we're ready foreign were back yet last week and it was wonderful Mariana goes back today today is the day it's just us look at that I know it just just and the weather couldn't be better they left in droves yesterday and it was evident by even driving down 151 as to the traffic that was happening I saw complaints of traffic on social media starting right first thing in the morning and they rolled through the day oh yeah 4.95 is an absolute parking lot yesterday so if you got caught up in that sorry I went out yesterday morning and maybe mid-morning and traffic was fine and by the time I went to the bank and went to um Dunkin Donuts and tried to come back it had come to a grinding Hall like that's it in the face of like in the space of like 20 minutes it was like oh my God here we go you can take a left today yes you can you can't take a left today Robert yep good morning CJ CJ is our our newest uh Sports guy yes he's gonna be doing some late night Sports here oh that's really cool I'm I'm I'm all down for that Welcome to our first show after Labor Day weekend uh I'm just kind of getting myself ready and geared up for our September which does not slow down actually we get faster well you had you had quite a Labor Day weekend though you're at about a thousand places yeah and that's not gonna that's not gonna slow down as fall is here you think it would but it doesn't it's back to school it's the seaside Le Mans we have coming up this weekend it's Grandparents Day this weekend it is so we're doing a 5k it's the mace race over at um our Cape Cod Children's Museum okay I won't be running but thank you anyway regardless and Grandparents Day they're having activities all uh weekend long and they're debuting their Heroes exhibit oh really so it's like fire police all kinds of fun little things yeah very very cool so um I'm not sure if people still do the wave goodbye over the bridge I was wondering about that because we used to live over by exit three and and when Megan was little we would go out to the bridge and we would and we would wave somebody posted a photo from 1979. oh of people standing over the bridges on six waving goodbye with all of their signs and people lined up on the the gridlock traffic I think we just had angry people with gridlock traffic I saw somebody lost their boat on Bass River put a little gum in the works yesterday oh I don't mean to laugh but it's still funny because I don't live there yeah there was somebody one of the things that comes up to the traffic you know yesterday someone was trying to take a U-turn in the middle of 151. they would they were heading out towards Falmouth apparently decided they didn't want to go that way so they turned so the traffic coming up towards the masterpie rotary couldn't move and the traffic wanted to go down 151 couldn't move because it and because and I would say to myself somebody's getting out of their car yeah somebody's gonna say something and they didn't let's put a pin in that road rage situation because I do have stats on Road trade you do I do in fact good morning Lynn hello Leslie and CJ good luck back to school today I think most people are going back to school today everybody left the cape yesterday right take a breath actually you can't outside because it's like breathing roast beef it's disgusting oh the humidity is gross my eyes honest to God if I could get two new ones I think I I think I'd go to CVS and get them today between the humidity and the Fall allergies welcome into fall Oh yay woke up in the middle and I pulled my nose blowing my nose it's like oh my God and and I've got this well we won't get personal about it but I've got this rash or bites that are hot mess that I have had you know I've had them from what five or six weeks now yeah and I'm the only one in the house Mario doesn't get them Mariana doesn't get them I'm the only one sweet meat Hank sorry I just want you oh sweet me God I wish I got you I wish I was younger I could use that line so honey you want a little sweet meat too buddy good morning tea well there's a band that I'm gonna play this afternoon uh speaking of sweet me I don't know if this is a uh um a particular segue but the band is called Passion Pit oh yeah they're good yes and they're named after a drive to drive in movie theaters okay I love it because to drive in movie theaters you just make out Town we're passion pits that's funny because I used to go to drive-in theaters in the backseat with my parents and uh there was no Passion Pit there I'll tell you that right now no no and actually Passion Pit Passion Pit is from Cambridge take me to your best friend's house it's one of my one of my favorites from them we've got some good stuff yeah um uh Sue thank you so much for joining us T are you guys officially done at the melody tent this is also this time of year like that's it wrapping up the tent goes down it's like a little bit of sadness even though I didn't get to the tent in one time this season there was nothing there well I gotta tell you it gets a little hot and humid in that tent right Mama doesn't like that anymore it's not for her yeah yeah no there's I mean do you like it you like the heat yeah I do I mean I like comedians but none of the comedians that were there really excited me and I'm not a country guy and I don't know I guess the only ones we would have gone to see was probably trained and and we missed that but we saw a train open for hoodie and the Blowfish very cool like about a million years ago they would they would there were nobodies yeah but they were the band opening up the hoodie and the Blowfish well that is very different now yes and they played the tent one night for what three or four thousand people the next night they're in Mohegan Sun banged out the place with what 10 or 12 000 people yeah that's a big arena over there yeah so I don't know why maybe it was Nostalgia or something or a lot of the performers who come here they have some great Tunes yes a lot of the performers who come here and and play at the tent they love to play golf okay and and we have a we have a friend who used to be friendly with um management at the tent and