saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book club I really sto at CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual a proud of it hello and good morning thank you so much for coming over grab that microphone put it up to your face and let's chat oh with my very white voice oh my God so what happened I don't know I just woke up and I had no voice and this is like good my kids loved it yesterday they're like what's going on with Mom it's like Halloween it I mean it's something I wasn't it was like the Divine something I wasn't yelling at them I let them run around feral oh see that is that is part of being a parent though that I think that nobody talks about enough that you actually have to let them do that sometimes and you have two very busy boys they are quite busy so busy yeah they're two and four they're absolutely adorable they're the light of our lives but um they're also the biggest pain in our butt yeah absolutely that's that goes with the territory every parent out there is shaking their head going yes we know this we understand this what's up Miss Ashley thanks for for joining us on the show this morning she says hello ladies hi so I've got cat sedron here not only are you a a mom but you're also a a business human and boy do you guys work hard yeah we've been doing well Chris has been doing this for over 20 years believe it or not and um he started out a high school and we built our construction business and we came here 11 years ago and we just hit the ground running we didn't have kids we were just married so this business was our baby and we've done pretty good with it pretty proud of ourselves yeah that's amazing being a selfstarter like that I I was never out to be an entrepreneur I kind of jumped into it with uh with both feet upside down in 2020 as the pandemic began and I'm like all right well I'm gonna have to make this work you're just going with it and that's what you do and it's like you know you take these little steps and in the beginning you do whatever you can like we were plowing yeah right and we were in the middle it was like 200 that huge winter we had all that snow I remember we were plowing at like 2: in the morning and I we were stuck in the entrance of our complex and I laid down in the snow and I was like I'm never getting up this is where I'm gonna die I'm gonna die in the snow there is something to be said about where you start and the jobs that you take just to keep you going for that Patrice good morning my love thank you for joining us Gloria Christine great to see all your faces I know it's Monday and we're a little bit late and behind on everything but thanks to me no it's not you it was me too it was just one of those Mondays where I just couldn't get out of my way my dog was annoyed by me she wouldn't like her walk was real real slow today I'm like come on I got things to you don't want to kick her across the kitchen I know my husband decided that now was the time to move a mattress down the stairs at 6:00 AM um you know sounds about right and I'm recovering from my weekend of horror we had a great day at the mash B common we saw so many great costumes I gotta tell you it's one of the things one of the events that I absolutely love for Halloween every single year and knock on wood we have a really nice beautiful day every single year the Sun was shining there I know there were like a million kids a million pets in their costumes shout out to our friends Ashley over at Hot Diggity in the mash B comons she always does um like the cutest for for pet competition and they're awesome in there the amount friendly of work that our dog owners put into those costumes I was thoroughly impressed like I am so glad I did not do the judging on that one I'm like here's the microphone you decide I'm not involved what's up Hank Hank is back from his vacation and lunch break will be on this afternoon if you want to listen to us here on Lemon Ado you can join Hank good morning Miss eron so we're there and there's kids and there's costumes and it's just it's such a lovely lovely day so um prior to that I've been working on um cleaning up our camper to bring to the farmers market I was like it might be cold for the Winter Market wouldn't it be nice if we had a warmer vessel that we have kids volunteers could get in there get warmed up headquarters yeah get a cup of coffee just so cute I love that I figured it's just sitting in my Dy why don't we use this as a mobile office for us that is so cute I actually love that so I'm in there and you saw the video and if you've not seen my little video I'm in there cleaning and I'm like up on this cabinet and I can't see fully into the cabinet so I just did one of those like Mom swipes in there and as I swiped this mouse like jumped I thought it was alive first off and I'm like my husband came running in he was inside the house and he heard me scream so I'm surprised I have a voice today I thought it jumped at me but really it was just so old and mummified and like hard a flat like a yes it was Flash so gross so gross so we are like wiping it into my face and I'm like I need a break of that I can't do that Duty anymore just for a little while it's like CR you know the screams in which you call your husband for the things that you don't really need them for but you need the support want them moral support I need the support or just to do the nasty stuff yes exactly come get this it's grossing me out that's what husbands are for right so yeah that that was my Saturday yesterday I got to go off cape and I saw that a friend of mine got tickets to he's a season ticket holder at Providence Performing Art Center so it's not always that he can fill the seat that he goes to yeah and he had an extra one and he goes do you want to see shucked and I said I actually do it's it's a musical about corn I didn't know there was so much to talk about corn it is really witty and very very funny but seated next to me on the left was this woman that is clearly an upper echelon theater goer this was not the show for her she was why did she go to it exactly she was so grumpy and unhappy and anytime there was a risque joke or something that was borderline you thought was really funny hysterical I'm there laughing out loud did you know me I'm not quiet and she just got smaller and quieter and the lips