saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book I really sto CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual I just had a visual proud of it good morning we have Vanna pachella on the show with us this morning thank you so much for coming in I I know it's not your time of day no it's not I think when I booked this I I texted you and I was just like you are the only person I will wake up at 6:45 for I feel so special I really do it's an honor to be here I watch this anytime I wake up early enough to watch it but you can also watch us any time of day make sure you like and sub subscribe our YouTube channel and then you'll never miss a moment of the show and it'll just be dropped right into your inbox so that you can see lovely human beings like the one and only miss Vanna pachella uh who I met you were doing a singing competition you had thrown yourself out there I think it was at the music room at the time and it was uh it was people of all ages all abilities you had people from Berkeley you had people that were touring musicians you had people that had made albums already already how old were you I was 15 yeah and I had started singing like two months prior too so it's incredible to me that you are 15 years old and you held your own on that stage thank you thank you so much Vanna on keys if you've not seen her around town you had like one summer of fullon gigging oh yeah oh multiple no last summer I played five nights a week every week all summer so not doing that this summer I learned my lesson but it was fun and it was great for character building and getting experience so good morning Miss Ashley thanks for joining us on the show we've got Vanna pachella here with us and uh yeah doing all these gigs yeah get closer to the microphone rtb said let's go Holly's out there watching I love that you made your mom you're like Get Away out of the studio oh yeah she's in the car right now I was explaining to you before we got on um I'm like this about any phone calls any meetings I got on a meeting the other night I was in the middle of a rehearsal with Tom and um my guitar player and I was just like get out get out you're not welcome here this is work time I can't I can't mix them unfortunately well you have this interesting space right your parents are your Ries your tour managers your people that make sure that you arrive at everything your support system your cheerleaders your are makeup fixers your food make ERS I do the makeup actually that's the one thing but also they let you run the show they let you run your business they let you make your music I wouldn't be able to do anything I do without them does it get crazy a little bit though like I love the fact that you're no you go over here because I need this time for me which you have to be I feel like also big birthday coming up oh yeah big birthday 18 years old so like now you're officially an adult to be able to say that right not yet almost where how do you I hope people still think I'm exciting but how do you isn't that funny though do you worry about that a little bit but not really I've always I've always hid my like age if I can because I don't want people to think oh she's great for a 17-year-old oh she's great for a kid you know like I qu an adult so this is really just like finally being perceived the way I want to be so no I'm not I'm just being dramatic well you're a musician that goes along with the territory yeah for sure I loved how when you said you were in here this morning and you know it's morning voice it's kind of clearing everything out but she's like when I cry because I'm very emotional and I was like uh me too I cry at Disney movies I cry at the dumbest thing somebody said something cute and I'll just start crying I like tear up I'm like why am I crying I don't even know I do that too it's yeah Gina says Holly makes the best cookies LOL good morning ladies bod Corona another one of our fabulous musician friends is on the oh yeah on the live hi and uh we have a lot of support rolling in right now for you other musicians that are like why she up so early I'll go oh it was a struggle it was really hard talk about that home life a little bit talk about how you're balancing your your schoolwork your growing as a musician your functionality because you haven't been in regular matriculating school right um not for a while I went up until seventh grade okay and then I started homeschooling um so yeah I do all of my work remotely um I have just a computer with all my work for the week and I can do it at any time that I want to so most of the time it's like Monday and I get everything done in three hours and I then I can spend my whole week focusing on music yeah and right now uh we are recording so we built a studio in my basement and we were recording our album there and we had a studio date booked but the quality of the demo we made in our basement was just like insane so we're like okay guess we're doing this at home now there's something to be said for a little home studio I'll tell you what we've had um three or four almost four complete audio books that have been created here in this little home studio of ours and the sound quality is pretty Immaculate it's you can make some good sound in tiny spaces so much more feeling in it in my opinion if we if we did