it was not unusual for him to get a call saying hey so-and-so wants to play golf yeah well that's not a crummy job no and and go entertain the artist yeah and Hank and Hank was a pretty good call so he used to he taught me how to golf and um and he would take out you know this celebrity or that celebrity who who wanted to play golf see I'd be fine with that yeah I'm a great caddy like I'll drive you around I'll get you drinks we can shoot the shoot but uh golfing no thank you um I'm not there I'm there for app Ray golf also right you're there for the 19th hole that's it that's where I belong meet me at the party yes what else do you have going on this weekend your wife is asking my wife is asking what am I doing this weekend what else is this weekend Hank she said oh it's our wedding anniversary 34 years that's amazing 35 probably 35 and a half together but but 34 years married that's pretty incredible what is your secret a lot of patience with each other okay and a lot of Tolerance you at the county fair either no but it's really good to have that conversation because a lot of people um are this day and age ready to quit give up throw in the towel and move on uh but it's a lot of freaking work to be married oh yeah as as you know because you you re-upped yeah I I re-upped we're still here we're still trying to work things together no I can't picture myself with any other human so I don't think any other no I couldn't deal with me I mean I couldn't let's be honest I couldn't either you know Murray will say to me oh when you know if anything happens to me you're gonna get married again and I'm think I'm thinking I'm saying the supportive thing and the right thing and I said no I'm just going to get a dog you're going to replace me with a dog oh oh my husband's under strict instructions he's not allowed to date or be with anyone else oh I said at my ghost will haunt you I will come back I will haunt you it's me and no one you're never going to be happy again because I'm gone right on my own yeah you know I just get a dog he loves umari he really does so um I'm going back to our pin in our road rage incident there was a survey that was released on um where the road rage came from conference confrontational drivers number one they said was Arizona number two Rhode Island really I have this move it's called the Rhode Island creep the Rhode Island it's the only way that you can get out onto 151 is by the Rhode Island creep you stick your nose out and then make sure that you're stopping traffic right that is the only way that you get it done yep so I've dubbed at the Rhode Island creep and now I understand why confrontational drivers all right number two West Virginia Virginia and Oklahoma rounding out the top five where's Massachusetts um it didn't fall in the top ten wow we're not confrontational we'll sit in the car and scream at you from our car I swear behind the steering wheel let's get all aggressive there but we're not going to be the ones that are like getting out of our car and starting fights with you yeah we're not those kind of Fighters and in many of those States those people probably have guns in their cars yeah we're not getting out of the trouble except well Rhode Island's a different story well I don't know what to make of Rhode Island I don't think they eat do either no good morning Mary you something you do that you do that again well there was a situation when we Hank and I love the sandwich police blotter yeah uh and there was a situation where someone um had parked in three parking spots oh my gosh and well Labor Day weekend on the cape and you're taking up three parking spots with your car you're there are going to be riots there are going to people be people causing problems and the business owner could not for the life of them find who was taking up these three cars he came outside to see more information about the car and saw people that were in line for the business taking off their license plate basically like starting riots out there like we'll show them for not doing whatever it turns out the poor person's vehicle who it was was struggling with children and getting them out of car seats and whatnot and trying to get them back in like it's so ridiculous seriously never in my life have I thought it's a good idea that I might touch somebody else's property let alone take off their license plate yeah you're a crazy person I wish I could approve well this is why it's crazy crime in the sandwich police blotter that's right God bless them honestly that was not the only thing that we did also witness that we like the neighborhood dispute that was a good one oh the neighborhood dispute which one was that oh the dirt yeah a deeply rooted neighborhood dispute continues to grow a woman called to report a number of plants had been dug up and thrown under her side of the fence the floor appeared to be from the woman's neighbor's Gardens that's all the dirt we have on this one whoever is riding over there at sandwich we appreciate you yeah good yes so good also who's digging up plants and throwing them at their neighbor how what kind I know sorry for your loss but he was telling stories about me when I was younger um including that I apparently did not want to go to school and my mother had to drag me out of the house Kicking and Screaming sounds about right in order to go to school yeah I still have flashbacks of sister Zeta calling my mother she's late she's late again she would be so impeccably impressed with the fact that I'm a morning person I know after the grief that I put that poor nun through I had a I I had a student back when I taught at Dean Junior College a long time ago um who just never got to class on time it got to the point where one day I said to the class okay do you know what dorm she's in let's go field trip these are highly unethical things we do not condone this and and and and we went over and you know someone banged on the door and said here we are you know and uh she she ended up being a quite successful quite successful um Morning News person right look at that yeah how funny is that yeah we have to be properly motivated Hank maybe a