what saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I really suo at book CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual I just had a visual I proud of it hello and happy Tuesday good morning boys and girls how are you I sound like one of those 1960 1960s DJs playing all the hits all the time the WX good guys or or whoever they were the bad guys I don't know this is gonna be a show I'll tell you what look I want to apologize on behalf of Stephanie and I for any cough sneezes or other inappropriate sounds you hear we have our box of Kleenex here we're here for you we're here for you honestly the season has arrived and it has hit me like a full ton of bricks yes just being out and about for the last few days and uh I got I got a sunburn on Saturday so reminder to everyone where were you did you where were you that you got sunburned Mash me Commons was doing their small business sale so I did sidewalk sale so I wrapped up with Ruck for a hit I went to uh our friend over at press ahead coffee what a cute shirt right very nice I know I love their little groovy branding all you need is coffee and where are they they are well he's a mobile coffee truck okay so he was at his wife's store along with the mermaids so it was like a a nice Collective for his grand opening he had another vdub Mini Bus that's the Cape Cod photo bus there okay so it was like two cute vdub mini buses me and my little lemon Ado vehicle the mermaids bus right uh so it was a really coffee and mermaids that's it who could ask for anything more on a Saturday afternoon that's it you don't need anything and I didn't know but everyone in my house was sick so I wasn't going anywh oh I know so mashby cumins did their sidewalk sale yeah everybody was out and about we saw so many wonderful people and dogs I love this time of year where everyone's like oh my God I gotta be outside because it's 65 right uh so we saw all kinds of people but I forgot to put sunscreen on so later on in the day I'm like why does my face hurt I look in the mirror I'm like because it's burned because because you're part Irish that's why your face is 100% the Portuguese side did no problem it's the Irish side I didn't get that that went all to my my daughter my dad who turns another race in the summer not me oh my father-in-law used to oh my God he'd be in he'd be in the beach for 20 minutes and he'd be like a different guy you're right not me I burn and peel you know he looked like he should have been in a rap album or something he just I got in the suck Irish skin right yeah I do too it's awful it's awful so yeah we had a whirlwind of events but I was also outside so with that is the pollen situation and if you're affected by seasonal allergies well welcome to it and then whatever the heck is going around I know this I know this this stomach bug thing is not pretty if you haven't had it I hope you don't get it yeah that was me what two weeks ago and then uh now it's just I can't feel my face not in a good way yeah the St the stomach bug was everybody in my family but me I managed to avoid all of that you got other stuff but I've got other stuff I've got the I've got the cough that would you know and and whatever but I mean I didn't I didn't get the stomach but P Mariana went back to school she went back to school for one day she came home from school she threw up and she was sick the rest of the week and then her mom was sick and Logan was sick and then Mari was sick and and I'm like and I'm the old guy here and I'm the one who's not sick like stay away from me good morning stay away from me come on mindful yoga and yes Seth it is on my list of things to talk about today Hackney diamonds are slanging for broken shards of glass at a smash and grab good morning he's referring to the new name of the Rolling Stones tour that has begun please explain that is the name of the tour hacky diamonds acne diamond and he said it's slang for the broken shards of glass at a smash and grab really that's an odd name for a tour well I mean it is the Rolling Stones that's probably what's left of them is shards of glass I think that they're pre-warning people that this is what you get folks they could just be a bunch of emojis when you show up you have no idea now that would have been good they're just sitting in the back and all of a sudden you know yeah they've got their animatronics out there there we go they just show up the end of the show they're like we were making the music backstage this was just more entertaining right right I can't believe with the with the exception of one that they're all still with us I know kicking off their tour kicking off a world tour and they're 80 right yeah yep can't imagine well I have friends of ours and uh we had our um 55 plus mixer yes over the weekend and I got to chat with a buddy Tom who was there and he's like I've got tickets to this I've got tickets to that I've got tickets to this I just need a lady I was like all right we're gonna get you one right right the bar has been set we've got another speed dating event that we're going to be doing over at 10 pin it's a 55 plus speed dating event so a series of just like little mini dates that we're inviting everybody to come out to signups go up today and that's going to be May 8th at 10 pin nice and early 6 to8 have a good time right speaking of speed dating last week you were talking about this website too many fish in the sea or something Plenty of Fish plenty of fish in the sea that I knew virtually nothing about yeah okay I have no reason to go on it I'm a happily married man for Humpty up years the day after I started seeing posts for that website on my yeah because your phone's always listening all of our devices are spying on us and then and and then there were other kinds of old old people dating sites popping up and I'm like leave me alone I don't want Mari to even see that they're here really Mari I didn't I didn't put them there they just I mean at that point she knows she knows she knows she knows I wouldn't dare you're good honestly that comes a point where you're like what no I'm good I'm good over here in a steady Lane over here yep no more uhuh I'm done nice steady Lane so we've got Cinco de Mayo coming up this weekend we've got another Market that is happening we are a chalk full of fabulous people that are coming to Showcase their Wares is okay is the lady who made the pocket book that you showed me is she gonna be there Melissa I believe she is the one with the Buzzy fingers yeah okay good because it's a birthday present for oh that's right we got our big birthday coming up yes you're your mari's birthday my Lily's birthday Megan's