Club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I really Su at book club I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual I just had a visual I had a proud of it hello and good morning good morning Cap Cod and Beyond are you ready for this Monday ready as well for me why did I agree to Monday I don't know you said yes I did no take VES nope none at all none at all we are here we had a busy weekend I was excited to see you yesterday yeah yeah you killed it with your Christmas Market this weekend uh it was it was a lot we we can get into that in a moment but I'm going to celebrate and choose to celebrate the highlights of that yes one of which was Nutcracker yes those goats are performers they really are through and through they're pretty fabulous uh shout out to our friends over at mindful goat yoga Tanya really is pretty spectacular the amount of people that showed up to volunteer her volunteers are amazing to Wrangle the goats was awfully incredible uh my favorite part was throwing the shoe the slipper Clara throw that slipper she was really into it she chucked it she was so excited she was like oh my job is to check the slipper done and done if you have no idea what we were talking about we had the Cap Cod Christmas Market and I last year had asked Tanya hey we've got this idea we want to do The Nutcracker but we want to do it with your goats how about we just slap some tutus on them and then uh we just walk them around while someone narrates the Nutcracker and by someone we mean Stephanie obviously well this year it was me last year it was Bobby and Bobby was a lot he was a lot of stage Direction and I don't think that the goats really loved him as a director interesting I think that they you know did what they wanted to do and that upset him as a director yeah so we had to be replaced and of course it was me of course of course so I got a five minute medal that I kind of took all of what my favorite parts of The Nutcrackers music was and here I am like stitching them all together in the studio like no we'll take one minute of this we've got to narrate it okay I've written the story y truncated the story as to what it actually is and it is basically the description of the Boston ballets nut cracker where they're describing it on their website I'm like perfect that is five minutes that is exactly all we need to explain what is happening here and we just had various little props I set up the little Christmas tree and I put some apples in it we had some hay and we kind of moved them around and smashed the pumpkin during the party it was super fun if you did not get a chance to see it there are videos out there for sure but there's another performance yeah and there's going to be a new stage director it is going to be Cliff who is going to be narrating this because he's like how hard can it be you just read the story and I said you know what you you've got yourself a job sir game on game on Sir exactly doesn't he know by now not to say these things to you because I'm like gonna call him on it what you want to take a job off my plate yeah there you go guess what you're doing next time it's all yours I'm so excited for you so December 8th you will be seeing cliff uh and the goats of mindful goat yoga participating in the goat cracker fantastic does anybody else feel stressed out good morning Miss Mari it is that time of year where I feel like what have I not done what do I have to do yeah yeah that feeling is strong yeah uh the list of so I usually strive to do Christmas cards yeah and uh what I the majority of the time they end up being New Year's cards okay one year we did Valentine's Day cards whatever the family checkin hi guys we are still here my children are still alive here's a beautiful picture of them Happy Valentine's Day I love it so um yeah that's on my to-do list uh I did make a really great card for my car seat donors I love it I'll share in the comments of this thread but um I will show you it was Carson right uh it's Carson and his twin brother oh I don't have it all right I'll show you later um I yes you did already see it yes yes yes it's Carson and auto um and I felt like 40-Year-Old Virgin like taking pictures of my baby dolls like these are my children this is work kids yeah pay no attention to Mommy while she's working this is fine good morning Miss Denise thanks for joining us on the show we've got Jen Christian who also wears as many hats as I do in fact I feel like we just trade them back and forth she's here with car seat mama and also for e forall y so we've got a lot of happenings that are going on um so yeah I love that you brought up Christmas cards because I think a lot of people were purchasing them um making them taking photos a lot of photos with Santa a lot of photos um just in general people trying to figure out how we're going to do this and you and I were looking at this list yes now I have to ask you was the Denise that checked in was that Denise Pressman yes so I have to shout her out we did photos with Santa at her so good right at fleeting moments oh my gosh so I have to share I have to real quick yes um so the Santa that she brought in when I saw what Santa she was bringing in I said those are the pictures we are taking that's the Santa so let me tell you my six-year-old no offense to mashby Commons no but my six-year-old goes in and sees Santa at mashby Commons we come out and