school room full of class and I always thought Betty Joe where are you getting this from that's awesome you couldn't get up when you were younger now you're XXX and um and she's doing a Morning Show now I think at a radio station in um in Westerly that's awesome she was news director at Channel 10 forever incredible yep but you couldn't get it for class not always morning people we end up being morning people oh I'm glad Olivia made it to her first day of school cheers Mama a few more years left it's crazy how fast they they grow I can't believe it's Lily's Senior Year we're already starting with drama hey hey let's talk about the senior picture kerfuffle proud of you proud of you for what you did I I don't know if everybody saw it there was a situation where one of my friends was promoting her business and using my daughter's likeness to promote her business totally fine I don't even care about that not at all go ahead and use the photos we loved the photos there are a bunch of different ones that I hadn't even seen yet that she had posted fine well someone decided to say that I thought maybe it was the advertisement for her photography business yeah but no it was directed at my child saying oh my God dot inappropriate and I I normally just scroll on I really do I really try not to engage on social media was your daughter sometimes people are looking for fights and I just wanted to say you know so I took a deep breath and I was like you know what I'm not gonna be nasty I'm not gonna attack this woman but I as a mother am okay with these photos of my adult child uh and then I posted something about clutching pearls and then you know sent her her Victorian photos right are these are these better I thought it was I thought it was great I thought the photos were fabulous I mean they were different I mean we've talked before about when did senior photos become a photo shoot yeah not just get in line stand in front of the green screen smiled bang bang bang I have a great one and it was like a woman from the 70s with her feathered hair or her sunglasses on a butt hanging out of her mouth with her capping down on and then the girl the girl who had put out the meme basically was like this was my mom's senior photos that my grandmother would not allow in the yearbook yeah and I laughed because you know every that age bracket 17 to 19 you're just finding yourself you're finally able to be your own adult and you're making your choices for you for the first time that you have to live with and she made those choices and wanted to have those photos and I thought how dare this woman try and shame my daughter for something that she really liked and she chose and this was how she chose to express herself so I had to say something if you'd like to see it it's on Harwich Cape Cod then somebody started attacking the the photographer he didn't even I'm an amateur and I'm better than you and I was like just scroll on I just I I said what I said I'm not gonna respond if she responds I'm I just had to say something to get it out there and I'm done now people are out of control if if um you are part of the Cape Cod Cape Cod restaurant review page oh my God that group seems to be out of control themselves unlike Cape Cod dining at home and everywhere else where Mari if you act like a jerk you're gone but she's kind of from Rhode Island so that might explain that um I was looking at it this morning someone posted a review of a restaurant in Plymouth and then took it down and then posted to apologize because they didn't want to get a keyword or upset people because they reviewed a restaurant in Plymouth it was like and he's running that group maybe we should have a conversation with the person that's running that group you know what they've shut it down they shut it down recently yeah in order to recalculated everything and it made no difference I mean God bless them for doing it it's a lot of work Mari puts a lot of time in but it's but it's really like you know what time to shut that one down well it's like a community I mean you when you let when you let the inmates run the Asylum right right that Community gets a little out of control and I know a lot of people that have really lost sleep and stress out over Facebook groups oh these are supposed to be groups of people that like the same thing and even within that there's infighting and craziness yep and people who just ask total strangers advice on just the most incredible things I'm not serious when I ask questions I just ask questions that come across my mind usually it's me laying in bed at five in the morning like what if that I wonder what this is I like to see what people's photos are today is when should I put up my Halloween decorations I don't have many but I do like them I'm not tacky with decorations I'm very minimal when it comes to putting out stuff but I do want to put out some pumpkins and I'm getting excited already it's after Labor Day right right well don't they have Christmas decorations up in the stores I'm not ready for that yet all I wanted to know was when can we decorate for Halloween most people are saying October 1st I feel like it's time now right well you got the pumpkin spice lattes now so I mean I like Apple flavor personally Apple flavor Apple everything apple cider oh I love it Donuts this is apple picking time the warm Donuts you got you got the guy over at Mashpee Commons who was in front of um William Sonoma the kettle Donuts guy yes they're good oh my goodness I'm very much looking forward to moving on over to the masterpie commons we're doing our um last two Christmas markets uh our last two um makers markets over at knock about and then we're gonna move over to the Christmas markets in the Mashpee Commons so I gotta talk to the donut guy oh yeah you gotta get him I need I need him closer to us yeah yeah cause William Sonoma is in yeah it's not that close yeah we had a wild weekend so yeah I had to make my comments on social media for Lil that started off my annoyances I although a little sort of sort of startled me this morning because I pulled up and I heard someone say hi Hank and I was looking around and