated their family did you watch the special no I won't watch it I watched it I just don't like the I just think there's all people that saved them from that was Tyler Perry and I thought this is really bizarre you know we used to say sorry I said Portuguese I'm a Portuguese right I can say we're allowed you know but there's a there's a thing like you have a very strong family bond if you're Portuguese you know and I grew up as Portuguese as Portuguese gets you know I I eat onions vinegar they're pickled they are pickles it's different but you know there's a certain thing you don't you just just don't speak against the family there's a thing I say I have it on my board in my office everything in life you can learn from The Godfather movies all right there's so many sayings right you don't speak against the family you don't speak out a turn you don't speak badly about your family in public you just don't you keep that stuff in check it is such an Antiquated conversation this day and age because everybody's got something to say about everyone so I know but it's such an imposing of a certain age view it is I just I don't like the fact that they spoke out against his family and here's the thing all right Meghan Markle when you married into the royal family what did you think was going to happen I know you know I know does the Press unfairly treat them sometimes sure they do but it's but you have to realize what you're getting into yeah yeah I mean she's I look she's kind of like the Yoko owner of the royal family yokohuno broke up that's trying to break up the oil I know Chris Rock basically he's like you didn't know you did it no you knew and then the other thing that bothers me you know somebody who's been in the media for 30 years one of the things that really bothers me is I understand the media can be overbearing I can understand they can be intrusive into your life number one you married into the Royals you have to expect there's going to be your life is going to become an open book even People Like Us Little People Like Us we know our lives sometimes end up you know becoming an open oh yeah it is full for all chatter go ahead talk about it that's why I do these lives go ahead come for me right I put it all out there actually I'm not hiding anything I agree with you so when you when she when she decided to enter the royal family I think she you had to understand that that was gonna going to happen but but then here's the thing really bothers me about the meeting you you can't complain that you're being hounded by the media you can't say please leave us alone and then come to the states and sign a gajillion dollar deal with Netflix yeah and and you can't then say I want to be I don't I want to be private you can't do that right and then go public yeah and layer all your dirty laundry yeah you just can't that's why see and I watched the their special just because I was curious what they had to say about it and they were hunted like they really did just want to be alone that's all right so that's the thing I agree especially in Britain with the Royal and especially since the way he lost his mom correct like it's that's a lot that's heavy but if you want to be if you want to be private then be private yeah don't do a Netflix right exactly don't go on Oprah whatever show you're going on yeah stop it yeah exactly yeah it's funny too it's like look at us we just want to be left alone but here we are filming a documentary I get it I mean you can't have it both ways yeah and especially since they had a big payoff um you know because of it yeah so Chris Rock didn't really other than you knew what you were gonna get to but I could stop crying it would have been worse if you were a white girl coming home to a black family basically is what he equated it to he's like you think that's bad this that that would be way worse and then kind of move the conversation so I thought I did it funnily and and with absolute I I don't know what word I would use with it he just did it so much finesse goes into the what he wrote and his program he writes that he directed it it was all him this was completely him and his words I do think he's one of the greatest comedians of all time he really does just seemingly reinvent himself and Will Smith just handed him a hero a license to just reinvent himself once again make another gajillion dollars good for you Chris Rock yeah I mean he's been not only is a great state I think he's one of the greatest stand-ups of all time now I produced a show for his mom when I lived in South Carolina Rose Rock's mom show and so I I very much know their family uh because I was in Myrtle Beach his family is from Georgetown South Carolina no no she just had a mom show where she talked about being a mom and and raising children and trying to raise them right and all the issues that came along with that being a black southern mom and stereotypes versus things that work versus things that don't it was the rose rock bombshell wow and she it was awesome I felt so privileged to be a part of it and Chris Rock wasn't even that big then he was just a touring comedian at the time so I mean she just really she's a wonderful woman she really is and she's incredible and Chris Rock talked about her and Michelle saying she was born in 1947 where she couldn't even go to a dentist that wasn't black and then he was talking about here it is his daughter's