birthday 18 she's gonna be 18 18 like have relations yet no thought I'd ask you're funny I know how was your play though I I I I know you couldn't get there because you were working but horrible I felt really bad it was her final musical in high school it was like not a low of a parenting moment there but my husband took some video and sent me I think he stayed awake for the whole time he's been better now that he's got the cpat machine he's less narcoleptic okay so it's good he's actually getting sleep but does the cpat machine bother you or do you just not at all oh you just go right out oh it's so much better oh okay oh it's better than have you not heard my snoring videos I used to post of him this was like a weekly event no no I haven't I'm sorry so loud but since he's got that that seapa whatever I know the Mas The Mask thing yeah okay not Silent not like that thing that they advertise on TV with a button you push or something and oh yeah apparently that's great if your insurance cover is it okay which is probably cost a million billion well I think you have to like go through the process of having the thing for a little bit before you can upgrade to that all right I know you guys have all come here today to hear about all of our health WS but that seem like the kind of but that seems like the kind of techy thing that he'd want 100% you know him oh yeah I have to have the latest and greatest Gadget he's one of those guys right it's I have to keep an eye on him because there'll be a box at the door from Amazon all the time every day I order that thing what thing the thing that we were talking about that possibly we were going to get now we have it okay that's great are we going to use it that's the problem technology is getting so outdated so quickly so quickly yeah that I have to like really be careful of like what is it worth to spend you know are we going to use it long enough to even make it worth it or is it just going to be something else is that the stop Gap technology I don't need that part I to go from one to the next you must see something every day that you could use to to upgrade the the the back end of of this operation here all the time every day we're going through a major changeover in the next month so please bear with us with all of our hiccups and connectivity issues we're changing things for the better but also it's so painful is anybody else out there just like so I'm not adverse to change I love learning things I love growing by all means however I have such an issue with constant upgrade maintenance and nothing works the same way every single day it's like this long process like I have to waste an hour to two hours of my day just getting organized that makes me crazy you know what didn't happen with that pen and paper still works that's how I I have a list it still works I don't use I mean I do have a um you know my calendar on my phone or whatever but I have a little notebook and every day I write this is what I'm because I've got to like you I've got to see it in front of me right I need to write it down or else it's not going to be put in my brain it's something about that connection it's not real if you don't write it down I agree our question of the day is what makes you happy um I was so not happy this morning that I needed to just say uh and be reminded by the things that do make us happy because I know I've got a lot of joy in my life I I work on I work on it every single day y so put something there that makes you happy and remind yourself just a little nudge to happiness this morning I know some days are not as easy as others I get it right I'm looking forward to this weekend I actually have it off and that's a good thing yeah it is my aunt is visiting she'll be here from Florida so I don't know which day I'm G to get her on which side of the family Mom's okay she's she's like the closest to my age she's my mother's youngest sister okay so we're like a few years apart all right does she talk to Mom I'm sure I'm sure she talks to all of her sisters oh okay um it's just the one that I I like the most cuz we're we're closest and uh we raised all of our children together oh okay so we're we're just very close we're more friends than it's more of a peer relationship and she's funny as hell she just makes me laugh just being in the room with her and she's absolutely a light so I'm that's what brings me joy right there that's what makes me happy and spending time with herever everybody wants time with her so I'm like I'm over here on the cape so if you have time for me I'm here right I'm on the cape you want to come to the cape she knows exactly leave that Cesspool of the sister she's GNA have her sister time trust me can have them I'm good okay okay we won't go there then they're just a lot it's the five women getting together that have been together their whole life it's just a lot what do they have left to talk about at this point each other and it's it's awful and they're not nice to each other no but whatever they're sisters that's what you do I saw some poor woman on Facebook yesterday my sister is blah blah blah blah and she's she's cutting me out I need somebody right now I feel really bad when people make please on social media right I feel like that's that that's a low like that's your real low and I feel like I have to say something or get involved and I don't know why I have this problem you have nobody except your Facebook page I know that's rough that's it makes me feel bad m well I think because people some people think that all their friends on Facebook are really their friends and they're not very few of them actually are that's true you have to have that conversation with people my children get mad at me when I post photos of them because they're like Mom all of my friends troll your Facebook looking for photos so they can mock me with them don't put that up so I have this rolling screen on my iPhone that changes the photo of whatever it is every time I unlock it it's a different like memory and what it's been Cody heavy lately of just like when he's like a little baby all the way up so now I take a screenshot I'm like look at my new profile photo and he's like Mom don't don't do it you're ridiculous now he had a doctor's appointment coming up right yeah we have an ultrasound okay they haven't okay you haven't done yet no okay the cogs of medical move slowly okay just need an ultrasound actually the pediatrician called me yesterday like you're not missing anything because we're not missing anything got it thank you I'm got to reschedule my um my my oral surgery again okay you're just avoiding it it's not though I'm actually