end up going to a studio well I would be out a lot of money because I'm a major perfectionist so if you ask Tom or Nick what it's like recording with me it's probably not the most fun thing they're like okay I justlike this a lot uh Ashley said hey Vanna don't rush to be an adult stay young as long as you can oh thank you how often do you get told that not often actually I think because I am so mature and I act so like adultlike already that people don't really have that to say to me but that is very important and I really appreciate that so thank you seriously Ryan says good morning to you Lindsay I never cry LOL Jes oh she's our big crier so you're balancing all of these things what is it like right now about to be 18 years old and you've got a single that's coming out at midnight oh yeah I'm so excited for the song is this the first one that you started working on no so this is the one that just came together best yeah so so dark side was the first one yeah and we put that out a couple months ago um this one's called wolf this is arguably my favorite original so it's it's crazy I don't want to give too much away but it's very it's a journey listening to this song it's kind of crazy will you talk to us a little bit about your process and and the creation space who are your influences oh who are my influences um my number one influence is Mac Miller really people well because he's a Lyricist right he writes feelings for sure um and I mean even his wrot his musicality um is just insane and the way the way the music correlates with his lyrics is always just like how did a person do that yeah right um but yeah they're putting out album Still and they just put out another album of his that was isn't that weird to make music after you're dead it's just bizarre to me is it stuff that theyve found that he just never allowed out yeah so so this album was called balloonism and it was a completed album that got lost and they were he was working on other projects and they decided that they weren't going to put it out and now obviously after he passed away they put the project out and it had been like leaked on like SoundCloud or whatnot but I had never heard before and there's so many mixed feelings about this album but I it's like my favorite ma album I am like he's my favorite artist so that's like a huge thing to say but this music totally resonate with which it's really cool because as you should it's it's younger it's it's speaking from the things that you're going through yeah it was one of his younger albums it was right in the beginning of his career um but it's also had those kind of like jazz influences Thundercat on base like all of what he was putting out towards the end of his life and it was just like an experimental unfortunate because it was really really good stuff know that tiny desk is one of my absolute favorites I can't tell you how many times I've watched that it there's something about it if you've never seen the Mac Miller tiny desk 100% go watch it because like you I was like crying like you just it's so many things I have like I've if you're on my close friend story on Instagram I keep it like professional on my on my regular one my close friend story is All Mac Miller memes literally it's all Mac Miller memes I put one on it was just like an old guy sitting with like a record and it was just a picture of of the tiny desk concert I love it it's it's really it's it's a good one uh good morning Joselyn James Roberts thanks for joining us we've got Vanna pachella here she's got a big birthday party coming up and in true Vana fashion you're giving back putting on a show and enjoying yourself for the night yeah right yeah absolutely I'm so excited um I'm gonna be playing with my band as well as the zjack brothers tribute to the last B they're so good I got to talk to Matt Z Jack for they're amazing they're such good people too honestly such amazing humans if you ever want to listen back to our lemonade interview and I love their Tunes I I very much enjoy them um they've played here on the C before uh they're they're from the Boston area and uh I love I was talking to Mt about how they record in their process where somebody's in New Hampshire and they lay down something and then they'll pick it up somewhere else it's wonderful that we're able to communicate and make music wherever we are yeah with whomever we want to that is uh I know there's a Vibe you get when you're in the studio though oh yeah it's addicting yeah it's part of the reason why I just like spent way too much money upgrading my studio and um my dad got all this energy and was just like I'm going to like remodel the studio and so one day I came I'm not gonna stop you yeah no one day I came downstairs Everything Has Changed we're in a completely separate room just like completely remodeled beautiful everything is like spotless and my order from Sweet Water came shout out to you Dad that was pretty he's amazing yeah he's like your sound Guru oh he's crazy I literally don't understand he he'll do things like this all the time and I'll just come down I'll be like I didn't know we had like a horse farm like what like every day it's just like the most random amazing things I'm like you realize like humans don't do this Michael does it yeah he Magics things up for his girls he does on