saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book club I really suo at CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual proud of it we're here don't worry about us hey that's why we say 7:30ish you know we had the is side of 7:30 yeah um I've got a lot on my plate today I know you had a lot on your plate you had a rough morning oh man I was so proud of myself I was the only one home last night I got up this morning did everything I had to do made myself a little breakfast took the trash out finished loading the dishwasher like I'm doing good things I'm doing good things crushing this day placed in My Little My My Little coffee order coffee and a and a donut um don't listen Mari um on my Dunkin Donuts app and I went out to the car and tried to start the car and it wouldn't start I left the keys in the car oopsies I shouldn't say that but um I left the keys in some I left the keys somewhere in the car you're in a gated community I'm in a gated community so we leave him in the garage and sometimes when it gets cool enough the the battery in the in the key thing gets cold yeah the fob yeah and it needs to warm up and I didn't think it had gotten that cold overnight but I looked out and the people who live on the opposite side of where we are they left their car out and their windshield was kind of like frosted over and I went oh so I'm pushing the button pushing the button pushing the button I'm thinking when do I call Steph and say can we do this online when do I call Steph and say we can do this online it'll start it'll start it always starts and then boom it starts get out swing around it dunks walk in there's my coffee and where's the rest of my order uh it's one of those mornings one of those mornings Nate you're actually on my list of people to talk to sorry I forgot you that's okay that's okay and they were like oh you ordered something else but I made it he's here before 7:30 right me on the other hand I was busy had a deadline and I just like there was just a particular snafu an episode that I just couldn't fix it was just taking me forever but we're here yes I know good uh mari's with us and so is Gloria Gloria who's gallivanting along the Canadian I don't even know where you are anymore how was book club last night Mari well that's Mari was supposed to be on the show with us today and Mari opted for book club over us yeah she blew blew us off for book club her last book club looked really fun like they took Ubers to a restaurant and took Uber's home so I like like this book club how do I get involved you should very easy just just talk to Mari no my husband will be mad why because he does not like when I spend the night out without him oh really hates it oh like it's a process for me to leave him he doesn't like being alone hates it really yeah now see I was just told to get over it no right I tell him that all the time I give him lots of exercises which is I'm leaving like Saturday I'm Le I'm leaving I'm not even given the option to say you know what I don't think that's a good idea if you know marra you know how this works it's just I'm going to book club yeah right application in triple form it's obnoxious where are you going who are you going with the process is obnoxious for me to like have moments alone how going and I'm going out with like the girls like I'm doing like little one night one night here two nights here it's not a lotes like it you almost said one night's dead right a one night stand with my best friend bye you know these things happen oh my gosh and usually it's like us eating junk food and laughing our pants off and falling asleep by 8 o'clock like there's nothing that anybody's missing right that's for sure y nothing worth taking pictures of no no definitely not definitely not oh my gosh good morning Sarah poor Sarah I wanted to hang I wanted to hang out with you the other day at the back to business bash but there turned out to be like 700 people there and every time I see a photo of someone online I'm like you were there I was there I didn't see anybody right even though I saw everybody that happens all the time I hate that people are there now the other thing I had to ask you about and we should discuss this I came down your street yep and I went to take a left into your street correct and there's crime scene tape yep yep and I went um did I did I miss something did Stephie forget to tell me that no last what was it Thursday I think so or the Wednesday Thursday whatever day it was that I was prepping for my procedure um I came home to you can't use this road I was like H what do you mean we had so much rain and the wind was wild it knocked down one of the trees it knocked a Transformer down and knocked out the power to our neighborhood so we were without power for about 10 hours yeah and it takes a while to to replace a Transformer but the best part was they didn't do anything they literally just put up crime scene tape and Cliff had to call 911 because he's like there's a live wire bopping around the middle of the road and they were just like there you go we'll deal with that later right literally later like a whole 10 hours later at least shut the power off Yeah by by the time that they got to deal with it but yeah people said that they were just plowing but through it like no one cared we're just going through because it was so dark in the middle of