were like pursing and I was like oh this lady is not she does not want to be here today the disapproval was so bad y I'm sure there I'm sure there's going to be a lay Miz or something that you be able to enjoy with your art pass but Lady it's the maybe should have been in Boston Performing Art Center right like Italy is that where they do it right if you want to go take in an opera there are better places for you what's up Liz hey Lauren Jackie Nate thanks for joining us on the show we've got cat sedron here today and uh so maybe you can talk about just all the things that you are are into at this point in time I mean being a mom and how old are your kids they're four two Yep they're four and two um my hobbies include rocking them to sleep not giving them melatonin every day it's so hard no I've been getting back into reading good yeah like I've started reading again through horror of course because you know where would my anxiety be without a little bit of horror pour it on yeah it is the season that's why yeah so I've been reading some more um um you know we've just been chugging along with work we we like to travel we've got a few trips planned yeah so you I love that you're traveling with the kids when they're young I think it's so important that they get comfortable that they get comfortable with being uncomfortable and kind of shaking up their script a little bit we've always traveled with our kids and people always were like you are you're crazy it's so important I tell all my friends that have kids I'm like for your own mental health you need to bring them places like take them out and if people look at you who cares honest to God right like one of my girlfriends I'm so proud of her she just had a baby um her baby's what like two three months Taylor She's the cutest little peanut and my friend Kristen takes her everywhere and I am so proud of her absolutely they need to be involved it's such an American thing um to not take your kids places to get babysitters Europe everywhere there's kids in bars there's kids out there all all day all night when um cliff and I went to Iceland there was stroller parking outside of the restaurant they left their kids in the stroller parked outside the restaurant like in a line a bunch of them yeah outside unattended in the cold there's your kid they bundle them up but the cold the temperature is supposed to be really good for the kids to sleep so they let them sleep outside I think they they say it's good for their immune system yeah so I'm all for it it was wild to me to witness at first but then and I and can tell you this as we've traveled with our kids extensively uh overseas where they treat you you and your family so well oh yeah they love kids they love families they love seeing they give you special treatment they're really really kind about it and they give you so much extra time they're really really nice about it they really appreciate kids and they appreciate families which is really nice because here you can get like we've taken our kids to like Davos like you know we take them into Boston and we we don't stop I'm still going to get my espresso martini that's it wherever we are so exactly you can get bet your butt that I'm going to be sitting you know at a restaurant with them and they've always been so good but you get so many looks yeah yeah absolutely I think it's just important to take them with you you recently went where did you go last me and my husband were in Florida um we went for a few days uh just to get away just me and him that's ni yeah it was really good he's super good about it um and you've got family support yes I do yeah my mom my mom and my dad were watching our kids so we were so fortunate to be able to get away last year we went to London and Paris for 10 days I remember when you were like planning on that and I was like what you're taking the kids no God no not to that there's mommy and daddy time yeah sayar that's awesome though I mean well I you were talking about just being Greek and I think that that's that's a whole thing it's it's a big we've done a lot of events we've worked with a lot of Greek families on the cape and I I love Greek people I think that you are very wonderful very involved and very much gonna tell you the way it is well we're very uppr that's honest to God I think that's like a core thing in who you are you have to be honest it's hard sometimes it really is but honesty Integrity it's literally the only thing you have in your life that you build and that you can keep on your own you know what I mean yep and without your word or your integrity you're nothing you're not wrong about that what's up Pete hello and good morning to our friend Dave hagner uh one of our volunteers from Habitat for Humanity Trevor thanks for joining us and good morning Miss Eva Cat sedron is here and we are easing into our Monday yes it's actually a really nice start yeah yeah this is a lot of fun oh I'm so glad that you were uh answering the call nervous you what exactly are going to talk about I'm like I don't know what the day is going to bring cat she's like I was like I'm going to cancel she's like well let let's not yeah I'm so glad you didn't I was like okay let's do it all right I know because AJ was like am I gonna come on I said no cat was gonna cancel but she didn't and she's here so we're gonna have some fun this morning I did I know I'm really pumped about it you said you were most recently in Florida where were you we were in Disney we're Disney adults you went to Disney as grown-ups without your babies I love Abol love this we rode all of the um all of the roller coasters all the stuff they can't do we had all the drinks we stayed out at night we went to the Halloween parade yes which I got bullied at what yes at Disney how my husband's gonna be so mad I'm talking about sorry Chris we have to get it out therapy today I am literally so obsessed with this so we were sitting there and this lady comes up with her scooter and she just puts it up on the sidewalk I'm watching Hocus Pocus I'm having a great time y it's over we turn around and I sit on the sidewalk she's like excuse me my grandkids are sitting there I was like okay like there's room next to me like we're fine right so I sit down and she goes you're really just sitting there I was like lady like I don't even know