busy I know I've been saying like I've literally rescheduled the surgery probably about seven times but it's my mouth so if I can't talk what you want to SCH good for now I know yeah they don't love me but I paid them upfront so they've gotten their Mari lost all kinds of weight really noticeably I need a stomach Buck I ate right through the stomach bug that wasn't a problem you know and Mariana didn't need to lose weight she's 12 years old she's tall she you know you could see it in her in her in her face and everything well when you're not particularly heavy to begin with in something like that hit your system right and you're not eating and what you're eating is reappearing you know yeah it's hard speaking of appearing Mike Myers showed up on a red carpet uh this week and people were shocked at the way he looks I was like he just his Gray he's gray with a buzz cut people get old yeah so a stark difference from the regular M Mike Myers where used to but he's not gonna forever look like Wayne's World that was a long time ago a long time a long time ago I think he was collecting a Lifetime Achievement Award and people were like wow I haven't seen you in a while Lifetime Achievement Mike Myers oh God I'm old right wow he's well he's 60 yeah oh yeah it happens real fast I mean I mean imagine if John balushi made it yeah this far I mean as far as Dan award has what John balushi would be doing or looking like or yeah whatever true you know although I don't think he would have made it I I think at some point in time John balushi would have exploded somehow yeah he was he was just too he lived hard he did he had too Reckless a character went for all of it but it's so funny you still see the clips now and then on on on reals or something of The Blues Brothers or him doing Jo Cocker or or some of the other things and and for those of you who remember John balushi you think to yourself oh my God what a talent and he could have done he was like the next Jackie Gleason you're going to the vineyard over the weekend his grave is there so oh really yeah oh we'll have to look for it right we'll have to look for it it usually has like a beer can or what they have to like be careful and monitor it and babysit it because people leave all kinds of garbage and Tra behind Cindy says my limit is to martinis trashed a friend of ours just went to um Gettysburg and and I've I've been to Gettysburg and whatever and last year and it is so spooky it is it's Eerie it is it is first of all if you haven't been to Gettysburg you can go and you can stand at this Monument that says Abraham Lincoln stood here I mean that's the first thing you go holy moly Abraham Lincoln stood here and then when you take photos I don't know if you guys know this this is one which is what people say when you take photos and you see those little white dots those are those are spirits those are those are soul I have to relook through my Gettysburg photos and I've seen pictures that that regular folks have taken of of the Cannons behind the barricade and there's smoke wild that place is just so I mean it is haunted it feels very haunted I don't even remember hundreds of I mean I don't I should know the number how many people died at Gettysburg but it's ridiculous we're not historians no I am and I should remember Mr master's degree in history here and I don't remember um I mean like 100,000 or some somebody will Google it and let us know I'm sure but um yeah it's just the spookiest place I've ever ever been yeah yeah we were there last year and I agree it was weird I mean just starting with again just starting with you can you can stand in a place where abrah Lincoln do I mean it's like wow well we're about to go see a ton of older history than that with the our European Vacation Steph in the morning's European Vacation oh my God it's going to be like a a National Lampoon situation I just know it already but are you GNA film it you're gonna have a film crew follow you around that's right film crew of my husband with all of his new stupid gadgets is what's GNA happen very good where they half work and half don't where is the spooky place I was brushing my teeth and couldn't hear we were talking about Gettysburg yeah and uh history full and uh it is it's Eerie yeah Nate says the Patriots had really sold draft class this year they focused more on the offense which was a good sign yes I watched none of it yes and you know who the star of the draft was Bill bellich oh yeah he was on with Pat McAfee he was knowledgeable he was funny he told stories what he had people laughing people are like who is this bill this is not the grumpy Bill we know this is not the gruffy of indigestion and I'm G to bark through this event press conference bill was always an act right on Fridays when it was just the local press at the Friday press conference they'd call it Story Time with Bill because it would be just them and him and they just start talking back and forth and he'd start telling stories and talking about football history and and everything else and look folks he's friends with Lenny Clark and John bonjovi yeah how dull a guy can he be I don't know but I I got um I got press conference build when I went to Nantucket he was not having anything to do with me this SP can I get a photo no thank you no thank you well I'm sure he gets asked all the time and he's like listen I was also not my best self but but at least he said no thank you and not F you or something no no he wasn't rud he was just Kurt right Kurt and Gruff well what we think of right for sure um so uh we've got the Kentucky Derby coming up this weekend I saw that Panera is rolling out a $21 Red Bull hat in limited quantities well that's good because I don't know how many people are going to want it kind of look fun yeah I might put it on a little mannequin if I was ordering like a centerpiece thing like uh my my B&B Patty over at uh the captain's Manor in always does the Cinco de derby party and so everybody wears fun hats and they have you know mint julips and martinis and margaritas and all kinds of festive things that are going on and I could see her rolling out the paner bread bull hat just for laughs but you know what don't nobody follows horse racing like they used to no God no I just want to go to like it's a bucket list thing just to go see the sites and sounds wear a fun hat out in public where you're not going to get mocked I mean I have a penchant for wearing tiny hats I have a whole closet of them invite me to an event that I can wear a hat at and I say yes to it I've worn them to all of my cousins weddings they all think I'm ridiculous blocking half the people behind me