saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I really Su at CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual just had a proud of it I know it's a special kind of coach that decides we're going to have 8:30 in the morning practice on Labor Day on Labor Day Monday thank you so much but here we are we were we were up anyway yeah yeah what are we gonna do with a Monday off let's be honest I know I have all these visions of sleeping in and I still wake up exactly at the same time same no matter what so I'm like I'm what's your what's your time might as well well I'll wake up at 5: and I make myself go back to sleep yeah yeah and then by 6:30 I can no longer take it I'm up okay yeah mine's mine is about quarter to 5 and I'm like this is not real right and then it's about quarter to six I'm like okay well you can get up now yeah yeah at least you're allowed yeah to go do those things you can go make yourself coffee now well today I was really lucky because I had a magical elf I had so much activity over the weekend it was absurd yeah it was good absurd though yes it was good baby girl off to college left with her a whirlwind of disaster behind her of course that's what they do best because not only was she taking all of her belongings and leaving us but she was also relocating in the house her bedroom oh for when she returns correct yes yeah so I'm like do we have to do all of this now can we like put this off a little bit until like Christmas break no no we can't we do it all or nothing yeah yeah so um my house is a formal disaster not anymore tell us why so I had Karen and she's like can I can I clean the this is what I like to do everyone needs a Karen I had a full day yesterday like a 15-hour day between like a farmers market and dropping things off dropping my j1's off yes so got them out of the house really we lost half our household in a day like what happened what have you done what what's wrong with you and I knew it was in the mental plan but when it actually happens I think it's like yeah it's that empty nest a little bit Yeah and then baby boy is up and early and ready for football practice mom can we leave now I'm like I'm working go ask your other parent exactly thank you we're lucky and not everybody has a Caren to fix it for them or to make pancakes before they go to football practice it's a wonderful thing here at the uh via household the Viva Ranch is on fire right now with things to do and we don't slow down in the fall no I know a lot of people have seasonal businesses around here and kudos to you for surviving it I know that this last month has definitely been a trial for people as our college students as our j1's their time expires but you still have to continue to do business in your business yeah and you have Angry tourists like why don't you have this today why are you out because you're you came with all your friends and you bought me out and there's worst problems I could have I see plenty of tables that are open well you may see open tables but there's no waitress to wait on you or no waiter to wait on you so please have patience I guess that's the bottom line right every 100% as we enter as it's called lovingly by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce second summer second summer because it's just awesome you get to enjoy the place in which we live yeah nice Beach nights I really noticed it when I was able to make a left-hand turn during the week this week it was kind of nice yeah can I say that like not a lot of tourists came for Labor Day no I think that a lot of schools are starting back earlier we did and this weekend was like borderline dead it was comfortable here on the cape um uh not so with the farmers market we had an influx because it wasn't a beach day right so all of a sudden everyone was like this is the I was like yeah cuz it's not a beach day it is the best thing to do it did rain on our parade right around 2 o'clock so that kind of ended the market for us which I I wasn't complaining about I was I think everybody we had such a busy day that we were like okay we're good oh we're wrapping it up an hour early I'm fine yep exactly so Jen Christian if you do not know her and have not seen her face on our show she's have you not met me with eforall she also has her own nonprofit car seat mama I do yep so today I'm gonna share some back to school tips for the car seats and I'm going to share our fall 2024 cohort that has been selected from 40 applicants we narrowed it down to 24 interviews and then we narrowed it down to 15 entrepreneurial businesses comprised of 18 entrepreneurs I've seen almost every prod process of eforall or been a part of almost every process of eforall from start to finish um you can always volunteer your time if you've got a specific skill if you think that you might be helpful and determining who should or shouldn't or how to help or thr always looking for yeah Specialists mentors um readers interviewers all the things so if you've got time to give we would love to take your time and I won't divulge which but but one of the new cohort members actually came to think to be an expert and then did a pivot in her own business and is now part of this cohort so I was like okay mind blown yeah yeah it's it's really it is really cool um so whenever whichever what do we wanna I don't talk let's talk about the new the the fall clar let's talk about them so we have I will read off who we have we have Acorn Cottage press she is a author and um she has two books out and I believe she's working on her third um very cool mom uh all about inclusionary books as her children have some um different abilities so she wants that represented in print which is so important oh did she do a pitch she did the pitch yes she is a lovely human she is such a lovely books are beautiful the illustrations I'm excited I did not know that she was involved in this