hey hey good morning it's Ranna and Stephanie thank you so much for joining me today of course I'm so happy to be here well you had a tough morning yeah the traffic was insane the borne Bridge was really backed up it was like bumper to bumper stop on the highway I don't know if you've not looked outside of your house today but we did get snow and it's not snow that should have done what it did definitely not I was like my car was swerving and then I had to pull over and stop for a while and then when we actually got on the highway like my friend had been there since like 710 it was like 8 o'clock and she hadn't moved well I laughed when she had texted me and she's like I'm not going to make a GPS says 10:30 I'm like I'm 15 minutes from the bridge okay but then I saw Bourne police post a photo and I was was like I don't know if people tried to turn swerve if it messed up the general traffic pattern people were crazy today but uh you persevered and got here this morning so I appreciate it of course I made it I'm so happy so I met ran and when I did a guest drop in over at forces uh Lisa Z the professor over there for communications and radio and podcasting has a really great group of students this year they're so great I love all of them like they're like so kind too like I had just met them and they were like accepting me into this world it was great I love that it was this world because right no I've never done anything like this it was it was so fun and new and um Professor Z was so kind to me she kept saying that I was natural and it just made me feel really good about myself yeah so talk a little bit about your time at fores and like this whole process for you is this your first year this is my second year the first year I was a business major and then I switched over to Communications because it just seemed a lot more me um I was having just like I was struggling just like trying to fit in this business world like I didn't really know what I was going to do with it and I still not quite sure but it just feels more right you know yeah um and then even in high school like I had no idea what I was going to do that's why I ended up at 4C's but it's such a great school and the teachers are so like I love how personalized it is like the teachers are so kind they talked about all the time how classes have like 300 students in them and I just I don't know I don't think I would thrive in something like that yeah totally it is a different mindset whatsoever hi Mark thanks for joining us we got a studio audience on a bunch of different platforms so renan is in her second year at 4C's and she's really focusing on Communications you just started with the radio you're uh a fast learner when it comes to the podcasting how's that been going um I'm having so much fun I did not think you could major in College in something like this like I am something that's fun right I'm having so much fun something that Professor Z said that when we first got there was that um in high school you learn to like stay inside the box and like like order learn the rules like do everything by the book and then when I got to college like she was just like yeah you got to learn to do things differently now like now you can do things differently and it's just like it's crazy it's so different but I love it I didn't know I could have this much fun in class it's important for people to understand that that's the the part of your education where you get to decide where it goes so great and I think it's mindblowing for some people to be trying something that they've always thought that that it was maybe unattainable or maybe not a space in which they would Thrive and that's amazing good morning Miss Eva I got to thank some of our sponsors like my extra time this morning I got on the rowing machine I leisurely looked through my emails and saw that I had way too much work to do she got a little workout in I love that I did I got a couple of other podcasts one of the podcasts that we do here at lemon Ado I do with a former student from for's really so she yeah she had come on the air with me and we kind of just bonded and it's a little pop culture it's a little coffee so I feel like it jogs my my mindless brain a a little bit cuz I don't know what it is about the celebrity world but even in my terrestrial radio career I loved the the the gossip it's so great it's such a fun distraction from your own life too thank you and that's really what it is what's going on in other people's relationships I don't have to look at mine right now for five seconds exactly I love that so much um well there's not a ton going on recently we had two different like dejing events I I did the first one I I never djed before my love profor Z was like you know what I think you can do this and she just put me right into Li's Den I was having a blast though um so we were in the cafeteria and it was like it was an event for like students to like take a look at all the careers and like there was also like a Halloween competition thing it was so fun I had a blast and um yeah it was basically pretty chill but I didn't know I could do that right well that's the way radio used to be we used to actually jocky records we used to play play them Parts real toore there used to be so much more physicality involved and than just picking a song right I know it was really easy I it was my job was like almost nothing I just had to like queue up what was next you know that's fine though you've got to learn somewhere and it's a little stressful when you're like oh my counting down the seconds I was like so worried that the crowd wasn't going to be into it and I was like oh what if they hate