oh it was Lil just sitting out in the front yard having her coffee sitting with the cat you know just kind of just kind of grooving she said she'd been up early yeah you know and she was you know just kind of getting herself ready for ready she cracks me up she really she's a funny little human that one oh she had her she had a robe on and she was reading in the garden with her cat this morning it was 5 a.m I know it was great it was great and I asked her if Ted had posted his classes yet and she said no but she was gonna she was gonna check for me Ted because we're going to get Mariana signed up I hope for one of Ted's writings just write it Ted Murphy is an amazing local author and he does a really great job with the kids but now he's offering adult writing classes which I also like too Mari said people are so mean right it's from everyone and you're and your your blog post about the kids going back to school was very well done it was sad I was in my feelings a little bit Hank I know no it's kind it's tough I don't like when they're all grown up now I just think when your memories come up and you see them when they're little and to have those moments with the back to school stuff especially when you're posting you know I you know what keep posting it keep posting if it's there 487th year of school and they're a super senior I don't care they're your kids and then once they're gone they're gone and it makes me sad yeah you'll never get that time back so take that time oh yeah you can't get it no you're telling me we were playing cards with Mariana the other night and um I just I was we're playing in me and Mari and Mariana and I just kind of looked at them and I was thinking to myself you were sitting in that chair not all that long ago when I was trying to get you to eat pudding and now you know and you got it all over your face and everything and now you're beating us at at Hearts now she's shaking you down how did that happen what you know I didn't get I didn't get older did I I know apparently I did there was a party that said I did but um oh it's crazy yeah it's just crazy well it says we're talking about getting older we had we had the deaths this weekend there are three though we've completed this circle we had three Jimmy Buffett got everybody in their feelings I was DJing at the yacht club for the pre-fireworks party it was a barbecue and uh people were like more Jimmy and I'm like I don't I'm sad about Jimmy I know my dad's wife Joan is a parrot head yeah he's like it's a dark day over here I bet he affected a lot of people he uh he he brought joy to a lot of people ironic that he has skin cancer I don't know if that's irony I feel like that is the largest organ of your body I feel like it's one of those things that you kind of it can wait but sometimes it can't and once it takes root you know how it is oh yeah Mr Mr Fun in the Sun gets gets skin cancer yeah it's sad and then um that same day that he passed I saw that Steve Harwell entered hospice and I was like wait a minute Smash Mouth and then I started looking at 56 he had like some heart issue yes and he had entered hospice and then Sunday morning he had passed and I was like this is this is crazy yeah and then uh completing the circle was Gary Wright uh Dreamweaver he was at least made it into his 80s I'm like I feel like it's respectable if you make it over the what is the limit of 78 or yeah yeah 78 seems to be the magic number 78 if you make it to 78 I'm gonna feel like I did my job right I used the skin sleeve well I had a good time with it thank you Lord I appreciate it it's gonna it's gonna push up to to um you know 80 and 81 as people my age get to that point but well um blue zones there's a new show on Netflix and that's the areas in which people live to be over a hundred and it's Greece and it's Japan and they're just kind of going over the years what it's their diet but not only that they said science says that the per people that are just being born right now are the first humans to be able to have the capacity to live to be 150 years old yeah that's crazy it's insane to me I don't know if you want to live like that I don't find one I mean if I think they're replacing body parts though yeah I mean I I I I I don't know I mean if I was okay I mean but if I was sitting in the wheelchair drooling yeah that's not fun that's not fun you know there are any number of instances where we see older people and I'll say to Mario Mariana romari and Meg like it like that shoot me no definitely don't I'm not interested just push oh no once again this goes back to I'm gonna haunt you I wanna use every measure to keep me alive I will be a burden to him he will wipe my bum he will take care of me he will bathe me I will be a burden to everyone in my family well she already explained this they've been so a lot to me it will be my turn well see when I get to that point that's when I get the nurse the blood nurse with the big boy that I have been promised by wife who then adds the caveat but I'm not saying how young the nurse will be yeah it doesn't matter because when I hear blonde girls with big boobs I think 22 and she's thinking 62. nurse ratchet I'm excited good morning Diana thank you so much for coming out to trivia last night was a lot of fun over at dinos we brought out a new game since it's National chicken month Cliff's got this game flick and chicken what so we have tiebreakers we allow people to get ties during our uh because it's fun so we get to play along and there's always different games and uh he got these they're Rubber Chickens but they're they're pretty bouncy so we kind of put the disc in the middle and see whose rubber chicken is closest to the disc you get it on the desk he had a point but they were bouncing so I had you know grown as adults throwing Rubber Chickens around dinos you just never know what you're gonna get and uh we had some new players some new people relocating to Mashpee excellent that had not been out at all and they were like we really love it we're so excited that we found you she said I saw you on social media and I we had to go we needed to see this International person