saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I I really stopped at CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual just had a visual I proud of it hello and good morning it is Friday yes I know I look like I'm in an empt Studio but I'm not I've got zavia over here with me thank you for joining me thank you for having me so why don't you introduce yourself because I feel like you only you can introduce the fabulousness that is xavia you have so many wonderful projects uh fellow eforall girly who has come onto the scene and has just been like can do that I can do that introduce yourself thank you so my name is zavier I am a fashion designer with my brand Xavier Walker I'm wearing an original Xavier Walker today with a painting that I made I'm also a caterer with my company Z eats and I just love art and I love food and I love everything about them and so I found a way to merge both my loves into what I'm calling pop-up Street Cape Cod which will feature local artists and local chefs to you know promote their products get to know the local community so um you did eforall you did that for your fashion brand yes I did eforall for my fashion you were um eforall has this space in the mash P comons which I believe that you got to be for yeah that's amazing it was amazing MH Commons is so gorgeous and just the Ambiance of the place is lovely um so you did that experience and then you didn't just rest on now I've got my own fashion brands now my got my own this if you'll notice Jonathan Thompson is now joining us on the show today good morning headphones microphone you're ready to go so zav is talking about her brand new pop-up Street Cap Cod which I saw PS Cape Cod come through my mailbox and I was like how flipping cute is that for a brand I like that right good morning so you're finally ready to launch you've been kind of putting all these fabulous interests together you've got art and you've got fashion and you've got food and you've got this community and now you're like okay well we're going to roll all this together and all of your because you are another person that is continually educating themselves I appreciate that with growth comes a little change pretty much all the time yeah definitely yeah talk about your popup so the popups for me when I just came to the cape it was really hard to you know navigate the space as an artist I couldn't get my my products in stores I didn't know you know where to go and so it was hard for me and I did it and I would love to help others to you know not have that the difficulty or the level of difficulty that I had while trying to you know get to know the community and put my art out into the community and so popup street is going to be a space for artists to come introduce their products to the community and you know connect with the community in this way build an audience and you know get to test their products on the market in an intimate immersive way I think that's amazing that you're kind of taking the sting out of throwing yourself out there to the community because it's kind of a safe space for an artist to come that's already like I did all the heavy lifting for you guys just show up and shine which is really nice exactly you've got your first event coming up yes so my first event is going to be on April 6 it's going to be 278 hyanis Main Street from 2: p.m. to 6: p.m. it's going to be awesome we're going to have an artist doing live live drawing of the guests hug and we're going to have a mixture of food desserts then we're going to have fashion we're going to have jewelry we're going to have uh belonging books with some art and food books I'm excited about that and we're going to have eeper all there recruiting uh artists and business owners for the accelerator program you know so that they can get that uh foundational educational part of it definitely yeah I know April 6 mark it on your calendar write it down local chefs food vendors artists Artisans what time again 2 to 6 6m perfect I get done with my other event at one o'clock look JT and I always stack in our days hold on I want I want us everybody else to be able to you've got a few other events that are happening as far as talk to me about the blind food tasting thing oh my God amazing so the blind food tasting is it's kind of like a surprise menu okay and so you're GNA sign up for this event not knowing what the food will be until you get there however if there is you know you're glutenfree or dairy free or anything like that then you can send us an email and then we'll tell you beforehand what it is or if it is for you know gluten-free or dairy free people who have allergies and then some of the blind food tasting will be you'll have like a gluten-free night or a darree night or vegan night because we love food and we love Global flavors yeah oh we desperately need that around here honestly some flavor please thank you yeah you don't get a body like this without testing food you look really good right now shut up app aider vinegar I also want to mention so I've been approached by artists all the time wanting to know how can I get my art onto clothing like you do because you know at the beginning of the show I told you that I painted this thing here and then I got it onto clothing so popup Street Cape Cod is having a workshop all the way in June so people have time to prepare and save for it where we're going to show artists step by step how to get your art from Canvas OR paper or photograph onto clothing using the Drop Shipping model so no investing in inventory way easier and you just focus on being creative yeah because there is that stress of having a box full of your merchandise in your car while you're driving around the think my God if you could just drop ship it and take that off of your plate that really does someone else ships it someone else handles everything for you when you just promote and focus on your art yeah yeah exactly and I think artists need more of these you've got some Sip and paints that are organizing as well and uh definitely just check out her website popup Street Cape Cod if you're looking to organize an event which zie you and I are going to be talking because we've got our Mash P farmers market that I'm I'm getting ready to announce Farmers Market I I just talking about yesterday I know I went to the farmers market conference yesterday with the other I right I was in Framingham yesterday with the farmers hilarious so I'm also in the same pursuit of reaching out Community Gathering the people and showcasing what people are good at and where they are where they are in their life so I'm super excited to be able to work with you zavia and maybe have a popup Street Cape Cod at one of our markets we would love to have you organize that because it's just food it's Community it's the things that we desperately need and uh I I'm so thrilled to have you launch this and we'll uh we'll all be there supporting you so let's do it I'll be there yeah rtb says hello JT all so good morning good morning good morning Mari um anything you want to leave us with zavia before you go uh I think I just want to say that we are much better together when we work together as a community and I would just love for the local community to come out and support the artists in this way because you know being an artist and teaching and doing all these different kind