um I we had our friends over at thurwood place yesterday and they didn't want to come out of their rooms because they were watching TV I know my my older people that I hang out with were uh they're affected by what's happening I I I got a email from my church that my church pastor was in the Dead Sea area really with a bunch of like parishioners and I was like holy crap father Hy wrong time to be going tuck in cover [ __ ] yikes so that's pretty scary stuff what is happening right now so um it's it's a tough kind of day like that you got tough news yesterday yeah maybe you want to talk about it um um sure can you talk about it yeah I can talk I mean what's what's the difference at this point I mean it is what it is right so uh yeah we I learned yesterday that the condo association is definitely moving forward with filing um for a declaratory judgment against us and if you're just new to this story uh this is ritual Cape Cod Holly's been a small business owner there for three years two and a half okay yep so um they decided that they're just going to go ahead and move forward with court and um to try and remove you from the space to try and remove the patio but they know that that would effectively remove me so um just oh my God Dan gave me like this shitty Little Wave yesterday like the other day he was like Le flowing the parking lot I pulled in he's like and I'm just like don't don't no don't don't wave at me we're not friends that's tough we're not friends by the way I I'm welcome the other side to come on my show and talk about what their their Avenue is here I'm just not seeing any positivity in this no I really really would like and I mean you even said when we were talking about it off the air like all this could end today if it just we decided that I'll go my way you go yours like whatever honestly like I don't I don't like nobody understands it and like in in like the the paperwork that we've received they're like Holly and her lawyer have been like talks with them have been un like it was unproductive but they haven't been willing to talk so it's like well I mean like if I don't ever tell you what I want then blame you for it being like not getting what I want then who's to blame but it's just like they they're not willing to come and sit at the negotiating table they're not willing to even talk to me face to face they actually there's a new bylaw that says that I have to go to the owner of the condo and then he can go to the association like I'm not allowed to email them that's so frustrating like it's so stupid like all of this is so stupid I know it's just mind-blowingly like ridiculous childish given what everything that's going on in the world that's what I'm just saying like all of this between this the pickle ball courts that are the fight and mash B right now over the noise of pickle ball is upsetting people good morning Danielle good morning saraphina Jeff not the laughter of children no Megan Pearl it's just the small little things that amaze me that people have the time the inclination or the wherewithal to spend that amount of time fighting over minutia I'm just I'm just saying like it's just what I was doing wasn't hurting anybody yeah I you know I'm a respon like I'm like to quote them I'm a responsible business owner and you know we had insurance we were going through the permitting process it literally helped to elevate and bring attention to local Artisans and our Fair like I said it was a really big day for them they made lots of money when they came to my Artisan fair and I mean it's just it's all been crazy and at this point I am so financially crippled um when you take a look at to talk business sorry guys we're going to do a bus sometimes it happens you got to talk about it we're all in it Vincent adultman we're gonna do a business um yes like I am probably down between the loss of revenue from the fairs and then all of my walk-in traffic because I'm no longer allowed to advertise via my A-frame sign um I'm probably foolish and I have a hard time with the signage situation honestly like if you drive up and down 6A there's like those little A-frames all over the place and like it's the same situation in mashby you're not allowed to have any neon signs yet we passed somehow the high school can have one but I'm not gonna get into that match most people most unless somebody complains um usually um nothing is done about it it's oh no it's definitely an issue here in this town oh Big Time a it's yeah it's it's big time we don't even have a hotel here it's post it's post pandemic like just let businesses flourish I don't you know unless they're like having like you know naked ladies outside I mean maybe I don't Sunset Strip sorry like for real so yeah it's just been crazy so you've got that situation going on where you now can't advertise so you're not getting the foot traffic that you normally do do you feel like it's just a system atic attack to get you out because you're you're a weirdo and they don't like you yeah I mean like there's no in in I have I'm a weirdo too so I'm just saying in my feelings there's you know like I feel I'm gonna be very careful about saying I feel there's no doubt in my mind that this was absolutely a progressive um erosion of my ability to do business yeah first it started