I said I hope I didn't disappoint and she said absolutely yes international radio that's it that's right yeah hey by the way that phone is off the hook I don't know if it's ringing or what probably because I was so annoyed it was doing nothing but ringing over the weekends okay probably did that on purpose so that I could work I'm not gonna talk to anybody I was knee-deep in trying to get a bunch of assets done um for another client of ours and uh just for whatever reason people started just calling calling calling but it was a long weekend why I don't know I don't know maybe they had something to tell me but I just wasn't interested in finding out hahaha I just being a business owner you know when you just need to focus on something and sometimes you just need to shut it down see that's why I text you when I have problems that's it you know I'll be right back did I not text you right back can you tell me what the problem was I fixed it everything was fine oh we got it done and we moved forward it was it was easy once we you know once we addressed the uh once we address the problem good morning Lauren oh thank you she likes this yellow on me oh okay one of those it's I feel like it's a fall color we're moving into our uh the fall wardrobes I ordered a bunch of stuff for Halloween I'm very excited we did I did like what cute outfits oh Halloweeny outfits Hocus Pocus outfits I'm a seasonal dresser my Christmas wardrobe is outstanding I have like three buckets of fun stuff I love when it reaches December and I start to get to where all of my ridiculous Christmas outfits this is the only time of year that no one looks at me and be like she's a weirdo I'm always a weirdo I just get to dress like the weirdo I want to be in October November and December what about Christmas time this one the ugly sweaters come out in the stupid ties and and guys start wearing Santa hats I am such a fan of seasonal dressing I really am Santa's tell me that if I let this go a little bit more you really could have I could we could sell you oh yeah we could be our station Santa because sadly I've got it here now so you know I I would I would I would fit right in and I could I love it and I could put on The Voice and jolly Saint Hank I think he's got another career Murray oh God another career it's easy you could just smile and wave haven't I had enough and where are some of my seasonal dresses you'll look great I'm very excited you put me in a dress no no dresses like word outfits we'll get your fit all set you said seasonal dresses I mean I'm not not that there's anything wrong with it I'm not that kind of guy but I'm not that kind of guy although I've never tried it so you might like it you just never know just speaking of not tried it just kidding what we need to talk about this situation I was actually I shouldn't have been surprised but I was downright appalled that there was a notice warning people not to ingest borax on social media you're kidding now somebody said that it reduces inflammation and so that became the tick tock in Instagram and thing where people were doctors had to warn people not to ingest borax that sounds like the kind of thing that that President Trump challenge president Trump was having that press conference and he sort of tossed out this idea well can't we use bleach to take care of covet or something and and everybody would work you know the other thing that I saw people are making a thing about the ingredients in Hellman's mayonnaise why it's eggs right because it's oh God let me see if I can find eggs and oil that's what mayonnaise is I mean I mean good morning cam good morning flavors mayonnaise it's like it's like the thing let me see if I can find it um I probably won't be able to find it Lauren's also saying don't knock dresses until you try them Hank so oh God Diana Stephanie will keep you busy with a capital busy if you dress like Santa I got I got gigs for you like oh boy Hellman's mayonnaise I'm just still like consumed by The Borax situation in which surgeon had to say it is a toxin it is a poison do not ingest this but you know people see it on Tick Tock people see it on on on social media somewhere and we've talked we're talking about this before we even came on people do the dangest things because they see it on social media I don't get it I don't get it either somebody you don't know is telling you to do something or not do something or say that this will say that this will work or not work yeah but then grow up that way I can't find that no easily influenced by others don't have poisons there you go you're oh yeah for today here we go my refund the Hellman's mayonnaise thing let's start with a kilt it sure is disgusting contains a bioengineered food ingredient okay Hellman's mayonnaise so now people are like you you can't I mean my mother made the best potato salad in the world because of Hellman's mayonnaise oh maybe that's why because and she did another thing and Mari makes one that's really really close and and DJ's Wings where where Megan works is really close to my mother's but to something that my mother did that made it to best potato salad in the world and one of them and one of the specific ingredients was Hellman's mayonnaise huh well things were made differently back in the days of your yes if you are oh come on I'm not that old your mother's dears I'm saying food was made differently it really was my j-1s left this weekend yes and I said I missed them this morning I stopped at the difference the time forgot a little sad over there um but I said to them what is the one thing that you've really missed about home and they said the food they said they don't have frozen food they don't do food like we do oh really yeah yeah so they really miss food from home they it's just very it's so much fresher right than what we have and I was like oh you're right you're right I mean when we've been in Italy I mean you get a steak they killed the cow this morning yeah yeah it's just it's a different they scare you because I do have two friends that have passed from there was a mad cow outbreak years and years ago in the UK I remember that and uh they