good morning Eva M thanks for joining us she um has just introduced stuffies into her line cute and she went with a linen doll and I'm like oh that's so it just goes with her illustrations you know um then we have art and Whimsy which is a 3D fidget artist see Taylor she sometimes is at our mashby Farmers Market she is yep we have Cape Cod roller derby which is a roller derby here on Cape Cod that want a roller skating rank if you've got a place let us know we need a spot for these folks to be practicing their sport um really cool I'm a big fan of all the niche ones that come through that it's like I mean that's a business but like how come we don't see more of those pop up uh cranberry country Driving School a driving school for our teenagers well uh let me tell you as someone that just forked over a ton of money for a a daughter who's not driving um I hope this one I hope this one's a little different well she even said she's like they don't have drivers because I'm neuro diverent and I don't learn that way and there's one driver that I like and I can't get an appointment with him and I was like okay good to know yeah it might be something that should be on a form to talk to somebody before you just like lump them all in with the group driving lesson all right so Vicky if you're listening here's a tip and uh if you're not listening I'm going to te I'll share that tip Cody will have his mark my word Cody will have his license before she is and uh if you get this up and running let us know because we start lessons uh November 20th the minute the boy can go oh my gosh he's on a mission he's on a Time clock because when she is scheduled to come home from college is when he is scheduled to get his license so I was like good at so the race is on at least one of you can drive right because I can't do another summer I'm done with it like this last one where I had to drive her to the melody tent three days a week right back and forth and I'm living in you know four 40 minutes away yeah no thank you love that no thank you we have dog anchor which is a beach accessory for your dog okay we'll be learning more about that one um green Choice upholstery she uh really another really cool human being okay um she used to work in costuming for like fun like out in La um I might be paraphrasing and I'm sorry if I'm doing you WR these are new businesses right we'll get to know you'll get to know them way more and so her big thing is when she's coming in and helping you design your piece of furniture do you want the foam that we can buy at Jo-Ann's that's going to last you three to five years or do you want this more sustainable foam that's going to last you 15 years you know it's going to cost you little bit in the beginning but it's going to far outli and it's more sustainable yeah so cool thing there um learn to move uh is a fitness facility okay um Monument concierge super cool concept uh basically it's uh everything you could need in Ptown and these guys will find it for you I love that yep um my go-to bars another which I had for dinner last night cuz I was so exhausted I was not going to cook thank you thank you Lisa thank you for fueling her it was delicious um we have prism Pro Painting which is a painter who wants to go out on his own which is cool we love that um the cookie Caper who I just went and bought back to school cookies from at River cies are almost too pretty to eat oh they're so pretty it's like a artwork on a cookie and I like every single time I'm like oh I know I'm oh too cute to eat yeah her artwork is amazing what's up Thomas hey Sam thanks for joining us somebody did ask in the interview process um how she felt about uh like stepping aside and letting other people do the baking and stuff and she was like like but that's my artwork that's my piece of art so I totally feel her on that yeah um but as she expands time will tell um The Salty brunette she has trademarked the number two and the letter l e e okay she's trademarked a number and a letter okay so that at the end of it it has the cape hook oh cute yeah so it says local so it is the L so it says local yeah or she does a zip codes because we all have a two in our ZIP code um so it has the cape hook on the end really cute I love that um and then we have the Thrifty Nook which is uh a couple who is inspiring to create their own thrift store uh uh we all need more of those yep yep we love our thrifting then we have Tula plus up in East Ham doing yoga and then the last one we have is a nonprofit called Upstream Aquatics they also did the pitch contest that you were at yes um they are looking again if you've got space in the mid to lower Cape they are looking for a spot to put a pool okay we say yes to that yeah 100% we say yes to that well and I can speak to this firsthand as my son is a Red Cross certified yes lifeguard we had to go to a pool and Pucket for him to take his lifeguard certification that's ridiculous right that's ridiculous we live on Cap Cod yet we have one pool at the YMCA we're so blessed to be like surrounded by all these ponds and oceans but like our ponds are like eh our oceans have sharks right where are the pools we need some pools we really do yep so that is I think says Memorial Day weekend like go to a pool and Puck it that was my son that sounds fun absolutely and then couldn't work for the town anyway because he wasn't old enough so they were like come back well we were short seven lifeguards this year in mashby a little bit scary um so he they were like basically you're hired for next year and he did some private gigs this year for kids and pools and other things like that and uh he was he had his Huston because he was parking not parking cars but pointing where to park your car yesterday in the soaking rain at the brewery because they had such an influx of people that he was basically like you can't park here I got to park over