with my giant hat it's great but those of you who don't remember the Kentucky Derby watching the Kentucky Derby used to be like watching the Super Bowl yeah yeah right it was a big deal everybody got together you had parties you do this you do that and now it's like oh oh yeah the Kentucky Derby's on who are those horses oh well Secretariat's not running no Secretariat's dead can make some bets or something what's up Helen hey Don too many horses have died in racing I agree yeah yeah and and too many trainers keep getting suspended and the same guy oh oh God I forget his name it's gross and it's dirty and the stuff that they do to those poor animals is awful and it's all big bucks oh all it's all money yeah and I think people are getting tired of that I think so too I mean just like dog r I mean we love we love we love Greyhounds but and we had one for for Pep for a while and was absolutely they used to at least adop them out after they were done with their racing days but you know how they used to do that no I I never told you this story oh my God so we decided we were going to adopt a greyhound so we were living in in alboro and I think it was yeah we're in alabor maybe or maybe we were down here whatever and we went to the track in Lincoln and you go into this room and there are these cages one stacked on top of of another and they open the door all the doors and they let them all out and they come running over to you like pick me pick me pick me pick me please I need out and you have to say well no not this one no this one SLA Megan in the face with its tail so that's got to go back there was one it was called a um a blue Greyhound but it was brown it must have just gone in there wouldn't come out oh was curled up in the in the corner so we ended up adopting one who was a little older he was I think six at the time we got him and we had him for um for several years but no one was adopting him because he was he was older his name was Fuzzy and which is a weird name for a racing dog but um name and and the reason why he stopped racing is his shoulder would pop out and and he'd be in our backyard and he turned our backyard into a into a track had a fence in the backyard for the dog and he turned it into a track and sometimes when he was running all of a sudden you'd see the shoulder pop out and then he'd run for a little bit and I guess he'd knew KN knew enough to put it back in again poor poor fuzzy but the thing that would happen he always got out during thunderstorms I don't know I don't know why the devil we opened the door and he got out and he would run the block that we would that we would walk him and i' on the phone with a couple of neighbors and it's it's raining cats and dogs thunder and lightning and I'd say sorry guys Fuzzy's out again I need your help and I'd get in my car and I'd go this way and another guy would come out of his house another guy would get his car and all we could do was limit the area that he could run because we couldn't catch him yeah if we ran after him he would have he would yeah you got let him get out of he would bolted so so we finally just narrowed the area narrowed the area narrowed the area and then I got out of my car and I got and I got him in the car they're going to see and they're going to think rabbit and they're gone you'll never see them again because you can't you can't you can't catch them Bad Bunny rides in on a horse during his tour this year ringland Brothers doesn't even have live animals or clowns isn't that weird for a circus what not to have live animals anymore life animals it's yeah people were really upset when I was in New York for the um the Rockets they they brought live Magi animals in camels and whatever and then that was like when I was reading through the other reviews to see before I bought it and people were like I can't believe in 2023 are using live animals and as opposed to what I get it I mean you I I don't even know where they stored a camel on madis in Madison Square Garden like where does one put up three camels that they just bring out to walk across the stage one time like what do they do all day I'm very curious I'm sure they're treated very well well with the rocket so I would assume so I'm sure that uh it's fine but yeah we have stopped using live animals and things because it's inhumane I think people are finally realizing we don't need to do that anymore good morning Roberta thanks for joining us I am I saw this study and I was like oh good I'm right on track forgetting is actually good for your brain explain this one to me oh please they're just talking about things where people harp on things and it makes your stress level rise and how you can't let things go sometimes so it is good to forget some things yes oh yeah not being overly forgetful that's not great but forgetting things is okay I've I've I've heard it said that if you can't remember something walk backwards and it will come to you and I've said that to Mari a couple of times because mari's great for like getting halfway through a and and then there's nothing because we have ADD and we have too many things going on so I'll say okay back up about backwards okay now come forwards again let's finish the sentence and many times it in fact works all right backwards I don't know if it's like a reset or or or what but well it forces your brain to rewind where you're last steps maybe I'll be walking backwards all day everybody and a lot on the plate right now I do it's ridiculous so what else is up in Stephanie in the morningland um what do you have coming up we have so well it's May so I've we've got the markets we're getting ready for them mashby Farmers Market is in full swing we have so many fabulous seasonal people that are coming we're working on some sustainable Endeavors we're working on some recyclables we're working on a water project like we're actually doing we going to have a water ride what no not a water ride we're working on a water project okay to get some running water and uh to it's just okay I want to ask it's so many things that we are working on for this and um I was sad to see that the harch farmers market is not going to be happening this year because so much D Construction in that area that they said it's just not even worth them fighting to have um the farmers market Because by the time people get there uh and then everybody's gonna fight their way through the construction they just said maybe next year and that was kind of sad yeah construction I took Mariana to school yesterday and sandwich I could not get home why I could not get home because of the right they were like I me obviously obviously I could get