they came to live here and then it rooted its ugly had some point in there in their 50s and they both died from Mad Cow which is really wild poor Tracy kepex I mean the most fit human being I've ever met in my entire life and it was mad cow when she did um a four-year stint when she was in the UK um but they scare you and if you watch any of those Netflix X expose on our food sourcing you probably would never eat meat again and the way that we handle our food it's it's it's not great the FDA is not it's no not great no and they don't have enough inspectors to do what they no really have a hard time doing when they do have enough think about the reduced hours of everybody around you right now with their regular businesses think about that in government agencies that's kind of scary right no one's protecting you you need to protect you and I think it definitely comes down to our food and where it comes from oh yeah so that was that was specifically jarring speaking of food we have Midnight Hour scallops this weekend and I'm very excited oh we do return of Tom Brady with Midnight Hour scallops I feel like this is going to be a perfect situation for my Sunday afternoon could you need to unwind for after my crazy day I'm looking forward to the scallops they didn't have them at the last Market because they needed a vacation oh well I went to spend time with their family and big fish really good morning Patricia oh my goodness I don't understand why someone would want to do that Patricia really I'm just joking I love my family I love spending time with me right we're kidding by the way we understand that you have a life too you Patty's Day gigs after Santa listen buddy retirement's not gonna go easy for you I'm never gonna retire I'm I'm not capable of I'm not capable of retiring husband and I have been really going over like what our our long-term plans are the past few years yeah and I don't know whether that's because of both of our working status is now uh we work for ourselves yeah so it's like we're probably never gonna not work yeah unfortunately but it's like the pace of work and how we see this going for the next few years I don't know how it's going to better out but I we it's scary the longevity I don't know if it's there I don't know where it's going to end up but we'll have to see about that one of you will end up working full-time again in in the traditional sense I don't think so really yeah I don't see us ever going back I really don't not that I ever aspired to be a manager or person that is hiring people than running businesses but here I am there's a need for it people more than ever need their mental health well right um and and having fun and making games and and playing with people and doing events has been really really exciting I never thought that this would be an Avenue and here we are that's the one that's amazing and flourishing for us so we're riding this train and we're having a good time doing it so thank you very much to everybody that comes out for our games uh we do sit and spend many hours working on them um and making sure that you really get the most out of your couple of hours with us just to leave your life behind a little bit and enjoy some some entertainment I mean and they are lots of fun and I'm just not saying that but that but they are lots of fun somebody suggested a Jimmy Buffett uh music Bingo and I said well we kind of do video now and I don't know if anybody wants to sit there and watch 25 minutes of Jimmy Buffett videos right so but maybe we'll spice up the dead category that's a hint for Wednesday just in case you wanted yesterday switching over the kids phones and I Gotta Give T-Mobile some credit right here they were really wonderful oh down in Michigan well we did they weren't open yesterday okay so we ended up in Falmouth and Amy right next to the black guys becomes a really good too yeah really helpful really nice and uh we we didn't spend too much time trying to figure it out we got the military plan so we got a little bit of a discount and moving the kids phones around and so that they have they're set up for a while um and they were just really helpful so we're moving over to team you can only use their phones during breakfast and lunch however good it won't bother me but they were saying how their hours are different because they don't have help right no one is working I don't know where these people are working I don't know where they are either where are you why does no one have help yeah even Dollar General was complaining that all their sales are downsliding yeah how is that possible wouldn't the dollar store get an uptick when things are tough one would think one would think but if they're complaining about the economy what what is happening yeah a little nervous about that yeah if you if you're on LinkedIn at all you know they have all these surveys all the time and um you know is the economy improving yada yada yada and consistently the response is always no and uh just like okay but what are you gonna do about it yeah you know and it doesn't seem it doesn't seem to be it doesn't seem to be an answer unemployment is ridiculously low so have these people just like disappeared have they joined the gig economy are they like you and Cliff who just you know sole Proprietors you know probably you know you don't you don't show up anywhere anymore yeah yeah true maybe I don't know you know do you have an SD business or something Etsy whatever Mari said Realtors do not retire no we'll always you know and and you know eventually I'll I'll retire from teaching at at some point and oh yeah are you totally virtual this semester actually I lost I lost my classes this semester won't mom because enrollments are down and they had to take the the um adjunct faculty's courses and give them to the full-timers okay uh this is this was a survey that was out this morning in the morning Brew uh just an email that I get every morning and they were saying um absenteeism is high children are missing from the classroom from kindergarten all the way through college yeah missing empty classrooms people are choosing to be at home they're doing