she goes I know that was just a person really yep yep she goes because I already met the real Santa oh yes yes you did awesome so Denise thank you thank you thank you for bringing the real Santa to your studio uh shout out I'm so glad that you went there for photos because we had such an amazing experience I got them originally for my son and the grandkids while the grandkids ended up being sick and so I was like well guess what teenagers you're going to go in there with a photo shoot with Santa and we're all going to have matching PJs and they were hateful the entire ride there but once we got there they actually I they captured genuine Smiles on my children's face Santa correct it was Santa it was it was an amazing moment what's up William thanks for joining us on the show uh and Denise Libby is here as well from our repurposed Cape Cod killing it out there everybody loves your your fun retro vinyl clocks do they also are they the ones that sold the fire pokers that had the beer taps maybe maybe I don't I I didn't get a chance to get over there we love we and use their big yardy game that they have with the dice as one of our tiebreakers for our games and they give to us like a lemonade o color one and I was like you guys are sweet we appreciate you so as we're writing out these Christmas cards we saw this don't make these holiday Christmas card mistakes again this year I feel like if you got it out in the mail good for you period yeah I there's no mistake I don't think it matters if you're putting extra apostrophes and s's in like I'm not looking at your envelope going oh the Christians is right you know no yeah how to address it where your apostrophes lie maybe a good idea to brush up on it but really it doesn't matter it doesn't you do a return address a sender address and a stamp and if you can get that far but I didn't even know how much postage was I haven't sent a letter in so long I had to look it up the other day cuz I had to mail stuff for the chamber what is it like 67 cents I think it was 82 no 6 I just used the forever one so I knew I was good yeah yep that's yep how much does this even cost I don't even know the forever one always works yes how do you address a couple is it m m Mister what are we doing with all that how are we calling out families I I think either way you get out a Christmas card and you say it's from you or a holiday card or an end of year whatever right or just a thank you I think it means a lot to people period I'd like to get happy December I'm alive yeah can we send that yes I think I might actually even do that I'm still living over here yep yep with love from ashp with love with all my hats it is our question of the day today is what do you feel like you've got it what do you got left of the year and I was like we got a lot the will to live right so I think somebody just said just live it yes we're going to try and make it for the next three weeks yep that's it and if that is where you are to end the year then that's okay it doesn't always have to be this big glorious Triumph that you crushed this year some people had a bad year yeah yep yep and how are you remembering 2024 bit of a dumpster fire but bit of a dumpster fire but I did buy myself an annual pass to Disney and one six times right right Silver Lining I went on a few vacations yeah not complaining about that no you were a world traveler this year exactly yeah we got three trips in I'd like to think of all the positive things that I did this year but coming into December with so much left on my plate to do I'm like I got a lot today I'm going to be at town meeting I've never done that before that's exciting and scary I don't know if that's exciting is the words I would be using I'm like I've rethought what I'm going to say to people 14 times and literally it's like I've got 10 minutes to just be like hey but then I was like 10 minutes is a long time I was just gonna say I love you but 10 minutes is a long time a long time I don't have to fill it I can give the time back but yeah also it's like how how do I say all the things that I want to say without being a lot yeah like how much is too much for town meeting yeah yeah I'm a lot these are fantastic questions these are fantastic questions but also I want to take that that scary away from it because I would love to suggest that more people get involved in what's going on given the climate of the world given the complaints that I hear all the time that I wish sometimes people would just show up yeah so I'm putting my money where my mouth is and I'm just showing up today to just introduce myself perfect and you know I think that's you've got that going for you this is your first town meeting so they're not you know whatever whatever you bring is going to be a bonus to what they were into I do not know if they are going to be saying that what's up Cindy oh my God it's Jen and all capital letters good morning Cindy the fact that anybody takes the time to write a Christmas card that's everything yes yeah I feel like we're all just struggling to live like you said so you get a card out great right we showed up we're here it's Monday let's get this day going we've got a parade meeting the season of illuminations parade is coming up in Mash B exciting and that well this the first time that like I'm in charge of it I made my husband order walkie-talkies exciting love it I love it I need somebody to