of things that artists have to do in order to pay their bills or to go on vacation it's really hard and if they just get some more support I think that would help in a big way 100% we're not sitting here with 401ks and getting planning for our retirement we're always working it's what an artist does Lisa says those arti those farmers are still talking uh Nathan JT my man good morning good morning Danielle says hello and good luck everyone hey cam what's going on DAV we are really pumped for Popup Street Cape Cod so be looking for you we can how do we support you do we follow you is there on social media at popup Street Cape Cod or website is popup Street capecod.com and you can always email us info popup stre capecod.com Marie says hello everyone and Lisa said come talk to the Cape Cod Children's Museum they would love to have you organize an event oh my go so definitely definitely this is where Community meets everybody and we're really excited for it saav we'll talk to you soon thank you for having me bye oh she's fabulous that is awesome I know I walked at the right time well I'm really excited for the food portion right now I'm working on it yeah so yesterday I was in Framingham working with all the farmers markets across Massachusetts and talking about food insecurities and SNAP benefits and hip benefits and this and what are we going to have for this and you everyone was so excited to have mashpi there because I don't know if you know that mashpi is a food desert I do not know was food Des I never heard the word food Des right I've never heard the word before so I was like wow then tell me more we don't have have a functioning Farm in Mash B are you serious yeah we have one small little Farm Stand but we don't have a fully functioning Farm in Mash P that almost makes no sense to me like I feel like that's a lie right right I feel like the N the the the wamp and ogs I'm sure have farming land but it's not an organized Farm okay what about mean that's open to other people yeah what about is no that's Falmouth that's Falmouth that's fouth that's right that makes no sense it's it's wild to me so we desperately need some other food options so uh we we have taken up this space and we're really excited to launch it this year we understand this is our first year and everybody out there understand that this is our first year so we're working through a lot right you know I was what I was talking about yesterday what's up Sunny good morning Sunny um what I was talking about yesterday to my cousin they used to be the farmers market in hyas on on Main Street right at the church like on Wednesdays between like I think it was like 11: to like 2 or three or something like that where did that go I don't know I don't know right now uh Province Town is doing a really good job sustainable Cape is doing an awesome job Provincetown Truro they've got their markets fully functioning we've had a nice winter Market over here in Falmouth yeah uh that's done a really nice job over at St Barnabas but nothing in the middle so I feel like that this just needs to to come to us and we need to find where food is because I mean if you can get actually sourced produce and you can use your snap and hit benefits for these things we need to start eating better and taking care of ourselves oh listen I I will see a food market I will buy if I see something that's local and and you know from table to you know from Farm to Table like I love that yeah and we have to get away from this and we we had a good laugh about it but I mean sometimes they can be um a little bit daunting to people it's not all artisanal cheeses it's more just eating healthier for your lifestyle and having it available what's up Sandy hey Dave thank you for joining us on the show hey Miss Bri I'll get back to you hopefully I will see you a little bit later today i' I've been Whirlwind you're a whirlwind two of us are cataclysmic my God like they we should be on the weather they put us put on the Weather that I got I got this it seems yeah if I'm not there so Stephanie prob be there so I that's I feel we we try to cover as we do and we do a good job of respecting each other's spaces but also throw in when we need to where do you need to be all right you go get that oh I I will I will text Stephanie it doesn't matter what time it is because I know she back Stephanie are you available this date Shenanigans oh my God I could meet Mickey Ward last week oh my God what how was that how again I went we did the parade yeah um you know shout out to barrels you know Excavating was you know on the back of the truck Angel's playing I'm doing did not fall off the truck I I well I heard that you were the highlight of the show because um there were some other people that were a little bit disappointed with the floats in there this year I think I don't know what happened I think St Patty's really just crept up on us and then people were like oh wait the paray let's throw some stuff in there yeah we're gonna start now promoting that's a good thing 100% right but um I thank you whoever liked it we I enjoyed it and if people we didn't know and uh I got some stuff to throw out from different people for you know Ryan oh I know Ryan is the best we're there Tuesdays and Thursdays for dinner date date nights Billy I love going to places in the afternoon I love thought you're talking about the daytime dance party oh yeah I think it's the new it's just it's nice it's safe you're home by dark absolutely weting a good time listen we don't do late nights anymore even trying to find a bite to eat past 8:00 pm is like a it's work it's it is because if if they like 35 45 minutes I'm like all right so if I leave here I try to go down there put a park shout out to the staff over at BNB uh very much a late night place so if you're looking for food they've got it oh you need pizza hey Christian oh my good sometimes I do miss home cooking on West Main Street that was that was from 11: to like 400 am. I miss it right steamed up window couldn't even tell what was going on in the pot so now we just now we go early we go early and that's our time of day now we just we party during the day we do party my girl wants to party all the time that's it yes that we're doing it um Nathan what about Jaylen Brown last night I was at the Celtics game be Sons at the dunk nice well that's awesome Celtics have morning so it's pretty pumped for a Friday it is yes we are Julia said we're old that's why we go to bed early Hey listen it's a good time of day fact no one says nothing bad happens at 2 in the afternoon no go no nothing too much traffic it's that late night business that you guys all getting in trouble for we just do that stuff during daytime hours if we are not out of the house by by 6:30 not going sweatpants in Shark Tank on Friday I so wanted to go out last night and see AJ's birthday comedy show over at knockabout and I got home from Framingham and I finished one of the podcasts I had to edit and I was like it was seven I know you had texted me and I woke up this morning I was like oh this is I am literally that Meme that says if you text me at 10 p.m. I will respond to you at 5:00 a.m. oh yeah that is my life I I texted you right before I went to sleep I'm like I'm just about to let me just send I was in full on REM I know I'm out it just was a super long week I had a really challenging week