with the fairs and then because I was vocal about the fairs I feel like I then received a bunch of bylaw violation punishment things including my ability to use a sign including my ability to use the fire pit which by the way thank you to lovely inspector Huck from the Yarmouth fire department um you know he's basically said that it's safe to use um and also the removal of a patio that I mean I have receipts I have permission from the condo association to have installed it it's why would I like it's five grand worth of stonework I put in and invested it's like a leas hold Improvement and I mean it is my feeling that if I was to move out tomorrow they'd be barbecuing on that patio this weekend prob me as just an outsider as someone who is not involved in any of the situation I don't know what the day-to- day that goes on over there sees it also that way yeah so I don't know if I'm just seeing your side or they're just quietly you know hoping that you just go away there I think a little column A a little column B and I think it's really really surprised them that um I'm I'm kind of a [ __ ] braw and I didn't just roll over the previous the previous person that they had an issue with um you know the story that I have heard is that one of the condo members like so she was a children's dance studio and she had booked a children's birthday party on a Sunday and everybody's business hour is in that Plaza is like Monday through Friday 9 to 5ish and it's not residential correct no it's well there's a residential apartment but um the tenant that was in there previous is like he was so easygoing was he was actually wonderful I miss him a bunch um but you know she booked a children's dance party on a Sunday and then um apparently it was loud and the um one of the neighbors came over and like screamed in her face and may or may not have manhandled her stereo equipment and then weaponized the Condo Association and thankfully my landlord is great like so he just let her out of the lease yeah and then I moved in and I haven't rolled over like that yeah and I you know I think they're surprised that I'm fighting it and I don't know what they expected I mean right I mean all this is where my business is all 5 foot eight 220 pounds of me it's not I think it's good though that you're talking about it because she's not you drag her out I think yeah no Mari well Steph won't be buying there no we will not be buying there but I think this is like this is the situation that frightens me a little bit as a business owner that needs to grow into a new space yeah uh I'm terrified of the situations that are out there right now feeling a little predatory um feeling a little bit taken advantage of and you do put yourself out there like this is where my place is and then to have that being taken away from you because you don't fit in that space is is really It's upsetting it is it is um a really unfortunate situation um you know there's I have probably about $20,000 in leasehold improvements that I've done to the space so commercial leases don't work the same for those of you who have businesses who are thinking about going out there into the space commercial leases do not work the same as residential leases you're responsible for any Improvement that you make to the building and it then becomes the property of the person that owns the pro like any lease it's called a leas hold Improvement so if you put in a new floor it's your landlords if you put in a patio it's the landlord right you're improving their space yeah so but it's called and it's but you have to pay for it right because it's for your specific use of the space um sometimes commercial leases also have what's called triplet where you are responsible for it's all the fun of owning a building and none of the I know you're watching thank you so much for joining us this morning um yeah so you got to be really careful about those kind of lease terms um and because it's going to add anywhere from 500 to ,000 a month to your lease there's also common area maintenance um and also if you are going to be leasing make sure you can have a SE at the condo meetings um you know I'm I'm not allowed to go to them because I'm a tenant but that's really like so I belong to a big Retail Group like a bunch of like it's a like a retail learning and coaching platform and they have a Facebook group and um the it's really unusual for a tenant not to be able to go to those meetings because most landlords are pretty absentee when it comes to like they they collect your money and they make sure that tax payments go where they need to go and everything's working yeah usually so I'm like I'm not allowed to go to meetings and the feedback from other Professionals in the retail space who are also leasing in commercial condos they're like that's really [ __ ] unusual and I'm just like yeah I I have a 10 year I like I have eight and a half years left on my 10year lease I have a vested interest in the success of that Plaza I had been starting to stash money away to maybe buy the condo for my landlord because bless his heart he doesn't want like it's he just like this is the only condo of a board that I manage and I hate it like I don't blame you dude because that's not fun it's taking all of that away from you it's not even worth the