where your grandkids are I I never said they couldn't sit here I just needed to rest my back I was like they're kids they're gonna watch the damn parade it's fine they can be in front of me there's there's no problem so she goes I'm gonna run you over are you kidding no no I'm dead serious she said she's going to run me over so I was like the happiest place on Earth but you know what I didn't move I cried the whole time but I didn't move you're so like me I I'm Petty I did not move the whole time I say there cried but I was still not gonna do it nope I didn't her kids sat there I sat there and you know what that bothers me Eva and I had a similar situation when we were recently on a cruise for her 60th birthday we got to sneak away for the weekend and uh there was this woman that came over and it was this huge circle sofa like monstrous could seat 30 people in this area right correct in a common area yes and so we just walk by and Eva goes oh that's great what a what a nice area I'm saving all of this it's one woman and she's like stretched out I'm saving all of this and I was like girl I almost want to sit in there just because just to bother you so so much we weren't gonna sit over there we just thought it was cool as we were walking to the pool you're looking at it that was it I'm saving all of this I would have sat my butt right I really wanted to I really wanted to but I was like we didn't want to but it made me want to I'm Petty I would have had a seat people like that it makes me absolutely insane Lisa Jara what are you doing for Halloween this is um my my sister-in-law who goes 3,000 miles an hour at Halloween she's always got these elaborate Elastic Plastic makeup face things that she makes her costumes are absolutely insane terrifying down a um eye contact color changes and like fullon costumes It's Full Throttle Halloween for Jara oh girl you didn't see my pics I did not yet see I'm very much looking forward to that after the show I will definitely check that out her and Danny I love you both uh and I miss you you're going to have to plan a date and come visit us please I would like that my daughter is living in Salem right now she's a freshman at Salem State oh my God that's amazing oh she's living Halloween well she's really experiencing it for like the first time because there's nothing like Halloween in Salem so she just called me yesterday and she's like I'm waiting for it to be over I'm I'm ready cuz she definitely loves it but oh yeah it's been and she's one of those empaths feels people's feelings things so it gets really a lot for her when she's overwhelming in crazy like that well the crowds like you can't even do anything like going out to get a cup of coffee it's like the summertime here you go out to get a cup of coffee and it's like a 45 minute ordeal you know like it's nothing simple anymore right right we did the Haunted Happenings for a little bit and I was just like oh I can't but you will see me in costume throughout the week we've got trivia we've got music bingo we've got a new karaoke contest that is starting so Curtis one of our DJs here at lemon Ado has been at House of hatchets doing karaoke on Fridays and I said wouldn't it be fun if we just did a quick contest for a little bit of money so calling all singers $500 karaoke contest it's a four-week contest you got to be there each week to get yourself qualified and uh $500 to the winner oh my God that's actually pretty cool just come and sing I know the perfect person to ask to go to B oh yeah yeah good well let them know they can win money bring your beautiful voices down to the house of hatchets and it's a nice early evening it's 8 to 10 that's good right like get in get out we're not going to make you be there all night long come hang out and enjoy it oh good she sent me pictures in the messenger I'll be looking forward to that saraphina good morning Ryan man much love to you cat a how sweet Tom Alexander hello thanks for joining us and Lauren welcome to the show it's Monday morning we're here with our c coffees you said this is the first time you've gotten a Duncan in a long time yeah and it's I'm really actually pleased I'm a coffee snob I really am I know same and I enjoy good coffee and I was like crap there's there's no Starbucks around I didn't have time to make it this morning um I had to get Teddy ready for school and everything and then I stopped at Dunkin' donuts and I was like I'm gonna try it but it's really good yeah it's like actually T coffee when you rest it for a while then when you go back you're like oh it's not as bad as my mental brain put it well my mom said it was like the rinsing the coffee mug she said their coffe is like rinsing your coffee mug at the end of like the with water and that's what it tastes not that I'm fearful of ever getting a sponsorship with Duncan but but it's really good if you get their lattes and other ones then it's not so bad shout out to you Carrie matus I know you work really well with the with our Duncan j1's we get Dunkin Donuts j1's every year yeah yeah they had the thing up that really cool so they checked in with me my my Jamaican girls have been gone now a month and they're like they just sent me did you have them summer yeah I've had Duncan girls for the last three three or four Summers no way so this past summer we had two girls from Jamaica the summer before that was the two girls from Kazakhstan they they they weren't they didn't like us I tried a little too much they were not super friendly and I don't know if that was a cultural thing or not um the year before that we had two girls from turkey and the I loved them they were like so cute they loved coffee they brought us Turkish coffee so good isn't it delici oh it was amazing with little Turkish Delights and they were like would you want me to read your coffee grounds they like showed us videos of their dancers they have male belly dancers did you know this no I had no idea would been on this train a long time ago male belly dancers existed but they do apparently and now it makes me want to go visit Turkey just to see them in real life so we when we go to Greece you can see turkey it's like a bol rid yeah it's absolutely stunning I that's on my list so lemono we are doing a cruise uh coming up in May it's going to be a quick fast cruise it's on Virgin so