going to culinary school in Paris what a in his lifetime he's like I'm not talking about Harriet Tubman I'm talking about my mom so I don't want to give away all the jokes but I mean it was really really good um laying out the whole thing of selective outrage that's a great story I didn't know you had that connection oh yeah like I very much intimately know their family so I was I was like oh my God I know his mom Rose hi I think he's a great stand-up and I honestly I love him in in comedic movies as well sometimes comedians stand-ups don't always transition well into movies sometimes sometimes they're a little bit awkward you know like I like Amy Schumer stand up but I think she's a little awkward in movies you know depending on some of the movies and that's her stick she's the awkward girl yeah yeah but Chris Rock transitions well into people don't remember he was in the Lethal Weapon movie yeah yeah and I think he's amazing in the grown-ups movies yeah he is good too and that was you know Sandler yeah it was filmed here and it was more of the people so they had Dana Carvey on there they had it was basically Saturday Night Live with all old Saturday Night Live people yeah so I think this is going to be a big hit for oh definitely yep it'll definitely make him some money and it's definitely some talking points right now and now it's like shots fired at the Smith Camp what are you gonna say about that one he hasn't said anything right no I mean his people are like absolutely say nothing yeah you say nothing it may be the best thing to do right now just let Chris Rock you know he's out with this uh show on Netflix just let it play itself out you really this is one of those situations it goes to the crisis communication side of me right there you go right yeah I was like okay you know this is what we do you don't in this situation um less is more yeah and there's there's nothing I don't think there's anything at all that Will Smith can add to the conversation at this moment in time other than I'm sorry right and he said that already uh it was interesting because I guess Chris Rock said that he did reach out to him we were talking earlier about that TV show or that interview when the Smiths revealed their you know alleged issues they had in their marriage and he said he reached out to him as a friend he did to say listen listen my friend yeah I'm sorry but Will Smith apparently never picked up no wow so you know anyway this is Chris Rock's moment at this point and yeah but let me tell you something from the from the business the whole year waiting for a whole year to get your comeback a genius because from the from the business side now genius because I'm sure he's got a great deal with Netflix for this and listen you are not gonna be able to get a ticket for his shows he is going to be sold you couldn't after that even after the Slappy went immediately on tour I'm gonna talk about this to everybody that'll listen to me and he was on he was on in Boston that week I actually thought about getting a ticket right but you couldn't even get in no no good morning Jackie hey Don thanks for checking in can uh Ken Allen's uh wife Don yeah she checks in with us that bird that you were taking care of is cracking me up please send more Bird videos she does a pet sitting business oh so she's always got cute pups or cats or one random pets and right now they're like these cute little parrots that apparently loves Ken's deep voice I Love Ken we've had some we've had some good good times with Ken so much fun and he's the voice guy of lemonade here right now so I do love working with him just a little bit it's uh so what type of pets does she she takes care of everything I don't know Don what what is your comfort level on the pets I don't do lizards no lizards lizards and snakes I would draw a line at but that's just me you seem like you'd be able to handle yourself in any situation Don good for you you know it's weird talking about pets uh this happened yesterday somewhere I don't know what what airport it was I saw the video this morning so this person probably should have used Don's service this person tried to sneak a cat onto a plane and they put the cat in a carrier and the cat x-ray right I saw that you see the caveat yeah yes and they said it was an accident that the cat got in there by accident I was like okay right now TSA is doing double screening and I saw it was you and I have been privy to when we are having a big storm or a big something and where everyone the media gets all excited and we're gonna have this this and then the hype the hype the hype so yes well the hype right now with TSA is spring break is here things not to take in your suitcase you know how they're saving you from yourself like it's cold outside come inside or don't don't walk around with no coat on so TSA is letting you know things you shouldn't bring with you in your suitcases like pets cats oh no the list was alcohol Dives and guns what do you need to tell people that they shouldn't be bringing these things to their suitcases I'm just curious alcohol knives and guns it's like that Warren Zevon song you don't put do you need to be told if you need to be told by TSA not to bring these items you've got bigger problems and they can't help you yeah that's a problem I mean but when you decide to sneak a cat on board yep now listen um here's a deal so I'm not a I don't have