money at this point it's just nonsense I would happily go to these meetings and like represent myself and my landlord's interest in this space but I am not allowed and if they all decide to gang up on you and weaponize bylaws they can actually if you've not watched it there's a wonderful episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and it's free to watch on YouTube it's about HOAs they're often like so HOAs and condo associations are often weaponized as vehicles of discrimination and it's crazy like that is the one drawback of the place that I was looking at with their HOA and I'm like what if I don't like these people what if they don't like me what if I'm stuck here it is a scary you you have to vet these things before you jump into a space that article you sent me you could like them and do all the things like for maybe 10 years but like if you install the wrong color window [ __ ] you Betty that's like we're done with you like I hope like you thought it was going to be $10,000 windows and it turns out it was $50,000 lawyers HOA does not like that no just [ __ ] paint them God damn it like I cannot let Ted have his bench take a deep breath it's just it's it's so dumb more more troubling news to add to your woes um you're still doing your postcard campaign yes we're so we're still doing our postcard campaign so I have have pre- addressed pre- stamp postcards I was going to say because they just raised the price of the stamp to 68 cents from 66 cents did they well I'm so glad that I bought postcard stamps yesterday you guys exactly you're good to go oh my God it was 51 cents to send a postcard what is it now two cents more Jesus CHR another two cents I can't tell you the last time I mailed something so I'm gonna have to get your postcards and start mailing them out I feel like I need to be helpful in some fashion yeah so other than sitting and bitching I'd like to actually do something for I should have I should have brought them I mean you were providing me a platform that's I'm I'm here for this sing my tale of crystals oh my God we got crystals coming out the goddamn w zooo a lot of crystals I have so many crystals like I don't back they're not helping I don't know well I mean yes they are yes they are I mean this is how you're still doing it like honestly if that were me I would have folded into a ball and crumbled already but here you are with with standing what feels like holding back the sea yes and you're doing it so maybe it is your crystal energy I don't know what it is maybe it's your sound bath healing maybe it's the yoga that you're doing over there and now you're doing live streams and stuff so I loved your Sunday church that was cool yeah so that's with uh Reverend uh Linda Burgess she's a raike master teacher and she is just kind of fantastic um she's my she's I found it very soothing I watched it I loved it she's she's awesome so we're gonna be doing a Sunday witchy Service uh once a month I think maybe more if if we're called to do it more but we did it she was so funny she's like we're having us we're having a service from the pulpit of the persecuted patio and I was just like the alliteration you're awesome like I love that but also I'm dying inside thank thank you you're gasping for air so um she talked a lot about returning to your IM presence and for those that don't know that's deeply connected to the root chakra it's all about like you know who are you in 6A yarmouthport Massachusetts Unit B um they are resurfacing the parking lot yesterday today and it'll be back open tomorrow oh I'm so glad is that because you wrote on it no so like I'm so sorry for the rain the past few weekends you guys but we may have done some spells because thanes a lot it started they were going to resurface the parking lot for the Autumn Equinox weekend because you know that's not a big deal for a [ __ ] pagan shop like for real like so but then it rained and then they couldn't and then the next weekend rained and then they couldn't I'm the only one that's open Saturday Sunday and my my customer base like pulls into a parking lot and walks through my front door so it's not like I have a staff that can just park Park next door and walk over like it's you know so anyway um we may have done some spells but the Spells are over because they're doing it this week um they've provided no signage for people to know that you can just park next door so that's fun really you know the history of it and if you don't maybe Holly can share a little I'm about to learn you son um so I sent this out in our newsletter this week um I sent out a newsletter every week and it's amazing um but there's two huge reasons she loves her work right I do um there's two huge reasons that Friday the 13th is considered a spoopy day and a lot of it has to do with Norse and Christian mythology and then the other part would be the Templar coup which is like I love me some juicy like medieval history um but when it comes to Norse paganism uh the number 13 is where we get a lot of bad luck stuff um because of Loki and balder um so those who don't know Loki's the trickster God and because he was kind of a dick he never got invited anywhere and and the air it's like a catch 22 it is you don't want that guy he's annoying is it's like you're funny at parties