the song I picked and started booing me I was very very nervous that's not going to happen that's a that's a nice bar to entry is when you're at a school event what's up Thomas thanks for joining us this morning ran and is here from fores and uh she's a Communications major hey T what's going on I hope you're well is everybody fine we're bracing ourselves for the dusting of snow that we got that shut down our bridges today crazy I can't even believe that cap cod we're better than that come on I mean honestly who's surprised you have to bring every kind of coat with you you have to bring a bathing suit you you bring a winter coat you to bring rain boots an umbrella a shovel welcome to Massachusetts prepare for all the seasons and you'll be good to go in one day y okay so you tried out DJing you're in the cafeteria and I feel like it's just such a warm environment every time I'm there it's so supportive I love it so much it was nothing like I expected I I really like it there um they really are trying so hard to build a community I just did a project in my public speaking class where we talked about all the things that students like need on campus or some things that would help students nowadays on campus yeah and Cape Cod really tries to do all of them like we there's so many clubs that people don't know about there's so many like mixers and DJ events like it's it's really cute and it's so fun to see everybody there at once yeah and it's a nice small supportive environment especially um Good morning Joe I will call you back later I apologize I know it's Consin I've got a switchboard operating system over here um some of the other PSAs that you want to hit on for the school yes I very very adamant about mental health and something that foresees also cares a lot about is mental health so if you're struggling struggling with your mental health as a college student the forse's wellness is always an open resource the wellness center provides support with emotional physical environmental issues facing fore students today so to meet with a specialist visit for.com Wellness she really is natural I mean honestly it's really difficult to just show up and be like on and you're like I'm here I got it I'll do it sign me up for that thank you I feel like that's part about being in college that is really some a little stressful and anxiety riddled is putting yourself out there definitely and you can feel it there while you're doing it the whole time like I'm so nervous right now but I'm just using it as energy you I don't know but yeah it's definitely you can feel it the whole time and you're actively conscious of everything that you're doing and you just have to just ignore it right like I will deal with you later right like you should be like oh let's try to make a friend maybe and then just like act normal is there anything else about the culture of forces that you want people to know about um other than the really really great teachers like so many teachers like from like amazing universities they retire on Cape and so like they'll teach it places like this so you're getting a good education a lot of people just think differently about Community College but it was a great transitional period for me because I was not ready for like full-blown College like I know you miss like the living there experience which they don't have but a dorm is not always the best option yeah this is true it's not I just want you know that yeah I have no money so it's good but it's okay to like carve off some of your gen ads I know that they're doing some even continuing education over 24s they're sending you to school for free at this point so if you've never finished your degree and you want to go and just knock that out of the way please do so because an amazing thing yeah are you seeing some older people on campus yeah I met this woman in my first semester foras she was in her 30 she had like two kids she was in my communications class and I didn't even know I had no idea she had children I I was talking to her like we were like friends we made friends for a little bit and I was talking to her and she was like yeah my daughter I was like your daughter and and I just didn't it go through my mind that other people like like older people would go to college and it was just so cool to meet so many people I think it's actually better and beneficial for you to see A Slice of Life from every Walk of Life I mean you really get a good experience of what it's like from any person's vantage point exactly and it helps you become like a better human in itself too like the more you know about other people's circumstances the better you can be like self-awareness plus people see things differently so I feel like if you're in a small group setting where you need some help on a specific area somebody with a different set of eyes and a different background and a different educational space can definitely help you in those and they can open your eyes it's great yeah um some mentoring that they've got over at the school and you've got small study groups as well right they offering T they offer tutor Services um if you're struggling in class like fores offers a tutoring session in the fores tutoring center they provide like very comprehensive one-on-one support for literally almost every subject and if you're not on campus they offer off-campus sessions on Zoom so if yeah Ren is here from fores and so your favorite right now is pop culture you've got a pop culture podcast oh I do what do you think has been the hardest thing for you to put together so far I know it kind of seems overwhelming have you ever edited anything really put your hands on any Adobe