pets not a pet person and it's not that I I love and edibles but I just don't want them in my house yeah there you go I'm just wrong it's very Portuguese right but I think it's it's it is it is very um my buddy in Ludlow my bro my brother from another mother yeah yeah that cannot be in a clean Portuguese household those animals belong outside so it is so but I I but I'll go to someone's house and I'll treat their animal respect and I the animal is very nice but I do not want that animal in my house correct right um good morning Kate and Don says she does everything so there you go it stinks but here's the deal um I don't like it when and I know some people have to service animals I get but I've been on planes sometimes and somebody has a cat with them or a dog next to them and I'm really allergic to cats yeah and I have a friend who's really allergic to dogs somebody came in with a dog and it's one of those little Paris Hilton dog carriers and I have a little dog and I don't do that and he said I totally said to the uh flight attendant I can't sit here next to that dog and they give him a hard time um he was gonna they ended up moving but uh I don't I just don't understand putting the head on the flight and everything yeah no it's stressful like that flight that Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves were just on there was a dog that was being transported in that flight the poor guy was waiting for his cat or dog from Singapore I'm like that poor animal right it felt so bad stop transporting animals unnecessarily yeah so awful I'm not I just listen I good morning Miss Jill you know how a pet all that that's great but um I just putting on an airplane yeah right and then trying to sneak it through the try once again TSA it is Spring Break um and let your kids know no guns no no knives and no alcohol apparently guns knives so I can't bring nips on board no not anymore but it's under four ounces it doesn't matter ever since the pandemic where people started losing their damn Minds up in the planes they can't control people anymore so now so they have no more alcohol no more I'm flying in a couple weeks so I have to rethink my back right well some of them are now starting to serve alcohol back on the planes but a lot of the times they weren't serving anything because people were just getting loaded crazy getting all and doing stupid things yes exactly lawyer so so we need to talk about your pots during posts please on social I've taxed pitted in here so now you can find him on social and I definitely suggest you do it sometimes I'll look at it and be like he's just trying to get people's reactions and it's not gonna be a good one so I think you just type it out and then you sit there and you're like I get a lot of heat for these from some of my friends who say why are you doing that I said listen this is what I tell people this is what I do for fun I stir things up so I'll I'll scroll through some here and break a couple up but um one one situation I sell people I said listen I do observation I like to just put observational humor on my face that's it I don't take opinion I don't I don't State opinions on my Facebook page I don't make any political statements I'll see something and I'll say hey how about this issue and then people lose their when I mean they go crazy yeah have you ever felt that big about an issue I really don't I really don't not at all right there's something wrong with me but I don't feel that much about issues it's just issues all I did was here's a post from the end of January and I put a post that the uh National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was predicting a 40 to 50 probability of February being above normal now this was the weekend when it was four below zero that was so all I did was say hey I was wondering if the National Weather Service saw the forecast for this week it's going to be four and below zero with a high near 18 and people lost their their brains on it climate people started screaming at me you don't understand you need to stop talking you're a climate denier like no no no I'm not I just gave a fact I just stated that's my whole career my whole career has just been reporting the fact listen I got a fact go ahead and fight me on it I got nothing here don't even care I don't I don't care at all that's the best part I don't care I've got a friend who says you love dumpster fires that's it I'm here for it please be a little bit warm get a little joy out of it but what's wrong contained what's not to love right I literally just pointed out the fact that on the day that it was going to be four below zero in Hyannis The Weather Service said February is going to be warmer and worse that's it good morning Kate hey Dave Dave said last time he flew they said you are not allowed to drink the alcohol that you brought with you Christiana thank you very much for the kimchi I'm very excited to try it Jamie good morning 100 pot stir Jamie Carter no you know hey Jamie likes to see those posts because she'll tell me she's like absolutely it's like she likes to keep it she I keep I keep her entertained she likes it yeah exactly but she knows what you are and then the other one that got crazy was from early January and this was just literally how can people start arguing about food I wanted to go to brunch I love brunch come on I want to go and line up at the trough and I want to