the night you didn't see the crime scene tape and and and if you're in a car you're on rubber tires so you're fine anyway yeah yeah you just don't want to walk through you can drive through it well also that area gets that puddling that ping so you know hydroplane through that whole Corner which is why my fence looks the way it looks because it's been hit so many times because I I'm just on one of those bad Corners so I see the crime scene tape and then I look at the house on the opposite side and it looks like a bomb went off yeah my annoying neighbor that's getting a new roof he's the one I don't like with the bad voice oh the he's a summer person he's the whiner yeah exactly I'm the Wier with the summer person voice right summer people Su are not correct thank you Hank for that I appreciate that good morning Miss Emily it was crazy sorry I missed you too um Lynn you have been uh she's been moving out of her house that she's like you've had a process I've been following you online yes I feel like that's a little stalkery considering we've never met in person but I feel like I know your life very well this is also the parts of Facebook I do like because I do like being part of people's lives even though not physically in them so when I do see them it's like catching we don't have to catch up we don't have to do all the leg work we know what's happened in your life already right all right she's home for the next 17 days oh the Tuesday news funny you should mention that because the sandwich police blog blotter starts off with a mash pie story oh really ah so we can jump right on into uh yeah right you get them both the sandwich police log but it started out with a um you know the the regular stuff the wellness checks people calling the police to check on somebody's barking dog and then it gets to if you live in mashby your Amazon order might be late a local man found a trash bag filled with Amazon boxes and packages and a pile of brush on the side of his house and they're checking the area they've got no Witnesses nobody had any um ring cam footage of the area just a random bag full Amazon boxes in the woods you think the Amazon driver said ask for when I'm done maybe I'm not sure a caller called 911 instead of 411 so that was another thing that they had to report on the Block the lock although although don't they have to take pictures when they deliver now because we had a prescri this is Bizarro we had a PCT a a u prescription delivered from CVS because it went to hyas instead of the one here in MHP and the the GPS in The Villages is not that good I don't I don't know why it's been there for 20 years but it's not that good and this guy comes to the door and he says I have a prescription for you for CVS I said oh great he said but would you mind going down to the parking lot at the clubhouse for the golf course I said why he said well that's where the GPS says your address is and I can't give it to you here I have to go down to where the GPS says are you kidding kid me no no so he took the he took the bag out of the out of his truck or whatever put it down in front of the tennis courts took a picture of it that almost seems scammy and it said our address boom bo boom he said see I'm all set now thank you very much and gave me the gave me the prescription and I went home and what if he was a robber what if he was a murderer what if he was just you were expecting this package though I didn't know we weren't expecting it that early and he was just some guy in a pickup truck I so I don't know a lot of red flags here lot of flags but it was a prescription we needed and he didn't ask for any money and speaking of which this was also on the police log officers were dispatched to a local pharmacy to a trespassing woman with a history of unruly Behavior I wonder if it's our friend Angela I feel as if I might know some of these people unruly Behavior who is getting picked up at their local pharmacy for unruly Behavior like you're a known person here to be unruly in the drugstore that makes no sense right another day another scam this one is someone claiming to be a member of law enforcement instructing victims that they need to pay cash and clear up their legal issues a man came into the station and reports several political signs he had placed that's going to be the thing now yep the stolen political signs I've seen them all over social media people complaining about them what's up Justin I hope you're doing well where's your next meditation I'm curious I think I need a little a little cleanse I need some of your good Aura what's up Susan and hey Stephanie good to talk to you thanks for joining Hank and I this morning we're just going over the sandwich police log that just gives question I have a question how do people keep falling for those scams what you know it's the police you need to pay cash I'll just I mean give me your badge number isn't it out there enough now that these are scams I I don't understand how people keep most people don't question authority and especially if you're an older person you're just like oh okay like here you go little Johnny needs my money yeah go yeah of course the big scam is someone calls grandar and says you know your grandchild's in trouble and and they need bail money this and that and they go right they go right along right along with it yeah you know I don't I don't get it