home but but the the obvious way obvious way they were all blocked it was like ridiculous well you were talking about rubber Nea this morning oh yeah there's a I saw in the um the news this morning in Boston there's an accident I think on 128 or something and the backup from the rubbernecking is like twice as long as the backup caused by the accident yeah I mean it's ridiculous it's human nature though you want to see why what is the reason for me to be here and then you're going to judge the reason whether it was stupid or not and then be angrier about it this is what rubber necking is all about unless it's a white sheet over the vehicle move on no no we don't like that Hart is just intimidated by my market no they're not trust me they're not they have much are like H they already didn't know how to approach a rotary or what to do with it right now people extra don't know yeah so they're like right I don't know what to do they need to put up a sign that's like you go if you want to go here you go this way right if you want to go here you go this way and at least put up a sign that says keep driving till you figure it out don't stop please please please don't stop stop well the people in the rotary have the right away so you do have to stop that is the rule no I mean the people in the rotary just they'll come over the bridge and they'll and then they'll just keep moving you you go go around once or twice you you'll figure out where you're gonna go and then you can go but rtb says that is not what I Define rubbernecking to be hey it's all looky L it's people wanting to know what's going on where is it what's happening annoying get out get a get gone move on yes serenity now everyone if your road is now shut off as you're getting up to go somewhere poor Emily was supposed to come to work yesterday and she just sent me the traffic pattern I'm like stay home just not even worth it g it take you two hours to get to me that's ridiculous 30 minutes away don't even bother don't even yeah yeah no it's crazy you can't you can't you can't get there from there no and they've just been shutting off my road I'm like I can't leave sorry road's closed it's beautiful this is every single spring We complain about it I just feel like this is extra this year especially since we're doing the sewering project here in Mash piece so it's not one thing it's the other so right I was going to say it feels like it's worse this year I mean you expect the repaving and everything else because it's the spring and they want to get it done before tourist season but this other it's it's like oh my goodness well what's going to be happening during tourist season because I heard we've got a ton of rentals available because everybody jumped into that market and uh during Pand mic where it was lucrative and it's not now and there is a fire sale on rentals and getting people to come and visit us hopefully people who own those rental properties will decide to go and sell them and we can make them available to people who need to buy homes yeah and maybe address our housing issues hopefully yeah I've never seen so many houses for sale I was from pic casset all the way to provinc toown and back driving the cape over the weekend as we were doing Ruck for hit by the way $268,000 we've raised and Counting that's great which is incredible as like the amount of people there was 127 new participants this year we had 20 teams more than we've ever had wow we've had nine it was our Max before that so 20 so it was incredible to see so many new people running along with us but what I did notice was so many houses for sale like just not to be sold like sold already like houses that I didn't even know we're on the market we're already off the market like we've already sold we've sold this we've sold this we're almost kind of getting back to it's here and it's gone it's here and it's gone it's here and it's gone yeah we sold a house two weeks ago we didn't even have an open house it never got to open house oh wow it was gone it was gone yeah it was gone and and that's happening a lot and that's kind of scary because that's not you know that's not good for people who are um who are looking it's not good for the firsttime home buyers it's great I mean it's great for the homeowners who wants to have an open house you got to leave your house you got to make sure it's wicked clean whatever you have people stomping through your house if you can sell it without an open house that's great but and it's um you know but but for the people who are who are looking it's not it's not good yeah rtb let's call a thing a thing it's folks without anything better to do focus on your journey you are right my friend good morning Paula uh my daughter threw out the hey I might come home for the summer um but you already have people here I don't how do you politely gently say we have no room for you that's what I'm going to say got the J1 girls coming from Jamaica they'll be here next week really next Wednesday ah I know right I got to I have so much work to do in this house I'm glad I have this weekend off you're really not going to have a weekend off no but I mean I have to get everything ready I mean we've got graduation we've got people that are going to be coming in and out of here I've got to get this place in order for people to at least use the facilities comfortably putting the tub back I didn't look oh I didn't I didn't look this morning I just came right in she's not back I mean she's near where she needs to be not back we had the squirrels in the Attic we're uh five of them by the way we've removed from our attic wow Lord knows and Lily goes dad I hear scratching again I'm like no there's got to be a hole there somewhere where they're getting so that's it Cliff has been up upstairs knocking back the holes and figuring out where they're coming from at this point I cannot believe that nothing is really destroyed up there but yeah they they were in there they were in there good they were you've got some big trees they're probably a grand old time in that they probably running down the branches and just jumping in well I have a cat I I brought him upstairs I'm like get in the Attic he's like I don't want to do that why I'm gonna do that when uh dad traps them for me and just releases them in the front yard right I I'm not gonna work for this I have been doing nothing but scream crying in the front yard as this occurs I'm like I can't be here for this I be here us jth is like oh wait release the hounds and Lily's making a lot of progress getting the turnning the front yard into a victory garden yes she is you know it's good for stress release and