sometimes and he was always jealous of balder so balder is kind of like the Norse version of Apollo like the the god of poetry and music and everything joyful and good and fun and Loki was always jealous of him and also he had um he was supposedly Immortal because uh fre his mom fry made everybody like everything on the planet vowed and never hurt him but mistletoe the plant apparently like missed that day slept in slept in that day and um Loki figured it out so the this one weakness yep so the Norse gods the air had a uh feast and uh 12 people were invited and Loki just kind of showed up so 13 people folks um or the tale goes that um wanted guest yes so and then Loki gets this game going because balder is Immortal and like can't be hurt their fun time was like throwing [ __ ] at him and being like haha this is so funny nothing can hurt you let's just throw the biggest [ __ ] that we possibly can at you and Loki tricks his blind brother hoder into throwing a mistletoe dart at him and it kills him so that's where we get some of the mythology of like because 13 people showed up and the 13th guest through a mistletoe dart at this God that couldn't die that everybody loved but turns out could die because mistletoe didn't promise to not hurt so that was that one and then then the night's Templar yep so also we get Friday like so Friday is considered an unlucky day because in Christian mythology um that's the day that Jesus was crucified that's the day that Eve was just like you know what good apples and then it's also the day that Cain killed Abel so Friday's always had an unlucky or negative just in case you're wondering why you give up meat yeah we're all suffering together I don't um it's like the one thing I do do and I don't know why I just do I'm like well whatever we need fish in our life anyway today honestly like it's a good excuse for making fish tacos that's I was like fine it's not a big deal no not a fish sandwich oh my God that's the worst um so and then we have Friday the 13th itself which was the Templar coup and I'm just pulling up the dates of the Templar knights on charges of heresy and blasphemy he made up the bunch of [ __ ] that was just like they're Godless heathens but it turns out he just owed him a [ __ ] ton of money and he didn't want to pay it back and he was jealous now you're yes so the Templars invent like they invented one of the first International banking systems and that's really where they got yeah and that's really where they got um well second to the Assyrians and the Sumerians turns out they they had a pretty good International banking once again don't think that you invented anything it's already been done no but they made it popular right with those with those trig Crusades lot lots of people traveling so that's it yeah so um you know they had a bunch of power in King Phil of France owed them a ton of money that he could never hope to pay back so rather than pay it back he decided to just murder and um it was a huge coup a bunch of Templars were um accused of heresy blasphemy a lot of them were burned at the stake um a lot of them managed to escape and that persecution lasted until they were dissolved by Pope Clement in 1312 so it was a really imagine Five Years on the lamb just to be like all right you're fine now yeah well no they weren't fine after they they were murdered after exactly yeah so Pope Clement wound up dissolving their order and a lot of the um a lot of the uh assets went to the hos hostil hellers there's another there's another Divine Knight order so they got all what was left of the [ __ ] that King Philip didn't take yeah and then um the leaders of the Templars were uh again murdered executed and then some Knights were able to find refuge in other Divine orders and some Knights just just like run away and I feel like I'm sure somebody some of them got away yep and then um you know so Friday the 13th was basically burned into the psyche of everybody's being a really terrible day after that and then the first mention it sounds not great that's not a great Friday no and then the first mention of it in written popular culture was in an Italian manuscript if we just there we go so um it was called the Cento noelli anti which is 100 ancient tales and that was written between 1280 and 1320 but first published in the 1500s uh by some Italian guy whose name I forget but um I love your newsletter though how do people subscribe if they don't like look Massachusetts has the most expensive roads in the country and they have to justify it somehow yeah right and now we've got traffic pattern digging up of mash P so I'm never getting out of here I mean it's so painful every time I have to actually go somewhere trapped for it trapped trapped like a rat actually a really interesting energetic Theory as to why people are trapped on Cape Cod would you like to hear it yeah actually because my husband is born and raised here and gets I call it Bridgi yeah doesn't like to leave here so um we're gonna get we're gonna Venture in a bit to into the spooky woo a bit um so everybody that went to school on Cape Cod spooky woo um everybody that went to school on Cape Cod we all had like the geology um classes like this is how Cape Cod was formed and if you don't know if you didn't get those lessons a giant