tell me station Seven to station one send them send them pause the clowns pause the clowns I was watching the Macy's parade and I was like how hard can this be oh my gosh that's what we need we need balloons listen Chen I'm just trying to get people show up we're just trying to live we don't need balloons well that would be great we do have David Vieira and Cynthia Goldberg will be leading the parade they're the always the town crier and the openers the kick off we're hoping to have a good strong Town presence which we really we've invited all of the Departments and I know we can't make them work on their day off but I would love to see you all out there so please consider joining us depending on how this weather is it's going to be cold regardless I want to thank our hot chocolate sponsors um Dunkin Donuts or just junan at this point and then cap coffee is donating some coffee for us wonderful so volunteers will stay warm we've got a bathroom for everybody to use inside the Library thank you mash library mashby library thank you it's the little things absolutely right a bathroom with warm water to wash your hands when you're dealing with the cold correct and lots of Girl Scouts lots of floats lots of troops we've got horses again this year some antique cars um I've Unearthed a lot of costumes so I definitely I received the Grinch Mrs Claus is going to be in the parade I think Olaf I've seen some other fun ones you never know what's going to pop up how many teenagers have you recruited so far so many well if that football team wins I want them on a back of a wagon somewhere oh they have to shout out to our mashby football boys are headed to Gillette Stadium on Wednesday game time 5:30 I vote winner lose they get in that parade I 100% agree I what a phenomenal season yeah and they coaches has been working them Cody I lost my little Market Helper this weekend because he had to be at practice on Saturday and Sunday wow he's like I'm just gonna tell coach I'm not going he's like no I'm just going because I'm in trouble yeah my 16-year- old boy knows path of lease resistance I'm just gonna show up because I don't want to hear about it later exactly exactly what's up Denise Daniel in Morocco thank you I think that is our furthest checkin fancy I know thanks for listening have so much fun he had Thanksgiving in Portugal and now he's in Morocco well good for you yeah I'm solidly jealous I'm sure it's a lot warmer than it is here in Mash yes it was chilly this morning it was cold yesterday tempers were flaring and I don't know how I stress this we G to talk about it or not going to talk about we're I was called a cow Yesterday by a miserable vendor and I'm not going to name but she was just having a tough day she really was and that's okay we've talked about it before allowed to have tough days but don't be rude and I know and there were two other people that are also part of the management team at lemonade and they were like that's it get like get them gone we don't need it like poison in the well get it gone and I was like no everybody's allowed to have a bad day so I will allow you to have your bad day and if you come back and you're less of a a meanie then you you're fine and we never never have to talk about it again I'm one of those people that will give you that extra chance but also don't call me a cow don't call people names she was swearing up a storm dropping F bombs on everything and like calling everybody out and she was just in a bad mood clearly a bad mood not cool unhappy today at this point in time so I'm gonna give her a one that was your one lady don't make me ever remind or remember you again no like oh it's only 74 degrees w like 20 here oh my gosh boo boo to you sitting by the pool he said yeah rude rude Mari said I sent Christmas cards to a person I forgot had died with a long letter in it oh my God all right you win that's the best Christmas card ever why haven't we talked I feel like you missed so much to Sender person deceased oh they died awkward yep so here I am planning this big parade I'm watching Macy's I did not see that a a troop of people were arrested in front of the Ronald McDonald float which is weird like were they okay so like I have so many questions that's just where my brain goes are we protesting the parade why are we protesting Macy's as a corporation why are we protesting Ronald McDonald as a clown are we protesting McDon like where is this protest what is right what what was your agenda what were the thoughts yeah why was that share with us why was Hoda not covering that yes yes somebody get HED down there 100% it can't be all love and fluff and bad lip sync Tunes I want to see the grime give me the 25 people getting arrested in front of Ronald McDonald we want a show I say Rainer shine can we stop the lip sync it's just I know I understand like I'm not a performer right I understand movie Parts however I'm just saying I love a good authentic right sink or swim be bad go embrace the cold that poor little circus though when I were watching those poor people out there just cold freezing wet trying to do their circus act I'm like this is worth watching because somebody could have an accident good morning Miss Emily thank you for joining us and thank you very much for your patience over the weekend and dealing with a lot of moving Parts a lot of personality she a lot of unhappiness Alice at one point one