vintage tees so he's got like really old school basketball stuff and oh yeah I'll be getting something yeah I like that this is this is gonna be this is good stuff hey Marie how are you and Nina is going to be there and she's got some of her resin art and she has done it up for Barbie she's got some hot pink you know what charcuterie boards going on I'm killing me I'm going to end up going there I know that I arrived yes bright pink everybody's wearing it they're playing it at the wealthy Drive-In yeah and Legally Blonde is the oh yeah movie really yeah yeah makes sense okay so everybody's all Barbie I heard it yeah I'm not gonna say oh there's a great there's a great uh Tick-Tock skating in the dude he has you know he's dreads and he's like you know it's kind of he's like a little hip-hop low hip hop he's he's going to the drive he's going to the movies to see the movie and it's like there's nobody in the parking it's like three in the afternoon he's looking around nobody's there and he's like ah so it gets out he has a Barbie hat on that's walking all sudden this mustang pulls up what's up Chris nothing we go man uh some movies we're gonna see what Oppenheimer Barbie I didn't take off and all sudden they Park and they all hop out of the car they got like Bobby backpacks yeah they're like awesome 3 30 shows yeah let's go I love it it's funny man yeah I'm absolutely gonna watch it I don't know if I'm gonna go to the theaters to watch it but I'm gonna wait the the Kate McKinnon Barbie I can't wait to see oh yes because you know she had an interview she's like you know we all had that Barbie yeah that they cut their air they do different things to her and then she was that way forever 100 I did so many awful things to my Barbies see for us it was Charlie's Angel no it's not that fast I cut all their hair and wiped off their makeup have them because they were so you know they were supposed to be these you know amazing you know acrobatics and and you know skills so we were we would just toss them up and have them doing flips that is a hilarious ended up in the in the gutter yeah Sabrina was in the gutter for a good season we finally got her out and like one side of her because she was in the gutter it was all dark and the other side of it was still that like white pink it was this is a man who laughs at cartoon violence and also loves horror movies so Lord knows what boy Sabrina I'm changing their clothes we just popped their heads off Rachel I I listen I I didn't have a Barbie I had a GI Joe actually it was Cape Verdean I did okay pretty in GI Joe well I feel that now I don't know what he was back there he feels I said it's not really dark he's like I'm like it's kind of like in between yeah but they weren't great with skin color back then it was either like extremely horrible Aryan and or extreme Brown there was a crayon that nobody was like I was like I feel like what color of human is this this is not even a human yeah they're so much better they even have great skin tone color Band-Aids now they're much better about colors oh so much and one is Shandy how are you hey Deborah so yeah we are here it is Friday we are very excited for it is Barbie day everybody's burmified and I no matter where I was yesterday everybody was decked out in hot pink so yeah Nina's bringing the Barbie core one and Michelle and uh we're gonna have fun on Sunday JT's gonna be there so swing by with the kids yes it's gonna be fun for all ages there is absolutely something to do I just have a feeling that Sunday's jamming so come on out well it's gonna be hot again yesterday was 88.90 here but the humidity we were hanging out with kids in the Heat yesterday yeah I'm telling you he was at camp with the kids yesterday oh that's a different kind of heat good morning shout out to Oakcrest cold and sandwich those kids Angel and I were out there giving a little positivity and playing some music it was it was a it was crazy that's nice how exciting is that I never had that at Camp ever the one memory I have of going to Camp when my I begged my mother to send me the camp finburg I begged her because she was always home I'm like oh can I be one of those kids that you don't watch me all the time exactly I'm not getting I'm not getting into trouble right and you're seeing you have your thumb on top of me I need to go do something and I had a helicopter mom I could tell you I didn't like that either so I begged her to go to camp finburg and I was so excited my first day of camp and I'm sitting there by the water and all of a sudden I turned and one of the camp counselors hits me with a rat tail because I had a horse fly on my face and he stop it it hit me in the eye and I was out I didn't go back to Camp ruined my home camping experience I was so excited you went there I went to Fairway Day Camp I got pushed off the off the dock hit my head on the steps going down next day no I don't say some guy standing over me that's all I remember listen so you kids have a great experience when you've got people like JT and Angel showing up at your Camp bringing it and nobody's pushing you you're not getting out of the rack sale a horse fly did you know right did you go to Camp no you yeah no we were poor no you know the one thing that we did did happen that I was very thankful for is there was this Motel on our one of our major routes put your face in that microphone yes sorry route 38. there was the Concord motel and behind it it was great because you had three dog you have um the small dive the springboard and the high dive and it had us water slide and it was this wonderful Olympic pool that was epic it had a big pool they had two tennis courts and a shuffleboard course I did a motel like that well there's the thing you know they had this they had this rate for the summer where you had a specific tag that you put on your bathing