foreign well hello and good morning it is Sunday Funday here at knock about hey Miss Meg hello owner of knock about one of them anyway her with her husband Pete and uh I got the chance to sit and uh Brew with you a little bit this week yeah it was fun yeah I really didn't do anything you did all the work you did I was so impressed with your math so tell everybody what we were brewing for on International women's day on Wednesday so we were Brewing not only to give a shout out to all the ladies that are a part of the company but also to benefit the pink boots society which they work towards getting scholarships for women in the field and so we just wanted to support them you basically did science I just watched it is a lot of science yeah it's kind of a crazy thing one of my friends recently shared something like being brave enough to try something you suck at yeah okay I like that good morning Jane so it's been fun it's definitely a challenge and I've been lucky enough to have people supporting me and showing me what to do but it was really cool just to watch you like take charge and you're like okay the time is up go get that fill the salt measure that now we're going downstairs now we measure the Hops yeah it was a lot of measuring and you did a good director multitasking for sure yeah being a Mom prepares you for all the things you have to do I was dying when you and I were chatting because this week you know it's never an easy week for being a mom and you have two small girls and not only that were you like Fairy Godmother to how many dogs this week a lot we've had a lot of dogs at the house seriously but running a brewery it's like you are not only the boss but also like the friend and the person that needs to like make sure everybody's mental Wellness is good everyone's physical wellness is good and now watch your dog while you go on vacation sure it's crazy it is but it's fun yeah you're lots of hats that's what I like I like to be busy and keep it going so we brewed on Wednesday and I got a little taste of what it is working with because it's a process and we've got a release party coming up at the end of the month six yeah this month so you can come you can support the ladies you can try what uh what Meg basically cooked up for us and we were all just kind of there we were your lackeys for the day it needs a little help yeah so in front of us right now we've got the Lucky Lager which is on draft right now here at knock about since you know it's Patty's Day you have the Canali school here yesterday and you're gonna have them again on Friday yep they'll be here at five on Friday so all right check them out yeah so we're looking forward to that what else is going on here because you guys always have something every day also on Friday right after the Irish dancers we have beer pong um on Thursday Friday the day before St Patty's we have an Irish Market with bootstrap Farms oh I love it they have really good produce and meats also comedy night is also on Thursday so they have a rope yes definitely follow you can get the tickets there and it's a really good time follow them on social follow them um we're just go to their website and you can see what you have for comedy coming up all the time instant rotating staff here and today we've got Ella's Pizza is the best I'm really excited for it they've got a new Pizza Wagon that is here and I'm I'm using that term very Loosely because it is pretty awesome in there I'm gonna make a pizza Beautiful trailer yeah come check it out yes um Meg anything else that you want people to know about knock about just come have fun that's what we're all about so come and hang out yeah and it is family friendly like I said she's got the girls here there's always kids stuff to do they've got the VHS always rolling I love the movies it makes my heart Happy it is fun watching different things especially you get like a lull and you put on a good movie and you feel gonna say my poem about the Oscars perfect yes the fact still the facsimile of Captain T spitwell while he sings to you about the Oscars oh coveted Oscar a tribute to the movie stars some actors may win some actors May wind with tears flowing like an ocean brine longing for that 400 statue to be mine but like ibonical so hard to scrape some actors cling to a hopeful fate from the soda shop Fountain where you were first discovered till that Podium moment when you are thanking the academy and your mother an Oscar you are neither a grouch a hot dog or a slob I want those to sink in but you were regretfully never given my favorite given to my favorite movie 1965's horror Masterpiece The Blob which rhymed with the previous episodes starring Stephen McQueen thank you all thank you very talk to me about that how'd that go um yeah it was a roller coaster you know um every day was pretty much a different scenario didn't really know what I was going to get into I mean I'm on a radio show now so that happens yeah back to the grind tomorrow finishing up senior year are you gonna be so bored going back to school this week yeah I'm going back to my little apartment in Providence and everybody need to be doing this everybody really loved your story and shared with us if you missed it on the live uh Brianna joined us on Friday and shared with us some of the finer moments of leaving Cape Cod moving to a city and having her catalytic converter stolen