eat brunch there you go you can't find real brunch anymore no because and as far as all I said was hey as far as I'm concerned brunch is when you can get in line and scoop as much food as you want right every place that advertises brunch now is just off the menu right that's not brunch That's the menu right I want the option of having breakfast and lunch together on a plate not breakfast or lunch and I want to eat so much food that I go into a coma for the rest of the day thank you I want to eat so much food that you can't lie down because you'll crush your organs I mean that's if you that's a thing you know if you eat so if you do those food eating competitions which I did two once yeah yeah I was told I was advised after one of them don't lay down because you will crush your organs and die so does it not a feel-good thing competitive eating grosses me out I have this thing it really makes me sick I can't watch it like watching them dip the hot dog buns and those things and I'm like what I can't there's a there's a video with me from about 18 years ago doing one in Harwich oh yeah it's really bad so back to this birthday and then people lit organ crunching brunch that's it continue right so people lit up my Facebook page with 86 comments and 91 reactions and people started getting angry about the fact that I don't want brunch to be off the menu right I didn't want it that way we're gonna fight about it this is what I want so again these are just the things that you know just little things I put out there and people just go crazy you know I mean and it's I'm not taking opinions on anything right it's just you know I did one on Hellman's and dukes and oh yeah I wagered in but Miracle yeah I threw my Miracle lip in there right so salad dressing I understand but I still use it as a mayonnaise so here's the thing I love when people react to my social media but don't take it so seriously there are some people that just like eviscerate me like got me like a fish yeah yeah I once again we don't care that much about it John's talking about Harpoon Harry's with all you can drink champagne for a brunch buffet and yes Jenny we want a brunch buffet bring it back yes somebody anybody there used to be so many great brunches on the cape yeah back to the 90s so I was talking with somebody about this so you could go from one end of the cape and have crazy brunches so in every town right so Brax Landing would have a full brunch yeah in Harwich Port then I go way back to when the jameels had the Old Christine oh yeah yeah Christine's I do does everyone remember Christine's Joe Club Christine's had a crazy Sunday brunch buffet brunch right up then the it's now the Comfort Inn but it was the highness Harbor Hotel oh yeah they had this insane brunch for about two years where it was unlimited lobsters you go to the brunch and you'd pile your plate with lobsters and then the old Yarmouth in had brunch they still do on special occasions but they had it every Sunday again same thing full brunch bring on the gluttony you know you bought it so if somebody would bring back I didn't Pelham once in a while has a seafood brunch for something they do and then I know kuna Mesa does um a Sunday brunch it won't go occasionally but if somebody had every Sunday buffet brunch I'm telling you you're gonna make some money I know I know I'm gonna be there yeah let us know we're in for it I know there's a good one in New Bedford I'm gonna have to check with one of my friends on that one well all right speaking of New Bedford they shut shut down the canal to vessels not that how many vessels are going through the canal right now because the right whales yeah not many no that's why I was like what like but it was a new story shutting down the canal or the vessels and I was like how many people yeah just a couple of baby it's a Cadets coming back and forth that's it nobody else they can barge once in a while it's not that many vessels that they're worried about saving the whales from so oh did Don go to brunch with you it says don't we no no she she her and Ken oh okay right but that's in California oh okay we're traveling to anywhere fun uh somewhere warm okay good for you definitely I mean our vacation got canceled why I'm kind of okay with it though we were going to China wait a minute wait wait a minute cliff and I were supposed to be in China right now what yeah I didn't know that yeah we had booked um 10 days in China and then we were also going to Thailand what happened did you shot the balloon down if you're gonna be there for more than four days you cannot unless it's like a puddle jump you know what I mean like it's a transitional flight you can't visit China at this point at this moment no no don't take a balloon over there no it's time to shoot it down since covid have they allowed the because of everything they just lifted Mass mandates there last week oh that's right under like ten thousand dollar fines or something like that yes I'm not exactly super upset I am upset that I'm missing the vacation time my husband and I deeply needed to get away right so now we're like doubling down and and buying you know property and doing stuff I'm like oh my God this is not a vacation I'm excited but it's not a vacation I know I'm going somewhere nice and warm I may not come back ah good for you I'm gonna look at some property while I'm down there see that's the way to do it and