of our vendors is like you just get here and show up and people are yelling at you and Emily's like I know yeah this is the the tangled web of uh being a manager at this it shouldn't come with it because we should know how to be kind to each other but un we struggle with that still still an issue right I did see that Ben Affleck joined uh his ex-wife Jen Garner and handing out holiday meals very nice I know with the kids okay I thought that that was nice all right looked nice and healthy probably the best place for him probably yeah I feel like that was when Ben was in his prime was when he was with Jen Garner I I just thought it was like a regular they seemed very happy until they weren't and it seemed like it was a himm problem yeah yes it does I just it's nice to see people giving back and and spending their holidays doing things for others well you guys gave out 150 meals it was wild to Mas it was crazy yeah and I even thank shout out to new seberry and thank you very much to Roach brothers who split that bill with us and uh The Cooperative Bank as well but we had every single member of all of the banks of Cap Cod delivering everything with us love that so we we asked for volunteers I thought I was only going to have like nine 30 people showed up it was like I was near to tears oh and Patrice you just took over thank you very much she's like the bestor she's like you team take this take this take this get gone yep meanwhile I'm trying to figure out like where everything is I did really good little sticky things to make sure everything and Cliff helped me with the routes so he got it g very nice I am just gonna start singing if you're happy and you know it clap your hands that's the new tune of the market everything's fine up by yep yep what's up Carrie thanks for joining us on the show Jen Christian is here from car seat mama and yeah it is cold outside maybe you can talk about some cold weather tips for car seats new parents listen up yes Abol maybe you've never encountered this or maybe you never did it right yep uh fully guilty of didn't do it right but when we know better we do better that's what we always say I like we are always learning um so number one rule is no bulky clothing in the car seat so we want to harness babies and kids into their car seats and then layer over so make sure that they're nice and snug that that harness passes the pinch test and then you can layer over you can wear a coat backwards um you can put blankets over top the best thing you can do is heat your car if you're in a safe enough spot where you can heat your car before you get in um that's going to be your best bet because babies also struggle with regulating temperature so we don't want to overheat them yeah um and they sleep better though they pass out s better yeah they do sh just go to sleep just go what's up Ricky just go to sleep please I know uh em poor Emily was exhausted on Sunday because uh Savannah just decided she wasn't sleeping on Saturday no so not only did she have a full day out in the cold but then she was up all night being Mama yep and then just to turn around and do it all over back at it on Sunday oh I know being a new mom is really really hard and shout out to grandparents out there caregivers I know our DCF table was there and they're always looking for foster families yes so I loved that they were there so I adopted from Foster Care um my youngest and I went up to their table and I said thank you so much for being out here it is so important for the community to see you so so cool that they were out loved that yeah well that's what we try and give everybody an opportunity to be out there and doing some whatever it is that you're doing now show your mission yeah while we've got the audience for it and uh we will continue doing it for next year and I can't even believe I'm talking 2025 and Emily's putting together handbooks and just getting ready for the season and we're talking about growing that program it's just yes it's a lot it's all right though yeah well we at the end of the year you're at the end of a cohort yes yes so put speak of hat right take off car seat Mama hat put on E hat so my sweet little round of baby birds are going into their final presentations we have practice this week Tuesday and Thursday um I am getting emails as we speak of their final presentation ah the good old last minute freak out it's like your final presentation I know my daughter's got to go back to school and do our finals and deal with the culmination of your programming this season exactly exactly so we're super excited to watch these 19 entrepreneurs um they're all going to kick butt and take names that's also hard though because there's so many good ones to like figure out who because there's money involved they actually get awarded money Lauren Gloria thank you for joining us from Canada um Lori other Lauren I'm so excited shoot I need to grab my tickets final presentation is on her birthday oh that's a fun way to spend your birthday go we're old now yeah um yeah so we have final there's n there's 15 businesses 19 entrepreneurs representing them um but the crazy part is then we hurry up and flip around and we've got our spring cohort yeah so applications are open if you're an entrepreneur on Cape Cod and you're thinking about a business you're just starting a business you've been in business for a very short time and you just want