suit yeah and you went there for the whole season and then luckily my mom wasn't working at that time um she didn't work until we were like junior high high school so she brought us there like every day and our best friend from high school had two kids that were around my sisters and my age and the four of us were like brothers and sisters and we always had fun together so fun so that was that was just what we did every summer that sounds way more fun yeah dark yeah I mean I would just tan because I was in the pool all the time I just went right face yeah nice Pace yeah I'm a burning pale kids it was red or redder very nice yeah and people were like oh my God were you just on vacation I'm like you know now when I go I'm like no I went outside no I'm Italian yeah hey good morning Michelle technically not Italian but I say German and Mexican make Italian yeah they well okay either way because it's Trevino I just say Trevino I don't get all ethnicity I like that I mean come on turn into Giada we love those people parmigiana I mean how many times you're gonna how many different ways You're Gonna State it does anybody have that friend that all of a sudden will bust into that accent we do Ace I love you to pieces he's our afternoon guy but anytime he mentions the facts that I'm at tomatillos he has to say it like that hilarious and I first out laughing because he was just talking normally he's like are you with all the seahorse today and I'm like do you have to do that that thing oh my God we we had we had a girl that we we met like over the summer she was living with a friend of mine and I did I can't say the people's names because it's like too much questions and the girl goes oh my God you guys gotta meet my friend he's so cool he's from Jamaica his name is Geo we're like okay it's just awesome geo geo geo from and we went to uh and we we went to um a bar one night and well together she goes this Geo right there and he turned on I'm like that's not jail we're like that's our friend and I'll just say blank and he's like what's up man I'm like dude you are born down down the street in Hyannis you're our friend like who you know you thank you like you have no accident his accent was sick listen Mark oh I don't know what's your game basically basically it was like that you might as well said Marco like Kevin and I'm like Geo what's up man we all just dapped him up that's all it was left there that were like dude that's a good friend oh yeah oh other things too unless you run your game we'll talk later I think when we're a new company and where the few people were wet you will you want it like you pick up sometimes you want to pick a slang or you just like I want to be just I changed my name yeah but if you're going into a French Bakery and all of a sudden Janet's going awesome it's a croissant Janet you've never said it that way yeah I know I had a somebody I just met and we went to pee town this was years ago from people that's what we need to do we're just going to pretend like we're different people because that'll work the only problem is not the only problem is yeah you go somewhere like that then you end up drinking yeah and you get a little bit too forward and then they the person you're with breaks the whole score right yeah they call you by your real name and I'm like yeah damn it it ruined everything exactly yeah we went right back into reality come on yeah now I gotta leave like Wedding Crashers somebody got paid a tab but I'm not gonna I'm not gonna leave before throwing up on you oh God yeah I used to shopping alone we used to go to load and Taylor's to go shopping on when I hello you know it'll be fun yeah awesome yes oh yeah you see you had no idea what I said and I would do that Matt and I would do that full then we'd play around have accents and go shopping see that's how you get me baby what's that tell me you buy 10 30. You Don't Need No Reservations no no no no no no no no no no no so we've got Unity day coming up oh she lives in Clarksville I'm sorry she works at Nashville and lives in Clarksville bang you just want a t-shirt that's awesome okay go ahead Tracy go ahead no Unity day yes August 4th talk about it you oh you're in the day yeah we got the whole thing with Touch a Truck we have um Boston Police Department cooking up the grill too the big ex-girl going on and um it is on the seventh year uh that's exciting oh my God yeah it's absolutely awesome so you have the town of Boston where people of action um in in the Boston Police Department all different Kiwanis all different organizations I remember when you guys first started that I think Jesse you Andre and Brian Andre all came into the studio where we were working at the time that was just really exciting Jason oh my God it was so much fun yeah and uh you know it had been years seven years I'm feeling aged right now my friend and you know what Andre and um Jesse uh so I put that together and then started making some phone calls to all of us and we were like yep let's get on board and um it's been great we've had a tremendous group of people in our community that do so many wonderful things and this is in every town I really we we are blessed as much as the drama that goes along with having a small knit Community like this we also have the fabulousness of the positive people and the ones that are people of action that are doing things in their Community to make it a better place and again we're like we're so open to so many different people and they do you know we have the backpacks that we do at the end of the school yeah I mean at the end the summer right before going back to school that's at the rec center um we're already talking about back to school because they saw the back to school shopping stuff and I kind of got excited though yeah you're excited about that and I remember like do kids go is the