you and Holly so so much and do anything for you it's pretty amazing uh Demetrius thanks for joining us you were over at The Listening Room for a little stint and we loved it and I love that concept oh the concept of coming together with another artist collaborating doing one thing you're separate them doing something and then just making some music together which the concept was fabulous and I would love to see you continue that for sure um you are a collaborator yeah for sure not everybody can work with other people like that thank you yeah I mean it can be hard at times but I love like embracing what other people bring to the table yeah it's important um how did you get this new group of band how did this happen for you oh my my band um so I I have a story about how I how I started playing with the trio because when I when I thought of playing with a band I never thought I was gonna be playing with a trio so basically what happened was I was talking with musicians I had like an idea of who I was going to play with and I went to the music for a jam night and the owner came to me and was like bana I need you to put together a band for Saturday night and this was Wednesday night and I was like sure okay I can totally do that I had no literally I had nothing planned hear me and I'm like I got that what paper clips and tape we got it and by the night I had a rehearsal I had a trio I was like oh no AC I have so much to do I'm like like so much melodic structure that I have to you know be in charge of but it worked and I was like oh I love this So eventually I started playing with Tom um and then Nick came to the jam when we were hosting the jam and we were just like he's awesome we were playing with like eight drummers at the time and so every gig I had I had a list it was just Dr Guy drummer list and it was just like who's available drummers are the least available people on this Earth so I would just in case you're wondering oh yeah I would have to reach out to all eight of them for every gig and then Nick came and I was just like you're amazing can I steal you and the answer was yes and I'm so happy because he's amazing and we wouldn't have ever been able to start the recording process if it weren't for him because well yeah having solid somebody having somebody come and be regular I know that that is a difficulty being a musician because to be a working musician on Cape good luck to you it is so difficult to pay your bills show up on time work a full-time day job if you have a life and a wife and a kid and a thing I mean it's pretty incredible that you're able to create in the space that you're in right now with what you've got and the support system that you have so that's awesome Haley Michael thanks for joining us on the show Rick how are you thanks for joining us today Vanna is here talking a little bit about her big show that's coming up at the kuna asset yes I got Wicked sidetracked no that's okay we always come back we'll always come back okay um but yeah we were talking about the Z Jack Brothers yeah um so the fun thing about them playing is that basically the way it works is since it is my birthday that's not like the main focus of the event but I'm GNA be playing a set with my bin we'll probably play for an hour and 15 and then you know she's got it worked out to the tea she's like maybe a little bit Yeah the planning like oh I'm like I like playing music I didn't know I had all do you do this to yourself though yeah of course yes and it's so funny my my parents or my mom like literally yesterday she's like B like I see you're stressed and you can't be stressed I don't want I want you to be happy and I'm like I am happy I put myself here I just have so much to do I had one of those days yesterday where I I was not my best self I was not and then my husband was trying to ask me questions I was like throwing plates throwing I'm like please don't talk to me right now please don't talk to me right now and he continued to try and talk to me I was like please I've asked you I look like I'm about to have a panic attack I feel like I'm dying inside and I've asked you just not to talk to me for three minutes thank you well you know you have to do that yeah yeah it's it's hard to explain sometimes like that's what I'm saying about being create space yeah like if I'm if anyone else is in the room and I'm trying to like Focus I'm just like the door right there especially when you're a kind person to ask multiple times for just a space a bubble I need I need a minute it's really really hard sometimes and I I was just curious how that was working for you because you are very intimately with your parents all of the time like your love life you're 17 years old right you're a songwriter you're a musician how does that space work for you well I don't know but it does that's it no so love life like we're single yes we're single happily single okay yes there's not been romance has there been no there hasn't really no I know you wouldn't think so with the lyrical content but no there hasn't well where do you get your inspiration um I I know a lot of people write from like it doesn't have to be something you experience I agree like you do not have to suffer to feel suffering I there are a lot of artists that are like oh you can write based on someone else's