stuff oh yeah Adobe was the first thing Missy really like had to go in there and like help me learn like everything else came pretty naturally to me but then Adobe was like I was just like oh my God how do I edit the clips together what do you mean this voice track is on top of that one and what and it was crazy um but I have edited a couple things I was very proud of my first like she called it a pocket podcast he was like a little baby one um I was very very proud of it because I had like sound effects and my voice modulated it was this whole thing right it's there's so much more to it when you hear things and now do you hear things in regular life and you're like that has processing on it that commercial the other day I I literally was listening to both a Taylor Swift song and a commercial and I was like she that's modulated that has a sound effect on that and I was just like I thought I was so cool cuz I knew what's up Junior yeah and I get aggravated now and I listen I have I am so awful to listen to radio with my husband's like do you like anything because I just sit there and pick it apart I'm like that is not and they should have done this and this is bad and because I just I know the inner workings and or I'll just be driving and my husband's like sloppy and I'm like oh now you know so he does it too oh my God that's like my God that's like when I first Learned to Drive I was literally backi driving my dad because you're so attuned but you're so attuned to it like I'm right here in the learning phases and I now know all the things you're doing wrong exactly it's so hard it's like I want to prove to you that I know what I'm talking about see that and I'm a Capricorn I'm critical I can't help it I'm an aquarius is your birthday coming up soon yes it is it's the day after Christmas I have the world's worst birthday oh yeah you're not going to get any presents it's just not it's not even the presents it's the deflation it's like after all of the fun exactly no one wants to eat anything no one wants to go party it's all done like you've had a full month of it and they're like can we like yeah they want a break until New Year's bye bye we just need a break we don't want to eat that we don't want to go there that's SI it's like the biggest return day I feel like I would like to return my birthday oh my God it's Boxing Day in Canada I don't know what that means is that like I think packing boxes or are they punching each other I think it's don't know what you celebrate I I'm celebrate Christmas yeah first day of Hanukkah by the way Thursday who's excited for it I know I need a manora on the desk I feel like I need to represent all of it yes yeah well I do celebrate Christmas I'm very excited to see my family that was the one thing that like really was hard for me when I first started like college and I had to start working to pay for it off you know so I'm like I have like two jobs and I go to college so like I never get to see like I haven't seen my niece or my baby cousin I forget if what she is honestly my second cousin whatever she's my cousin's daughter I haven't seen her in like ages and I missed like her growing up I barely got to see her you don't have any free time when you're in school I know and like my sisters like we used to hang out all the time and now when I am in the car with them I treat it as a hangout because I never do it anymore I just saw a Tik Tock the other day and was like where are the people that are 30 or 40 and then some guy did a stitched it together and he was like we're in the car we're that's what we do we're driving we're driving somewhere driving somebody something this is where we hang out it's here I know my mother is always in her car I feel so terrible she deserves to be outside doing something living her life and she's like our chauffeur and I feel terrible yeah my my children will not my daughter will not get her license really no she's about to be 18 and will not get her license she's scared I think so yeah my sister was scared too yeah I think she's afraid of it she's done all of the driver's ed classes except one and then finds an excuse to not do it this has gone on for a full year wow there is something she just won't do it has a car well I guess it's sweet because she knows that you have your her back you know it's painful but also she's gonna is she going to go to college well that's the thing she might need the car she we're we're all over the place right now this is her senior year I just got her Capa and gown photos like we're ready and she's still up in the air she's got four trajectories of life right now I know I know it's stressful I really do too for her yeah and for is not off the table for her definitely not she should come there I could give her a tour I feel like you know she needs to expand her options just a little bit she's looking at the Navy she's looking at full on school she got a pretty wide variety there Navy and college is all in the mix it it really is one of all the and like a going away School a stretch thing and then basically wants to buy a house in West Virginia and live in a log cabin and make period pce stuff for Etsy I mean she's really got that's all the options I've heard I I basically heard everything that you could do with your life check check she has a narrowed it down yet I'm like time's a ticket maybe we just start with a class at fores and then we'll figure it out that's me too though I can't decide if I want to live in the beach or the city I don't even know what the world is like at this point in time right now honestly you can't afford either one so you're hit really she is 78 years old oh my God yeah I just heard