here I picked him up he was so get wet oh my gosh he's like this is not what I signed up for I just want to be a lifeguard but he was well good good and he made some good money but he that these kids they've got some hustle I'm excited for it absolutely and I'm excited for these new baby businesses yeah yeah and I'm excited too um so when I left eforall I told Kai in my exit interview that the one thing missing was like an RA right like if there was like a resident alum in the room with you that you could like lean on because some people get in alum for their Mentor but not everybody does right and so I created this position called the peer support specialist and so I'm super excited to invite kayn or of Misfits yay she is going to be our peer support this year she's such a hype person if you've not come into contact with kayn she is high energy we've had her on our show before yes and um she's really motivating she runs her brand new gym Misfits yep in Yarmouth if you want to try out a class she's so good she's so good with accommodating injuries and like sore spots yeah so you know she's not going to be like oh go and do 10 reps she's gonna say all right first we're going to do a body assessment and we're gonna see what feels right what doesn't feel right but it's not just like that in the fitness realm she's like that in the human realm oh yeah so I think she's a good fit for this e for all group yes good morning Miss Cindy she said I woke up at 5:00 I stayed awake till 6:50 and somehow fell back asleep and just woke up now than she eforall Lady it's the E forall lady there you go that's a new name for you I like that that can be the E forall lady yeah so we just talked about all the new baby businesses or businesses that you've heard that just haven't gotten that next step that next push y uh that are starting to learn how to do exactly that come tomorrow is uh Mentor match Mentor matching orientation so stressful yep so everybody gets to meet each other virtually tomorrow and then a week from no no then we do Mentor matching then so in two weeks they will meet each other in person yeah so and I think it's important to mention the fact that the mentors are not working for the let them know Stephanie you tell these entrepreneurs they need to know this they do not work for you entrepreneurs they were working with you to assist you this is your job exactly exactly these are the people you're like I can't figure out this or does this sound okay to you or how do I do this maybe you know somebody like where how we learned about legal last night and now I have all these questions right yeah yeah and those are a lot of parts of businesses that people still don't know right and I think it's funny that Cliff who never did e forall but he did e forall in the background of me doing e for all yeah is now like the people are like Cliff how do I do the this and he's like you do this this this this this it let me tell you what I learned when Stephanie went through right but now he's doing e forever which is a new program that um it's a different kind of e forever this year but he really loves this business group because they're all like three to fivey Old businesses that are having their new challenges right right and so they lean on each other to decide where the room is going and what we need to focus on as small business owners what do we do now with this yes so that's a really cool program the chamber is involved in that one I know Rockland Trust is involved in that one and um it's just we've got some really cool help out there on the C between eall between score between we can y there are lots of programs for you to reach out to and ask to better your business and I think a lot of people work on their businesses in the fall yes because it's a good time to assess okay we live through the season yep now we got to clean out the closets not everybody has a Caren nope oh those finances I've neglected all year yeah we're coming up on taxis I have so many reports I have to do I have so much in office stuff and I wasn't going to work today and I was going to fully take the whole day off yeah but I'm like no I've gota I've got to get in the office and do the stuff that I I have to do in the background right I know I'm I mean you you're first year nonprofit too right so this is all gonna be new yes yeah let's check I have so much free time what's up Seth hey Trish thanks for joining us on the show Seth runs elastic Glam which is our glamrock show here on lemono also on KKL he does a really good job so much passion we had Michael Michael did his first all by myself shift on Lemon Ado on Sunday no help no prompting Hank was so excited I listened in for a bit Michael you sounded fabulous I was so excited way go I know now we can move on to the next person that wants to do a show on Lemon Ado cool it's like okay baby bird you're out the dust fly let us know when you need help but also but I've got another one work on it right next cool I know so that was that was an exciting moment this weekend especially to have it on Labor Day weekend and I'm like I'm just so overwhelmed and then I was like oh my God they did it all by themselves yay yay was one thing to take off the list I know I've seen so many moms and dads and parents and grandparents moving their their baby birds out of the Nest this weekend I know I didn't cry wow good for you I I did like the video where she was like Mom stop get lost she's like Space Bound she yelled out boundaries about 17 times yeah yep that's perfect I like I'm trying to make a real so that I can see it when you graduate that I could show you later you'll be happy I did this when you're older which she does and she loves going through all the dumb videos and pictures that I have when she's now she's at this phase where it's like leave me alone let me live oh get out of my face so hard and she literally kicked