stuff or you can do and I can't do that yeah so I have to write from my own experiences are you one of those people that lives in your head though cuz I definitely do like I there's a whole another life going on in there that is terrifying so most like all of my lyrics are true and they are heartfelt but I'm very metaphorical okay so most of what seems like it's romantic or like love involved is a metaphor for other things happening in my life yeah okay but yeah I always wonder that you know because they say true artist you know until you experience the suffering until you hurt for a little bit until you get that depth right I don't feel like that that has to happen yeah no I totally agree I think defining where those things come from can be different for everybody because I've 100% gone I've been hurt in in what would be perceived as romantic ways you know there have been situations but I haven't actually been in a relationship whereas most people assume that you have to have been in a relationship and been broken up with to write anything like actually I think what I've experienced has influenced my writing in ways that I would never have imagined so I'm grateful for any weird situations that have happened to me and you know who you are than Demetrius a metaphor meatballs equals love Marie hi lady she's brilliant that's how she makes music and Holly says an empath extraordinaire maybe that is your emotion you feel other people's emotion yeah one of the lyrics that you guys have yet to hear on a song called the less I know is I will feel It All Forever that pretty much sums up me because I take on everyone else's feelings I'm definitely an empath in that way yeah that's got to be hard yeah oh it totally is um my daughter Lil is very much that way and she takes long showers and baths and like has to get away from people she's like I'll be over here for a long time just trying to get it off of me because she does she absorbs other people's energy and it's so much for her yes I 100% feel that so she's channeling other people's problems into her music passion comes from the heart as Cindy loer says What's Love Got to Do with it that's amazing is that Cindy loer I thought that was Tina Turner maybe she did too I don't know I like Cindy Loper also I'm a big fan highly sensitive person yes it's a blessing and equally a curse what's up Lauren thanks for joining us I thought so I was like I need to be validated so she's got this big show Vana Pella coming up the Z Jack brothers are going to be playing she's working on some new music a single drops at midnight yes talk about the show why Tommy's Place Tommy's place oh we were brainstorming and we have connections to Tommy's place and I am just so in awe of what they do I actually got to tour Tommy's place and walk through and see it and I can't express how amazing I've been through both of them it's so magical it is so magical and there's definitely a somber feeling walking through but it's so beautiful that they get to put on little vacations for I love the fact so if you're not familiar with Tommy's place it's a a vacation home where kids can go that are going through treatment and it's a free vacation for them their entire family I mean it there's both of them have like 15 bedrooms if you need to store whoever it is but everything's thought of fully stocked fridge all kinds of play areas you can just go and be a kid they have themed rooms they had a Taylor Swift themed room and it was it was crazy and i' I've always been like huge with Charity um we used to live in foxburo and we were the closest house to Gillette Stadium and when I was little we would have people walk through because we had a connecting path and so we would just have hundreds of people walk through our house to go to Patriot Games concerts and so every time I would have a bake sale and we would just make something and I ended up giving like over $15,000 to the Joe Andrey Foundation that's amazing and I got invited to his Gala you've even played at Gillette in that area I was wondering how I was like how what um yeah so my dad used to plow Gillette Stadium hysterical and so a friend of ours runs the the booking for Patriot Place like we know a guy we'll get you in um but yeah so I would this is how things are done before concerts um I played before the Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel concert what was that feeling like insane insane and then I actually got to go to the concert and I had to buy my ticket everyone was like oh did you get a free ticket no I didn't I spent way too much money but I'm not passing that up yeah um but yeah we were on the floor like 20 rows back like front and center I was like and I just played this is the coolest thing ever yeah you've had some amazing experiences for sure I saw you on stage were you at the Spire were uh Plymouth yeah I played there with Cara that stage was not intimidating to you at all no so we weren't maybe you're thinking of the Stone Church maybe because it looks similar but when I played with Cara we were in the lobby yeah but yeah I played with the Z Jack Brothers on tour because I play Joanie Mitchell in the last Walts um we played at the Stone Church in Brattleboro Vermont very cool yeah and that actually correlates to what you were asking me earlier which I got sidetracked