rtb says now they take a picture of whatever they want it's not even the package in your front door right she she's a friend she's a friend of oh my gosh oh my God good stuff well thank you Gloria for uh kicking off the day here with uh doing our little crazy crime stories we enjoy it and this is just our local police blotter let alone what's going on nationally for our crazy crimes they get deep Hank they get deep they do National punctuation day remember it could change a sentence as a former as as a former English teacher I'm very excited about this day yeah yes well it could actually change the trajectory of the things that you were saying with the wrong punctuation we've all seen our little memes all over social media oh yeah yeah I have a I have a thing about semicolons why I don't know I use them often I do too oh okay you know if you if you have a string of things instead of saying and and it's not a comma it's a semicolon right well you know why we just make this big long list right right but you know why we do that why because the nuns taught you and then nuns taught me oh okay see that's that's a you don't think it's a often used situation oh no I see it not used a lot when I was grading papers back the sushi girl so very excited for that so here we are Tuesday we are the last Tuesday in September isn't that weird uh it's flying this year is flying by I was looking at the projected spending for Halloween 11 billion dollar 11 billion dollar when did things get so far out of control about Halloween wasn't it just like you know your mother took a sheet put iets in it and something so you could breathe and bought a bag of candy we almost died in those Halloween costumes that were very very very much flammable oh I know oh and also the plastic face that we suffocated in if we were even able to get the nice one my mother made my homemade costumes which I had no idea how she had time for any of that really was a little bit of face pain and some stuff that she concocted from leftover clothes somewhere they were always terrible costumes and then that snap in the back of your mask I can still feel the sting on the side of my cheeks for when it snapped or broke or something happened yep oh the good memories of good costumes now they're expecting a record crowds up in Salem where Miss Lily is oh yeah and they're tell telling people take public transportation walk please don't try to drive they already have the signs of do not parking on the side of the road now they're just it's already an influx of the tourism I uh have a privilege of uh attending their Opening Ceremonies MH with the uh chamber the Salem Chamber of Commerce oh really and so there's like a big parade how did you get that I don't know I got swindled into a free gig is what I did isn't it gonna be great you're gonna be a part of this like am I I'm not you got me to work for free all the way up in Salem yes how did you do that yes so I got a DJ Gig I'm gonna be DJing for free in Salem yeah um right exactly so at least I'll get the privilege of taking my daughter out more expensive for dinner and and also days before parents weekend so I'm like so now I got to come back parents weekend yep great I love it so excited um but it is going to be a really good time and I I will get to see the pomp the circumstance the Fanfare that goes along with opening weekend so we got a letter from Salem State yesterday and I know my daughter's not on Facebook so she'll never catch me talking about this my other one might tell her but she won't ruin the surprise it says send a photo because parents day has like a brunch send a photo of your students um with a little caption and I'm like that's loaded like I nine gazillion photos of her because she was of the age in which we had iPhones so we had photos of pretty much her entire life on social media um where do where does one just pick one where do we do that I was like it's got to be fun it's got to be cute it's got to be when she's not embarrassed about but also like a little uncomfortable about yeah exactly it's got It's I got work to do I had homework I was going through all of them Cliff how about this one how about this one how about this one what about that one but I found a cute little one where she was a baby and she was dressed up in a witch costume so I might send that just be like she's been training her whole life you know something cute that's a good idea yeah and just throw that up it's interesting what you say about I mean Mariana's whole life is on my is on my phone yeah from from literally from the moment she before she was born my older kids not so my my mid 20s um no they're not all there yeah half yeah now Megan we had digital cameras and things were put on the hard drive yeah and the hard drives froze so so all those pictures of of Megan when she was 8 n 10 11 12 whatever to just they're gone yeah oh I like that idea Gloria make a collage smart Ryan my mom once made my sister a homemade mummy costume she looked like a head of lettuce a mummy whoa whoa whoa yes had a lettuce instead of a supposed to be a mummy yep I love it buy the costume save the humiliation yeah you can recover them Hank all the I think the hard drives are all gone I think when we moved we just you know think we took it with us Cindy also says I can still smell that plastic mask oh I know right that's a that's a bad memory