shopping really as heavy as it used to be no right well because we also have that shoulder season that second summer that we have here in Cape and you know when you get that whole boatload of clothes that are for the winter we can't wear that stuff until like this is true November December this is true yeah yeah like yeah and if you're buying for little kids they've already outgrown that perhaps yeah yeah the back to school Rush is not the way it used to be good morning yeah it's it's not I used to have like all right you need four pair of jeans and some shirts new socks and shoes can't touch those I mean yes with the new sneakers everybody you always got to have the best Footwear if you can whatever and if also you're struggling there are so many Community places for you oh my God to be able to get new sneakers uh backpacks like JT does a really great job with that so just please reach out to any of us if you need direction on how to get any of that stuff or you know a family that's struggling because it's not getting any cheaper to live and we totally understand that right you are dealing with a situation where your kids are coming back because you know they're through no fault of their own are losing our housing situation right I see so many people all the time looking for a one bedroom looking for this looking for that you know we've got a family and I'm like that is awful it is crazy and I have friends right now call me like JT and I know you know a lot of people that I'm looking for like I got like six people my God I know I know even finding room for one human is difficult and with a reasonable price whatever that is good morning Jackie Marta Jeffrey thank you so much for joining us JT rtb we got a fun panel for you today and uh I have Christmas in July that I have to do an event for Omari can help you she's watching all those Hallmark Christmas in July oh my God sorry allowance you're getting called on the carpet with your Hallmark problem oh awesome good thing a Hallmark is a golden girl well you know what right now my I have a lot of girlfriends that cannot take the negativity that is out there because sometime yeah it is totally their happy place you know it's like romantic a little bit it always ends with the happiness it's a girl meeting a farmer guy that has been lost and lonely without her and she needs a break from the city and they're meeting each other I just wrote a new one for you Hallmark however it works season four I think of when Paul oh my God I loved that show bring back the Felon Lori Laughlin well because they couldn't say when the heart called right so they're like playing with all these things like where does Brenda go at night oh my God we all want to know hilarious Mara she said I don't have to think in the guys about a girl so cute listen Hallmark is dangerous because it doesn't let you leave in the back room yes it doesn't let you leave but you know who's on there yes and then what's his name Jack whatever from General Hospital still alive and kicking not bad looking all of the Teen heartthrobs um are now on a Hallmark Kansas cameras you already know so if you're done your heydays are done then you transfer over to Hallmark you know it used to be Meredith Baxter Bernie on Lifetime and now now it's all Mark move over Patrick Duffy who was that I don't know Aquaman was uh what's his name it's the um love that show it was way back so we're talking oh I don't know I thought it was Patrick but oh you might be right because he was also on Dallas oh yes he was or maybe that's maybe that's what I'm thinking that whole Bobby Dream Season yes the whole season the whole season yep in the shower yes but what what this is what happens when you two to get together because of thinking I'm like I remember I remember the news movies it's TV shows and we start dropping one-liners and everyone's going what the hell are they talking about when they are for you when the word [ __ ] was used on TV for the first time how jarring oh he knows Alan Alda Mash oh actually I was not thinking that I thought it was it could have been but I'm thinking it was was it all right so sure it was because I thought it was thinking about this last night oh seriously yeah I totally said it empathically to him I thought it was Stephanie your face fell there you go that's not my first time when the two women had to fight in the pool there was like um Morgan they did that and that was in the 80s but Nash was in the 70s oh okay then next time and yeah yeah uh I don't know to call this guy a son of a [ __ ] and that was the first time I ever heard that ah yeah you know and in the 70s it was very light-hearted I was like wow the FCC remember the first time I saw child abuse was on um was on good times and it was when Janet Jackson played Penny and she uh and she she really knew that role yeah it actually did and she had her mother was was burning her with an iron and I remember that I didn't remember this yeah Penny the whole thing the whole audience oh Dynasty black yes Mari it was what dynasty yes something spice wow quite a crowd this morning like I know I've I've just got the best panel on Earth there you go oh my God hi Lauren or uh Laurel uh I don't know if Laura no I don't see Lauren in here or Kai or a Seraphina all right now they'll pop on at some point I'm sure good morning good morning Nat um yeah let me know if you're around guys because apparently there's a surprise to be had here yep I'm looking forward to it morning sethy what have you got planned for the weekend oh how was Bear Week by the way yeah bear week uh it was interesting yeah yeah it was kind of low-key there were a lot of guys and I don't know some people who used to come don't want to come anymore because they think it's more of a big you know kind of party Circuit week yeah um but you know you know there are parties there's