from again but I love it it's fine um I finished writing wolf on that trip so I put my final lyrics on Wolf while we were in Vermont and it was like two lines too I had like literally nothing left for the song and I was couldn't think of it and I was like there it is had to drive three hours to get it speaking of which had to drive three hours our question of the day today is you've got a seven hour road trip and you can only listen to One artist who is the artist you know mine already definitely MC Miller and mine's just the Beatles I there's so many to choose from and it just goes on and it doesn't bother me yes um absolutely I have so many Beetles would totally be up there well it's just one of those things that I can leave on and it's happy it's sad it's weird there's all kinds of sounds I could shake it up a bit if it's one artist that's how I feel about Mac yeah she's also that way yeah I um the one thing that like kept me like energized and like actually ready to be up this early was that I was just bumping backc in the car like my mom is subject to my constant playing a she must love it though I mean you know you're you're her only baby what what my baby wants my baby gets I know she takes care of you very very well I just saw that uh speaking of The Beatles George Harrison's unfinished breakfast toast from 1963 sold to a Beatles fan for $95,000 wow do you envision this written thing that you wrote wolf on for selling for millions of dollars someday that would be pretty neat right it would be really cool like these are the memorabilia things you now have to start thinking of sell selling and and making sure they're in good shape just in case yeah we were thinking about um because at the party we're gonna have a raffle and a silent auction and that's going to be benefiting Tommy's place and my dad because we have a bunch of um acoustic guitars really nice acoustic guitars and we were like we should sign one as a band and like put it up as an auction I'm like I hope somebody wants it you just never know some random things I was um friends my next door neighbors were friends with Michelle Branch growing up and she had a guitar that she had sold and we ended up donating it somewhere and it was like it ended up going for like $30,000 I was like I should have waited I should have saved it why did I just give it away we've got a giveaway speaking of which oh yeah you have assemble 10 people that bought the pre-sale that uh are gonna win tickets enter the raffle and I have their name so we're gonna read them off okay go ahead um or we're gonna pick a winner let's see all right we got Karine we've got Sheila Jack Mary Ally Allen Kristen Jennifer Jenny and Tom we've got a random number generator and our winner is Ali woodison yes Ally woodison you are winning tickets those are our neighbors actually oh I love it see random number generator always wins I use it for any of my giveaways of the BBY comments I'm like you have a number you have a number you have a number generate the number I'm not in the middle of this one I always get stressed out back in the day when I used to rip up the papers when I was on the radio rip it up I'm like 300 more to go throwing it in a hat because I the fair police I wanted to make sure it was done properly what's up Alan hey Karine she really wanted to win that's okay Karine aren't you going anyway we will see you there by the way the show is coming up next Saturday uh starts at 6:30 you get dinner at the kuna messet you get two bands they're going to be raffle items for Tommy's Place ticket price is a hundred bucks but it it's a good deal especially at the Cuda messet where they feed you like crazy it's yeah it's a buffet you can literally pick anything the food is insane I know last year like walking in they had this like massive display of like fruit and cheese and like every I'm just like this this is my part I love the carv right I love the fact that you're kind of just C celebrating but also doing something for somebody else I think it's so important I'm I'm so excited it's as much as it's like my birthday I really just do this as like something fun for me and to get to bring Community together and to help raise some money for Tommy's place it's going to be awesome yeah it's pretty amazing I know that we've got other stuff going on in the world and ROM was like ah this should be good because I'm not good on pop culture yeah yeah I do you watch TV no do you read books I do read books okay I I'm very disconnected with everything there's zero judgment here I'm just always just curious like everything is eat sleep Breathe music pretty much yeah especially right now as we're recording um but yeah I mean I'm not huge into like current events because I'm like so consumed with my immediate life yeah I think there's so much happening that's so scary and so easy to like fall into that I try to just keep myself you know in my own bubble I have my people that I love I have I know what I can control so I like to just kind of embrace that I think that that's words of wisdom for a lot of us out here right now having having our time I mean I do wait into the pop culture stuff just because I've done it for so long and I'm just so curious about other people's lives I'm like what are they doing it's fascinating I very much am I'm