it's only adults it's promises to be like the best food we're going to have but this is the gear up to our big long European Cruise so we're going to do the aan I know in 2027 so I'm really looking forward to that so it'll be a little bit of like um de brnik uh Greece and uh I'm in Montenegro so like a Boop to Italy a little bit uh but it's on my list we're we're doing it well see it's hard because like everything is geographically close together in Europe but you don't get to experience a lot of the culture by moving around so much so when people say they're going I'm like well pick less places right and spend a little bit more time there because then you get to know what like the lifestyle is like you're not running around you really get to enjoy the Siesta MH that's a thing I really enjoyed very much when uh I my girlfriend was that her 15-year-old nephew I like we'll just take him to the bar with us it's fine Hey listen when you give 20-year-old babysitters the key to the castle you should know what you're going to be getting no at 15 and we lived in Greece for a good amount of time were young even in the summer like we were there for three months I spent my 18 when I was 18 me and my best friend spent three months together in Greece that's amazing you can get in so much trouble but it's so fun but just to absorb the culture the way that they operate how they grow free shop it was the little nuanced things that when you're visiting for a short amount of time you don't see but if you're there for a lengthy period you definitely absorb that and I love the fact that everything shuts down in the afternoon and then you'll see guys in full suits on their way home from work with an ice cream gelato and you're just like I love this it's just slow paced the days are longer but they take breaks and it's just another kind of shift like literally everything shuts down and you go home and you nap you eat a huge lunch you go into food coma and then you wake up and then sometimes the stores clo open in the afternoon and sometimes they don't yeah right you're like we didn't feel like coming back so we didn't yeah basically it's what happens Lauren says I agree I quit coffee so now when I have it it's a treat and I appreciate it more yeah yeah yep exactly and like they don't do like the fast food stuff everything's literally like you go and you sit and you have a cup of coffee yeah even the bars in like the coffee bars in Rome or like you go and you order a cup you might stand stand drinking it but you learn patience it's a conversation that is Up For Debate currently as we are voting in a short amount of time as we're talking about question number five and that's our service question yeah and people are threatening that if we vote um no on question five that um that's going to be better for us if we vote Yes on it then we're going to have a more European model of service where it's a little slower we're going to have less people it's going to be less attentive I I don't know I don't know what the right answer is for that but 75% of uh restaurant workers are saying we don't need this no I think you know I have so many friends a lot of my close friends are in the service industry and have been for many years like it's their career Y and they can't do it's got to be no for question five yeah I'm just really looking forward to all of the disgusting signs gone from the side of the road everything like both it just needs to end and the amount of junk mailers I get like I'm getting the same one I are you sending it out do you even I I got the same one four times I'm like it's so wasteful here I am like the rec the text messages oh I haven't gotten too many text messages my husband gets so many he's like another one another one I'm like like how did you even get my phone number when did I sign up for this I know that is bizarre I know so for me it's the paper mailers I find scary everybody does have to get out and vote yeah it's important absolutely um I was we were toying with doing the vote early and and I'm one of those people that's just kind of a little bit nervous about doing that I feel like unless I go that day it doesn't take like they're going to put it in a locked room somewhere and I'm you're going to be forgotten about lock key I know it's not real but this is my mental space I'm like no I have to do it that day or it doesn't count I know that's not real um good morning Lisa my bestie's cousin is in Greece his friends are like the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding that's us and and she also says I have to erase texts three times a day yeah it's a lot I'm ready for it to be over it we're almost there yeah we're almost there not that I'm trying to fast forward the seasons because this is the portion of the year that flies by in seconds we're already GE November 1 is coming this weekend it's just it's mental I'm not ready for it I am looking forward to having my daughter home I am looking forward to having a little bit of Thanksgiving and maybe to have a little bit of a slower period of time even though we're not here at lemon Ado slowing down by any means we have our Cape Cod Christmas markets which are set to take place so excited every Saturday and Sunday you should see my downstairs right now is my spare bedroom where my j1's live is Santa's Workshop there is so many nutcrackers in there that is so exciting there we Christmas is having an explosion of mental capacity so how are you doing this like what are you bringing in to make it a Christmas Market so we have um 16 volunteers at this point in time that are really working in Santa's Workshop shout out to our friends over at Old places we are going to actually be doing a couple of um Open studio times where you can come and help decorate but we've got this fun scavenger hunt that we're going to be doing with nutcrackers throughout the area so we're going to be filling that whole Woodland area with not only vendors but also kids activities so we've got everything from paint your own ornaments we've got a live glass blower so I she's making for ornaments right there on the spot which is like insane so she's um a new Artisan that is from the Barnstable area I know so I'm really pumped about that uh we're working on dates right now to accommodate her schedule we have got um our friends over at