this week did you I had really full days I've been super grumpy not sleeping enough not getting like all of the things that I needed I'm just how many hours do you sleep at night um anywhere between four and six all right so you're we're in the same neighborhood yeah is that a is that a steady six yeah it's fine I'm out when I'm out I'm out right I'm like a top okay I'm up where are we going okay all right so when we're out we I can go to sleep pretty easy I'm out like I don't have really a problem going actually at leici she gets mad because she's like so was I thinking about I'm already she how do you sleep so quick because our brain is like super lightning so that when we decide that it's off it's off these are facts and that's when I take my nap every day in the afternoon there you go I don't do it in the bedroom you got to do it on the couch you got to do it on the chair because the couch and the chair knows you're only there for a temporary it just knows I don't know why but it just knows the bed said oh welcome home it brings you in differently so smart yeah only and I do like 20 minutes yeah if you're going in the bed today is National No napping Day by the way he's like I'm not gonna handle it I don't think I can actually nap tonight anyways because we have a we have a I have the school we have a school party tonight so oh nice yeah talk about some of the school parties I love that you are super J like it is like wrangling snakes and cats oh my God best form of birth control ever but it's so fun no um we get to do all these dances with like anyone from like second grade and up and the West Villages all these places and you're tracking like two to 400 kids at a time and they're coming at you and they're like and angel I'm like Angel look at angel I'm like you ready and they're like they're at the door like the is at 6 let by 20 of let's get it ready how do you handle the little clicks because I definitely I we all specialize in PTO dances kids dances dealing with kids big groups of kids and inevitably there are clicks there are breakouts there are the girls there are the boys yes there's the this group and I'm finding now since we I don't know pandemic yeah that our music choices are very Divergent and making a group of people happy really doesn't ever happen no it doesn't happen and and I when it comes to that we have to make an announcement in the very beginning yeah listen if there's not a clean version and it's like our version clean not your version of the clean version like I'm pretty sure it's clean I'm like that's not clean and it's because they're becoming oblivious to a lot of the words I'm like that's a bad word like that's a bad word right and a lot of these kids only want to hear a certain part of the song which is like the hook for like you know 10 seconds and like now can you play I'm like it's a it's add music yeah they even my daughter's like that in the car where it's like just next next next I'm like I I take away the ox from her I'm like no more no more you're giving me anxiety exactly and then we have some kids that come up can you play Eminem this I'm like well they say can you play some uh Apple Bottom Jeans okay I'm like I'm like where's your parents and they're like over there I'm like good job raising your kids on some good music like so or some 80s stuff and um there's a lot of 80s stuff I did uh hope John Paul I I did one of their dances and they they loved like some rock music and I was like all right some Beatles music being requested oh my God meanwhile the Taylor Swift Squad was very unhappy about that and then the anti- Taylor Swift Squad was very unhappy about that listen you Swift you swifties from 8 to 80 because I guess I saw some old you got to be patient we'll get to your song We'll weave them in when we can they can't just feed straight Taylor Swift for two hours although we did do that over at Ryan's on Tuesday we had a Taylor Swift music Bingo Amina out there thank you so much for handling that she's fabulous uh capod pickle company she runs and also the drunken bee farmer the pickles the pickles and Marvel oh the pickles Celebration going on bangers Mas and I'm super pumped that KNC has gone to their aluminum cups so we're working towards a sustainable cup the only Brewery on the cape with sustainable cups right now I mean a can of beer is a can of beer it's still aluminum but when you start pouring into plastic cups are the nips gone Mash P has I don't know I think mashby has I know Falmouth has I I think it's town by town okay there are still nips out there not that I'm not that I'm a nip guy right now because I'm I'm older and I'm like I don't like there's nobody there's no reason for me to rush and suck down a drink to you know anything like that but I was like hm I just try to justif I'm trying to see like why certain things are I will once in a while buy nips for even some baking stuff like a raspberry flavored something where I'm not I do not want a whole bottle that I've got a whole Liquor Cabinet of like full bottles of stuff I needed a drop of or a sip of and I'm like what I don't I hate throwing things away I got some old liquor from my mom's from my mom's father I mean my mother's stepfather that's probably full of water too from when we were kids oh my God I don't even know this company I'm like are they around this is moonshine they dusting off the bottle what's up pent hey Liz Lauren Huck what's going on Huck when are you g to come in with all of your fabulous boxing belts that you've been Winning boxing belt boxing belts boxing belt he just came back from Vegas wait who are you talking about Huck Thomas H yeah yeah yeah yeah hucker he started um boxing again at 40 listen you can sing rap whatever you want it doesn't matter if you can get up and move make it happen listen I saw your dance moves on the back of that float you posted that video and I was like he's going to die or fall off that thing you didn't I turned it into a dance move you really did my microphone stay went down I kicked I wanted to pick it and kick it like Prince but I was like don't want that to happen so I slowly pulled it back up turned it into a dance move yeah I really I thank you I was very impressed by your moves I got to say I felt like it was the JT of the the days of your when you were in the singing group shout shout out to CBD the knees baby listen that was me on Wednesday I was like I've reached this point in my life where I just CBD on my knees and I was in my bed like a crab was put it in on the knees put it in on the backside I was like chillian no put the lotion in the basket I'm trying I mean listen I went to the doctor I got saw the nutritionist saw the dietician saw the this I'm doing the things can we get one building where everybody's in the same spot so I can just go from door to door right so much better one day I'm just serious I think that would be perfect it's not tiny houses it's just going to be a hospital Wing by the time you get to us seriously that's what they should have turned mhill into mil mhill should have been a One-Stop specifically beautiful and with our Mash B farmers market and working with the full community to make sure people are fed we're getting better healthier options that's what we need I know really really I know working with Jenny wheeler Over The Family Table collaborative I got to um showcase