how did we not die in those things they were terrible tripping and falling through the neighborhood sweating your rear end off because it was probably made of asbestos most assuredly because they didn't want you to go up in Flames get cancer maybe but you're not gonna go up in Flames oh my God I'm I'm getting the kitty as best as I can I so bad yeah 11 billion dollar what's up Ricky B question of the day is what what's a good response to give to someone that was like oh you look tired well as I wrote and I've mentioned before um when I needed a haircut yeah my mother would say to me you know you look tired well that's because of when this white hair gets long yeah and I'm kind of palish anyway if it's not the summer time yeah I kind of start to wash out oh and and the minute she would say if I'd see her and she'd say you know you need haircut like the next day I'm getting my haircut because because that was the sign that was the word from on high get a haircut sunny boy well although she said it nicely yeah a lot of people had stuff to say about you know the the responses have been tremendous tremendous I really appreciate them it must be from dealing with you thank respond to that rude I've got a full schedule day and lots of meetings today great meetings yesterday was like one of those days where I felt like everybody came out of their Woodworks or had planned to have a conversation with me or over the last month if they had planned to have a conversation with me wanted to have one yesterday oh okay like you was busy meeting meeting meeting meeting I'm like okay I hope this is fruitful and were any of them fruitful um some of them we've got a lot of fun planning things that are coming up uh and our 05k is taking on a new life oh good so we did it last year I can't wait to do it again it is bigger this year oh it's a 6K no it's still a 05k it's barely walking I think you and Mari were one of the seven people that did do the 05k that we had had throughout the bre Brewery of knockabout yep we have the stickers on our car I love it I love it and you will in fact get your own sticker we've got them printed already I've got them around here somewhere all right because you need proof that you did your 05k right this year we're doing it for the women's early detection fund and it's going to be in the mash B comments it's going to be our final mashby Farmers Market of the season so it's going to be before that we have water station set up we've got a bag Piper to open it up we have a chiropractor that's gonna come and do a stretching clinic for a5k for a 05k oh we're going all we're making this a big thing it's a big to-do and water station oh yeah the fire department's coming over with a big flag they're bringing the big flag over and what's the date of this one this is October 13th quench uh training is coming over and the women oh my gosh that from my gym are going to be doing the treadmill so you can sponsor them for a dollar a minute that they're on the treadmill it's gonna be an absolute spectacle and I just cannot wait oh my goodness for this point 5K it's a tiny distance but a big impact is the tagline with a semicolon it's semicolon that's right that's correct that is correct it's a semicolon absolutely that is correct so we definitely encourage you to join us it's our last Mash B Farmers Market it's also we're celebrating indigenous people's day and K9 Cara from the mash BPD is going to be there having her first birthday party yay she's inviting all of the other companion canines in the area to come and have a birthday party this is all on the 13th of October absolutely yes we're going out with a bang Hank wow right that's a lot of stuff going on yes it is going to so definitely coming join us as we flip Seasons we're going to have one more party in between before we get ready for our our Cap Cod Christmas Market and that runs from one to one um our Christmas Market is November 24th through December 15th just on Sundays right same place yep same exact place and uh we have over 200 applications wow and we've been sifting through them so if you've submitted your application and you're waiting for a response please be patient we are working on that it should be done by the end of this week so how do you how do you sift through them I mean what what's well obviously the four the people that commit to all four of them and get first di yeah and then once we fill up like there's allocations for only a certain amount of Jewelers only a certain amount of Bakers just so everybody's got an opportunity to show off their best you it's not fair if only one person's here and there and then it blows up our other our other people that are involved so okay gotcha we're trying to do it judiciously and uh it's should be a really really big week last year we had such an amazing turnout with just the 20 vendors that we had yeah this year we're we're coming back stronger we've got uh the Cap Cod Photo Bus that's going to be there the first week so you can come we've got a professional photographer Sue Unleashed so you can bring your dog and your whole family and have that photo if you want to use for Christmas photos because our first Market happens the week before Thanksgiving okay so you'll be able to get that digital photo and make your Christmas cards out of them which is going to be amazing then we have got uh the goat