Boutique teaching so they're hiring a teacher to have their their everybody that has like-minded whatever you can actually go online and find somebody that's homeschooling their kids around here and bring them to that home school and you all split the teacher cost yeah I could understand that even from a teaching perspective our teachers um the amount of stuff that they have to deal with and the amount of bureaucracy within the school I would get wanting to just work for a group of eight people and three families yeah and just teaching in a facility that is someone's home I get it yeah I always worry about the people who homeschool who aren't qualified correct there is a hundred percent a big uptick in that right and and it's a lot and it and at what point does it hurt their kids that you know Mom or Dad or whoever is homeschooling just can't do it you know you get to a certain point in in math I I couldn't homeschool Mariana and math after she was seven years old just couldn't do it yeah it's not for me you know and and I have a couple college degrees and I've taught and everything else I couldn't do it yeah that's not our lane no no so I don't understand who you know people you know they say I'm just going to homeschool because of whatever whatever the reason some point it's got to catch up for their kids Patricia said nobody wants to work for less than 25 bucks an hour you're not wrong Mary betz is saying Amazon um people that are joining us from LinkedIn what are you seeing in the workforce I'm just so curious to see what's out there that maybe I haven't been able to put my finger on what what is happening but I think gig economy and sole proprietorship has got to be up and we're not seeing those numbers anywhere and I don't know why no they don't get they don't get collected for some for some reason yeah it's interesting to me yeah um Switching gears just a little bit because because people have to have money to buy the stuff that's being bought you know it's kind of like it doesn't it doesn't make any sense no one's working but you know boy Home Goods is always crowded and people are buying stuff yeah so you know I don't know I don't know we don't know where you workers are just curious right uh like I said Switching gears just a little bit um as we're going back into school where a football season is about to start parents really just behave yourself on the sidelines you're not in the game you're not reliving Your Glory Days you've got a story well there was just one actually where a parent ended up winning Tennessee softball softball um parent went to court over being removed from being able to be on the field and was protected really for their right to speech oh my Lord and so they're going to allow this verbally abusive parent back on the fields because they went to court and found a loophole and being able to spout whatever Ridiculousness on the sideline oh my goodness this has got to be so tremendously embarrassing for the child you would think um but also where does freedom of speech end and where it is just being a belligerent buffoon start like where is that line of ridiculousness yeah I mean I really kill him with kindness is always something that I instilled in my kids and I'm just not seeing that out there no very much uh we do have the kindness Festival that is coming up this weekend on Saturday and uh it's for kind hearts for kids which does a lot of work with foster kids and making sure that they have everything from backpacks and birthday parties to just regular kid experiences that get often overlooked for just your here's your food here's your room um you know you're you're taken care of they really go into every aspect of all of what a kid needs yeah and they do an amazing job and uh it's just a kindness Festival it's where kids can come and they've got kids that are selling cakes and cupcakes and doing bake sales stuff to businesses that are selling their crafts and where is that it is inborn uh at the scenic park there okay and uh it's from 11 to 3 in the afternoon and I'm gonna be playing some music and we're gonna have a really good time and uh please just come bring the kids let them run around let them have a good time hopefully the weather is going to cooperate with us yep I haven't even looked free kid Zone petting zoo and yeah Stephanie Viva yes I will be there yes yes yes it's always a good time and Lauren is going to be there as well talking about parents and sports you may have seen this on social media um Sunday night the game of the week or whatever it is which the Yankees and maybe Houston I'm not sure um but there was a ball hit to left field and it was going appeared to be going foul and the fan right at the edge put his hand out to try to catch it and he didn't catch it it fell but if he hadn't caught it if he hadn't put his hand out the outfielder there would have been enough room for him to catch in a foul ball yeah so what do you do about it well here's the thing he was there with his young son any other time he would have been thrown out yeah immediately but this guy was such a hot ticket that they let him I think they let him stay partially because he was with his son yeah but then he was on camera all the time the next time there was a foul ball that way he went ah not me not me and and and Buster only went over and interviewed him and he was uh he seemed to be a really cool dad saying well you know what these excitement sometimes gets overwhelming right I just wanted to have a great experience for my son it's his first ball game I saw the ball coming I tried to catch the ball I wouldn't you know if you go to social media you'll you'll find him he's all over the place yeah um but that was you know somebody being somebody being cool yeah well that's it like and for them to give him the opportunity to just be like I just got really excited stupid I know the outfielder is not happy about that situation that way the play went did it affect the game did it change the direction of the game it didn't change the game so then really it doesn't matter sometimes you just have to let it happen if it was a pivotal moment that ruined