mindful goat yoga they put on The Nutcracker but it's with the goats so we narrate stop it we do we call it the goat cracker we narrate The Nutcracker with the goats and Tut in their little costumes it's absolutely hysterical cute little eyes exactly we've got live entertainment every single market so we've got Duos and Tre so it's more than just a oneman band it's gonna be a little bit bigger that summer Market was incredible I we had 10,000 visitors in to masp this summer so be really proud of yourself like I'm just excited at the amount of people that we've amassed this just really cool group of humans doing neat things yeah and uh we're going to have tons of food trucks that we were lacking all summer it was a really difficult summer with food trucks well you know what as it gains traction it should gain popularity and people will probably want to be there if they hear the stats I'm sure people will want to like it'll get better every year it was really overwhelming too for our first summer and people didn't know how to gauge it and there's so many events you know how it is around here you have to say no sometimes yeah uh so we do have a lot of our summer vendors coming back and we've got two new ones we had over 200 applications for the capecod Christmas Market this is an open air outdoor Market by the way so yeah bundle up we've got a cookie Workshop so and this is all I we really wanted this to be free for the kids to just come and really have this magical experience so we're we're working on a little Christmas train right now we're trying to we've got a couple of vendors that we're working it out with and trying to keep it in budget didn't you go last year to the Christmas Market that's where we started the whole thing so last year was quiet and little and we we did we did eight European countries to see how their markets ran which ones you go to so we did Austria we did Germany we did um Slovakia Prague see we went to strawberg oh amazing so unbelievable with the cathedral in the back it's like the most stunning my my husband was like in a like you literally walking and it's the most gorgeous thing you're like in a postcard and it's snowing and I'm taking pictures and Chris of course my American husband hurry up we're going to miss are true I got a mess it like relax we're never going to see this again look at it oh my gosh good morning Cliff good morning AJ hey hey I'm looking forward to some of your new shows and uh what you've got going on for the the holiday season Dan Chase good morning from Middle America how are things this is like your whole Holly holiday here today he is a uh horror podcaster so he gets some serious real gu on his podcast and he's he's a native Cape Cotter that moved out Midwest how did I not know this and uh he's he's got some really cool stuff so um hi how are you scary hello from scary town I'm ready for this week to be over I'm sick of it it's Monday at what like 8 know I know let's get through this Halloween season we're almost there uh my husband went and got this big bag of trick-or treat candy we haven't had trick-or treaters here in so many years since the trun or treat started they stopped so now I'm like why is why is the trick or- treat candy open why is half the bag gone and it's always the favorite like the everyone's favorite exactly so I'm like oh okay uh now there's like just a little bowl left that's how just put it outside I know exactly we don't need to have it and it was funny because I not only did I call him on it my son also did J if this is for trick-or-treating why is it open already we don't get trick-or-treaters we take our kids up to um to their cousins there's seven cousins it's absolute chaos it is the cutest thing I love that though the oldest is like um Tori will kill me I she's like seven Y and then there's seven of them and it is the cutest thing and then we have our Nana come over and then it's like all the cousins and the a it's like the it's so cute I'm so jealous I was raised that way and I I loved it my mom's the oldest of eight my dad's the youngest of like 13 I like 47 first cousins on one side I'm just used to a million people in a space at all times that's what it was like growing up and you had your built-in friends yeah because you every cousin every cousin had like three of you about the same age so there's always something that you can get into and that it was just really really a magical moment to be able to share all of that with all of these people and they were your family too so it's really really nice I love that for you it is like family is like so important and you know we just love being with them yeah it makes it easy too and you can just Jam in get there's always a party you don't have to like invite and wait for people start your own two more kids let's go yeah right s did you hear about the witch who had twins no one could tell which witch was wi th thank you I love a good dad joke on a Monday it's perfect Lauren we got the big bag of candy and ate it all except for the now and laters and Twizzlers nobody likes the now and laters that's why you give them all to the kids that's it this is what we have n lers and Twizzlers shout out to our friend Taylor Hutchinson from art and Whimsy she's GNA be hosting the Kid Zone with snowball fights parachutes and crafts for the Cape Cod winter markets that is absolutely amazing I love you Taylor thank you that's really sweet well this is Lauren had started this object in motion and obviously it's just so many dates it's unsustainable as you're owning a business as you're trying to get all of the holiday season to be there and present for every single thing that you want to be a part of in the season I totally understand it and I'm so excited that we've got people stepping up to want to be a part of it it really takes a community we have such a good one here we do I love mashby I'm like if I could be Decked Out mashby and shout out to the mashby middle high school football varsity team winning Friday against Cohasset they were like we got no chance we got no chance see guys every single day last week my son was at the school until 8:30 at night they were watching film they took this game very seriously and they they crushed on Friday I love that so they are the Southeast Conference champions and uh in a year where we did not think