always something to do you don't have to go to all these different events that's what I love about Province Town the most yeah absolutely I mean you can do bike trails and go to the beach you can go to a party or a club or whatever their [ __ ] you know their focus is and then you have tea dance so there's there's always something to do Maria says that Hank wanted to know oh Hank when is it now um I couldn't find it up fast enough because I was doing other stuff when you guys were having that day but I was thinking um uh Chloe Davis her her uh queen's English dictionary oh you should get that for her yes all right so there is one there is one a dictionary perfect dictionary she she did an amazing job on that I love that there's a lot of there's a there's a conclusion coming up for that book Seraphina suggested a gated English dictionary for for Hanks hi Wendy okay yeah that's awesome yeah yeah so we'll get that for Hank um so back to Bear Week yes I had to work that week I was working remotely and I had the condo to myself which was really helpful and I invited some people that was not subtle We're not gonna go We're not gonna go there knives out but Stephanie wasn't the only one who canceled or came and then had to leave early no that was anyway that's my whole week was it was it a drive-by it was a driver oh um we'll see you later we're on our way to Maine yeah oh I know I snuck away with the fam because um well I paid for it because I was out in the sun for the first time ever and I burned so badly that my whole face has been sloughing off all week that is gross you're right it just happened he's like a well tanned up like cinnamon bun our question of the day today is how much have you paid what is the most you've ever paid for a concert ticket oh my God good I know something it's a rock of a Hall of Fame it was over a thousand dollars I'm not gonna tell you how much it was um totally worth it it was a six hour concert Prime performers wonderful sentiments uh except for the drunk lady behind us oh my God she was the worst she was the worst she's filling wine on my back that was that started off then hooting and hollering then she was heckling the performers yeah you got to go you can't do that knew nothing about who was being inducted only the some of the primary people why is he talking it's like that's because he's being inducted to you dumb bimbo um excuse me I think my shoe fell in front of you it's like I looked down and her shoes were right underneath me and I'm like I can't I don't know I don't even want to give them back to her I don't know I said maybe she'll go away I just kept waiting for security comment they never did see however she got those tickets please if you know her take note do not give her anything also if you spent that kind of money on a ticket why are you gonna get wasted and not remember a thing it had to have been and then they were that were banking stealing people's programs don't be that person at a show don't be that person you were talking about the talented people from New Jersey okay then we have the old entire other side of the Spectrum which were these ladies hilarious we've got it all in New Jersey that's like when you see a cave kid acting a fool somewhere else in public and then you're like oh God please don't say where you're from please don't don't people do not identify as a Cape Coder please don't do it yeah well we are coming into the final weekend of the fair speaking of Cape codder haven't gone yeah well I drove I don't have a choice yeah oh yeah yeah you have yeah wait did you go or you just because you're because you live somewhere within 20 miles I don't want to say well I don't want to live anymore yeah you gotta drive through it to get into my house you'll see Stephanie's face on the tent that's them go see I want to go to the Stephanie I laughed because I had a friend send me a friend sent me a photo of my son yesterday uh which made me burst out laughing because it looked like I I gotta show you the picture I wish I could share it in the chat right now because it just made me absolutely laugh she said I spy with my little eye a man-child and oh yeah here's my son on some flying Contraption of some sort that I'm sure I paid a hundred dollars for okay yeah oh yeah you did you actually did there's no way we were talking about the price of it and I felt really bad there was a new Mom and she went on social she went to a townie page and she's like I'm just wondering if the 15 to get into the fair includes rides I'm trying to budget for my family and I you know like that's just a poor little lamb walking into a Towny page ready for the slaughter it's like wearing socks and sandals and you walk in someone's gonna say something to you hello foxes I'm right here I brought a baster um this poor woman was a few word I felt so yeah who knows what happens over this house or whatever it was it was strong enough to punch a hole into your world and take your daughter away from you she holds it tight she knows she just thinks like a child listen Portland didn't need to deal with any of this and if you don't know what we're speaking of um we just went into an episode of the Poltergeist welcome yeah you moved us but I forgot to move the bodies Stephen not yet I'm sorry man okay well I understand all right man thank you so much thank you announced everybody that was beautiful that was beautiful oxygen where's the oxygen mask it's not deploying from this oh but you know you can't you can't leave the conversation without talking about the amazing acrobatics of JoBeth Williams had to go through so bye God and the old the Quaker underwear and long t-shirts yeah now who's still alive from that yeah it's just Craig T Nelson right Joe Beth is still around okay yeah yeah the Quaker's not he was sick actually he was sick during the movie do you know