her entire trip her in Mary O'Keefe just went to Africa I heard Amsterdam and they um you know just learning some food practices she got to go cook with her nanas which she wants to do her new cookbook is coming out with uh her cooking with Grandma's and just tradition preserving some food traditions recipes I miss I wish that we knew some of the stuff my grandma used to make and it's like she's from Barbados and it's like certain meals like the way she made them and it's the way you like there's something called CC and it's like there's cornmeal and then there's salmon but it's the way you have to like grind the cornmeal certain way which is really hard work yeah to do that cuz it has to dried out but not too dry right and then it's a salon and there onions and way to put the stuff on it and it's lemon um my mother had someone she went back to Barbados and uh somebody brought it to her hotel that knew she was looking for and she's she go I had crying so tast um because there's so much love there's so much time there's so much preparedness that goes into making these dishes and we as a society are just so busy and so Zip Zip AI all this next next next throw it away it doesn't work anymore that we really do need to just slow down absolutely um so JT's Chronicles my nonprofit and um setting the tone so what we actually do is we start off from going from one end of the cape to the next all during the summertime go to different businesses every um weekend and we want to make people's life a little bit better so I might meet Stephanie somewhere I don't know you and um I like oh Stephanie where you from like I'm from adbor like okay what's that one thing that you want for your family your friends for your community in every they could say Okay I want more I want more peace for you know for my husband and I for my kids like you know and we write stuff on this board with big vision board and then we put it out there because closed mouths don't get fed so we say nothing nothing happens and then we want to bring that energy to community to people and they leave here feeling like so much better and then when people donate at the end of the summer we have a big party for the kids so it'll be a big one this year where it'll be music there will be giveaway it'll just be setting the tone for a great school year nice and that's what it's all about y so positivity in your school conversations that you're having with our community our kids need to be seen constant and excuse me I went to a white ribbon day um in an oriens Police Department the other day and it's like that the white ribbon day is all about um you taking a pledge to stop violence to protect one another to um excuse me love those allergies um uh sex trafficking all these things like you need to be aware of these things and talk to the kids and like be social make the kids like understand like there's more good going on like we need to like work together yeah don't be afraid to say something the kids see something all sudden they want to take their phone out and start recording like no D like you should be helping right you know don't just videotaping because these kids are becoming desensitized because they see so much crap on on social media all day like oh I saw that before Oh I saw that before I've seen that oh yeah nothing shocks them that's the problem so if you have if you you're becoming desensitized nothing shocks you that's the problem because your emotions are just tied up and it's like and it's like it's not good and that's why like these my my young men also you have to learn how to get that emotion out and like stop holding on to things and just like you keep compounding because like Society tells you oh you can't cry you can't do this and you got Tough Enough got tough up for this and like dude no you have I think that you're really good at showing vulner ability and showing our our youth that it's okay to be a little bit vulnerable sometimes because you can't stack it all away right thank you and that's and that's why and I get these messages I've gotten calls I got letters from other schools and kids when I when I spoke at their classes and it's like I wish you can come back or thanks the bullies the bullies weren't mean to us after you left like the whole week was awesome I'm like what and these like kids writing them the principal writing yeah and the secret like and kids that had other issues other kids were actually helping them like when I was in fam one day yeah last year and they actually there's a CH one kid that just when they get upset they just want to take off and yeah the kid the kids pulled them back good and they were like no no no no I I'm not gonna say her name but they reached out and like helped her calm down and come back in I got a text from one of the teachers and secretaries that day to like we were talking about that yeah about protecting each other yeah you have to you don't know what these kids are going through you have no idea and unfortunately it seems to a lot right now I think that yeah that initial cool down period is also a good space give it a minute but you have to go back in and have those conversations with these kids and I think a lot of people are just opting because we are so glued to our phones and devices not to have actual conversations with people I think we're kind of losing that conversation a lot and I'm excited that you're going in and having those talks with the kids so that they learn how to talk to each other right in the more sponsors we get so we'll do it like summer school's like we don't you know our budg I'm like already taken care of I done places and and I was like and understand stop pretending that your school doesn't have any issues stop pretending that it's like oh we're pretty good over here no you're not no no one's no one's pretty good right now need to talk to everybody you guys keep sweeping under the rug like there's nothing going on and that's a problem that's why because nobody's held accountable for anything and a lot of parents aren't holding their kids accountable it's hard to deal with and when you don't know what to do with it you usually just walk over it you know what I mean like oh I'll deal with that later well it's a there's a whole lot of deal with it later yeah then you got go which one are you dealing with you just put you just push about 20 back there Rick Buress I learned to never dig up the sand in the volleyball court at parf for belly you never know what you'd find no you shouldn't no you shouldn't Megan goes I forgot about that volleyball court those are the good old days right there that was a beautiful area we had so much fun out there though we can't have nice things we ruin it for everybody it only takes one person to ruin it should Stephie we should have got on a a 60y year pay plan I know yeah seriously John Morgan we want this we'll put a little something on it this week so fun but I mean that is the thing we need the the places for the Youth to go I'm super excited what we're doing over at the Boys and Girls Club we've got our teen center that we're working on building and it's like coming to life right now it's happening let me know pleas the plans are already done for it we just need money so everybody come on it's wonderful that we've got all these fabulous things in mashby which is a nice central location for everybody to