cracker oh I remember that we have uh oh we've done way more work to this one we've got a stage performance on this one we've got some music involved now I'm going to be narrating oh oh so it's not the same Master of Ceremonies no no I'll be the Master of Ceremonies for the goat cracker where did he go by the way Lord knows Lord knows for that one he came up with the conversation Mari and I were talking about him the other day yeah I said I wonder where he went and I said I have no idea back into the ocean back from once he came my God yeah we put tutos on them and we narrate The Nutcracker then you get to pet the goats Cindy this Sunday how far is that in miles it's a half a mile Ricky Cindy it's nothing really it's nothing less than a kind of too bad because they had a good year I mean there was that time in in in June when they were just about the best team in baseball and then it's all just kind of you know pooped out on them and and people are going to look back they're going to look at their record they're going to go it wasn't a great year but it but it was but they're safely in third place not last place and they and they have already won more games this year than last um but but it could have been it it could have been better but that's okay it's not as bad as we thought no oh gosh no now what about the Patriots as bad as we thought okay just checking oh Amy I just saw photo of you you look like you're absolutely living your best life uh I don't know whether it's the fresh air retirement moving out of mash p uh but you look like you have a new lease on life and I'm very excited for you and where is Amy these days she I'm not quite sure where they ended up except not here correct her husband retired and they sold their home and they've got this amazing RV that they've been taking all these Adventures on so maybe they're just full-time in it uhuh um and bop it around to see where is the place that they like best right that's fun I'm very jealous of your adventures except don't go to Florida right now you know our friends down in down in the Tampa area you know we have some we have faithful listeners down there yeah I I I checked in last night and I said how you guys doing and the answer back was we'll let you know tomorrow oh that bad huh yeah Julian Julie and Andy she said I Julie said I I'll Aaron Hernandez drama how was that I don't know I watched like five minutes of it because I can't sit still and it didn't Captivate me MH and it was like too much yeah I don't know it began with like violence and I can't deal with a lot of that stuff and especially like I don't know parental violence and stuff it it was just like upsetting visually for me so I shut it off I no hatred towards Ryan who is the American Horror Story King right Ryan Murphy uh but I just couldn't watch the Aaron Hernandez story it was a little too much for me a little too close to home and I had a jersey and I don't think there's anything in there that's going to surprise any of us who live around here yeah right I mean we unfortunately know all the dirty details yeah yeah you're right and probably not all the dirty details because there's probably more there I left a lot of that on the table thank you very much okay I found this article and I wanted to go through it with you okay 10 phrases people use when they secretly don't like you well wait wait a minute you want to go through it with me I do not you oh thank you just with you okay thank you um well it's always funny when you run into business people I was at the back to business bash and 700 people there and people that um I just have chosen not to do business with anymore okay for various reasons or people that you just don't want to yeah deal with okay and one of them awkwardly hugged me oh and then wouldn't leave so I like continue to have a conversation with the person I was having a conversation with and stay there I S like didn't ackn it and then but didn't move my conversation because I clearly didn't want to talk to that person oh and they waited a little bit too long for me before they realized to just move on with their day it was just like a very awkward moment which is why I don't like being in giant crowds like that yeah it was just it was a weird moment for me you think they wanted to kiss and make up and say they were sorry they're just very fake you know what I mean I'm I'm one of those people that wear my whatever feeling on my sleeve you know how I feel Pete from knockabout it's like pulling a china shop here she comes here she comes and I just I am I'm very matter of fact and sometimes that gets me in trouble with the things that I say because I'm very matter of fact about the way that I say them I don't pull any punches and things a lot uh and I don't know why everything is beeping and booping over here so iiz who's gonna ask you if I if I was hearing things or no you're not okay it's here um with that said though I was in one of those awkward situations so I wanted to just kind of this caught my eye today 10 phrases people use when they secretly don't like you I also don't notice when people don't want to talk to me I don't take social cues like that oh okay the bull in the china shop okay oh wait you don't like me oh sorry but I like you I don't notice that's why I posted the meme the other day you like but you saw the red flags right I thought it was