I love it if she wants to go work on the garden that's awesome and she says she's gonna help us with our sidey yard oh good yeah she likes that it's good for her it's good for her mental health yeah because we don't have a lot of talent in that in that area and she was telling us the other night that she you know she'd love to help and oh yeah and we'll you know give her Queen of the garden center yep lovees spending our money she really loves it well she can spend our money now good sounds like a good deal that'll give you a break what's going on Lynn uh morning kids Lyn berson hey Lynn how you doing always cooking up something delicious on Cape Cod dining at home and anywhere else the contest this week is about treats for your pets oh that's awesome yeah we are working on a an event over at dos it's May 18th it's bone appat treat MH they are going to be actually doing dog bones and B biscuits that are going to be test taste tested by people yes wait whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa taste tested by dogs or taste tested by people by people eating the dog treats yeah because I mean it's made with real food okay right I guess they have a brand new facility that is located it used to be the Pet Resort on 151 that has now been taken over by a ser dog group okay um and they have been they're Nationwide they have been training um service animals and it was just exclusively for the military but now they're doing it for autism for a couple of other groups and I'm really excited to have this group being out of mash P they do wonders with these animals they pay for absolutely everything all of the training all of the housing all of everything to get these service dogs to people so will what a go get are so productive don't even start with me well she's she's she's in the school industry so when it's summertime she's not got work and apparently can't find one restaurant job in San Diego not real that is not real there are all kinds of wicked cool restaurants in San Diego there is so many downtown San Diego the gasik district there there's one stunning restaurant after another so many so it's like the restaurant capital of the United States there's I just don't and they go up to La Hoya where all the rich people go out to eat and there's bunch of fabulous restaurants there Lily she not sharing my room and she's not going in with the J1 they probably love her they probably enjoy each other's company oh really I'm sure they don't want to share their space though it's not like it's exactly roomy in there right right oh my goodness so yeah we're looking forward to our j1's arriving next week uh they're from Jamaica uh Cy and I forget who the other one is but they've they've already gotten packages sent to them they're ready to go they have their uniforms delivered they work for Duncan which not not oh God the Duncan that the time forgot was s so effed up this morning um which Duncan are they going to be at they're going to be at the one on the corner over here on sandwich Road oh okay yep okay I know either way I I'm just excited to have some some new people and apparently they like to cook so I'm really excited about that food is really I am thrilled you like spicy I well they're going to murder my stomach yeah I have a very Irish stomach but I'm excited I like the taste of it yes even the smell of it even the smell in Jamaican food cooking is is wonderful yeah I'm I'm thrilled to have a little quisine change around here sick of the same old stuff plus I've been trying to eat healthy my son last night was like there's a lot of broccoli on that Mom like just shut up and eat e it right I made you real food all right zip it right and and just and just eat the broccoli will you but you can do cool things with broccoli I don't I don't I don't mind broccoli you know I'm just in this like casserole mode because easy you know what I don't like anymore asparagus what uh I used to love asparagus and now everybody serves asparagus yeah the big thick ones yeah I mean the skinny ones are are okay and you can season them up and everything and and and Mario does a nice job with that but but the big I'm just like oh God asparagus asparagus is like the new um what was it the mixed vegetables thing that they used to give you in restaurants right you know why bother why bother nobody likes that no no one likes the the Frozen mixed veggies stop doing it no zucchini and oh God please stop can I have something else besides the vegetables I mean I'll take anything and ice cream sunday anything I'm looking forward to our Farmers Market to have different vegetables and fresh wees yes just for variety I'm so bored of everything although Lynn you just magic up stuff in the kitchen that I'm just I'm Blown Away by the recipes that you create and thank you for sharing them yeah this was just in my fridge and I threw it together and uh you know it's GNA get a Michelin rating yeah right I because you eat with your eyes right and she always makes it look pretty regardless of what it tastes like it looks fabulous yeah oh no she does she does a great job I'm sure it tastes wonderful too whatever a lot of the folks on the page do if you're not a me a member Cap Cod get home in anywhere else there are over 5,000 members we may be crashing six um people share recipes and that's awesome put up photos of their food and it's a great group and um we have contests every now and then on a you know particular kind of food like I said this one is about um um you know treats for your treats for your animals and um we'll get into summertime things when we get closer to the summer barbecue stuff and everything and um we get you know a local restaurant to um um you know donate a donate a gift card if you are you know one of the folks who you know don't live here in the C C area then we'll ask you what your restaurant of choice is and we'll try to get that you know gift card for you so you can use the river where you are it's great it it started as you know it started off during covid when when Mari was looking for you know something to do and you know you can't cook the same thing for supper every night because you know nobody was going anywhere and she started this page and she threw it out there and it's just gone it's just gone Gang Busters yeah I and I love it I feel very inspired every time I'm on there and that's how we met you roasted radishes are today's yums I'll be looking forward to that I don't know if I will like I know right radishes radishes you got to be careful they can not do good with your stomach if Nate said I'll put up a picture of my Progresso soups simple foods and you're Ramen get it done