go because our youth do need places to go they do yeah yeah no um even when uh flag football um with Tim now now about to start the 10th year are you gonna see Timmy because I've got a pair like a couple PA of cleat I'd like to donate that have never been worn absolutely I'm gonna see Timmy today all right so like when one of the Foot Lockers or something was going out of business I bought a bunch for my son but obviously he he's got a size 15 now and he's you never know where your kids's gonna jump in in the season and I've got all these like brand new cleats and I'm like oh I'll just give them to Timmy yeah because there's kids that need it we used to have we used to have the um when I used to play hockey we had the uh swap table Yeah at the Kenny's G yes big table like two or three four tables with old equipment that people couldn't wear or they donated and you just go every mom caregiver foster parent knows what it's like to keep a kid in shoes while they're growing right now exact so impossible and exponentially expensive oh exactly the shoes Chris Christy doyo we need a roller skating ring again I think the insurance is incredibly High I want a roller skating rings so badly I do I'm not gonna lie I love all now the now I know the downfall would be because we're not gonna go out every week like we used to no physically can't do that can't do it my insurance will be through the roof but I like I do want a place that we could actually a big I need the space I went I went to pelm house a couple times yeah but a time I just but when I I'm getting the spe I need room I need room yeah I need room for me to fall into a tuck and Woll like M needs room to roam exactly I need to slide into my fall I need some space we do have adult Rock night which is coming up uh if you follow my page Stephanie in the morning it's under there Wildwater Collective is putting it on we do it twice three times a year as much as we possibly can but it's just I'll play the old school hits yeah last time I was there there like Are you seriously Stephy from the rose I was like yes he's like you're just you're too young for that I'm like you can stay here all day stand next to me your voice is unique so that's like people just don't understand like well I always sounded like a 60-year-old Scotch and Soda smoker so it's fine I've always had this voice my daughter also has the same voice yeah and it's very funny to see her like talk and then people are like oh my God it's it's genetic listen listen to your kids when they don't know you're listening I'm telling you that is the funniest and scariest thing at the same time you're like that's I know but poor Lily she's got the worst of Both Worlds she's got like my husband's anxiety and all that stuff and then like just the worst of me in the worst of Cliff but she I love her oh my God shout out to all of our SE parents of seniors in high school right now apparently the FAFSA snafu uh apparently the Department of Education is rolling out the first round of uh funding this weekend okay they have not they they revamp the whole system and nobody got any financial aid this year they haven't figured it out what so we have no idea we've got all these acceptance letters to college but we have no idea where we're going because we have no idea how much money we're going to be getting for financial aid and we have no way to plan for this because who in this day and age is going to pick a university college or and or otherwise without knowing how much money you're going to be paying for it you would be crazy and if you AB or maybe you're just so opulent it doesn't matter to you yeah over here in the Working World I'm like you can't even make your decisions for your life right now because you have no idea what you're going to get for funding no um I got a crazy idea yeah stop charging us to go to school that would be amazing I know fores is definitely working on it Cape C Community College shout out to all of our students over there we've got students day every other week you just popped over and saw your little Alma did I liked it I did Nathan what's happened to man I did like all that um nobody should be paying for school because I'm you're paying for school and you getting all this debt and then half of most of these kids leave and then they go they have to start working and something that they might not want to be but they got to paid some money got P tuition back it's a nasty Circle I know I know it's a nasty Circle I'm and so right now the Educational Department botched the favs of roll out F oh my God nobody knows so this weekend some they said the first round of it is going to be coming out this weekend first round of checks to my house need to be coming back God I'm so stressed as if they're not already stressed out as it is of the senior question do not ask a junior or a senior in high school what are you doing what are you doing with your life don't do that they are so stressed out yeah you want to P you want to push somebody over you can't ask an adult right now so uh what are you doing this weekend these kids are hanging by a thread yeah to sanity dinner decision is hard never mind like facts fights have happened relationships have been lost over seriously what you want for dinner this has been this has been a a situation in my house my son you going to feed me horrible h I'm hungry I'm like you are definitely not starving a b you are 15 years old you can figure out how to use the air fryer or the microwave when I'm not around and see all I do is cook for you or teach you how Mom I'm afraid of that how long does that get a pass moms and dads and caregivers and who ever it is that you care for a child how long did do you get that pass yeah I I don't know speaking of college you all knew the guy in college I don't know how to do my laundry can you help me oh my god listen you know how to do it you just don't want to do it absolutely Julia Montero Mr Johnson yes she said a math state colleges and universities should be free 100% yeah I we're working on it it's gonna happen I just like to be around when it happens I mean I feel bad for our Educators too because they're stuck in this Loop of figuring out how to justify their presence at these universities when their classes aren't as full as they should be because people can't pay for them so then they're not doing what they can do also the money there's money there y'all just need to just change where it's going right because well this money is allocated for this you know what you can do it because I've seen money go out the door for other things you guys can do it right JT and I are both on the board of the mashby Chamber of Commerce and i' just like to say we are over the bureaucracy we're making change we doing things yeah pay attention to the Congress you guys are all so caught up in the presidency pay attention to the Congress and who's making what to say you got pay attention like I'm just saying I don't like politics like I don't trust any we're not talking politics we're just showing up and making changes talkes we can make a give Stephanie and I a bottle of apple cider vinegar we'll fix it we'll fix it leave us alone put us remember the movie Dave yes give me a budget give me a thing we'll fix it all we'll fix it all give us a couple we're good give us sweatpants and some depends we're good we won't leave we'll