Glacier pushed up a bunch of dirt into the shape of somebody doing one of these like a six like a whatever inch python a whole Hogan so brother um but when it pushed up a bunch of that dirt a lot of the Sands and a lot of the dirt that Cape Cod is made up of consists of quartz and quartz is an energetic amplifier um for those that don't uh for for all of our Crystal nerds out there um I'm sure they could go much deeper into it um about the energy of quartz but it's an energ it's an amplifier it's a director um and it can also be an attractor of energy it's called a generator Stone and then some [ __ ] dug a canal and so we were surrounded on three sides by saltwater but now we're surrounded on four sides by saltwater that I believe moves depending on the tide counterclockwise which is an interesting um which is an interesting Direction when you're talking about magical stuff it can either uh detract or reflect but um so you've got all that salt water which is also an energetic amplifier like you can use salt water to conduct electricity and energy on top of a sandbar that's made out of made out of dirt that's specifically used for amplifying and directing energy and you have aquifers and a saltwater table right underneath us as well so we're basically a we're sitting on a quartz crystal that is just drawing in all of this energy so all of it like when Cape Cod feels heavy I know so when Cape Cod feels heavy and it like kind of weighs down it's because the energy is literally weighing down on you think of it like being at the bottom of the maranis trench only instead of a water column with all of that pressure on you it's energetic pressure Cape Cod has it's reported to have more energetic vortexes than Santa Fe which is interesting right it's it's a really interesting place to live energetically but which by the way is having the best balloon festival right now now oh oh their hot air balloon festival it's ridiculously beautiful sidebar how much do you trust wicker go up in a wicker basket with a lot of heat seems great I still want to do it though right I like I begged my family to do it with us when we were in Spain and they were like absolutely not because they don't trust wicker they like nope no one would do it I'm like boring you people are boring H there was a great story about 104 year old woman who just did a Skydive oldest woman to ever Skydive she died the week after but I mean think about it I think she checked all of her boxes and was like I'm good yeah bucket was accomplished I can go now achievement unlocked death I will pass through now I'm good good for her seriously I love that so that's the I I love the rationale for why we're stuck here on Cape Cod whether whether it's true or not I it makes sense though that the people that are here tend to stay here and no matter what I just wrote a little little blurb about my going away to a conference last week the amount of Cape cotters that I bumped into we just seemingly find each other in places weird places I was sitting in a um like a business round table with somebody and we were all kind of talking about our business woes in the specific business which is my husband so I'm like trying to be eyes and ears while he's doing like actual learning and taking certifications yeah well taking certification so he can do his business and I'm just trying to like well we have this problem what's your problem and the person in my right was oh she was like wait a minute what and I was just talking about the seasonality of some of our business and she's like well where and I was like well it's in Province Town and she's just like her head whips over and she's like my family's from South Yarmouth I love that they're all still in South Yarmouth I'm the only one who got away but she's like I still come and visit and it was just really really funny that I find these random people wherever I go that are that are cap people is it random I don't know my cat my Uber driver starts talking about how he was born and raised in hyannisport and this is his retirement down there and I'm like oh all right well I mean you know ocean people tend to retire near the ocean but um I mean you ran into a lot of them that's a lot right it's weird yeah I mean in a good way though it seemingly happens wherever I go no matter where I am in different countries in different it's just bizarre yeah it's it's we find each other where we need the courts where is the energy oh Stephanie she has energy we'll go there I swear keep C right or it's the laugh oh saraphina said she survived a hot air balloon ride we'll be fine okay I mean if saraphina can do it then I can do it I guess that's it I love it so the entire month I'm I'm excited about just because I feel like we got two Halloweens so it's an excuse I love seasonal clothing and so I have an excuse to wear all of my fun Halloween things for a full month every single day and not feel weird about it I love that like the minute October one hit I was like in bring out the jumpers bring out the skeletons bring out the fun stuff I really want one of those 12 foot tall skeletons and I don't know where I would put it I saw some cool decorations yesterday when uh no Sunday when we went apple picking in a Kush net and uh they they definitely get into the season but the