a carnival I I don't notice these things so maybe if I could be a little bit more aware self-aware when I'm in Social settings like this I'll be less annoying to others I'm always in a constant state of learning Hank I guess so and I think we could be too in our business interactions and our regular life interactions do things a little bit better or notice when someone just doesn't want to talk to you of course I guess some people have low standards well that's just rude yeah saying something like that is rude I would remove myself from it yeah yeah that's doesn't work um I couldn't handle being in your situation oh I don't yeah it's a backhanded conversation right there yeah that's so typical of you oh that's a little things I don't think I've ever said we can all be perfect we can all be perfect I think I've said that like mocking something but not seriously but not ever in actual conversations I could never pull that outfit off yeah that's one that's one yeah people say these things to people yep yeah I could never wear that yeah you've always been an individual I think I've heard that before wait Hank I think some of these have been used on me oh okay then let's keep going you must not care what people think I I'm not judging but others might these are these are my favorite the butts in there right I wouldn't do that but semicolon but exactly and then finally number 10 I'm just really busy oh right I don't have time for you I recently had to fire a client really because you didn't have time for them I I really I outgrew them um but they were also just like circling the drain sort not getting out of their own way not changing their station and I mean years like one of my longest clients really for two years really um and I I left them I left them lovingly in a situation but I could no longer Circle that drain with them so to speak you had moved on I did and it it was always I'm just so busy so busy oh stop that I'm like you're not you're not that I know I am a busy person I will still find time you might be in the queue it might be five days later but I will in fact get back to you at some point somewhere right right you're not that busy and if you think you are you've got a issue reeval your s re-evaluate your situation and your business dealings that's all I have to say yes well that that's too bad you had was somebody over here I know it was unfortunate but also that like we both had like need other things so it was fine did you part friends we did oh good we did right you know like let's have a drink somewhere down the road when we both get out of this you know area of space and you won't no absolutely not well that's how you feel better it's fine um wow I have heard a lot of these yes friend I apologize to you if that is I've definitely heard a lot of those at me but I'm also very oblivious so if you don't like me I don't notice no she just she just forges on right ahead full steam ahead we got a billion people here I'll find somebody right what's up Ryan how are you thanks for joining us on the show this morning we got a lot of people catching up to us this morning do um Ryan and I are working on some sort of CW day clam jam Festival uh that we're trying to slip into November and all of our busyness here it is fullon Fall Festival season yeah there's a lot going on it really is it's like this church and that church and this one and that one and this Fest and that Fest and I'm down for it I'm out for festival season right give me some snacks in a band I say yes to this you know and then all the churches will start well you remember back in adbor the Bazar there was that that that string I think was either right around Thanksgiving or right after yeah where you you would take one day and and every Church you just went from one Church you know the Lutheran Church and the temple and every everybody had their had their Christmas festival at the same time I was a chubby kid I was like I'm here for the big Goods just roll it roll but that was fun it was fun I love it yeah brownies and popcorn balls and whatever else the all the nanas were rolling out of their kitchen I was down for it right right give me the ornaments I loved every ounce of it so I do love this season it is festive for me oh yeah and speaking of attelboro and and North attelboro they found the last bull what was that about you know I thought when I first heard the story I was paying attention and I thought it was like some kind of promotional thing like it was a bull run or something exactly paying attention yeah and then Mari said to me oh no they got away and they like ran up and down Route One and they found one all the way over in alabar bu yeah Bulls folks they were having some kind of rodeo at the at the Emerald Square Mall they they got to do a lot of stuff to get people coming to the Emerald Square Mall first of all because it's dying on the vine um but they all of a sudden like get away and if you look at the video you see all these Cowboys standing there looking and the Bulls are just running up rout one and they're like what do we do now but I I wish I could have seen this on Route One and other places 100% the Cowboys were on their horses chasing the Bulls now if you them if you live in Middle America like this is not crazy to you but where we live in New England and especially adab which is like very the BBS y with just