from her car she went to a club that was my rent gosh yeah people definitely felt that moment right there but you had so much to share with us and a lot of our listeners were like when are you having her back she needs to be a regular contributor oh yeah I'm always down I mean I'm only an hour and 20 minutes away so I think if I leave at like six Maybe I can definitely be there well we were talking all kinds of business about breakfast pizza and so that's why she was like wait a minute breakfast pizza I'm coming to knock about on Sunday so Ella's just rolled up they've got a brand new truck they've got a brand new location that they just opened up in Marion which is like between Providence and here yeah and their food is fantastic they do a great job what did you do for the weekend what is a 24 something year old do on the weekend these days hang out with my mother yeah laughs that's what the cool kids do seriously though oh yeah uh no had some mom time we had a nice little wine night Friday and then I had some dinner over at the lanes in Mashpee Commons oh there you go a little bit of bowling and then went to my friends and sat in the hot tub on a very cold night that's so fun yeah so underrated it was great and then you got to get out and walk back inside yeah right when the cold kind of hits you pretty pretty hard yeah second guessed everything but yeah it was worth it it's definitely still a little pruney but it's fine supposedly that is like your body's um response to being able to grab things it's like a raisin I don't know well that's what it's supposed to do to like toughen it up so like give you tracks or whatever to like hold on to things it's like your body adapting which I didn't know I just thought I got too much water so good morning Kathy thank you so much for joining us we're here at knock about as we are every single Sunday for Sunday fun day and uh you never know who's another mimosa we do have a lot of brunch drinks here at knock about whether it's a hard Seltzer uh and if you're not drinking they've got some root beer and some other fine wears I am beside that right now yeah I'm having the tide 71 which is my favorite right now Beach here is also a big fan and people love the margarita Seltzer so you can try that awesome um everything gets out of the way for this green fluid substance in that uh uh absolutely Lucky Lager is on fire yeah I don't know where they decided that it was just we need to have a green beverage for Patty's day let's do it whether it's a river in Chicago or whether it's great in your beer are a brewer master in Massachusetts it comes upon you on a dream a right around March maybe I have friends that are in um fukajima Japan right now and they had a huge Patty's Day Parade there yesterday and I was like that's real and the thousands of people showed up for this parade I was like wow see you think about this Brianna but it said that the converted St Patrick's people are more dedicated to the parades and display even more profound you know like faith in St Patrick's then some of the traditional maybe possibly for years I think that's more the alcohol there's booze what wait let's go exactly so I'm really looking forward to the tune that you have cooked up for us well ladies and gentlemen I've heard a very wonderful tale about uh the whales that got through the canal a few weeks ago uh and were assisted by our Municipal services and the traffic was halted on both Bridges so they could swim on through the canal undaunted Okay so so coincidentally and as you know for the past 50 years I've been a part of something called the whale Whisperer Foundation yes I did know that uh so what we do is every year we put out a um you know a call for people to uh be mindful of whales and remember that they are the big mammals out there that keep us all in tune with this great big spinning Earth they're the biggest thing related to our own human beings as man right you know so so they're a big part of the world so what we do is we have a drawing contest okay and um we've had uh 10 000 kids enter it that is pretty incredible that's right ten thousand kids have entered over the years and uh we have the winning uh picture here uh but um I can show you what it is yeah let's see that the winning photo Cliff you wanna oh wow wow wow 10 000 entries ten thousand yeah ten thousand interest in that that's the winner ten ten thousand so uh so what is the prize I mean for that wants to know what the prize is well okay first prize uh is a one hour harnessed ride on one of the whales at sea so that's exciting right it's a little dangerous well I said harnessed uh and you know well look here's a photo of the winner after the uh one hour ride what do you think uh does he have a beard how old is that child oh 50 years that's right they've been submitting for 50 years I forgot that is a grown man as a grown man to a whale should I show it to the public yeah no I no that's no I um entries next year probably probably not he had a big smile afterwards believe me we had a big party for him it was great wow so but I did write a song based on the whole Affair uh of the letting the whales through oh okay I want you to know what it is all right even the whale Whisperer Foundation theme song WWF just a different one the rights of whale the rights of ways oh right whales always have the right away so let them through to swim