always been an interviewer how does that work what does that look like how are you feeling awesome I mean honestly I also don't have time for that because I am so busy I think I'm in the stage right now where I am doing it's like just like on the brink of like where I would have people doing these things for me like social media and promoting and all of this and I am doing all of it myself when it comes to like I did just sign with a booking agency shout out Loose Leaf yay but yeah so now booking is not my thing anymore but I have so much like every day if you ask anybody that knows me I spend like easily five or six hours doing you know social media emails booking talking all of this just like I'm on so many meetings every day it's crazy but I wouldn't change it Lauren says you have to disconnect to be successful do not feel guilty in that realm of things thank you that means a lot to me it's because uh a little bit of a control issue that you're going to have a hard time giving up that social connection or do you think that that's important um I don't think so yeah I don't I mean no I think definitely think it's important I just don't I mean it like on a more broad scale yeah because I am like super outgoing and um extroverted and going out and talking to people and like making like genuine connections is my favorite thing to do ask anybody but when it comes to like social media it can be so draining and it can be so hard to feel like you're you know actually prospering I know um just un like in the topic of music I will put money into getting my post sponsored I will work with promoters and do everything I can and then it's like okay got like three new followers today where as somebody that's making like AI inspired music has 50,000 followers yeah that's got to be frustrating oh it really is I I um I definitely struggle with that a little bit um just my biggest concern is since I put so much of myself into the music that I'm making I want to make sure that it's going to be received properly and I want to make sure that people um are going to want to listen and with it and so when I'm putting like months of my life into creating this album I'm like it's definitely in the back of my mind like I hope that people connect with it I hope people give it a chance I hope people don't you know look past it because it's so easy to just scroll and watch an Instagram real and say oh that's cool and then forget about it two seconds but that's the life you've only known you know what I mean you don't I'm glad that wasn't taken away from you and now you've got this little Edge that's why I tried to separate myself from it as best as possible because I want to I'm I'm definitely jealous of the the world where you could put up a flyer to get your name heard instead of you know constantly having to it was a good time we had a good run but there was also nothing else we weren't distracted as a society we didn't have 400 apps memes channels things and that's a huge thing for me creatively too is the distractions because you know having access to anything and everything all at any time that you want is incredibly difficult as a creative because my Lily is 18 and she said you gave me unfettered internet access this is your fault yeah I didn't know no I I agree and I I think about that all the time how different my art would be if I didn't have the ability to find anything I wanted to because there's a part of me that as a as a creative person it's like of course I want to know all this information let me look it up and then the other side of me is like I want to find that out on my own I want to live and experience things there is that dichotomy right the people that have taken it to drill down into a certain thing you've drilled down into music you know some people have drilled down into gardening or art there's art history things that my daughter knows that I'm like why do you know that because they wanted to you know because you had the ability with the little internet at the fingertips of your hands your little computer to find that information because you cared enough to find out about it so it is interesting if it's used for good to do that I have um been inspired by that logic too yeah Ashley says a musician who cares more about bringing Community together as a star in and of itself oh thank you I know right Lauren says yes yes I have a space if you want it Haley lucky introvert here and there is so much comfort and Solitude M Christine love me some Vana pachella she's amazing thank you so many wonderful people here with us today and uh if you've not heard Vanna I definitely suggest you do so why the keys was that the one instrument that you were like this is it because I know you can play other stuff so this is actually this is funny that you bring this up because I I started playing piano when I was six years old um my dad used to move pianos so we there was like uh someone was giving away a piano and he was like okay and then we had a piano in my house and I was like had fun with it and so then I did I went into piano lessons for six years so I got all my theory and knowledge and I play by ear so I just kind of took off with that but I just kind of picked up guitar like not too long ago because I am so intrigued by it and I am so jealous of Tom for being so good