to learn those ins and outs of business that you wish that you had better grasp of apply come and join the spring 2025 cohort applications are open now efor all.org um and uh applications Clos mid January so get those applications in now find me um I will plug my email in to um the Facebook thread of this um you can reach out to me and get office hours uh happy to meet with you I'll be doing some Library circuits where I go around from town to town and do ask me anything things so you can come out meet me talk to me about eforall talk to me about your business and um get help with the application process yeah I feel like you have to have a lot of touches on that maybe you're ending this year and you're just frustrated with where you are and you're like I could do this for myself or I should be doing this for myself or am I a candidate for this definitely worth checking out I have no idea what I'm doing maybe this is your new New Year's resolution that you didn't do I don't know yeah yeah 2025 is going to be your year started out with eall honestly it was a really good place for me when I didn't know how I was going to put together my business yeah and I was kind of in this space where I should be doing this on my own I these other spaces are not working for me right now with the skills that I have and not only has it grown my my businesses but it it's grown me as a person oh 100% And to be able to help other businesses now at the mashby chamber role I'm really excited to be able to put all of this together and I took mine because we both went through eforall um I like to do like the the Hair Club for Men like I'm not just I'm not just a program manager I'm also a client right it's true though but I took mine from Hobby to business to nonprofit so you really can run the gamut um at eforall and it is phenomenal and the things that I've learned I could create a whole new business but I have the foundation yeah so I know that I can use the skills that I've learned in any of my any of my hats well and that's it because years change people change buying habits change everything changes so you have to be able to shift with what the world is right now and what people are doing so I it's not exactly an easy Club to be in but the support is pretty great the support is so great you will cry there is crying involved lots of crying crying lots of pulling your hair out lots of cursing Jen it's fine I'm us well I had a great conversation a lot of um epherall entrepreneurs are with us at our Farmers Market Christmas Market and uh I was chatting with one of them yesterday I'm going to have a talk with her tomorrow as she's assembling her final presentation because this is like slides this is everything you're working for the culmination of everything uh and it you know it's obviously not the end of their Journey but it's the end of their intensive Journey yes and it's kind of like this is what I've learned this is where I'm at this is where I plan to go yeah here it is what do you think and then they can win some money for this yeah so a lot of them need that little seed fund to be able to grow in certain areas uh and it's just really good to see their growth as small businesses to where they're at right now and and where they're going to be so I love final presentation final presentation is a ton of fun it's stressed but it's fun well yeah just to see where they had their one two minute pitches to where where they're at right now and talking intelligently about where they're going to be yeah yep it is an exciting but also stressful time and I think back to that final pitch of mine that I freaked out that I quit Kai was like you're not quitting I'm like I am quitting you can't stop me yeah she stop me if you don't say I quit one time at least one time during the program doing right what are you even doing why are you here what's up Erin we thank you so much for being out there yesterday and the day before that at our Christmas markets and she's already on to the neck she's like what are we doing for St Patty's Day oh my God like girl but she needs mama needs to breathe I know she's you know planning she's got some life stuff going on and she's knitting and she you know you're a crafter you're a Creator you need time yeah you got to have only one human exactly what does one human mean but it was so nice to see people sold out then they're like great now what am I going to do I'm like what are you not going to do go enjoy your life take this season off I had one of my entrepreneurs um from a previous cohort that was at your um at the Christmas Market this weekend and she was complaining about the cold and she was like you know I don't even want to be here this morning and I told myself like we have goals and that's one of the things of eals we talk about goals a lot and she's like so I sat down and I made myself new goals and one of them was to go to four markets and so this weekend is two of those four markets there you go so she's like I got out there I got a text from her yesterday and it was after I saw her and she goes I'm so glad I came out I got a private order from a corporation so you just never know you just never know exactly got to work it and it is so much work and it is a lot of bandwidth but once you get through it yeah it is so invigorating and it gives you that energy to keep going really just does so keep going entrepreneurs I know uh