that this was going to happen it was senior night it was the first game that they got to play Under The Friday Night Lights because if you've not been following we've had a huge mosquito issue so they've been doing varsity football games at like three in the afternoon right that's lame I know homecoming was like this is so it was just weird and very early um but The Season's changed so we got it done do the kids still wear um like when we used to go to our high school games me and my girlfriend used to get like dressed up in like abber Crombie the girls still like yeah absolutely that they come decked out into the nines uh that particular game they were all wearing like breast cancer stuff so you saw all the boys in hot pink and they were just like really rocking it everybody looked like a Barbie I loved it so cute it was super fun I really really enjoyed just being a part of that experience and uh I'm excited for him that he got that that is so exciting I love that yeah and he's only a sophomore so this is he's got a lot of time to enjoy it absolutely I was like take it all get a big head you know and he really he's got a healthy ego but he's well of course he's a teenage boy he's also my nervous Nelly too and he's a rule follower so we are blessed at this moment in time he's the middle right he's our youngest he's our baby that's it I know I know they're slipping away cat that's why I enjoy having little people I know we've only got one at home now I'm like hello does anybody need me no like I'm ready to momb I'm ready to momb thank you I'm going as Mr Hanky the Christmas Poo this year that's your Halloween costume that's awesome what are you GNA dress up as I have like 14 different costumes this year um as always but I thought it it depends tonight we'll see what I'm going to be over at dos but I'm trying to get Cliff to wear the gorilla costume that my son had last year and I was gonna be Jane from Tarzan love you know what costume I really wanted we'll see how we go by the end of the day I wanted the Oogie Boogie costume the one like the blowup one yeah we have the blowup Cartman over there by the way oh do you I save my son's costumes because he usually goes and spends a ridiculous amount of money on them and I'm like somewhere somehow I'll save all of these I have three totes of Halloween costumes do you know who to talk to about Halloween costumes who Patrice okay Patrice she she's the Halloween costumer oh my God she loves to dress up she's so fun so fun she really is if she is the life of the party shout out to our friends over at Rockland Trust they have been so awesome they sponsored the power of produce program that we were working on with the mashby chamber and she just gave us $1,000 so I get to pay that money to the farmers which I'm really excited for because they donated their food so now I can pay them and and actually pay them for their vegetables and fruits so thank you and thank you always doing community events Rockland Trust we really appreciate you yeah there you're awesome Lauren said I wanted to be the blowup Oogie Boogie but my family voted me to be Sally your Sally that's a good one was slaming so Lauren goes all out she is also very much a Halloween lover last year she did the entire Beetlejuice thing like made the creative backgrounds of absolutely everything that's so cool oh like all out her whole front yard was Beetlejuice and then they were the characters so this year Nightmare Before Christmas big fan their front yard like the nightmare no way she's wild she she where do you find the energy I you should meet her she's got a lot of it for everyone yep her and I together we're we're a lot of fun Patrice I just love costumes anytime any Year bring on the costumes yes and yes so we're here for the Halloween season we're wrapping up October pretty soon is going to be daylight savings time are you prepared for that as a mom young children no like we're outside all the time we took our kids for a walk in the dark the other night like why not they need to get off the energy exactly I'm like we gotta go like I don't know what we're gonna do but no I think it's harder for me though than the kids because we try to keep them busy but like seasonal affection like or sad disorder like it's definitely real and the older I get the worse it gets yep exactly yeah you really this month was like a I was definitely on The Struggle Bus and like I just try to do things like I've pushed myself out of my comfort zone like I'll go to the gym in the afternoon with another friend oh good yeah so I go to the gym on Monday nights and I have a trainer and I do that and you know like I just try to get out with my girlfriends and you know just try to keep active the atmosphere easy yeah it's so easy to like be introverted and stay home and cozy but I don't think you can like I think you have to keep doing stuff you know yep we've talked about this many many times is the object of motion needs to stay in motion and if you allow me any time to just snuggle up and not go anywhere I won't yeah I'll be a Hermit literally and it's just not good for anybody and it's definitely not good for my mental health so check on your people that you know are affected by the season change also just dealing with kids when it's like light out and you're telling them to go to bed and they're like that that's not no I'm not going to do that it's very difficult we used to lie to the kids I'm like no see that clock it says 6:00 it's your bed like it's time for bed and they're like no it's not the other one says well we had big kids that would ruin it for us well ours are still young enough exactly whatever you tell them is whatever it is and that's the way it is well yesterday me and my husband both had it with them yesterday and he goes it was like 7:23 and I was like all right guys it's time for bed so he's like when I say it's time for bed and it's early you don't listen I was like well I'm I'm done I'm ready right I right 6:45 I was in bed last night yeah it was toast I couldn't keep my eyes open I was like in the middle of doing laundry I fell asleep with my laptop on my lap I was just like I was done I'm checked out sometimes sometimes you just have to yeah but it's not good because I was wide awake at midnight my husband's like go to DED why I snoozed at like six o'clock