us off campus on Saturday I have a friend who um she gave me this tip once and I still use it to this day when my teenager and my now pre- teenager uh won't do a picture for me yeah you talk baby talk to them you say oh you want to take a little picture you want take a little picture and then they smile oh my God you're so ridiculous and then you get the good smile it works every time sometimes you go be and you get a little smile not from Cody what what do you need all right go bother dad all right well knock on the door and remind him I'm working ask Karen to take my car if she's feeling comfortable she can take my car it's a mess but hey Mom wagon what are you gonna do this show stops now I need a ride get lost tell your coach I know seriously travar what come on these kids need a break Mama's working oh well he got his new new pads he's very excited well you know he's got to be very protective this year and um he couldn't practice on Friday because one of his pads broke so he was like that's it whatever came home and then I get a call from the coach um where's Cody nobody called me and I'm like did you not even go you just decided not to go oh my gosh where is this coach let this be a lesson to you while he got dropped back off at the school to support the team because that's what you do when you physically can't be there or you have an injury true that's true part of the team and then it was like this learning moment where he was like oh I don't know why I didn't even think of that I just like went home cuz he was sad he wanted to play I know end up being there his new pads came over the weekend he's ready to go get back in the game kid get back get back in there God Almighty it sounds like Dad's on top of things good uh Emily you'll see our faces tomorrow enjoy a couple of hours of free time we need to put your office back together because now it's moved upstairs and I can't even walk in that room right now well you got Karen here maybe she'll help you I don't know how long she's gonna run screaming she's gonna swim back to the vineyard before I that's bad never coming back ever how is everybody adjusting to their fall schedule have you made some changes going on have have you you know know people that live in your home anymore uh I pulled out my Ugg slippers yesterday I was like oh it is time even though yesterday was to still muggy yeah I was like why is it so humid it's gross out still today's a little bit better so cross well this is the psych summer you know like those those memes people post of where we are fall it is it is so so then we're we're in second summer Y and then we already had that false fall last week right and then hopefully we can just go to like fall fall yeah but there was a some there was like a a indigenous people's weekend where we were swimming in the ocean because it was 80 so yes exactly you just never can tell we do not know we we don't know we made the decision yesterday uh for the Cape Cod Christmas Market that we're not doing tents we're not doing heaters we're just going to go with Mother Nature yeah and if Mother Nature says that that's the way it is we are just gon to embrace the season so bundle up I like that I like that because I was like really concerned about it then I was like how much money am I going to spend for the nonprofit I really wanted to do x with it so now I'm going to buy tent and now I've got to store tents and now I've got to get people to build tents and it was just it was too great I mean vendors bring their own tents right well we also have a mentor friend okay that has been through absolutely everything so cliff had a 20-minute conversation with him yesterday and he's like no he's like listen over the course of a decade I've spent $60,000 on X Y and Z learn from my mistakes don't do X Y and Z nice okay good like that right it was really nice to have a conversation with someone that's like been there done that wrote the postcard don't done right right and this is why and this is what you should focus on and now remind me your Christmas Market is it a one day is it a two day so it's four it's four Sundays four Sundays that's what it is so yeah it's the 24th of November so since Thanksgiving is so late we've got one before we've got one after and then two more for the holiday season that your Crafters like an opportunity to make like a Hostess gift and we have a little break in between the mashby farmers market and when that happens so we'll have like a four-week turnaround where people can like recharge restock and by people we mean you also but also some of our vendors can restock flip their season work on some of their new stuff holiday stuff and we've got over 50 people already paid signed up going I know so we've got some really cool new stuff too very cool and some nice seasonal stuff and these are really locals I I'm not seeing a ton of people from far far and wide and so opposed to last year's trial is it going to be at the Knuck about beer garden again it is going to be at the Knuck about beer garden but it's gonna be up where we've had the Cape Cod Christmas Market and we're working on utilizing some of the trees and we're working on getting like scoped up bathrooms oh fancier nicer bathroom guys we got to splurge somewhere and that's really where I'd like to to do that as the foodie are we do we have some food vendors so many oh yes I know I know some some new stuff too and I'm like so thrilled about it yeah did you hear that Tanya there will be food oh so much food good it's all actually all about food good perfect Count Me In and some like fun roasted nuts and some fun ornament makers and some fun other cool stuff like I really really we went to eight different countries uh this summer and went to all of their markets all there farmers markets all of there talk about inspiration chachki markets and just really was like okay that's really cool