that he looks like yeah he's already dead but then he came back from what was it what was that TV series on ABC the coach played basketball yeah it's pretty Nelson yeah he came back not the Quaker the Quaker oh the Quake oh all the way when I when I yeah when I want to get people I'm just like I said let me in yeah exactly that's horrifying to me right now walking past the house yes where he's singing I didn't sleep for weeks when I was a child nothing remember we were talking about Friday the 13th yeah and Wendy and her husband showed up at um Disco Night with Angel and I in Wellfleet great time so fun oh my gosh so fun so many people up there was awesome yes you did have a free monologue this morning it was a bonus you're welcome thank you Danielle laughs uh so let's see what else is going on for everybody yeah I'm trying to get a vacation in here this summer we blocked off a certain amount of time but I'm waiting for the tsar of the bank book to let me know if we're allowed to actually go anywhere however my mother's coming in town my mother-in-law is already here I just like to talk what you need to do is have cbdt to everybody even if I hide in the camper and everybody thinks I'm gone and I'm just right there run but you can't using my pond kicking open the door saying shitter's full like I'm just ready to go I'm gonna try and hide in my own space at some point this summer I promised myself that I would give myself at least a few days of doing nothing right just completely detaching I've got like three books that I want to read I have goals that I want to accomplish and it's just not happening right now yeah I'm thinking about a staycation sometime soon yeah I need it we'll see what happens I've got too many deadlines right now and we're in the midst of trying to hire is anybody else going anywhere fun how old are all of you oh Stephanie how old are your kids right now oh my teens listen I have a senior in high school this year yay yep and a freshman in high school this year yeah and the Freshman looks older than the senior yeah so my child at the fair I got a photo from one of my girlfriends identify him there yeah he got some money yesterday but now I said well it's time to pay the piper oh yeah because once you got a little bit of money guess guess what my friend needs a babysitter today so guess what you're doing there you go boom good morning that's happened Pam look at that yeah I asked my daughter to clean we talked about this yesterday on the show I had you know a contract that I didn't want to sign and she did nothing by the way and now she's off camping with her friends payment you're right I I agree earning money you're gonna pay rent exactly I see dirty dishes do your own laundry I said this is being put in the bedroom on the bed those were the two things when I graduated and stayed yeah um is I did my own laundry you know and yeah which is fine it wasn't a lot but it was something right you know because I was still trying to figure out discipline structure absolutely come on Jeremy how are you I know that children are leaving the nest later and later because it's really quite unaffordable out there at this point oh yeah or they're leaving you know everybody but also I feel like there the work ethic is just not there it's not so many I'm like why do I see so many kids with free time I want to know why I want to know why I want to know why I shouldn't see you if I'm off you should be on the other side of the counter or if I'm like if I'm off I shouldn't see you next to me buying stuff but when they come home it's like your job's not done your job in life is not done you're still breathing and you're still walking upright hard dishes there is laundry because this looks like don't leave piles yeah you know you still have a job here we all have jobs yeah whether it's getting paid or just being something you know you want your place to look sure yeah right and if you're like I didn't do anything then you know what nothing should be when I bring a paper plate this is [ __ ] we actually we see this sometimes when we had all the kids at the house playing sports and all that paper plates yeah exactly it's trash and I mean when the kids left when they were leaving grab a bag from downstairs everybody nobody should come up here empty-handed that's it in the beginning you know my son was like yeah dude I'm like hey do you want to clean this up later well it's also teaching them good habits exactly the birthday boy is here at Thanos happy birthday happy birthday Kim thanks for checking in my daughter is too old for a local service my son works illegally so did I I worked under the table at the rest of the folks come to the table I got pinned I went to the fair I thought I had the most money ever because I got paid under the table by this guy I can't see who it was but he paid me well and I was I was washing dishes because between Hustlers they're not Hustlers sometimes you can think of out of the box but it is getting harder and harder yeah and stuff like that yeah under the table because Uncle Sam's watching even though you know Uncle Sam's watching you when you're sleeping in taking a shower exactly get out of here well like for example I feel like we were raised sort of in that toxic hustle culture where you just grind it until you make it and I think they are being better about self-care and doing the things that you need to do for balance however I think we're going in the opposite direction there was a new article that came out talking about bed rot and the laziness in general because people are calling it self-care but it's the lies you tell yourself when you're like oh I'm taking care of myself I'm relaxing I'm gonna have a me day but then your me days turn into me weeks but I don't need a second job because or a third job or a fourth job because now I gotta drive my