way that they had stacked the corn stocks up nice and high and had like a pumpkin head it was just really cool that's NE very very creative seasonal Decor which I love that is I think the one thing that would make me move off Cape is like the fall seasonal Decor of everywhere that's not Cape Cod yeah Cape cot's fall is not like I love the weather here like the weather is almost perfect but like the leaves are just like green green green green green green brown facts like there's no like there's no changing of leaves very little color yeah and it's just it's a lot of like put on a sweater in the morning and regret it by noon and yeah yes you know it's it's great but you know I would like to go somewhere like Leaf peep like I'm one of those letterman jackets for sale on their website okay but like what if you get a permanent one though like what if you get a permanent PSL tattoo is that like I feel like that should be a pass for Lifetime free psls hot take I don't like them I don't know why I did have a really good pumpkin spice latte Martini okay at the Starbucks store in New York so it was like the most ridiculous thing but I think I just liked it for the whipped cream that they made with pumpkin that's fair and it tasted just like a delicious dessert so there really wasn't that much pumpkin spice in it and let's be honest what is it cloves it's cinnamon and Nutmeg well cinnamon clove all spice yeah but and it's like in that really good so you have to be careful with pumpkin spice lutte if you either like you make it right and it's delicious you make it wrong and it tastes like a candle yeah like there's no there's no in between like it's and when you go to any of the coffee shops around here um mostly Duncan it it one out of six is good yeah you get that one person who got the right ratio and it was the right day on a Tuesday that was delicious is anybody else like finding this also and they're too good for Dunkin' Donuts which means that they're not going to work there forever so you better get like all the pumpkin spice from know like you can't leave you're the only one who made my coffee right only one who does it right oh my God yeah it's you were ranking pump pumpkin P spice lattes uh yeah so for local I find Lighthouse Keepers Pantry has a really good latte and a really good pumpkin spice latte if you've not yet been um Nirvana has really good coffee I have yet to have their pumpkin spice latte but I've never been disappointed with a coffee I've gotten there oh my God and they Teragon chicken salad first of all yeah if you make chicken salad you need Teragon in it and Shameless self-promotion I got Teragon in Spades and it's going to be way cheaper than McCormick so there you go yeah I'm My Own go on over to Ritual C Cod get your teron it's not even like I'm sure there's magical properties for it I don't know because it goes on my like it goes on my chicken salad and that's what I use it for I'm always looking for something new and to to have Mari who was here earlier um was uh part of the Cap Cod dining at home and everywhere else okay this is a just a local Facebook page it's got like 5,000 followers but I love the recipes and the creativeness of the people on there and I'm like oh I'll do that I'll save that I never I never make them but um they all look so good and I'm did not get better we did hellofresh and got caught in a hellofresh hellscape like we couldn't like we can't quit you hellofresh and it's not because we don't want to but it's because you yeah yeah bad well then they keep giving you the coupons and then you don't go and then it's the same seven dinners and then like even when I was trying to go I was like I don't want this but I have to eat it now anymore but it's here why is it here like it was B it was somebody write a creepy pasta about hellofresh because oh speaking of creepy I was laughing my ass off yesterday when we were looking for a new bed PS being away from our bed and then coming back back to it and both of us having back pain for the last two days I'm like nope it's the bed I'm now convinced of it it's got to go it's old we need a new one so we did the shopping the best part was reading all the comments from the people yeah read the comments in anything that you buy you you might just be surprised by the fun and Antics you have the sun all the time well that's where that's where most American produce comes from is California like we get a lot of our food from California so I don't know I'm like like I'm I'm I'm I'm a little more like okay I know that they're ridiculous but I'm a little more libertarian in my leanings like I would like to trust people to make their own decisions and if you don't want red die don't buy it but um you know there's also the cynic in me that's just like no we should probably ban this because most people aren't going to go they'll Google what what like what star got his butt shown on what internet thing but they won't Google whether or not red dye is bad for you um so this is the society in which we live in so you're not incorrect in that assumption I'm also libertarian doing something but I also see the need to protect people from themselves because guys I love us but as a species we dumb I feel like most people are just tend to follow their sheeple and um it's