you're in the final throws of things right now and you seem so stressed out you guys got this well because when you're doing the presentation and then also trying to work in your business and then throw all the holiday and real life stuff going on I will say for anyone contemplating eforall that is probably one of the hardest parts of the program and I was just talking with Lisa about this the other day that you get this weird feeling of I love this program I love the cohort I love everything I'm learning but I can't freaking wait for this program to be over so I can just work on my business because we do tell you it is like taking on a part-time job coming into eforall because you are in class five hours a week plus you're meeting with your mentors plus you're putting in the work that we are teaching you and then you're trying to work the business too um so it's a lot and I think that that's one of the things is you've got to work your business yeah yeah no joke balance when do you have time right I told you this morning I'm like I just feel like I'm doing add things there was some guy putting nails into the ocean floor I know right for each business check on your entrepreneurial Friends check on your entrepreneurial friend they're probably breathing into a bag it's end of the year it's trying to figure out what this this end of time is going to look like and how am I going to start building my 2025 planning for 2025 exactly yep well I know a lot of our designers have already done first quarter of 2025 yes because they have to plan for it yeah y I'm so jealous to you if you're that person good for you just good for you planning ahead weird it's it's a lot we have got like I said the Super Bowl is coming up this week for Mash P so that's our Wednesday that's exciting we talked about our auction it is open right now so if you're looking for some cool gifts that you might want to get for a decent price and also support the mashby chamber in all of our endeavors whether it's the lighting of the green we had uh our tree lighting our rotary lighting yes yes beautiful we Carol Sherman was like we had so many people I couldn't find parking there was so many people there ready to watch this thing be lit up so that made my heart Happy I think everybody's looking for a little magic this this season so get out there I will say so I have a 17-year-old and she did um friends giving this weekend with friends of hers and the mom was saying I've lived in mashby 20 22 years and I've never been to the tree lighting and she said we went this year and it was pure magic so thank you guys yeah that's awesome so cool so I task you with getting out there and doing something in your town whatever it is there's so many opportunities y exactly find the magic do you recommend it if you have a full-time job and then do your business part-time go H tour yeah yeah it can be done you're gonna pull your hair out you're gonna cry but it can be done two people that have done that yeah it's a lot yeah and parented kids through it as well you know I think we forget that I think that that's just the job we have to do and then we take on the jobs that we want to take on but then so I haven't fact checked it but I saw on Tik Tok this morning um I love that evidently any woman in Mexico over the age of 64 has been granted a pension from the government what for doing all of the unpaid work that they do as mothers and raising men where do we find this money can we magic this fund up please yes yes please sign me up for that package I would like that pension please it's my time to shine what's your retirement plan moving to Mexico do I get the pension if I just do I get the credit if I did it in the states I would like this very very much please I'm nice I'm a really nice girl they mentally challenged and can't tell how stressed I am also very much me yeah and me like when I don't feel it I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine I'm like everything's falling off of this car what's wrong oh yeah you're stressed Cindy Stephanie and I both know you and I think you you are a great candidate yeah for uh the spring cohort so I really hope that you know you get through what's up Gabby I saw you had a beautiful Thanksgiving with your family very cute your daughter oh she's beautiful good job mama what's up Kristen great dog mama uh I'm loving your babies on um Snapchat is where she communicates all of my friends in their various social media things and I'm like I try and make the rounds I don't do it well just because I have a lot going on so let me ask have you jumped to Blue Sky no I can't I can't I can't take another one no I just can't no threads is like there in the background I don't even know what that is yeah X we're on and I don't know why I'm like I just don't know we we touch a lot of things but we're we're primarily Facebook yeah that's that's where I'm at too I'll go on Instagram because I have friends over there can we talk about the scammers constantly tell me more so with our markets with all of our events anything for lemono any of the things that we've got going on at the scammers I've got two tickets to this I've got tickets if you want toy I'm like no you don't there are no tickets there are no tickets to being outside you trash bag so I just sit there every morning I wake up and I call it the reports reporting you reporting you fraud fraud fraud fraud