like thousands of cars and Route One is a crazy place but to think of actual Bulls just bopping around route one and that crazy stretch where the mall is makes me laugh out loud that would be like bulls running up and down Route 132 yeah if if you're not familiar with with route one that you know kind of starts in Paka and goes to alboro north alboro and and up further if you're looking for a store to find something it's all there if you can't find a store that has what you're looking for you don't need it or it doesn't exist yeah yeah there like every store in the world yep miles and miles of like strip malls and then regular malls and just it's it's a lot it's like being in sagus it's what it's really become it's like being in sagus uhuh it's what it's become yep yep so for Bulls to be running up and down there that's ridiculous oh I wish I could I would have loved to have seen it I didn't see any of that on social media out of ouro friends I'm disappointed why have you not been sharing these things I need to see them right maybe some of you have pictures I don't I don't I don't know I want to see them I want to see some Bulls roaming about so fun yeah what's going on um in the industry I was just editing a podcast this morning that was talking about mortgages and rates and people freaking out and should they refinance should they buy the house now should they buy the house and then refinance again there's a lot of stress going on with the market right now the best week to buy a home statistically is actually next week okay um mortgage rates are down to about six if you have really good credit they're they're in the fives it's not expected that they're going to go any lower than that um you know and and the thing is like we've talked about before people have been waiting and waiting and waiting and and at what point if you're living in a house that's too small or a house that's too big do you just say pull the trigger I gotta do this yeah because you're you're wasting money you're you're stressing yourself out um for those of you who are first-time home buyers guess what buying your first home is scary it's supposed to be okay yep right I mean we we've both you know bought our bought our first homes and was like oh my God what are we doing and guess what you do it yeah yep exactly you know it's just like it's a lesser expense but it's just like when you finally say you know what I really have to just buy a new car well I was just listening to a mortgage expert and she said the actual um length of a mortgage even though it's scary you know you're signing these documents that are 15 30 year mortgages she goes the average length of a mortgage is three years in this current climate yeah because you refinance because the r a little better or you move people aren't moving um people used to move every five years they're moving about every seven to eight now um so there's a lot of pent up we really got to get out of here I mean I always use as the example the you know young couple with a baby on the way that bought the two-bedroom one bath Ranch and now they've got three kids and and Grandma needs a place to live or it could be like my friend Rachel who's just building a whole new Wing to the house ah what what's going on in your backyard like holy cow they're really doing it whole new addition on the back of it good for you guys yeah yeah not that I would want to be having a baby but oh she is yeah she's having another one wow congratulations you guys yes congratulations that's just a lot like I feel like when you're in that space though and you're growing whether it's your family or your whatever just willing to be like bleep it we're going to do all we're all in take up the whole backyard go right ahead Y and more people need to do that just say you know this is this is life because you're gonna look back and you're gonna say oh why didn't I do that I know well you're in a growth phase I feel like once you finally get over that hump of making that first decision the rest fall in line but yeah making that first step is always a little bit scary and I have friends of mine that refuse to take that step to have a mortgage they just continually rent because they're just not sure about anything yeah and you're losing money you it's unfortunate you know yeah yeah it really yeah it really it really is but but it's not for everybody so no I mean there's I mean I'm I am better off I am better off as a condo owner than than I was as a homeowner I'm just not you know I can mow the lawn so jealous of your I can kind of sort of plant flowers when we first bought the house down here in the cape I was young enough I mean we had a um a driveway up to the garage and we had had a circle driveway in front when we first moved here I mean I was able to shovel that yeah you know after a certain time it got to be no I really can't oh I cannot wait to not deal with any of that between tree work and all the other stuff I'm like can we just get a place where we don't have to do any of the outside stuff right my daughter will be devastated she loves her little garden but she's not GNA be here all that much she's grown and she's moving on with her life right crowd surfing somewhere in Worcester um I mean I mean you you guys are really condo people yeah you know because so bus busy with your business yeah that you shouldn't have to worry