Nate you had a story this morning that was six habits of squashing stress ah yes six habits of squashing stress this is really interesting do you like that segue I went from squash to squashing very good I was that was that was that was good you must be a professional have you done this before I me a couple of times couple of times all right all right well this is from um what is this from this is from better report.com this is a way to um squash kind of your stress you know because we're all even if it's just trying to go out to the store and come back and we can't get home um so there are some things you can do one suggestion is to keep a gratitude Journal okay that forces you if you will to focus on the good stuff as opposed to maybe sitting down and having a diary and and and bitching um you do you do a gratitude journal and that forces you and what it does is it says it releases dopamine and serotonin which is stuff that makes us feel happy okay is another one read a book can be very relaxing but don't be like me I never finish a book I you and I are the same in that realm I never finish it like I know what's going to happen and I'm like GH I'm done or I'm over it or I got what I wanted from this book already and I never finish them it's I'm so bad it's really it's not it's not a good thing one of the books that I'm reading now and I and I do sincerely want to finish is uh it's a mystery about a um TV investigative reporter written by Hank philippy Ryan oh okay who is um um investigative reporter for Channel 7 help me Hank yep up in up in up in Boston she's won all kinds of awards for mystery writing and everything else it's really good and I'm like three quarters done and then I see something else and I go oh I think I'll order that and then I start that so you squel you can yeah read a book spend time Outdoors big difference I sat outside yesterday I like I wasn't feeling great I did not have a wonderful day and I was like you know what I'm going to sit outside so I sat outside with my tea for like 20 minutes and I really felt much better now I have sinus ISS but that's another problem sitting in a small courtyard or walking through a public park can gra drastically drop stress levels within 20 minutes I agree just being in nature period putting your feet on the ground good morning Susan good morning lovely I hope to see you this weekend first tea dance in Province Town excellent Mari Emily thank you for joining us we're squashing we're squashing stress this one may or may not work for you enjoy a creative hobby okay if you can do something that you don't get frustrated doing then the hobby is good what if your hobby is work yeah see that see see see that's a problem you know that is really really a problem it's not good I know and and and speaking of foods eat magnesium rich foods um I take magnesium every night before I go to bed yeah magnesium rich foods include nuts beans Dairy whole grain dark leafy green veget that is supposedly going to help you and then the final one which I think we all know is just get a good night's sleep you're right yeah exactly calm down enough to get a good night's sleep and you won't be quite so stressed yeah magnesium also helps before it's but Li Lily goes Mom that's the best thing you could do for you it's lowest lowering your cortisol rates and helps you go to bed I'm like who are you who are you led it who taught you that I teach you that Emily said so I should come 30 minutes early every Monday we can go for a walk 100% we'll put Savannah in the thing and we'll go you've got right right around right down the down here you've got the park you've got the beach I know um that's what cliff and I did last week we just got up in the middle of like lunchtime drove down to Holly asum Holly which is an the autoban place yep went for a quick little walk around there felt good nice and sunny I was like why do we not do this more often all right we're working on it right we're trying to make healthier habits for our Mental Health also oh we tell ourselves we're going to walk all the time and we look out our window at The Villages and there's all these people hobbling along and we're saying you know we should do that but we've got to finish this first and then we've got to do that then we'll do it after and then it's supp time it's 100% that way and that's why I've like made a point of I'm just gonna do this now I'm never I'm never not gonna have something to do right exactly so I just have to do this for me right now yep and I've really it's it's been an emerging skill uh I'm not doing so great on it we're going to give ourselves progress reports not great emerging skill emerging skill that's an interesting term I've never heard I've never heard that before an emerging skill that's it what's up Deb thanks for joining us on it walk work walk yes I like the work walk a lot yep um what else is going on in the world well we have our um if I can find it oh sandwich police log our sandwich police log I gotta read this one local crazy crime everybody brace yourselves okay I gotta read this one word for word um where is it the pacifier one yes the pacifier one um okay I have to read this word for word because thank you um again we we so much appreciate the sandwich police and all the police and and what they do and and you read some of these things and you say to yourself what are they doing involved in that that's crazy you know they have to be they're peace officers they're peace officers so here we go this is quote unquote from the sandwich police blog a man searching for his child's lost pacifier apparently upset some dogs in an adjacent lot to the path he was searching the dog owner unaware the man was looking for the binky accused him of being a sphincter for taunting his pets the accused orifice invited the dog owner over for a close encounter both are advised to take an example from the child's lost item and assume a more pacifistic attitude and just stay away from each other that's awesome that's just classic you get the feeling that the cops didn't like either one of those guys they have to just be over most of this situation at this point from people's Apple watch calling 911 by accident to you know real estate dealings and battles with people that don't like the way someone looks or this one a call was received for an elderly woman who was hearing knocking at her door in 11: p.m. officers were dispatched for more and again unable to locate the the person who is knocking we know what you're thinking but to quote the legendary Ron poel wait there's more like this is what they deal with every single day finish finish the story that story