we can definitely do this I don't see other people doing this let's get some of this stuff cool and I've already reached out to our former German opair and I was like I need your origami we have these ornaments that when she lived with us a decade ago yeah that are still alive and still go on our Christmas tree every single year because they are made so well and they look like ever lasting Gob Stoppers but they're like snowflakes that's so cool so is she make and they're like indestructible I was like I need a million yeah can you make me 11,000 I will take them all and she's like I'm GNA get to work on it is she she's that's so cool she going to make us so those be like the limited edition like I'm not selling those those are just decor oh perfect those are just decorations I was like if they lived in this household for a full decade yeah and we're not destroyed yeah they have not been destroyed by cat dog children ex people work a like we can do this junior hello to our friends over at captains JR says still working and just making pumpkin mudslides good morning all right talk to me a little bit more about msids I feel like I'm almost ready to embrace the season not quite there yet but at least with the kids in schol you know what's a good transition I like to do brown sugar cinnamon so it's not like totally like pumpkin spice but it gives you that little warm hug okay yeah that's my I might be able to transition yeah I need to not go right into that we can turn me down because I don't live in Brewster weird really try again try again because they're now located in hyenas yeah definitely and I think that they're doing a lot of programming out of their hyenas office and go ask for sunny she'll she'll put you in the right place she's new there she's a phenomenal human being yeah I ran into her because in all of my free time after I dropped my child off at Sal State I had to pick up my son from the amplify POC Festival which happened on Saturday because he was what was he doing there he was working for Nina perfect she needed some muscles awesome this boy is a hustler he is he likes money and he likes to buy new things that is you know that goes with the age so instead of bothering us because he knows we won't just give it to him yep he works for it good I know good so he had a really good day um have some of that along to my daughter sorry he was so fun he was like I think she paid me too much money mom I was like we never say that you never say that you say thank you exactly say thank you and you walk away exactly but he got excited because he got to have Junior bets uh barbecue oo yeah and he's like Mom the Maca Cheese was so good like the bull pork he was so happy honestly they catered one of our events at Smith family popcorn and man yeah good stuff yeah good stuff yum oh now I want now I want mac and cheese and barbecue Karen we don't want pancakes the pancakes go macaroni cheese and and barbecue good morning Erin thanks for joining us Erin's also one of our vendors she makes the most gorgeous crochet hand knit scarves hats blankets all kinds of stuff and does it with like a seasonal flare so she's got these like fun leather patches and like some other cute stuff that she interweaves in there and definitely makes that her own and um she's trying to make a go of it leaving her ninet to-5 and doing this full-time well you know there is an organization called eforall right we uh our spring application is live on efor all.org so you can apply to be part of the spring cohort get there signed up good morning Miss T this is a situation that I definitely want to talk about and I've been saving to talk about um as we're closing up the season the melody tent yeah let's talk about it so my daughter worked at the melody tent All Summer Long yep and absolutely loved it loved the staff there and she worked in concessions um shout out to T and John you do an amazing job your team is phenomenal you treat them so well you're so respectful to them you you make them good money and in turn they give you good work it's how it should go absolutely question though yeah did she get to meet anybody awesome no I don't think so oh man okay they don't they don't intermingle with like the tent with the tent stuff or you know what I mean like they do separate yeah they're very separate they do their job they do it well yeah um and to speak of that separation there is a separation of of church and state over there if you will with how the melody tent runs okay um and there was a situation over the weekend where it was a huge show it was a big show it was a big party crowd a big fun crowd yeah and um the the owner the the general manager because it is a nonprofit right decided to just cut concessions Midway through the show like that's it you're you're closed you can't do your business anymore I've decided you're done and there were people that paid an up charge to have a fast pass to better service line right and they were outraged and would absolutely be outraged if I spent a ton more money and I couldn't get any food or bever the crowd was getting too rowdy was the situation no it was it was almost as if the the manager and this is not the first time or the first incident where this has happened yeah where they have just decided to close ouch right just decided we're going to close this I don't want to deal with it it's not about food or beverage it's about the artist I don't care about your business wow and I find that really difficult so how do you do your job the best to your ability and then get cut off at the knees when you have people waiting for tips expecting a certain amount of money wow expecting a certain amount of sales to get bonuses on yeah to be able to get the things to show I did my job not only did I do my job I exceeded at my job and you're caught off at the knees because you know the tail of the ticker and you're you're