cuz somebody's going to click on it and say they bought tickets to this and then they're going to be mad at us and had nothing to do with that right I see the sweatshirts all the time the people that are like oh buy this sweatshirt and it's like that's not even from the corporation right my child made this support I'm like they didn't you don't even have a kid who are you no scam fraud fraud every morning sitting there reporting harass harass harass you're a harasser you are you are I start my day being a tattletail that's what I do yes exactly I say it all the time during our trivas I open it up with we got two rules no cheating if you see somebody cheating tell on them I love a good tatt tale yes absolutely and then I reward them I like stitches get scratch tickets let's go keep it honest who wants a free round of Keo I know right so someone's always like I'm telling it myself I'm like that doesn't count that roadblocks that got thrown at you yep well and this is this is also a great story of here we have this Cottage Baker who wants to do more with her baking business so she applies for eforall and at the same time makes this leap to buy a dessert ATM machine from China and has now gone and is opening a storefront I know freaking mortar very exciting she's a hard worker St and she won't be told no so will not I appreciate that I also me too me too she said soon Randy said soon all right we are very excited for it somebody was shouting your Praises yesterday we had another um entrepreneur from Doo and she's like I saw Brandy on your show I got so excited because when you see someone successful and I love the fact that they're in sort of the same business but different yes um kinds you know what I mean because we all service different segments for customers um but I love the fact that you both do the same thing and you're both champions of each other's work that to me talks volume about what Epal does or what just being in these business groups does right because we're so supportive absolutely absolutely there's and that that's a hard part to um kind of navigate I remember feeling that way in my cohort because I had another baby centered we had a a birth Doula and I remember talking to my mentors early on and I was like you know I feel like there's like you know who's going to have the better baby business and it's like no no no no no no like this is about it all like and we're both thriving so because you do different things you do different things and even if even if Brandy is is making gluten-free treats and you're making gluten-free treats you both have your own customer segments right she might be doing it in Yarmouth you might be doing it in mashby and you know you're you know everybody is getting the service that they need yeah I I love it good morning Carol John thank you so much for coming back he actually came back to the market yesterday for chocolate Nana oh oh I didn't see chocolate Nana there yesterday yeah she was there yesterday I know she was bundled up in the back but on Saturdays like where is she she's not here today she'll be here tomorrow but he came back for her because they found her at one of our events and loved her chocolates yeah and now uh thanks a lot you gave my family a problem now I'm addicted to the chocolates they are good they are so good definitely a treat um yeah I came home with a bag of treats that I hide I put them beside my bed when I do my reading or whatever my my at end of day you're harassing harassing band my when my reports and then I have my little snack that is all mom's yep yep 100% I know it's there I have a sweet tooth okay I know it's not the best and most healthiest thing but it's it's my thing yep exactly and uh thank you very much to our Bakers for supporting that habit yes 100% so I have to say I watched a Netflix documentary over there it was all about over consumption okay so crazy so they were talking about how iPhone took away the headphone jack yep forcing you to buy airpods y then they make the airpods so that they only have a 12 to 18 month lifespan you can't get in and change the battery so you have to buy more right and they said that 90% of everything you've ever owned still exists on this planet yeah yeah and I was like I know we're gross we're wasteful we're so wasteful oh hurt to watch you and I were looking at the stats um 316 million pounds of food wasted for Thanksgiving right wild I know uh I do speaking of Thanksgiving I want to give another shout out to Off the Grid in sandwich we had them catered for Thanksgiving nice what a treat yeah yeah so good so much food so good everything was wonderful heated up great and had enough for leftovers so I like that I think I might even consider that next year because it's a lot of work I highly recommend it I highly recommend it I did not want I'm working right up until and then I'm navigating kids and therapies and activities two businesses fine everything's fine EXA you you get it exactly exactly so I said it came across my Facebook feed and I said that's what we're doing because my husband who works in hbac um was on he's gonna be busy all the time he was on call this week so I said first of all I am not cooking with the chance that you're going to have to leave yeah I am not cooking and entertaining your family with the chance that you have to leave I love your family love family however don't leave me I'm scared just