that was it that was the end of the story oh no no no which one oh no that one the people not a third call was received from that address this time at 2:30 in the morning another check of the area was negative but they still decided to stay in the the area as it appeared the home was being targeted at around 245 officer spotted a young male walking out the street running back in the neighborhood officer spoke to the man who stated that his child and others were spending the night at a neighboring home and they were actually bothering this woman yes little dirt bags 6:45 officers went back to the address unable to awaken the Sleeping Beauties obviously exhausted from being up all late night tormenting an old lady next door little pratts he explained the severity of the incident spoke to all the juvenile's parents and strongly suggested the Little Darlings apologized to the woman who had been unable to sleep she was advised of her harassment prevention rights can you believe that little little little little sphincters yeah right those were the sphincters they used it wrong but again this is what they're tied up doing I know that is ridiculous to spend all night to watch I get it there on they're working anyway and this is their job right but I mean to have to sit there in a neighborhood all night long and figure it out it's a bunch of pilot kids really tormenting this old lady right and they're tied up dealing with this stupid incident stupid kid stupidly when maybe something else is going to happen and they can't get there in time right you know because they're all First Responders and some many many times as you know the um the police show up first as the first responder yeah because they you know they're already out in the neighborhood and they're already driving and you know someone has an emergency and the police officer is often the first person who gets there not the EMT yeah I apologize if you're trying to call into the show right now I cannot take phone calls I had to use the wire somewhere else like I said we're working on it right but but you can send Stephanie a text message at I mean I wires all of a sudden the upstairs thermostat doesn't work I'm like no they took that they took that out oh yeah they chewed it they chew through the wire oh yeah you need you need freaking squirrels yeah you need somebody to come over here and get and no we can't we called it exterminator they can't do anything about it they can't cuz they're squirrels what they're protected oh I'm not making this up we've already had the Exterminator he was like yeah we can't do anything about squirrels are protected yes yes you can't they can't be exterminated oh right okay trust me we went with the professionals we know better I guess do I want my husband crawling around the attic what what bad could go wrong anything he could fall through the exactly this is why you call the professionals and they were like sorry we can't help you great thanks wonderful oh no no that's whatever exactly not fun not fun no that's not that's not good you need to you need to be able to protect yourself thank you I agree Hank what's going on in the world of Hank just get just get him a shotgun and he'll blow them away like that's what we need around the house God Almighty can you see can you see Cliff up in yes like y Sam I can't this is not this is not what we need in our lives no Emily said they're like squatters they got rights BS very good Emily very good Perry leie will get rid of them in a safe way yes thank you yes they they're cool we work with them we called Animal Control um they sent us over to the police station which the police station lent us their traps so that's what we've been trapping them with trust me we've been the the squirrel hole trying to figure this out call Perry Lew we can we can vouch for those guys you can okay yeah we can vouch for them it's fine getting them out it's just that they find their way back in so we have to figure out exactly how they're finding their way back in no talk to those guys they're excellent okay they're EXC make another call new exterminator yes no they're very good and I told I I can't talk to you right now I would like to who is it I don't know I don't know huh I have caller ID I know the phone number but I don't I can't help you with that and we haven't even given out the phone number so right oh maybe it's someone telling you you've you've expired get get gone all right so I'm out tonight we've got trivia only a few weeks left of trivia we are winding down our weeks uh with our seasonal gigs right now it's kind of crazy to me that we've I've got a month of Yacht Club left before we transition I've got a month left over at um trivia for Shipwrecked things are winding down in that realm and they're picking up in the other realm so and you'll be doing trivia with Rec in the summer though no no no we stop in June oh okay we stop in June um and we will be back up in September just they're it's crazy in the Heights that's true it is it's just wild they're good I'm going to be doing some morning shows over there it's going to be breakfast so I'm working on a program yeah we'll we'll not end our relationship over there breakfast trivia yes no not breakfast trivia I'm going to do the morning show from there oh we are yes cool yes and there's another place where we have to get to that's just opening it's opening shortly that we talked about I'm looking forward to it doing a show at yes so we're going to be booking our tours if you'd like to see us on the summer tour at a certain area in a certain town please let us know what town you'd like to find us in and we definitely will be doing some shows on the road because we got to get out we got to meet the people we got to see the cape and if this is the only way I'm going to look at a beach then fine all right well I'm in I'm in take a road tour with me this summer Hank absolutely looking forward to it so I'll be at chip wreck tonight for trivia Kristen is out doing music Bingo over at Bailey's weham they've got the big billboard sign great new bar over there definitely support our locals this week is local business week so whatever your small local business is please shop them take care of them give them your business yes I know partner with J's gonna be there and all kinds of cool people I know right but Lake Street j i I would love to see Lake Street Dive it's my favorite hippie show ever customers will be like hear those gunshots don't worry about them they're just executing animals it's not my basement and we're not executing animals we not doing that here nothing to see here folks just getting rid of some squirrels