not allowing them to do their job yeah it's kind of gross that's that makes me feel real icky I know I know uh she said doors opened at 7 closed concessions at 8 whoa the show went until 1010 whoa and this is the CEO wow so you got people there not being able to have food or drink for for two hours two and a half hours wow is there a bubbler that's scummy it it is slimy yeah and it is slimy especially since they're like end of the season about to make their goals right right not today or not right not today and I even heard like honestly he was like like laughing about it like it's like a joke to him people's livelihoods because he's got his money he's fine he doesn't rely on the concession right his his job is to get butts and seats he doesn't care about that and it's insane to me that the support staff and the group of people that works so freaking hard to make everybody have a good time to be like this was like the full experience it's like going to a restaurant making a reservation going there and being like hurry up and eat your bread because you don't get a dinner right we're not serving you because right I hope you enjoyed that bread I I hope you enjoyed your seat we just needed to make that reservation we just needed to say we were full tonight right now please leave right or enjoy no don't leave enjoy the atmosphere but don't accept you want concessions right enjoy that it's weird not even like water not even like we're cutting off alcohol it's only non-alcoholic and food right nothing no you were like shut it down you're done you're done your clo water for you 700 p.m. 8:00 p.m. shut off people were there until 10: wow I can't imagine a Melody tent full of people without food and drink for 2 hours I just can't imagine what that look like No And then being staff that is probably being berid Yeah by hundreds of angry patrons and then like can the concessions people leave early or did they have to stay until the end of the show I'm curious did you have to stay I'm sure you had to stay right oh and Endo to be beat up for it no thank you and we're not talking about physically I don't think anybody was physically assaulted but also like good morning James happy Labor Day to you we're laboring but not not much it's just a little a little bit of Labor yeah maybe a little computer work later yeah I mean we've all got to get it done whatever it is I hope you're enjoying a full day off everybody out there yes but I definitely wanted to talk about this melody tent situation because I think it is just unfortunate to end the season this way yeah yeah that's that's a that's a big bummer I know so I I don't know how people can change this but I would defin write to some Melody T um individuals T maybe you can help us find somebody that we can at least voice our concerns to I'm sure there are hundreds of people that were at that show over the weekend that have something to say absolutely especially if they paid an upcharge to get better service when there was no service it's like getting an upgrade on a plane I can't imagine that and still getting coach right right we're gonna upgrade you to first class but we're gonna have first class is coach yeah we're not going to give you anything extra there you go and your seat is the same size you're on a Southwest flight bye speaking of which you're about to be on a flight I am I'm leaving Wednesday afternoon another trip to Disney can you please talk to me about this Disney thing uh it's curing my childhood trauma okay I feel like we all need to do that yep it is uh 100% just it it helps it helps um I turned 40 this year and I decided um so we started the year in January we went to Disneyland yeah in California and my poor son on the flight there like totally zonked out I was like oh this poor kid is so tired like you know the excitement whatever anyway fast forward he doesn't spend a whole lot of time in the park we get home I take him to urgent care he's got the flu Oh no so poor dude had the flu when we were in Disneyland didn't get to enjoy it my husband and I took a trip to Disney World in February for my birthday and um I decided that this was going to be my year of trips Y and so I got myself an annual pass and I took my youngest for her birthday I went down by myself on my first solo Adventure it was has anybody ever gone to Disney by themselves I think that that's kind of cool it was a it was a ton of fun um best part obviously was a hotel room to myself yeah but uh they were doing a special preview of the Tiana overlay of Splash Mountain so I got to go and ride that and that I haven't gotten to see that yet it's really cute and then I'm taking my oldest she said it's my last childhood birthday she's turning 17 and so she said we should go mom and daughter and so I mean how do you say no to that right exactly when they want to spend time with you at that age you like what what do I buy you the Moon she's exactly so she's going to school for two days and then she's missing three days of school and I don't care yeah sorry keep cut if you're watching I mean get over it she taking three days you have 200 students of get over it they're all going to be that way there's 180 days she's gonna miss three it'll be fine that's awesome yeah and then I have another one in November get it all in so this is your year of trips yep and then my son's birthday's in January so I'll take him for a solo Adventure in January and then that'll conclude your your pass for the year or you think probably sneak like a mom's trip or something in she if you're watching I think I need just like a mom STP maybe I'll go with rose just saying just throwing it out there um got to make the most of this pass they say that if you go for 11 days it's worth the pass and I think I've surpassed that okay she's made it she's made it worth it yeah I appreciate that yeah yeah there's something in me that's like if