stay at that table till everything's cleared this is this is our work ethic though you and I are very much the people that stay until the job is over I love that and I like I like it also I had this like not not a fight but you know when the push pull of marriage and we're going back and forth about he had a moment this week where this started my trajectory of my week I swear this is what put me in a bad mood okay he was having a nice leisurely Monday you know took his time Gra woke up took a bath yeah came downstairs at 9: looks over at me looking like this looking crazy at my computer and then he's like what's wrong what and then he's like oh I'm just gonna go do this and do that so it's like noon time before he even starts work we we we wake I'm ready to lose it you and I we wake up and we go I know Cliff I understand man he's an ease into to his day kind of person and but he also is really good about self-care yeah so he knows when to take breaks he knows when he needs his space he knows when he needs quiet time he is until he's not so now he's been like if he doesn't get those moments he'll snap if I don't get my nap like a couple days in a week like I will snap and Lea's like clearly you need to go take a nap yeah I'm like so I'm I'm like I'm just like a older baby I'm like and I just walk off and I just go in the room and I just and I will take will and she knows I know when I need a nap she knows when I need a nap you know when your kid needs a nap yeah right life understand JT needs a nap life is 13th grade I've said this for like 20 years I coined that like 20 years ago life is 13th grade that's all it is it's perfect but some some of the name yes Emily yes Monday was a Monday good morning Tara and Marie those board meetings must be fun you know what we get it done we get it done I'm not a person who likes to meet for no reason so like give me the reasons and then we'll go people who meet don't do that drives me crazy let's just do it I'll dig in with my hands roll up my sleeves and stuff's happening yes yes Miss Johnson it Mrs Johnson it does affect everything we do I know yeah it does it really does and it's like I can understand what some people like just want to go off the grd I can take I can take care of here we can take care of our community a lot better than waiting for somebody else to come in and and I hate the the 15 meetings to decide if we're going to put you know some cone up and fix that I love you you don't have it you're like do you need me for this or no all right let me know bye like my time is valuable what is this exact oh you guys got that great bye there's a fact right we walked in I got I had a meeting I had a meeting day I'm like I'm I'm giving you one hour so we need to go right into this and is what are we doing is this it what we working on I don't want to go back to and don't get me wrong we love catching up with people we really do I love people you and I both love people all of them get excited when we get to connect and share stories and be with each other but there's got to be a time limit yeah there has right there has to be a time Li because then you lose away from what the whole point of the the purpose of what it was right yeah just let's get it done qualify okay we're good we're good all right good now you want to stay a little bit longer talk that's fine but I want to get this out of the way speaking of long situations um we had an incident in Barnstable this week uh was it last week or this week no it was last this week it was last week yeah and that was actually on um Thursday yeah and that was actually my mother's street at the end really so it was actually quite um it was very intense well it was stressful for all of the parents that didn't have any information that was going on so what happened was somebody was barricaded it was nearby the school but all of the schools were shut down because you have to do that in this space and they couldn't give you any information because they didn't want the lookie lose and the people that want to show up and decide that they are now the hero of the day yeah you have to be safe with stuff like that but I saw that they employed or deployed a robot dog yeah I didn't know about the dog did they really this was the news and they showed the picture of the robot dog so they brought this new robotics team from the police and they deployed this robot dog to deescalate the situation so that people weren't harmed I love that fact what does the dog look like it looks like a robot dog all right I'll go look at that right like I didn't know I didn't even know about the robot dog I feel like I'm going have to look I know it just came out in my email today and I was like wait a minute what oh my God good morning M I know I wish I had the photo to show you what it looks like because it was kind of it was it was pretty cool so my mother I called my mother I'm like hey you know it's a lockdown right now and she's like she go there some police out I'm like yeah I said I was informed I said you know she's like all right I it's at the end of the road you know D D so just stay in the house okay I've seen that one yeah robot dog yeah I've seen that thousands of spots in the field used for industrial purposes now law enforcement and First Responders Boston Dynamics B yes I've seen that dog okay a couple years ago I saw that um my mother okay I'm I'm like stay in the house she's like I'm like Mom get out of the window she goes I'm behind the curtain I'm like because the curtain can always stop what she was a glattus kravits call behind the curtain we call her Glatt crait and she was like and she went click I'm like y h up on me she went in the pH like oh my my mother's 82 my mother's awesome I love I love my mother I'm good morning Mom I feel like if you live to 82 you're like I'm I'm here I'm gonna find out what I need to know anyway I have no time for nonsense yes and this what we said like what am I what am I gonna say at my age my mother's already been through almost been there seen it done it worst things also she probably wanted to see the robot dos oh if you didn't tell if you if a cop moved from front of my mother's house she might have walked down there and stop this right what's happening absolutely what's up Nat two of my favorite people and what's up Don from the West Coast thanks for joining us this morning yes so they deployed the robot dogs apparently I don't know what the end of that situation was calm okay yeah calm um but it was there I'll say from I heard about it at it was all day like 9 like 9 something in the morning and it ended at about 4:30 5 o'clock yeah because I went up I came up after I was like I'm not leaving hus until I make sure like yeah I couldn't go there you know what I mean and I was like obviously my mother I couldn't go to my mother's house right because everything was shut down I'm like she like what are we going to eat I'm like you have so much in that house yeah she's like don't my mother don't my mother she'll pull the what am I gonna have I'm like I don't know who's gonna feed me yeah I said you and C with so much food in that house I'm like are you guys are you guys barricading yourself and out there's so much food you know 182 toilet paper rolls in and go to your par you know she's ready she's born back in the time you know you you save everything right oh yeah that's I