something wasn't she 13 she recorded that song yes I always thought it was an old woman I I genuinely heard her voice in I was like that's maturity no no hadn't even hit puberty probably that's crazy exactly and here she is 78 years old like I waited my time good for her I know now Mariah care is like not having it probably you know she's bitter about it probably Mariah take a rest somebody else has to be the queen of Christmas pass it on it's gonna be allowed it's been a while let this girl have it yeah she's 78 now I was also looking at the top Christmas movies um so the number one Christmas movie It's a Wonderful Life just unseated I forget what one it was so old I'm going to have to rewatch it cuz I don't even remember how it goes I don't think I've seen it see yeah number two the holiday and number three elf like elf should be number one yeah elf should be number one it's the most classic holiday movie I've probably ever seen elf home alone I'm trying to think of oh Miracle on 34th Street there you go 34th yeah yeah it is somebody wrote I had trivia this week and somebody wrote 42nd Street I laughed I said wrong Street oh your idea was right you they had it right I mean they're like I all I know is I like the movie right I just gave it like a little clip it was a visual round of trivia really so yeah it was a skinny Santa and it was in black and white so that's so cute I wish I could have seen it Miracle on 34th Street so there yeah we think that that belongs there so that's in our Christmas realm of things today this morning hours ago yeah Taylor Swift was nominated and and is Time person of the year person of the year I saw that photo shoot and let me just say it's giving reputation for all my swifties out there you are obsessed with Taylor Swift obviously that whole statement that just came out of your mouth I know so much about that woman it's it's painful for me to like keep it in I have to tell people she almost re-recorded well no we all thought we all got clowned on what was it the 20 I think it was the 27th we all got clowned we all thought she was going to like release a new like re-record you know how she's doing her re-records we all thought that she was going to like announce that she was going to release reputation Taylor's version no she didn't she did nothing and I was sitting there on the live stream at like 3:00 am crying because I was like I thought you was GNA announce it I was so sad it this is a phenomenon I do not understand I'm not in the right age demographic to get it but my 30-some friend is obsessed obsessed well sleeps breathes all things tailor there is so much time and energy that goes into being a Swifty I know the amount of Breaking Down lyrics oh what what was behind that what was the thought behind that what did she mean by this is she talking about him or she talking about him yeah I feel like it's an investigation oh constantly it really is you know we all just like we love to be detectives we want to know it it really gives Criminal Minds it's so much I love that show perfect literally knew you're going to laugh at me for that I love it yeah but that's not the only reason when she's up in the in magazines lately her and Travis her couple lately they've been like literally taking over the NFL yeah that's all that they want to promote is Taylor and it's my favorite thing ever honestly my dad's a little sick of it I'll tell you but um I cannot get enough so they were like apparently this is just a rumor I have no confirmation and I'm not in with the secrets but Travis like reportedly bought a multi-million dollar house when they first started dating and then after the tour like on her last day of this year tour like her last tour of the Year whatever show date yeah um she World Tour yeah the last date for this year though it's starting again next year but I know that she so much I know so much her security was spotted at the house so everyone thinks she's moving in so that's is too soon to move in I don't know but people think that they've been together for a while so and I personally think so too I just you know when it works it works I feel like you just kind of know when you know you know yeah the song that um her friend Jack actually wrote for his wedding it's really cute oh my God there's so many things Jack an Jack anof yeah I know so many things Lana Del re saying it I'm like it's not just her friend Jack no it's Jack an Jack an yeah he wrote that song and so honestly yeah when you know you know and I I love whatever is good for her is good for me honestly I just love seeing the fact that she finally cares nothing about what everyone has to say about it I feel like this is the year that she emerged from a relationship that was kind of dragging her from everything that was dragging her Co and she just came out of that Co cocoon like a Lotus it was just like here I am beat that genuinely the things that I love about this year was that it was so like girl power like I know that's o it's that phrase is overs said a lot but I think it was great like there was a there was Barbie there was Taylor Swift yeah and girls are just unap unapologetically being girls and I love that that was a moment on threads also over the last two weeks where everyone was like girls follow girls it has been a movement in support which is really nice given where uh I grew up and it was always pitted against each other like there can only be one and um I'm so glad that that's not the narrative where we are in 2023 it's nice I love being friends with other girls like I'll just see it like oh you look so cute today instead of trying to compete with them be like oh my God how did you do your