I'm going to buy this I'm going to use it like oh there it's your mother hanging out and I'm like no it's not I want the value it's the Disney bubble that that gets me is that like I don't think about anything when I'm there I'm just submer like it sounds so corny but you're just submerged submerged in the magic yeah good Emily is planning her first trip so Emily oh we'll chat this is the girl you want to pick her brain with yeah Michael how are you I saw Vanna's new t-shirts Vanna pachella an amazing artist that we absolutely what oh the Disney in Mexico what is with you in top optional Resorts I I love it for you she's going to in ctional it took me a minute to get can you imagine a Disney in Mexico that's the top optional no no Mickey pasties I'm hey hey that's a good time there's a Disney for everyone there is a Disney for everyone there you go there you have it um large please I would like a large t-shirt thank you very much Michael I appreciate that get that merch that's it I know and I'll venmo you I promise I will do it um so car seat tips for back to school fall change of the seasons I know people that are Switching gears maybe go to kindergarten for the first time maybe go to a different age bracket yeah so my first tip we're gonna we're gonna go backwards as far as age goes um boosters are for big kids we do not need to be in a hurry to get out of a booster the reason that we use booster seats is that it lifts them up so that the seat belt positions across the nice heavy part of their hip bones and across their shoulder um not up on their neck not down on their shoulder but right across that shoulder um so keeping your kids in boosters until that belt fit is appropriate without the booster um my son who's a giant was in a booster until he was nine um very common to see 10 11 year olds still needing a booster not wanting but needing that booster um especially these little petite kids and really it's all about safety um it's it comes down to um their their hard mature bones which is what the biggest thing of car seat safety is is that you know children are not miniature adults they have small immature bones um so that is my tip for our middle elementary kids is keep them in boosters as long as you can um until that belt fits correctly um and then my advice for our little elementary school kids is again we don't have to rush to get into a booster you can parent wants I know I understand how exciting it was to just get rid of that thing and go with something bigger just Buckle it and be done yeah and I know it's so stressful nothing like trying to Buckle in a child a squirmy wormy child that just not fit right but yep and do it the the best advice that if you are a parent drop off make sure that that car seat whether they're in a fivepoint harness or a booster seat is on the drop off side so I know like for us quashnet the drop off side is the passenger side and for Casey the drop off side is the driver's side so making sure yeah right so making sure that you know your child's drop off plan if you can situate their car seat on that side that eliminates them having to walk around cars love that and that is a really good tip yeah and then big piece of advice is those big yellow school buses that you see traveling when their lights are flashing you are stopping that is that is we are not passing buses we are not honking at buses to hurry up and move we again let's have some patience people um yellow bus gets the right of way and it's pathetic that you have to say this but you do yeah because we have situations there is one woman in fet there's a specific situation where every every single day she videotapes people blowing by her children's buses and I do not's woman in Mash as well do not understand how this continuously happens and ridiculous someone's not going to jail right or getting a ticket or being sanctioned I know something shame them online show us their license PL this is what we do now we shame you shame how dare you also Ricky wants to know the location of that Mexican Disney so Cindy help him out you to talk amongst yourself Talk Amongst yourselves get that vacation trip what's up John I was just commending you guys and all of your hard work over at the melody tent this season I'm sad that you missed it but we did have a good conversation and at T dropped office atth music circus. org if you would like to voice your concern comments questions uh and outrage to them as to why we needed to close concessions one hour after spending a ton of money to watch a show when you can't even get a bottle water is absurd to me yeah shame shame we will shame them as well what we're doing shame shame what' you do on Labor Day sham people online absolutely this is what we did this morning we're here working you are too welcome to shame in the morning I mean Stephanie in the morning hi God so we talked about our eall we're really excited for our new cohort we talked about some of our car seat Mama tips you got any more that people should be aware of as we're starting this new school year and just the reminder of where to position your car seats don't rush that booster seat and don't blow by freaking buses right still talking about it I will say make sure when you're purchasing your car seats that you're purchasing them from reputable retailers um I saw a counterfeit car seat the other day at the doctor's office my daughter would not let me I said MADD that's a car seat that that car seat is counterfeit that's a fake car seat and she said sit down and I was like okay like really yeah it's hard like and this is something that I need to talk to my more season text about I mean I'm seven years in but I still I can't go up to ah I I have to I have to be able to go up to somebody and say hey that car seat is not a real car seat so what happens is you go on Amazon and you type in car seat stroller and they there are car