I already had my full my full six hours of sleep I'm good to go let's go what are we doing today he's like oh it's going to be start a project 100% I really did I really did last night I was making spreadsheets but see like you this is what happens for me I'm like exhausted exhausted exhausted all day and then it's finally time to lay down and I'm like whoa let's go it's time to party y your brain I don't know it's the weirdest thing not good uh speaking of not good we had some bad news over the weekend uh two people found dead in Yarmouth at the beach like awful 20 things that try to be resuscitated so sad I was just like oh you know this is the time of year where I don't know I feel like people take unnecessary risks or do foolish things and I just get so nervous and oh we need to find stuff for our kids and young 20s some things to be doing and being in a parking lot out late last night not good well there's nothing for kids around like younger people around here like there's bars and then there's things for little kids y but there's nothing for like older kids or like I don't know shout out to our friends over at the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod I'm on the board we are really working hard to bring that teen center to fruition uh the money's almost there we've got you know the plans pretty much ready to go so as soon as we can break ground and get that open please if you're thinking about making your end of the year donation definitely look at the boys and girls club and see if you make a difference in getting that teen center because I think it's so just needed they need a place for sure definitely yeah and parents need to know that their kids are going somewhere safe so they don't have you know like they don't have to worry yeah they do a good job Friday nights they'll have dances and they'll get them into to just be a part of something whether it's running around in the gym or using some of their computer stuff or playing some games or just being together with a couple of monitors that you know and also people like um Mike and they there's so many wonderful people over there that volunteer their time and just really Mentor these kids and just put them in a better space and know that they're not alone so I absolutely love everyone well sometimes they just need a place to be listened to you know like I don't think listen to them enough yep it's so true have a good Halloween to you a thanks Dan I appreciate you I got to check out some of your pods even though it's a little scary and out of my debt I get I'm at Fredy cat I started watching the Zodiac Killer thing and um it's new on Netflix it's just like a thre parter or whatever just about how he was just a regular guy that yeah regularly took kids around town and it was it was absolutely terrifying it definitely affected by sleep for a few days even the gayy guy he was like the clown was that the clown killer he would was like a regular guy he was going to church it's like I don't know what our obsession is with serial killers of the United States but we number one podcast genre is true true crime and I think that's terrifying it's like oh let's relax a little bit and listen to a true crime podcast I don't trust anybody anymore now you know cat discussed it I know I don't know what's real who to believe like and I'm such a gullible person me too I take people at their word when they tell me something and I'm like oh okay I I don't look to that my husband's like that's Stephanie you're no I'm like what that's not real he's like no like what are you talking about but they said what they told me I am like a little kid when it comes to stuff like that I really do believe people at there word it drives me nut because that's how you are you know like that's how you are and you expect everyone else to be like you are too yeah yeah it's true and Dan says oh we've got Full House commentaries too I don't do True Crime I just like my horror fake that's what horror is real really really fake don't go up there the big screams the big foolishness silly kit well lately I've been getting into Thriller like Thriller reads and they're actually really good and it they catch my attention on like a deeper level yeah like I'm um listening to we used to live here it is actually really good is it yeah so good it's not like necessarily scary but it's just like get like you just want to read more yeah it's so weird my husband has such add that he's always listening to a book on tape or watching something else while he's actively working on something else I find it the most bizarre I'm like how do you no I can't do that do all of that while you're doing something productive it's bizarre to me it's mainly in the car so I'll listen in the car and I'll listen at home like when no one's home and I have my headphones on yeah and that well like while I'm cleaning you know like doing mindless things so easy to listen yeah and that way I don't have to listen to my internal monologue freaking out I I sometimes just allow that I'll I will find myself driving in the car listening to nothing and my kids are like are are you gonna do this for a long time I'm like oh I I got a lot going On's it might look blank but there's a lot going on back there there's a lot it's very busy in here too many tabs open it's 100% so I do find myself in the silence often uh which does not work for my family that's for sure unsolved Myster my traumatized me fiction only thinks yes it was one of the parts of the musical last night was Unsolved Mysteries are really just Mysteries facts that that's absolutely mind-blowing but absolutely true was so stupid it's so true why do we say these things it just made me laugh out loud why they're all unsolved because they're Mysteries correct thank you so that show Absolutely was terrifying it was like the one of five shows that was available for us when we were kids saraphina that's why well do you remember Goosebumps yes yeah there's a friendlier version that's coming out now right I think it was on i' let my kids watch it for like 10 minutes and I was like n we're changing this yeah it's a little heavy for them at their age what are they into Batman no Spider-Man oh my God they're obsessed with Spider-Man okay we don't like Paw Patrol anymore it's for babies okay um mainly Spider-Man oh that's