kid to my kid's job my kids getting money you know what I mean it's not even an opportunity class for you yeah you know what and I can't same thing I'm like hey I'll pay you to do this now sometimes like they'll all I said was I don't want to walk walk in the house after I get done working and have you clean up and when I told you you had eight hours of cleanup so now I don't want you to do it this one this is what we used to go through um now I stopped cleaning I don't even say anything I walk in I stop from the laundry that you know somebody's feet have been on all day because they were I was just about to do it by the by the warm kids don't even pretend they just walk away they're like because they know I'm mad and they'll let me finish the task yes and walk away because they don't want to see it yeah they know it yeah I'm still stuck in with the rides what you should do is when they ask for a ride do the Uber yeah how much it is and say all right I'll charge you 50 of this yeah oh I like that if not do your Uber yeah I like that show exactly lazy and Nancy I used to Uber drive so I would actually sometimes go to their event or go to practice take them do some Uber rides while I'm done and then oh my God just you clean out the car or you need to do this and do that but it's yeah you got to set the tone yeah and every time we went to dinner yeah absolutely yeah say thank you Uber thank you Uber yeah you guys eat people sit in the middle of restaurant thank you Uber well we've started pouching it even with my daughter who has the ability to get her license and is choosing not to because she doesn't want to drive because she's lazy I feel like it's just because she's lazy she could have any concerns I don't think it's I don't think it's fear I think it's just the amount of work it's gonna take that she's just like also she's got friends that will drive her around now that's a problem so I said you know what now she's paying her friends to take her to all of her activities and I'm like wonderful yes where is my check I missed that you should write that out you get to write that off Stephanie talk to your tax person totally you'll be able to write that Optimum lazy teens how much do I get for those on my tax day you're the money guy I think the rate went up from like and getting paid I've heard some places they're like guys like I'm paying 15 to 20 an hour plus tips I'm like dude what shift can I do I was listening to a podcast the other day and it was talking about the culture of tipping at this point and where we are good and it was a barista and this Barista has a degree was this was a plan to have a side hustle to pay some extra bucks but he ended up making an art out of it and he really loves the whole thing um I forget what word he used and I immediately was turned off because he used the word and I was like because it was just one of those I know things I'm very smart I'm a learned Barista CeCe Bloom knows everything yeah she feels things but it was talking about how now when we swipe it takes think out of your tip and it says 20 25 30 tip or like some ridiculous percentages do we feel like that well I'm also a Tipper right yeah however I think 25 30 and to have it there they know what you're putting down as your tip is when you're handing it it's not a problem for me but what I have a problem with is the fact that tipping is allowing restaurants businesses and the likes to to not pay their people what they're worth right New York is moving to a model to remove tips completely and pay their people a livable wage pay their restaurant workers pay everybody 30 40 bucks an hour into a few restaurants around Massachusetts that are like we do not tip and I I loved it when we went you know granted it was a twenty dollar espresso Martini but it was at the beautiful Starbucks that roast the B it was the whole Ambience of it right it was the most delicious thing ever and it didn't matter who was behind the bar because you got the same service they're like all right I'm gonna go on a break I'm gonna go do this and you we were all well cared for because they got paid a livable wage without tips to have to hustle to have to to not have to do that your service your treatment was the same for everyone at any point no matter what and it I saw the camaraderie and the teamwork in the restaurant because everybody was getting paid the same you're not having Cooks making one wage and then having waitresses berate the people in the back because they need to make sure she gets a tip because she makes more money than they do because she lives off of her tips and restaurants and and workers are are not getting paid the same so I was just curious out there what we thought about tipping culture should we be paying people more of a livable wage and less of the tip situation and tip when we want to tip because we feel like we need to hey Mark good morning good morning T thanks for joining us it's just a curiosity Factor they're they're testing it well in places like New York and it's going over well and I just didn't know if we could ever have that situation here on the cape would you pay more money to not have to tip as long as it was fair yeah yeah yeah that's our thing right it has to be fair because they don't do that in Europe no it's not included in the price right right that's why some people when they were tipping right right or they don't tip here and then we're like how rude of you but they're like where we're from we don't tip right so they're they don't know the culture they're thinking that we you know odd people get you know paid like that also yeah but it's almost like there should be a hand you know a hand guide for people I don't I really wish we would just adopt a worldwide scenario and this is what you do things cost yeah certain things everybody should know like I think you were heading