hair like H I love that it's this is growth I'm very appreciative of the status of females right now I really yeah it's it's a nice thing to see I appreciate it coming from the caddy 80s and 90s of which I came from I bet you had a hard time my mom talks about it all the time too she's like we were awful so mean that's crazy it was not a nice space not me specifically um because I was kind of time boyish and uh I was in the military and I preferred the company of dudes just because I didn't have to hear yeah the BS yeah and it's just not that way anymore right and now we can just be yeah that's my favorite thing yeah so Taylor Swift pushing that envelope forward uh we thank you for that we do and collect your time woman of the year person of the year thing of the year you're yeah it's awesome so you had some other good celebrity gossip what about uh Sabrina Carpenter talk to me like I'm five cuz I don't even know the situation so Sabrina Carpenter right she recently Rose to fame like like her level of Fame when she started opening for Taylor Swift yeah yeah and like one of her songs feather extremely good I've been a fan of Sabrina since like I was 14 and she's gotten a lot of albums but this is of her best work and feather is like a really fun song where it's basically just like oh I feel so much lighter like a feather with you out of my life it's like a toxic guys out of your life it's so cute it's my one of my favorite songs right now it's so cute it's so cute um and so in one of the in one of the lines in feather she says I'm so sorry for your loss so she wanted to film the music video in a church like kind of like at his memorial or like at his funeral yeah by the death of your relationship the relationship like so sorry for your loss like she didn't kill him she did not kill him um the music video was really funny there was a lot of like fake blood in it so like I think that's probably where it came but like she recorded this in like a church in Brooklyn and she got approval in advance but then when they saw the music video they did not appreciate it we do not like this yeah they they didn't know not very happy about it and her only response was well Jesus was a carpenter and I was just like girl I that's awesome actually I was like you know that's hilarious and she did get approval so I guess you know who knows it's Brooklyn please how many hipster weirdos doing weird exhibitionist things let me just tell you um family and I went to what's called Fringe Festival it's in Scotland and it's basically um in Edinburgh where it's Fringe for a reason it's the outskirts so it's all freaks Geeks weirdos like lady boys from Bangkok random stuff and I saw this woman with a mohawk powering through heavy rock metal music while she was making yarn on a spindle inside the front of a church apps and I was like what what is happening here this is the weirdest thing I've ever seen inti life that's so many different stereotypes like rocking out to hard metal then she's knit leather jacket knitting it like outside of a church I can't that I can't even picture it the whole vibe and my husband and I are just like where are we oh my God what is happening that is crazy that is amazing it was really really cool never seen anything like that so I love breaking down stereotypes in Brooklyn you are the place in which something like a little bit of blood in a church shouldn't be a big Todo right I don't know why you're making a big deal out of it it's just a little bit of fake blood you allowed a music video in your church what did you think was going to happen imagine the worst and then double that exactly this little blonde girl in 5 in heels what do you think she was going to do it wasn't an old Holy Night skit definitely not not not gonna work out for us all right so uh also what I saw on the drama list of conversation today yeah cardi B and offset unfollow each other on social media don't they have kids together they do what does that mean in a relationship this day and age I don't know your age bracket what does that mean well that typically means that you're broken up and you don't want you literally don't want to look like you're still Instagram stalking each other right so like if I had an ex-boyfriend I would unfollow him I don't want to look like I know what he's doing at all you want to be completely out of his life but secretly you want to make sure that he's looking at your face right so do you make up fake profiles and follow each other is that a thing I've never personally gone that far however I know girls that have done this I'm sure people do and honestly it makes sense to me you want to know what he's up to but you don't want to look like you want want to know what he's up to you know what I mean yes I've heard these conversations around me I I don't have the bandwidth for that I've also been married since I was born so I really don't have that kind of fun anymore never struggled I don't know about that it's just a different kind of struggle well yeah yeah nothing like trying not to like comment on each other's Instagram posts accidentally or accidentally liking a picture from years ago those are embarrassing moments that have definitely happened to people when you defitely my best friend happens to her all the time oh really love her though all of a sudden she's like uh she's like dang it she just doesn't realize she just doesn't know she'll like like someone that hates her on like she'll like someone that hates her picture on Instagram and then they'll be like oh you trying to start beefing she be like oh I didn't even know I did that sorry she truly genuinely doesn't understand what happened no idea