undaunted let them pass along giant longed mammals of the sea they are the ones and remind us to save ourselves so stop the traffic on the Cape Cod Bridges and let them wails on through yeah everybody so let them through let them through to swim undaunted to swim let them pass along why are giant longed animals of the sea I don't think I could do that they are the ones the one who can remind us to save ourselves so stop the traffic on the Cape Cod Bridges and let the right whales on through stop the traffic on the bridges and let the right Wells swim on through wow that is incredible oh yeah thank you from the whale Whisperer Foundation all the way to your whale sized hearts out there it's fabulous yep listen to that round of applause here at Knox about it is absolutely incredible deafening in fact I need to say hi to the captain yeah definitely go touch go talk to Captain Smith well so Sunday Funday happens here every single Sunday and you never know what you're gonna get here and it is truly an open mic so if you've got a business if you have a non-profit if you've got something going on in this town or adjacent swing on by and talk about it and that's what we have here at Sunday Funday Brianna definitely needs a drink after that I think she's like wait a minute yeah I would not be opposed to one yeah you didn't think we would make you speechless this morning did you I mean I was with you at 7 A.M on Wednesday I mean Friday oh my gosh should I have a drink and Wednesday I think you definitely need a drink I think that that is a prerequisite to hanging out with me oh yeah what do you have planned for this week how do you get back into the swing of things like everybody's got their issue with daylight savings time and like trying to get functioning again today I couldn't I couldn't get it going I really couldn't what is the best advice as a personal trainer that you can give to just get back into the swing of your week just just do it just wake up and do it I mean the more you think about it at least the more I think about it the more excuses I come up with well that's it how many fights do you have in your brain every single morning that voice literally the 10 minutes after my alarm goes off I sit there and I'm like okay no no yeah I don't know but all right let's just do it so yeah get up do it start it off right and then you know reevaluate on Friday have fun and do it again good morning Christiana Good morning Joe ellia I might see you at the Oscar party tonight if I have any juice left in me today so my friend Ted Murphy every single year hosts this Oscar party and basically it's just an excuse for his friends to come over and have a couple of beverages that we themed towards the movies I started watching everything everywhere all at once it is good for the first 20 minutes I gave it attention to I did watch Saturday Night Live this morning which is my Sunday habit okay so Jenna Ortega actually did a really good job oh my gosh she was really good watching that seriously well she was the youngest host at 20 years old to host Saturday Night Live Fred Armisen stopped on by because he was in Wednesday with her for a hot second so that I thought that was cute and uh I think being a young person as you are do you feel like it's hard that people don't give you credit for the things that you say as you're becoming this expert in your Fitness fields I mean of course well also too you gotta remember I've been doing this not as long as people that are you know older and have more you know to back them up but at the end of the day like I feel like the younger generation has you know a higher input or different inputs on how things should be done yeah so it's a new voice and I think we kind of touched upon that on Friday a little bit oh totally I'm always ready for something new and something different and I think that you know as we're getting older I think we get so set in our ways and we don't like change that I think it's so good that I have and talk to people like you yes and well I also need a new way of doing things and sometimes smarter not harder exactly so sometimes it's harder but right exactly yeah totally so I definitely need to reset and get this week going because I feel like before we know it it's going to be full on summer here and you know what that's like on the cape what do you miss about it at all if anything living here full-time ah um not the traffic no but that's one thing that I will be dealing with coming back and forth this summer which yeah I'm not looking forward to um honestly I mean I'm probably gonna be here most the summer yes I'm not missing that right how much money or how many catalytic converters get stolen I am going to be here regardless of my bank account um honestly just like the beach and like the people yeah you know not as many tourists but you know what I mean locals out there I I definitely task you with this same message of try and actually enjoy the setting that you spend a gazillion dollars on trying to have and live and learn your back roads yeah no because everybody knows that now because of ways I know you've ruined it ways yeah this is true yeah this whole area nothing I know well that's just you be reminded that if you're in traffic on 130 knock about is a great spot to stop in and have a libation before you get back and then have to deal with more traffic so definitely swing