up you're saying hello Yeah right you already know what that is so why can't we Implement some things like you know where you are and this is just what happened or maybe restaurants can be like you know we don't accept tips here because we do this and just put a sign out out front or maybe it's on your website yes something clear so that people understand the system in which we're working with here people don't read people don't read like they used to no well some people can't hello and they're running stuff in the morning absolutely get it out Steph save a safe place there's no safe places here not my house and again I'll be out at my house I barely made it here you can come back in my house all the way I'll go well yeah all are welcome every room's full I'm sorry but not you know oh you're welcome just not in my house imagine like whenever and just just Cody like I'm A New Roommate yep he'd be like okay that's great bring your own blanket though your mom told me I could stay here I'll go get you an episode I gotta sleep with you okay we're making it work around here okay yeah what you got to do yeah exactly you sleep at one end of the bed I'll sleep with the other you can put good night Ma just make sure you clean your feet I had a hot boy I had next to me that used to and certain people cook for the other ones that came in and for a couple of years and then they banked the cash most most Americans is uh I need my own room we're weak too many expectations around here yeah limits two minutes that's it all right so uh t t is on with us right now if you wanted to I want to know your surprise oh you want to know my surprise oh yeah before we leave it what we talked about well I think you and Serafina talked about yeah was my lovely Ackerman acronym and then Serafina mentioned that she was plop adjacent right and I thought that was wonderful and then the fact that Kai went and zoinks yeah I was like that's awesome I made t-shirts for the three of you oh my god Papa Jason's hello I'm like that's why I had to work okay I get it thank you I was like I got this message from watching me like watching about a minute 50 and go in all that what what all right so plop a Jason I will catch you up to speed which is a plop okay rtb and I were sitting outside of tea dance okay and we were watching it happened to be Memorial Day weekend which is dubbed as it's not officially baby Dyke weekend but people call it that okay so I just saw these fabulous fabulous lesbian women all sitting around a fire pit and like jewelry and like they were just like the beautiful people once again we've talked about it I think Greg called Greg Hiller calls it the dink dual income no kids I got money I'm loving my life this is the best so rtb just looked over at me and matter of fact was like oh it's the plop I said what he goes the power lesbians of Provincetown that's awesome she goes well I feel like I'm plop adjacent hilarious this is so she will definitely catch up with it later so we got shirts made first time Sarah and also Lauren we were all absolutely dying above the block that is very I like that well RGB loves his acronyms Rich the bear and I've got JT Jonathan Thompson so I'm with I'm with the acronym panel today you really are I am you are and that's it so I'm Papa Jason today I love that you are fabulous rtb I was there and I'm like I'm gonna it's so good I'm very excited and he did it quick yeah right well you're about you've got merch too we got merch and stuff but yeah but I'm like I know it's so hard we have so many things going on they're like it's like oh do you have a shirt I'm like oh yeah I do I'm like I'm sorry I'm like I'm in the middle of like nine thousand you know when you're just like kind of like a one-man show in a sense yeah but now I have people I have my my friend Michelle helping me out awesome there and you know and I got my girl helped me out yeah you stepped it up in the video Department Ryan like this kid he's this young kid Brian is on my on on doing the videos and production teams yeah and it's good and then I you know I spoke at um dispensary a couple weeks ago which was so if you're watching the gym we have this whole thing coming out of um some old school history with uh JT's Chronicles and in this whole new uh show that's gonna be coming out so he's actually part of it so resetting one and two just came out the short videos excellent yeah so you like that like and some stuff coming up I do yeah I like I'm liking the reels that is very much enjoying your production value thank you and I love the fact that you started working with Ryan I think when he was like right out of school yes um I just hired somebody right out of school and I'm very excited to see them and it's like it is a lot of work training someone um when you're first starting your business and then you're hiring people so now you got to make more money to make them money and yeah right it's it's one of those balancing acts that he's working on and and you know and he's like I'm like dude like I'm still you know working on you know getting JT Chronicles up to another level yeah so but he like because you're not profits right and he loves what I'm doing so he's excited so but the thing is about kids like that that come right out like they're so driven and so and especially if you know what you're doing that they're pushing so he's pushing me to do more he's like all right so this is our film day so here we're gonna we're gonna do about eight videos I'm like okay yeah I mean like he's like I'll be at your house at eight more eight in the morning and I'm gonna do boom I was like okay so I'm gonna like have my things lined up go so that's great for me because I'm beginning to be more structured and you know and I have that my direction yeah and organized like I was but now I'm like now you really because now it's