kidding um and so then that came across my news feed and I said that's what we're doing perfect and so we catered it in and it was perfect and then the night before Thanksgiving my youngest woke up and vomited all over oh no but the good thing there is a silver lining the way that they packaged it they packaged it in portions of five y so I said here you go you go take this to New Bedford yeah in the morning I sent him off to go do the New Bedford delivery and then we had the rest at home and it worked out wonderfully everybody got fed even those in New Bedford and we will do a family dinner redo in there you go exactly we've got Christmas I saw one of the best memes it was like I have to see you people all over again I've had enough for the year ours was small very intimate our Thanksgiving was over at like 3:30 I was in bed by like 4:00 warming myself up and then I was like oh wait the lights got to go watch the lights traged myself out I know did a couple laps around the rotary I was like oh this is beautiful okay byebye and we're done here and scene yeah yep exactly I did it just storing up my power we're coming into Christmas party season yeah we're coming into like crazy season please be careful call an Uber if you've been vibed too much call a friend don't do what you think you're going to do is just run the gim please don't I'm just this time of year stresses me out because a lot of people are just not their regular selves are not doing their regular routines you know I just like chocolates and dogs and all kinds of other like things I'm like stress me out this time of year because Invincible yeah yeah not not a good not a good combination oh I know so we've got I think six of our DJs out on Friday working oh my God gosh I know Cindy's even covering a party oh my gosh wow I love it Cindy is uh definitely in there she's like oh throw me in for a DJ and she's an amazing DJ DJ Sin d h love it it so cute but she used to bot parties in Nantucket and here she is like running you know her her female Empire over there for kitchen countertops and bath and spring of hats uh yeah so she totally knows what's going on um so we've got so many great activities and things going on and I just once again want to stress just be mindful less demure yes even though it's the word of 2024 yes it is while you're out there uh celebrating and uh just be safe please take the extra time for it I just get so nervous especially with our parade coming up it's in the dark yep just take that extra time time I guess yeah take your time that's the other big one right and oh oh went Christmas shopping this weekend and can we just stop the entitlement please like we're all shopping we all have shopping carts like you don't have to like aggressively turn your cart like out of an aisle as I'm coming down the main walkway like we all like it's like road rage in a store like is this really happening like I was like just get me out of here I'm done yep kindness always wins yes patience and kindness patience and kindness is what we tell the kids apparently have to tell the adults now we have to tell the ad adult yes um I do want to share too um so this year one of the first grants that car seat mama got was for um donation seats and so those are car seats that we can use for families in need and um there was actually a family that I was connected to that was they were sent to New Bedford and New Bedford connected them with me um knowing that I had donation seats as well um I got to fit two car seats in this weekend and there are two little kiddos on Cape Cod that are safe in that's awesome car seats Isn't it nice when you get to see like good works employed you're like that this is why I do what I do yes exactly like I love I love doing all of my my fittings and my safety sessions but you know when there's that family in need you know no child should have to be going without a car seat you know and that's so so important um and so the fact that I have you know a a cache of seats available um for those families in need um also a lot of the state insurances will provide car seats for kids something for you to be aware of if you're like because we know they can get expensive Abol but they don't have to be expensive no they don't nope you can get a Costco not Costco but Costco um car seat from Walmart for under $100 and it is just as safe as you know a grandparents cargivers second seats in your families for two cars I know it it Stacks up for cost speaking and speaking of consumption right like grandparents don't buy these loud noisy musical instruments for kids ask the parents hey do you need a car seat bring on the drums bring on the drum set yes yeah we're going to be those grand yeah I can't wait I can't wait I can wait but that is good do you need an extra seat that is something that you can gift yeah yep absolutely and especially like first Christmas those babies are ready to transition from their infant seat to a convertible and convertibles can be costly you know again you can buy one for under $100 but many of them are about 2250 um and then they can go upwards to 550 depending on the manufacturer that you go with you don't need that you don't need that you don't you don't it's it's just you know any seat that is sold in the United States by a reputable retailer meets the same safety guidelines so it doesn't matter if it was $100 or $500 what else uh how do people