you know I may just be remote yeah well good for you I'm so done with I'm done with New England weather yeah up down up down up down yeah you know as a as a younger kid you know we talked about age earlier as a younger kid um I skied every weekend I grew up I grew up just on the on the border up in Chelmsford so yeah I skied every weekend as a kid Non-Stop and then when I moved to the cave a whole long time ago I would still ski but coming to the cape added an extra hour and a half plus each way to going up north and I just kind of gave up on it yeah and then I got old so and I you know I don't want to break up a certain age we've already decided that above a certain age so I don't really have any reason to be here in the winter anymore yeah right I don't like the snow I don't like the cold because I'm of a certain age now right I don't know when exactly it happens but it happens fast it really does some of our friends that were at the clubhouse on Friday they actually spend most of their Winters in the Southern Climate yeah yep and so I was getting some tips and some advice I love that and I just think it's time to get warm that's it I mean the snowboards are recruiting more snowbirds right you know they need a little younger blood in there they're bored of the people that are down there is what happens so I'm gonna go down there and you know check it out fine then maybe come back or not I'm not sure fun I was in the area on Friday I'm kind of disappointed hubby and I were at Home Depot getting a couple of things and uh we had a situation to happen What at Home Depot so as you were seen from Old School it was just really weird it was a weird situation where we had a recent interaction with a human being that was not pleasant and in public and no not in public this is just a private inner inner life situation where it was a transitional period for me okay and I ended a relationship with a human oh and so there they were walking towards me in Home Depot and I I didn't have my glasses on but I was like is that oh and then my husband was like yep oh and my husband just like stared at him oh and to the point where that person looked away and walked as fast as they could away from me instead of yeah I didn't even have an opportunity to be like hey what's going on like I was I was not gonna be that jerk that just ignores you in public now we you know we we spent a couple of years in in in business together right it was just an awkward situation and that person and my husband like did the right like just hello can you acknowledge us and they did it they ran like a little kid it was like such an awkward conversation and then I just kind of looked at him and I was like does that really just happen wow you know me I'm like I will talk to anybody honestly I really will I'm just like whatever it didn't work out it's fine we can have a relationship it doesn't have to be besties but it doesn't have to be awkward or weird that made it awkward and weird have you ever done that locked away and like ran away sometimes you don't want to get in full-on conversations and that does happen at the grocery store we're like hi but I usually I'm like hi busy so you're not gonna believe this you ready for this yes you just reminded me of something you were involved in this situation with me shut up this goes back a few years ago the same thing happened to me I totally blocked this out until now we we were at an event yeah you and I were at an event and a person who I had a situation with yeah was coming towards us oh that's right I went to go to politely say hello hey you know we don't need to make this weird and that person did completely spun around yeah to not yeah do you remember that yes I do so now I remember I'm literally having PTSD because everyone out there has been in this situation where you've had an awkward moment with somebody that you've recently broken up with but that was a breakup we broke up but but I was being the bigger person correct I just wanted to say hey good to see you you know let's not make this weird you just made this weird do you remember that I do good morning Chrissy good morning Derek Roland and Cindy I very much remember that and it could have been less than that but no they made it so awkward because that's that person yeah so now I feel bad for you because you had the same system yeah yeah um and it just reminds me of Chris Rock actually addressed kind of a Sim similar situation and all he did was call him a and I think it fits in every single one of our situations yours mine Will Smith's here we are you know what not right the bigger person the person that is willing to just be like it didn't work out I definitely this was weird I definitely think one of the themes here has been of a certain age today right so I feel like I've mellowed a little bit because you get to a certain age and you start to realize what's really important in life you know what's important in life is not holding grudges against people like it rots your insides out I'm telling you it's not even worth it it takes so much more energy to have that level of hatred for somebody yeah because there's just too much in life um to live for yeah right so stop don't hold these grudges you know it's just it's it just it it's more it takes so much more energy to do that so you get to a certain age you get to that certain age and you realize what's important in