found a newspaper from 63 what do you need with that I don't I've got another friend of mine that parents are hoarders yeah and they have to declutter quite often because they they were born in a time in which you needed to save everything because you just never knew everything and I'm like I I guess if we grew up that way that we would understand it but I'm like all right like I was my think like how long do you need to hold on to this well there's got to be a happy medium because I feel like we're growing up in a society where like just throw it away and now our landfills are a problem and now everything is a problem so there's got to be a middle ground somewhere how many pictur how many pictures do you have in your phone that you've never printed up so many so many I don't know why who else out there suffers from that I'll take 7,000 photos I'll never use that is that is a me and I just keep buying more storage because I don't want to get rid of it and I might need it someday I'm trying to get I'm trying to get some pictures back from Myspace this is them while they're stuff Marie says tell us how she asked you to bring us a pizza oh my God bring a pizza wait who's that Marie Marie oh my God love Yeah my mother said she want she goes oh can you just swing by and just get us a pizza like a plane like a plane I don't know the plane is fine like I'm like what yeah Lot F do you want me to bring her Pizza I'm like I can't get there hello it's me it's just the delivery guy excuse me police my mother's hungry keep that dog keep that dog back I'm like rtb says don't go there with the pictures oh his mother who now just decided that she's clearing all the stuff so now she's sending him the stuff whatever it is teeth molds pictures my mother did that Purge uh a few years ago so yeah I've got a box of crap that I should have thrown out that she should have thrown out but nobody's throwing it out because they're Hoarders know and my mother does that and she I'm like there's a company called oh my God throw it away throw it away um I'll go to my I have to go to my mother's house like I know when the mail comes it's horrible because it's like at like 11 or 12 I'm still at work sometimes so I can't get if I can get to the house before the mail truck I will intercept that I'm like I'll bring the mail in but not because it's ads ads ads ads ads so many Bradford Exchange it's just company and they they they what they do is they they send these pictures of like my mother has a a uh a pair of leather pants love them the very day she don't ask I know my 82 but she has these sneakers and they have her name on it so they'll put items with your name on it so if you I've got to buy that it has my name on it hello I Gotta Buy This I Gotta Buy this is the best thing ever and I'm like Mom where did you get that don't you judge me I'm like I said Mom I love you I said but you don't need Mom they didn't just make it with your name on it they made it for you with your name on it this is my and and again then we go back to I am 82 years old I'm like I love you mom I know and I got to pick and choose my battles oh well 100% you got to pick and choose your battles yeah oh it's hilarious I mean if she's she's fine and she can afford it let her buy those leather pants she'll never wear with her name on them I think that that's great oh my God she has you never know you're gonna be worried about the day she puts them on and starts walking around town with them I picked him up I picked him up when you T me you kidding me you we she has Chicago Cafe she had a brown leather pants on her Sho look like your mother's here I'm like I love it hip her and Kyle they come in I'm like look at these two that's awesome so did you bring her the pizza no no I didn't bring the pizza you know I saw who's being forced out of business is aan I just found that out last night I'm this is the best Greek chicken salad you've ever had in your entire life horrible I don't know what honestly I'm GNA do 22 years of business they've been in and now they're saying that they're basically doing something with that gross parking lot that they're in uh to be fair it is a gross parking lot that they're in but that has been your B building forever they could they could make whoever owns I don't know who owns but I'm like I see places and I feel like if you have a place that you don't know what you're going to do with yet and you own the building you should at least keep it improvements to the building that it's already in no we're just going to tear it down and build a strip mall because that's what we need in hyas yeah we need another strip mall for what reason I do not know to have empty stores that people can rent for exorbitant amounts of money I'm over this model I heard something different I heard the prices went up and a lot of stuff and I'm like you can't so 22 years this family business has been in and now they have to go and they don't have another place that they can find yet no they don't and and that's that it's crazy because I'm like how do you just jack up like People's rent and property and all and I understand that people need to make money off of the things that they have but honestly I don't feel as if that was a situation that I don't I'm like fixed they're so nice over there I always we get like the Caesar salads and this that I'm like everything it's crazy I know C the grilled chicken Greek salad is honestly one of the best things of life oh my God I will be I will miss it I don't know how long that before they're closing but they're closing yeah 22 years of business I know so get it done uh Tom thanks for joining us on the show Tom's running for office he's sick of the way things are operating so he's taking it upon himself how was the zba board meeting this week I hope things went well for you I don't know I just saw some new drawings circulating the internet we do have a housing issue and it needs to be addressed but uh uh I'm not GNA get political no we would we support you in your cause I I'm all for anybody and i' I've always said this this is my thing um either you're part of the problem or you're part of the solution so which one are you I know to to like I said I don't want a thousand meetings just but you and I are both of a fix it mentality like let's fix it instead of causing more problems fat but the problem is I feel like we're so spread apart and where we're coming into the middle anymore I think people don't want to give an inch because they feel like giving an inch is giving up and I feel like it's such a bad mentality to have when you're not working for the better greater space of it all the collaborative if you will so divided right now and I hate that it's it is it's it's ugly I can't believe we actually even talking about this right now well it's important it's affecting us I mean it's affecting a lot of people that because that specific situation in Falmouth which by the way Falmouth you're getting an Aldi they're putting it in the Christmas Tree Shop I they really yes I feel like it's a good mix of Christmas tree shop and grocery store how many times have you gone to an Aldi and left there with no groceries what what is what is Aldi so it's like a cheapy grocery store so they've got awesome my kids love their frozen pizza okay um but then they also have a Christmas tree shop like segment in the middle that