the game I mean there's there's gonna be if it was like a Bill Buckner moment right I get it yeah no no I and and I think because he was there with his young son who couldn't have been any more than I don't know six that security wasn't going to go up and take them out yeah you know they just they just let it go good morning Miss Caroline thanks for joining us Patricia is saying people aren't kind and they were taught decided to go back before Labor Day weekend right but it's my maybe it's just kind of like let's get all this Kinks out first yeah and then let's start the school year on the first day because the first week is a throwaway week anyway kind of useless anyway so get it get it done yeah and then you wrote earlier yeah well Lily's going to be out earlier anyway I know it reminds me graduate I'm sorry I don't want her to grow up actually I do but I don't and it's not like she's leaving so right she's decided to stay put and if she leaves she's only going to come back I know they leave and come back and leave and come back and leave and come back well they don't leave and at this day and age they can't afford to leave that's true they're not going anywhere until they're like 30. I don't know what the hell's gonna happen right cliff and I are trying to downsize this space so we're not making it more comfortable for them to keep staying right right well if you just have one bedroom and they have to room together that'll take care of it guys I don't know they'll be camping in my front lawn probably speaking of camping in my front lawn listen to this Taylor Swift continued to crush records this woman has got a movie version of her concert that is coming out in October and has already sold 26 million dollars worth of tickets for a movie that's not coming out until October her fans are Robin I was at an event over the weekend and that Taylor Swift I had to weave 14 Taylor Swift songs into like the whole event but I mean actually they were really good it was kind of like a tick tock song to the moment that was happening so I didn't really mind having that much Taylor Swift yeah but normally in an event you're like oh I've already played a Taylor Swift song no I had 14 of them that I had to weave into the thing and I had parents going thank you so much they loved it so I was there for it too I enjoyed it I just she is just a mega that good or is it just hype now it's it's good it's it I enjoyed it it's Pleasant it's one of those things where I'm not against it I'm not for it I'm not gonna go seek it out but I it's Pleasant yeah it's good stuff with a good message I feel like it's wholesome yeah there we don't have much of that this day and age and I kind of like it yeah yeah no you're right just relax it's not divisive you can just really enjoy the moment right right you know parents are losing their shirt but yeah all the stuff they have to buy and you're right well hopefully she she does a lot of give back hopefully she'll do more of give back and if it's a Taylor Swift world that we're living in there could be worse things yeah you're right it could be worse yeah it could be worse right what do you got coming out for your week uh well have been downsizing our equipment because I I'm coming into Mrs bowling season yeah so I'm gonna have to be on my own I've had a whole summer of having his help so I'm trying to lessen my my burden of carrying things around so our footprint is getting smaller and smaller with technology these days I'm loving the advancement I'll tell you what but our new travel microphones are the size of a tile really and they sound amazing I don't even need a board anymore when I'm traveling wow we've got our conference coming up in October so I need that taking it I said the first week of the second one the first week of October first week of October okay so I'm gonna I'm gonna um stream you from where we are so make sure your microphone is all set up I'll just send you a link and we can do our show no no no we just both decided that we're gonna so not sober September so much but just like less okay we're going to um minimize our situation and work on some lower carb recipes some keto stuff I've never done keto before I don't know if I want to jump into that but if you've got any food suggestions Mari and I are looking for them Cape Cod dining at home and everywhere else yep share your recipe Facebook group over 5 000 members if you get obnoxious like the folks on uh Cape Cod restaurant review you're going is well well her dad's from East Boston so that's all you need to know that's it also I'm looking for something he knew people who knew people besides scallops some other fun football snacks I always get in a rut with football stuff because it's usually the same thing cream cheese sour cream right cheese lots of cheese onion dip I know get your sour cream get the onion soup I need some healthy appetizer choices I feel like that we need to branch that that situation and it can't just be asparagus and prosciutto I need some other stuff yeah some other fun appetizer things to serve at football games and I've really had it with asparagus any restaurant you go to everything comes with asparagus now and you're just not a fan I used to be a fan I feel like we need to get a t-shirt asparagus used to be wow they've got asparagus hey that's really cool yeah now it's like oh they've got asparagus uh so they need they need a new vegetable you know I don't know not broccoli because I don't know someone someone created a new vegetable please but asparagus has got to go that said he's had enough I've had it I've had enough asparagus I don't hate it I just like you know do you have anything else besides asparagus and the way it just look this year and goes oh you're that guy I'm that guy right you know all right I'll take that get what you get I'll take the coleslaw that's I usually go with the coleslaw I don't know why I like it so much yeah well the close close law is good as long it's healthy excuse me is it it's not mayonnaise on anything and it's delicious what I'm saying is it's healthy ER if it's not too many and easy right right more vinegary more vinegary