what's up Thanos hi Auntie thanks for joining us your grandbabies look beautiful I'm jealous I want to squish some babies It's Time It's usually the season where we get together but I don't think it's going to happen this year for us I think we're going in a different direction with Christmas my kids are really bigger we're older the big ones are gone and so um my brother lives in Manhattan yeah and he's gonna be visiting my mom on the west coast so I was like um want to leave your your big sister your keys so I could have a nice New York Christmas yeah yeah I know you can like go ice skating in the Square exactly like the Christmas tree my friends wanted to go so bad we were thinking we' do a trip up but it's so Beau New York is so beautiful this time of year and I know as a Massachusetts person you're like we don't like that we like that it's pretty Bryant Park is beautiful but I mean I thought maybe something different like flipping the script get all nice and dressed up and go to a park Plaza and spend way too much money on a Christmas dinner just so we can get some cute photos exactly if you're going to have to deal with the snow you might as well look cute doing it exactly that's my thing just look good in anything you do perfect I just thought something different to make a memory with we're really working on just experiential things and doing fun things that we'll remember as a family together I'm not going to have them under our roof for very much longer and so I know I know I'm kind of like in this Nostalgia moment no I know that makes me sad too because I'm like in the same situation but I'm your kid exactly so like I don't want to like leave my mom that's so sad I yes and no I mean all things have to change and evolve we we have to grow so I'm just kind of making them remember that we're fun and we like you and come back and don't forget us when we're old no I you know what I'm so excited to do I want to throw parties for my family when I'm I cannot wait it's gonna be so great I'm gonna be the best party thrower that's awesome where do you see yourself in a few years I don't know I was really hoping that I could live in a city I've always loved that aspect of it like a tiny little apartment I go to my job and I come home and I walk the streets I recently went to Boston with my best friend loved it I mean given it was Newbery street so was like Boston Boston I had a good time and I it's a pretty clean area of Boston so it's like I've definitely romanticized it but I I kind of want to try maybe see Eva says don't be so sure my two kids are still at home yeah I don't know what's gonna happen I just want them to remember they like us yeah if nothing else fails we were good to you at some point yeah remember this moment remember the good times totally I think that City living is definitely for young people I feel like I never I City's always made me anxious yeah now as I'm older I can I like visiting but leaving yeah my mom said the same thing yeah yeah she was like I I could never live in the city no I need space yeah I need space I like my beach I like being Coastal right so that's I'm also torn between living just like a beach house life I've always loved that it's so calming and it the beach has always been a happy place so why not live there for the rest of my life I know if you can if I you if you have the means I would do it and I want to but I don't know if I'm going to have the means yet well that's why we're GNA have to just work extra hard in school and figure out where we're where our place in the world is yeah um I just saw that the jobs report came out and it said there were less jobs available and I'm just wondering what the hell are people doing for money right how are you guys doing it like is everyone just going to become an influencer that's crazy influenc us to do what but we have no dollars what are we going to influence people to do how you going to get us to buy stuff if we don't have money I don't get it classes that you're surprised that you really enjoyed so far um I had to take a poetry class one semester it was great I loved it I was like I felt like Olivia Rodrigo because she went to a poetry class in college and she was like this is amazing this how I write my music and I was like wow I feel so deep that's awesome I think I rhymed one word and I was like oh wow look at me look at me I just wrote vampire right I think that's literally that's what she said she said that her College poetry class helped her write vampire and Lacy I loved though it's a good song really yeah she's I I've seen her a couple of times yeah and um I I'm impressed by the depth of her work right uh not musicality wise I mean she's gotten herself in a fair amount of lawsuits for stealing other people's music um but her lyrics are really really powerful and it's weird to me that someone at that in your age can be so deep no I know I've never really per me personally I've never known how to like express it in words but she does it so vulnerably like and with no like she I'm I'm sure she's probably scared in her head but she still does it and that's so brave yeah and I give your generation a lot of credit you do put self-care first yeah that is something that we do try to do especially skincare I was just gonna say also skin care I love skincare I could talk about it for hours there was an article that came out in USA Today that was talking about should we be concerned that our children are spending so much time and money on skin care I'm like why it's the largest organ of your body you should absolutely take better care of it than we did exactly what's better than like do you want me to pay attention to