has like umbrellas and slippers and I did not know of this place pullovers and a pizza oven brick thing like it's the most random of grocery stores I I sound like I feel like you're telling me about that gas station that's on the highway what's it called Chuck a big Chuckies or something like that yes bies bies it's exactly like a bies oh my God yes I walked out of there with a get out hat which is like the big you know what I'm talking about Alicia has a the kids have a picture of me yeah the big like Farmers Buck hat yeah it's huge and uh and I had some sunglasses I got a tank top I got you know when I knew the cape was changing when I was at 7-Eleven back in the day and I walked in and I could buy a T-shirt and a belt in some shoes I'm like what is this this is a gas station right that wasn't even a that was a 7-Eleven no gas station that was one was on North Street oh right that's all caged up now like a WWF thing what is going on there looks so gross what's going on at before you get to the um at the end of Main Street on the left hand side before you get to the rotary there was a beautiful like little like grassy area yeah and now there's like something going on they're building so if you at the where the Westend rotary is yeah and then you're hitting on to Main stre on South Street on the right before you get to oh yeah you it used to be like a huge grass area yeah what is that there's something going on I saw like anybody in the bid want to jump in and let us know what the heck is going on in that grassy null area that used to be grassy null we want to know grassy n yes yes Mom and cow look beautiful when they go out they always look good I love them Mark Tom we need a gay bar on the cape there so that you can DJ at Mark you don't even live on a cape quiet Al Aldi is fun bies is an amazing chain clean thank you Mr yes so I think that that is a a good call for what ald is if you want to see one in its Glory there is one right in weham right near where him crossing right when I go they can go check it out over there I will go I feel like I mean I made I made a trip to go to popyes I don't know why I can't make a trip to go to right ex go in there you have to bag your own groceries you have to check in your own groceries really yep interesting you have toay pay 25 cents to get your grocery cart out of there you get it back after you're done with it it's just so that you're putting the grocery cart back oh this is how they save the money they don't have the peoples you're doing all of the work for yourself and so need great prices yes I like this and most random things in the middle of the store that I was like what does this need to be at a grocery store no it does not but I'm here buying it because I usually find myself at CVS if I forget there's a holiday coming up so I need like you're one of those people oh there's a whole bunch of us it's called guys there's whole bunch of us at CVS on uh I think it was like Easter morning or something like that I was like oh my God oh my God I need to get flowers oh my God and a card and some chocolates and that I'm out of trouble this bathroom was so soft you can feel it right through the hole on the thing I'm like I'm gonna get this and it comes with slippers one size fits all you're bailed out once again Holly pachella hello you were at Vanna's birthday party happy birthday happy V who's on Holly Holly good morning Holly makes the best prob I'm putting an order in right now for the uh for the oatmeal raisin and the chocolate chip cookies the on that you made um I would like some of those I don't need those cookies but I would like them well the diet like oh because they have oatmeal in them yeah and that's like breakfasty healthy stuff I like the way you think I like how you think a lot Vana yeah that was a great party uh Vanna is so awesome she's so talented lovely family a love them M's awesome they really are awesome and I can't believe Vanna is only 17 she is such an incredible music talent and I cannot wait to see what she does yeah she was here before in the past life I don't know what that girl just like y several of them oh oh a few and uh funus was killing it so good was a good night um everybody was really good um and since we're talking about music um we need to definitely give a little rest in peace yeah that is wild Paul Nelson if you guys don't know Paul is an incredible guitarist um Grammy award-winning guitarists yeah I mean he's played with people like Eric Clapton also I mean like T has like such an incredible like Legacy he was really just such a great mentor and Champion to so many musicians here on the cape and uh his presence will definitely be missed yeah uh it is definitely avoid in a lot of our musical um Avenues and all of our our people that are out there gigging hustling and just doing what they can for their craft and uh super sad very sad um I saw Paul play at the music room um one night uh he was his band was playing and I just sat there I'm just watching him and he called me like uh the next day like he sent me a text he goes dude I got to thank you for what you said and I'm like what did I say because I was talking about him I didn't realize that there's a camera behind me oh recording so I had no idea and I'm like Paul's just different I'm like I'm watching him and I'm watching his fingers I'm just listening and I'm like you watching the face like when an artist is into their craft whether it's painting whether it's making clothes or anything baking whatever it is like they're different because you can see there's a whole different person about them it's an outof body experience for them also yes and it took me out and all of us and I'm like dude this guy is just different like like and I'm like he's just making that thing you see people have sing like they're making it sing or they're making like that's Paul yeah his fingers is artist like just the thing his mind and it's like you can just see his eyes and like it's it's almost like REM when we're sleeping you can see the eyes moving on it's that's why I feel like I'm watching P like dud where is he yeah where is this dude right now right because he becomes the music and that's that's really really it's gonna be missed it really will be truly an amazing blues guitarist for sure absolutely um Holly says not diet like yeah listen cookies are cookies and cookies are great so thank you you let us deal with the diet part you just make the cookies um yeah uh I don't know how how old was Paul not old enough not old enough man I need to be like 100 I need to be like 100 I mean stress and touring and I feel like just the lifestyle in which a musician and an artist lives in uh because they are always hustling moving shaking things going on is not conducive to to living long lives uh so right and I'm sure he's under a tremendous amount of stress given everything that he's been going through so we just I'm yeah and sending love and hugs um to his wife oh my God absolutely um he played on recorded alongside Eric Clapton Buddy Guy members of the Almond Brothers Band um he was born in New York Manhattan I didn't know that he went to college in Boston though he went to Berkeley yep and uh he's was top like I'm like J John I'm not talking about that oh boy we we whatever Stephanie say we're not talking about that we're not talking about that we are not talking about