life you know what I mean just enjoy life you know big ass buffets your family that's it your clubs right your people the people that make it not so miserable your Portuguese exactly your significant other yeah your lovers your whatever you're gonna call whatever it is you want to call them it doesn't matter you know but I'm serious you know I when I remember when I was in my 20s and early 30s you know how dramatic life was oh my God how robust we were as yes exactly I mean I was ready to pick opinions I was ready to take on them that's it every day come on yeah and then you realize that there's a lot more to it yeah and it's time to enjoy life enjoy your relationships you know just find the people you want to be with yeah and and don't let them go you know yeah and because things happen again you get to a certain age and you know things can happen so look at this there's a seasoned Matt and Stephanie this morning here on 1180 yeah that's it it's a much nicer way of saying things you know well it's got a little bit more flavor that's all yeah I mean you just you worry about you you um uh you just you realize what's important in life you know yeah you know cliches are cliches for a reason because they actually have meaning yeah right it is true I do believe that you know and so you know life is short all those things are important and you just never know what's going to happen and you know you don't there's that old saying when you you know you die they're not that space in between your birth and death you know it's not gonna be dictated by you know how you what you did for a living should be dictated of this could be dictated by how you were as a human being I love it how did you live your life and you know sometimes you get to a point a certain stage in life and you say I'm gonna I'm Gonna Change the Way I Am because it's been too I've been too stressed I've been too aggressive exactly can't take it with you just enjoy it exactly no seriously so yeah I mean I don't want to get too deep but I know right we went to deeptown like Friday night at Tiki for six hours we just came full circle but uh no it's good you know so it's that situation you were in at Home Depot we've and then awkward you brought it up Mayan and I'm sure a lot of people out there have had the same situation happen to them yeah just be the bigger person and just be like hey how are you you know what have a great day that's it smile and Nod would have worked running away looking the other way lame so lame I mean what does that accomplish now you just obviously you're ashamed yeah and especially here on the cave I always say this this is very true on Cape Cod it is way too small uh-huh you know what I mean that that's it we're all swimming in a very small pond friends and sometimes that pond is dirty that's it very dirty you know you need to be because it will come back on you for sure I'm staring into the camera I know right it will come back on you had a moment right so oh my God please come back on the show with us uh our question of the day is what are you an expert at doing other than complaining I don't know I saw that earlier I saw that you posted that yeah what am I an expert at doing I I and I felt bad that I didn't restore the pod that's exactly hi I'm Matt Pitta it's just a fact that's all I can't do is mistake facts I only state facts and then but but that just shows you how divided we are as a country right it is well that's it soften up a little everyone and so people my friends say why are you doing that and I said I'm just stating a fact and then if I put something funny I'll say this is just a little observational humor that's it right that's it I'm not stating I'm not standing I mean the whole Bill Belichick thing which drives me nuts I all I do is state statistics about Belichick people attack me yeah and then I get people start sending me private messages and then people who know me who have my phone number they start texting me I know saying what are you doing you know nothing or what you're talking about you're allowed to have an opinion and guess what I didn't even write down an opinion I just wrote down a fact the biggest all I did the one of the things that created the most chaos was I just one day towards the end of the season put down statistics facts and all I did was put down that when Bill Belichick has been a head coach without Tom Brady he has a 470 win percentage he doesn't even have a 500 winning percentage when he coached with Brady he had a 750 winning percentage as a coach since he no longer has Brady on the team he has made missed the playoffs two times and Brady has won a Super Bowl so my old might just show up in our trivia this week if you find us out out and about my only point was Bill Belichick has a losing record when he doesn't have Tom Brady and people went cuckoo on facts I don't understand the whole the this uh drink the Kool-Aid with Belichick you know just look at the facts that's all but these are the things grumpy yeah he is well not very fun so people say why don't you dislike I thought that I disliked Belichick so I spent several years working at the Associated Press and I had a chance to cover the Patriots and the way he treats reporters in person is just unacceptable to me rude but that aside all we did is put facts up so now my goal for this week will be find another fact to post and can't wait I'll be waiting for