some other aspect like should I be doing my nails or should I be taking care of my skin my daughter has like lotions and potions and all kinds of other things that she's been making from her garden since birth I was like I would love to see you go into like chemistry or something I would love her to harness that for Sciences to be able to make a little bit more organic products those are the things that we're seeing trending in 2024 is organic actual food and actual Garden things is using the power of all of that we're going right back to the Apothecary situation we're trying people are trying a lot more like it's trendier now to like strip things down to the very basics of what it is like skincare Wise food wise well I think it's just bizarre that we went on this industrial tiate of making a bunch of chemical crap to poison ourselves with for the last 30 years right it's now it's just like oh we shouldn't be doing that why' we do it anyway we're in a Renaissance like Beyonce we're just starting over again we're just rewinding yeah let's try this again this part that was bad let's do it again seriously though this is the reset that we're in I mean at least we're learning some in some aspect you know like if you don't learn from your history you'll doomed to repeat it so maybe we'll learn and we won't do it again yeah but again like cost of everything buying organic stuff it's trendy but like for rich people like a lot of people can't do that and it's weird to me stuff you could grow yourself I feel like also in the dawning of the Tik Tok we're doing a lot of stuff ourselves 100% with the people are like stay-at home manicures I so many videos on that stayathome blowout like you know but is that what we're we're I don't know pushing is the fact that we can do everything ourselves what if you really can't that's yeah honestly if you could do everything yourself a lot of businesses would go like out like there'd be a lot of hairdressers that lose I love the confidence don't get me wrong and I feel like we should absolutely be empowering ourselves to do the things that we want to but uh we can't do all of the things and know all of the things just because I watched it on Tik Tok exact I feel like even my 14-year-old 15-year-old no son just turned 15 week and a half ago I need to get used to it wow um says all you know Mom I saw it on Tik Tok I'm like that doesn't make it real no yeah no there's too many trends that like definitely just aren't explaining enough like they don't go into depth about what you're actually supposed to do they're just trying to like clickbait you and get you to tap on the video and so they don't explain like maybe half the steps they actually left out they only showed you the part that you need you want to see to make it cool you know right or to get people everything's about likes how is that how is that culture for you at your age God so it's so weird because and it's also feels really dehumanizing because people on there they're like they really will change anything about themselves just to get like the viewership and to get the money and like get your bag but also the stuff that you're putting out to the younger generation there's so many younger kids that have this app they are being completely they're being completely changed like and like especially tension spans they're going down by the minute like nobody can pay attention to anything longer than a couple seconds because that's all the Tik Tok is it's a couple second videos and that's what kids are learning and it's it's so crazy yeah it's probably very very bad for us how do you reset yourself when you find yourself kind of spiraling into this like next next next do you sit there and just scroll for hours I does happen it does suck well you yeah it's so addicting and it it honestly is addicting like genuinely and you just kind of have to like I don't know I'll read a book I love to read it's something I've gotten back into especially with like college and everything it just helps me calm down like I'll read before bed or um I'll listen to a song like Taylor Swift she I memorized her entire phography because she does calm me down I cannot let it go let it's good though I feel like in the there are worst things to be addicted to if you're addicted to Taylor Swift you're winning yeah she's she's on top Y what are you gonna do it's good so reading I I think that that's really important reading I'm so glad I got back into it I was kind of on a like a dry spell with reading for a bit I couldn't find a good book and then I read this one I I think it was a romance novel I forget the title it was about like I'm so bad with titles yeah I can't remember anything probably a default of I've read it I've watched it but yeah it's probably but an add thing now Doom scrolling we such low attention we can't remember a thing what did you just say I did read it I don't remember I'm sorry I think it was about like a secret spy though that fell in love and I was like well this is kind of cool and so it just got me back into it I recently watched uh and read lessons in chemistry loved it read the book watched the Apple series am yeah it's a lot Bri Larson I have an aity for her anyway so did you read the book I did not read the book I need to I didn't even watch the series but I saw the trailer and I'm dying I need it's so good everything about and it's a quick read you'll read it in like week I I literally was going to go to Barnes & Nobles yesterday and then I didn't end up going and I missed it I need to go to get yes go I want to I'm gonna read you must all right we talk about it now seriously well we've been here for 40 minutes so wow you're