about you know our life is very different now right right for sure and and there's nothing like hearing for the first time when it snows someone outside your window shoveling your stairs and then the plow comes and they shovel your driveway I can't wait for that Hank that's happing you're like wow this is this is cool I mean where we live now I could shovel the stairs I could shovel our little portion in front of our garage if I if I wanted to It's not that it's just it's so nice to sit back and say I don't have to do that anymore yeah right all right so this is like harvest season we're getting tons of stuff from our garden we're getting tons of stuff from our food what's going on Cape Cod dining at home and everywhere else um we we are thinking about a couple of Mari if you want to jump in couple of contests are are on the way uh one is going to be for a fall drink oh I like that um that that we do not pumpkin spice right right we do we do a drink contest every every year um with the folks at Holly Ridge and and kitty who's the who's the manager at the at the restaurant and um and then you know we I volunteer every year for judging all right but we'll have to the last time we did it you weren't available because you were busy um but we kind of narrow it down to you know like three or four drinks and then we all Circle up around the bar and kitty makes the drinks and and we and we check them I love it it's super fun so when I get home from the farmers market I'll always have an abundance of this right now I've got cucing uh cucing cucing pickling cukes I made it all one word okay and uh some beets so I'm going to do some pickling at some point this week I don't know when in all of my free time yeah but I've been using them like a like a chopped challenge like here's your box of whatever what are we gonna make with it it's been a fun little kitchen thing that I've been doing with myself right right because I always pretend I'm on a little cooking show and I'm in there by myself making up God knows whatever it is there you go and it's usually just me eating it I'm like anybody want to try it they did try my squash sule the other day they did not love that squash sule they did they did attempt to eat it didn't come out the way I envisioned one of the vendors on on on Sunday had these little tiny squashes yep that you're just supposed to like cut and cook and and put like cinnamon and something else in and and we haven't done it yet but they were like not a whole lot bigger than this yeah yeah really cool all right I'm just down for something different I need I need a change of pace going on so you're supposed to be eating with the season right and right now it's just a lot of squash and I'm over the squash okay I love squash I love it too but I'm sick of it I'm over asparagus oh see I'll have that all day every day no no when you go to a restaurant yeah you know and the vegetables just like oh God no what else do you have well we have steamed broccoli I'll take steamed broccoli oh my God I'll well this is the season of roasted beet vegetables and Brussels sprouts and whatnot so I also like that I'll do that I'm learning to like brussels sprouts because Mari likes brussels sprouts well you just put a ton of olive oil on it and a little bit of salt and then it's no longer brussels sprouts it's just fat so it's great it's delicious my God what's going on on lunch break today today on lunch break we're going to be talking about why speaking about pumpkin spice why the pumpkin spice season seems to be starting earlier and earlier oh yeah is it a Starbucks gimmick no well we'll we'll we'll find out Mari says fall drinks and then everything pickles perfect because I've got a lot of those things I'll be watching your page very closely also our page events on Cape has really done an amazing job share it's finally working where people are sharing some amazing places and things that I've never seen on the cape so I love the events keep sharing we're over 8,000 uh people and it's growing daily so I love the events but none of the other nonsense please I will delete you I will I will not afraid of it anymore yes um what's up jod thanks for joining us on Communications classes are pretty full and um we're doing some pocket size podcasts with them and uh they've really really impressed me as to their knowledge from last year to this year and how much they've they've grown especially in the digital space right and being comfortable putting together reels and being comfortable uh editing software and using all of this stuff it's it's amazing and they're not using AI to do it I'm teaching them how to actually do it so good yeah it's awesome and uh Tim Miller keeps threatening to come on the air with us formerly of the Cap Cod Times he's also a professor over at fores uh but he's got this music show that he wants to roll out with uh Tony Reigns but Tony just had a medical incident so hopefully uh we wish you well Tony we hope you recover quickly uh I know you're working on it and uh we're we're looking forward to having you here on Lemon Ado as part of the fam we appreciate it also sethy from elastic Glam has hooked me up with Kate Pearson of the b52s she's got a new album that's coming out and I've got an interview with her coming up this week so we'll be airing that as well I'm hoping to get her physically in the studio uh