seats but they're not made by actual manufacturers they're Chinese made insane and they only have the three-point harness so that's one thing to look for in America all of our car seats have to have a five-point harness that's the chess clip so if your car seat does not have a chess clip you have a counterfeit car seat or you have a European car seat and European car seats should not be used in America um unless you are here for vacation um so making sure that when you're buying on Amazon it justs it says shipped and sold by Amazon um you don't want to buy from ABC baby core or you know uh baby gear 105 you want to make sure that you're buying directly from Amazon these are good tips I never know what I'm buying half the time I buy doll furniture when I think it's humaniz Furniture so absolutely I would be duped I would be the one that' be like oh I didn't read the specs yeah what's up Michelle hey Karen is that Karen Karen different no I had no idea that you could get counterfeit stuff like that so I shouldn't be surprised but yet I am yeah and so I got a grant this year for car seats so that you know I do have car seats available if anybody runs into counterfeit car seats um I do have car seats available so that that parent you know if you if you see someone that has a car seat without that chess clip you know you can let I know they're not cheap they're anywhere between $150 and $300 could be $600 I mean it's there's a car seat currently on the market for $999 that's absurd to me yeah it is made by a AO engineer and claims that it is the safe F car seat out there even though you can't you can't right exactly you can't put your kid in a bubble like that's literally a bubble it's duct tape and bubble wrap you're good good luck K good to go yeah I can't imag so I understand like the cost of that for some families is astronomical but you can talk to fire departments you can reach out to Jen you can talk to so many people there are resources out there for you and that's that's good I love questions questions are my favorite so car seat Mama on Facebook um m m ma a shoot me any question you have if you're getting ready to purchase your next seat and you want to know which ones to go for which ones to avoid um as a technician I do not have a favorite seat but I do have preferred installs okay um so I can point you in some directions um you know and I I have favorite seats in every economic uh uh uh level so yeah you don't you do not have to spend $350 on a safe car seat um the seat that we use for all of our travel with my five-year-old is a $60 car seat and I love it okay perfect love it and that is good to know uh says the professional Emily says okay on the day I don't come there's pancakes I see how it is sorry mem sorry Emily that's it $900 no yeah no no yeah want to get my hands on it just to play with it but I'm not willing to spend $900 not market research that's necessary absolutely not no I'm not buying tents and you're not buying $900 car seats morning do I do want to shout out um I just got an email I believe it was Friday from the United Way I got a grant oh that's exciting yeah yeah to put on a safety Day event so I'm thinking of setting up um when is your your family your family your kids day I know I've got another one coming up uh I think two weeks 22nd yeah so National car seat Saturday is the 21st so maybe I will do it on the 22nd at the farmers market look at us please come on down if you want to come and bring your seat to have it looked at yeah I would love that fresh I'm GNA watch it tonight we're actually um going to be interviewing a couple of the actors from the play tomorrow on the show so you want to check in with Hank and I will be able to uh talk to a couple of their actors I'm not sure who we're gonna get tomorrow and who's like get the bandwidth for us but we will have a couple of opportunities this week to give out some tickets so we'll do so I know we're gonna do so tomorrow on the show um and then we're going to do so throughout some of our trivas this week we're back at the high a yat club this week so shout out to all of our yachties our first round of winners has been like waiting patiently for their next opponents yay exciting they're trash talking already so we've got four teams coming in from Everly and they we did like a little mock Family Feud with them at our show this past Friday and they loved it oh love it so now theyve formulated a few different teams in that group and they're like coming for us so all right all right if you've got a family feud and it does not have to be your family you're chosen fam five six people if you've only got four we'll find somebody else to slap into your team and meet a new new team member to help you with it I have said I want to get an e forall team together so my eforall peeps let's get I just need four of you to say yeah I'll do that yeah yes unfortunately we lost our our ability to get together we were supposed to have this fun like dance and get together yeah and we had to cancel it because our venue wasn't ready yet it happens yeah I will tell you I was there when we went to look at the venue and it was just it was sad and you could just like you could feel the morale go down as they were explaining the options to us and it was like that doesn't work for us it's not what we Vision it does look great it does look like it it really has made some big changes but uh and maybe next summer we have our meet me in margaretville yep so I know I saw I we were at a parenthe head party in inadvertently yesterday for about half an hour yeah and everyone had Parents on their head and I felt like I was just so out of place I'm like what I'm so confused what is happening right especially since the staff was dressed for Octoberfest so it was leader hosen and parrot yes on their head I was like well this is if random people are visiting right now yep welcome