right when time flies you're having a good time something that you want everyone to know about you specifically before we leave okay um and where to watch you how to Champion you how to find you again find your podcast like this is your moment right here R and get to it it's a lot of pressure um okay so I do do a radio show at Cape Cog Community College on the on 90.7 and Thursday mornings um it's I've done a radio show there like every Thursday for a couple weeks now it's part of a project but I'll probably keep it up next and what has your show been like it's honestly been like a little roller coaster I just kind of do whatever I want and that's the fun thing about it though you can it's like so great I first I started I did like a couple Marvel movie reviews cuz I was like I was in my Marvel phase at that point and I was like oh Iron Man I got to tell people how I feel about this this is such a new and unique take it wasn't I was I was like Tony sarry so funny but that's the excitement of it I feel like when you just find something out our everyone as people your natural thing is to tell everyone you know my mind was just blown anybody else everyone's like I already I do that girl we knew that years ago where have you been no yeah it's an Awakening it's good I like that enthusiasm that's that's infectious I feel like that that brings happiness to people right and that's all I want to do I found out a long time ago at like one of my first jobs that all I really wanted to do was interact with other humans that's why I'm in Communications like I just love talking to new people like helping people I it's so great and it leaves you like I know it's kind of selfish but it leaves you such a good feeling you feel like a good person and that's like what are you going to do in the world we're on a floating Rock In Space the best you can do is try to be kind to people I appreciate that very much I love about the same sentiment so it's good good yeah yeah like just try to live your life in the best like happiest way you can do it and my first job I was a elf on a Christmas train okay yeah and so I just like I love that train I met a bunch of little kids that they just adored it and I was like so happy to make that happy wouldn't it be nice to have that just simple joy all the time I was so I so it is possible yeah that brought me back to like when I was younger at Christmas like being an elf and helping other kids like it literally reminded me of my childhood which was so cute you know we're all chasing that yeah exactly chase the joy in your life those are the places you need to be chasing yeah and some I also talked about Greek mythology on the podcast I talked about Taylor Swift celebrities Greek mythology huh yeah I was I had a Percy Jackson face I'm here for it Middle School was I read a lot of books a lot I like Percy Jackson the series is coming out in the 20th I'm so pumped me and my best me and my friend Liz are gonna watch it I will not talk about anything else for like a whole month probably there are worse things to be into she's my mom's sick of it I can't help it yeah so yeah I had a whole Greek mythology phase so I talked about like my take on like Medusa and polytheus and all that stuff like that so fun yeah so yeah and then you can listen to I think all three of my girly gossip podcast like little the mini ones I put out the link on um Spotify so you can listen to it there if you look up girly gossip podcast perfect your pocket size podcast my Madonna's makeup show in January really I don't know I feel like she's grasping at too many straws at this point but I'm here for it I'm G to go I'm in the nose bed section umad I'm G to be singing my Madonna songs and I don't have to focus Too Much I Feel Like The Closer you get the more I'll pick her apart so I feel like I'm better off in the rafters because I can just enjoy the music and I don't have to be like why did she get those butt implants why is she wearing that yeah yeah just don't worry about it that I really have to remove myself from the critical spot and just I'll put me in the back let me enjoy the music with my girlfriend and I'm going to have a good time I love that yes exactly I love concerts yeah what was the last show you went to Taylor I shouldn't have asked I should have just known Som howow we always bring it back it it just keeps coming around and I appreciate that I Lisa said you're also a singer oh yeah I yeah I was in a lot I was a theater kid I do a lot of things in high school and I was I did Priscilla beach for a while so fun shout out my grandmother she's watching she paid for the Priscilla Beach it's such a great spot to go see a show i' highly suggest you get to Priscilla Beach at some point I think that they just released their schedule for um the spring so that's a great little gift gift some theater tickets gift an experience in the Arts you're not going to go wrong it was so great looking up at all the like older kids too that were performing like I was pretty young when I did it so like watching all these kids that like love theater and did it out of school was so cool and they were all amazing and I was so happy to be there and yeah one of my favorite shows I actually talked about with Miss Z was um we did Mama Mia so good I loved it it was my favorite thing ever so yeah I and it's one of my favorite movies too yeah it's really good yeah so good it was so great the first time I ever watched that was at my grandmother's rented beach house so it's all good vibes there hi Mimi perfect well I'm really excited to see what you're going to do next and we'll all be watching you can drop whatever link that you want to um in