like dude this is not it's funny but I love that you're using um young people to be able to let them show how what they can do RGB you're fabulous like that you and Daniel have always championed Young Artists young community members he's got a Scholarship Foundation for his husband and that is finally uh grown talk about that a little bit so that's exciting um we have an endowment now that lives in perpetuity um we raised a hundred thousand dollars wow but we needed a hundred thousand dollars in the bank with bu so their summer theater Institute which is a six week summer program okay we give we give someone a scholarship oh that was awesome and uh so if you're in the Arts and it could be any kind of art you don't have to be a performer you could be a producer you could be a writer if you're interested in sound if you're interested in into like choreographing or writing um all of the kids collectively decide what they're going to do and they create this and it's it's a large group of of high schoolers and they dissect them into about four different groups and those groups decide who's going to do what and what they're going to put on stage and it's great they go to different areas of Boston like The Institute of Contemporary Art they do a Museum of Fine Art and they go to a couple other things and they do some other exercises at the University and they culminate all of that experience into a performance that I'm actually going to go to on Friday August That's so exciting yeah and I picked the scholarship recipient this year because it's nice to see your hard work yeah awesome we've been giving it the past five years where I've been paying the scholarship until we raise enough money now we have the endowment solidified so now the nice pick the person and I get to go and attend and meet them and I follow up a recipient four years ago she just graduated or their Bachelor of Fine Art as an actor at Emerson College amazing very nice yeah so that's beautiful and you did that you helped you know in equity in in someone's life where they're actually pursuing something that they had that opportunity to experience at bu and she talks about our experience at bu all the time and she comes back to the performances yeah so these are people that are dedicated and real interested in they take it seriously I love that I have a person in my in my space that says you know the the things that you do uh are are not it's not um altruism isn't real but I definitely it's it is it it is though I feel like the things that we do the positive things the positive energy the good things that we put out I'm already taking in the joy of seeing you benefit from it that's my payment as far as I'm concerned absolutely so they're putting it out there 100 I've already been paid for seeing the happiness on your face by doing that or being around you or seeing you grow and I think that every single person that you see in front of you right now goes out of their way to give those opportunities to young people goes out of our way to bring those things to people that just need it sometimes so if you're struggling out there I want you to know that there are people in our community right now like the ones that you see in front of you that are here for you if you need um something anything reach out and ask us because we're available for you and we are right here on social media you can find us and reach out to us with any need that you have and we can at least direct you right to where we can help you yeah that's what I was going to ask yeah you know that's the hardest but at the same time it's like we're all struggling in some way and there are opportunities where like I tell people that when I give somebody a if I give somebody something whether it's an opportunity or a lead or something like that I just tell them like just be sure to pay it forward yeah because you have that up you got that opportunity make sure you just continue to spread that into the world yep you know that's why I dedicated 10 years as a community advisory member with the community health center yeah you know I put in that time because I I believe in that out and people you know mentality yep it is so whether you are looking to Branch your arts and you're looking for a direction in that space please reach out to rtb's Fabulous uh JT with his positivity that train is coming to a school near you to a place near you motivational speaking nothing's too big or too small so don't think you can ask anybody to say oh they probably don't do that or they probably well this is too small for them no everything please you don't know closed mouths don't get fed and you can see all three of us in person we'll all be at knock about on Sunday our Makers Market JT is going to be there on the early side right around 11. it goes on until two and we've got so many Community makers Artisan Crafters baby out with us 13 Lake Ave on Sunday Maker's Market at knock about which by the way they do fabulous things for every single Community member that we've got we've got non-profits coming in basically wonderful non-profits that we're supporting so we've got to give a big shout out to knock about who's been really fabulous in letting us do all of that stuff and being such a community champion for everybody here anything else that you want to talk about before we leave everyone for the day happy Friday by the way yeah well I do I also want to say though on the you know for Unity day yeah on August 4th also we have the dunk tank Inflatables that's gonna be there so bringing the kids like I said there's a touch of truck also very exciting I love that um there's also an awards ceremony for John Reed um it's also input by uh and Tony Shepley so and also the highness Public Library um is taking the stroll over to contribute to the community art wall and um First Fridays is from six to