good I mean we're I we're in a Miss Rachel phase with um our in-house lemonade o baby Savannah who we'll be seeing in a little while I know my assistant Emily and our office manager uh brings Savannah to work with her on Mondays I love that so I get my baby fix on Mondays and she loves Miss Rachel right now Miss Rachel's actually really cute I I think she's adorable she's so cute but I feel like I could have been miss Rachel in another life I watch that and I'm like that's why kids like me about blippy right somebody likes I saw Bluey I saw blippy um what were the other costumes I saw over the weekend yeah lots of Spider-Mans yeah Spider-Man's really popular oh Transformers are popular now Super Mario Sonic I saw I saw two Sonics yeah that was new yeah because because it's old but new now it's back and they have the 20 well the 20s something with um thaty Jason no Mamoa no God if he was in it I was like wait what she's like I didn't know I got to start watching kids shows Marsden okay James Marsden he's in the movies yeah okay all right yeah I just I'm always curious what's popular now because I don't have kids in that age bracket and it's funny with girls I'm like I don't know I have boys I have no idea what's popular for girls I I know what I like yeah but that doesn't Spider-Man never seems to go out of style shout out to uh Demetrius over at steeple Street Music he's working hard to fit into that su he looked really good I was gonna I was like Demetrius looks so fit right now it's ridiculous so him and his son were over there and um he got into it I haven't seen him oh he did he did he was wearing it I'm so proud of him he was working so hard I was like Demetrius you don't even have to work out hard it like put a Spanx on did guys wear spanks I'm so curious it would offer some support well I mean he he was in a leotard this weekend did I was really fully impressed with how fit he actually looked at the leotard so good for you Dad good job not having a dadbod whatsoever good morning Miss Emily hey Kelly how are you you and I need to talk about your bow making Workshop so Kelly is over at Enchanted Florist in centraal and we had this day where she does it every single year we've done it for the past three years it was pedal of Ford and it's just um you know a mental health awareness like two bouquet of flower you give one and you keep one for yourself and she does this completely free every single year and uh we were talking about a bow making Workshop because I would love I don't have a creative bone when it comes to like making things or painting things or making crafty things I really stink at it like I I want to in my head I want it so bad and then I do it it's like yeah exactly right it's one of those let down you're like the nailed it photos like that's me is like all caving in and sideways it's got a long finger like a den spider like just immediately brought me back to my PTSD Mouse yesterday um you're gonna be seeing that forever really I had nightmares about it again and it was it was a thing um so Kelly thank you very much for doing what you do always and if you're looking for centerpieces if you're looking for something special please think of our local Flores over at Enchanted Flores she does an amazing job she goes and and really teaches you how to care for your flowers if you ever have a question of what goes with what she will sit there and chat with you see it really makes a difference having someone that loves what they do because they bring it into their work like so it's really sweet totally Chris if you're listening you can stop and get some flowers Enchanted Florist Kelly she'll hook it up for you for sure anything else that you want to talk about before we leave we've been yapping for an hour has it been an big job yeah you're big boy job right but you know hone your skills over here for sure we love having our students on the air with us you know what that's so important because it lets them come in and some money for you and pay you for it well find there's always something somewhere right exactly there really is so we love having the door open to our our teens and younger kids we're actually working on a volunteer program right now with mash Middle High School canell I'm coming for you we got a lot to talk about coming into the 2025 season thank you for all it is that you do over there at our mashby Middle High School these kids are so smart I know well that's it they need an outlet for their intelligence they have access to things like I think back to when I was in high school and middle school and how just I feel like we're not nearly a third of the stuff that they're coming out of high school knowing already just because our technology is so much better it's insane like the tools that they have to help them with their education is absolutely insane yeah and our robotics team gets it's it it's nationally ranked they have a robotic yeah yes that's so cool I know they do really amazing things definitely check out what's going on at the local schools because they really they blow my mind with the stuff that they know and they're pretty awesome we just got the um I guess a group of kids from my son's age bracket went and petitioned the school committee because they want to do Universal Studios for their senior trip so they're working on fundraising they're like building this whole thing wasn't there an email sent out about that or something they to go to Florida for their senior trip so they're sophomores so they're already getting this into action like they're planners they're they're out there like trying to figure out how to fund this because it's not a cheap four or five days but they're working in some educational components to it to to make it look more attractive to everyone you know what why don't they get in touch with that someone in Universal exactly like they should really be getting in touch with them telling them they're from you know is it the robotics team or is it just no it's just their senior trip well tell them what they want to do and if they can help them because usually they'll they'll do something like that I love that they're spearheading themelves and they're already talking about it it's very very cool so I'm like get out there start fundraising now I've got a place for you we've got it Jamie Thursday 5: to