at guitar I'm so bad at it I'm it hurts my fingers so hard it hurts it's my husband bought me this base he's like babe it's the base it's for I was like I ate it my fingers hurt why you Mak me do this yeah I want to know how to do it but not hurt myself while doing it it's not easy but you will hear me playing guitar on the album that's exciting there a track that I played all of the guitars before I love that everything but drums on this I had no knowledge of this that's really cool yeah um I'm like super proud of it I'm as you should be I know how painful that is yeah oh it's really and I was forced to play the violin my entire childhood I played in the symphony yeah well that's where you get the beginning of music right it's it is two years old put put a violin in their hands so I have been under the impression that I just started singing when I was 15 um which is true I did just start singing but my parents are currently cleaning out our house in Foxboro and getting it ready to rent and they found this old camera and there's just videos of me at three four years old singing full songs like on Pitch like just literally like in dresses like holding a microphone I'm like you guys didn't tell me that I used to be it's like what happened I literally said I had better stage presence then you didn't because you weren't judging yourself right I don't even think it's so much of judging myself as just that I'm locked behind the two keyboards and I can't do anything I definitely like Envy the front woman who can stand up there with a microphone and like put on a show but as a trio that's out of the card do you watch back your performances and you're like why was I doing that with my hands no actually why did I do that I don't do that which is like I would expect myself to do that because I everything I always like I I have T-Rex hands and I don't know why I do this I when I watch videos of I'm like why are you why Stephanie what is happening over there it's always like this and I don't know why no I mean I that's awesome I just am stuck you know because I'm just like this the whole time yeah yeah right but you know I definitely I complain to my B my sometimes and I'm just like oh I have so much I do so much when we're at a gig like I can't improvise as much as I want to but then if it were like oh well we'll get a bass player I'm like no go away your mom said we forgot we forgot about the videos CU you're so busy in your life right this is what we do we move on we're dealing with this crisis right now I think I've been busy since I was three yeah but that's not a bad thing particularly and your dad's over here too Who Knew Too Cute the most best support system right here in this family I'm so it's wonderful to watch it really is it it's a nice thing and if you've not seen Vanna play yet definitely come out to the kuna Masset grab yourself some tickets grab yourself a meal and uh check out the Z Jack Brothers as well because I'm telling you they are pretty fantastic so yeah they're they're amazing and the last bals tribute is so authentic like there's like at least 12 members like it's crazy it's nice to hear he real music being made again absolutely I think that we have been in this weird Studio beat making machine box for a while and uh it's I love that for whatever reason this cape of ours still values musicianship still values Creation in that space and has a has a spot for it all the time absolutely and that's a big thing in my music is We are not recording with like or at least we weren't in the beginning now my equipment is like top-notch because I don't have a dollar left in my bank account that's okay too you're it's investment in yourself right yes um but there's something I don't think when you listen to our music you could tell we did it at home I think we we did really good with it but it's real and so like we actually recorded the drums with room mics and it's if you listen to it I think it definitely has a a fresh sound because most of what we listen to is so over produced that this is just like authentic clean yeah I'm excited for it so wolf drops at midnight tonight I'm so excited and you're also working on a full album yes we are almost done when did this decision happen how long have you been working on it you know what I mean you're like we should make it out we should do this but then actually start setting out from like recording it when did you start this process so I never had a like we should make an album yeah I just I started writing and I had I I had so many um ideas in songs and I started like really working hard at them because I have been writing for my whole life I just couldn't like it didn't click for me yet like writing and putting things into forms and songs I could come up with something melodic or I could come up with something lyrical but I couldn't like make them into songs um but it cliffed for me in July I think and ever since I've been writing so much and I think like October um we started yeah it was like Halloween we recorded that demo of dark side and we had a studio date booked in November um so ever since then we've just been recording and getting everything down so yeah and you're like we've got the studio and then they're like that's really expensive we can do this ourselves yes Brian sans's go Vanna hi Brian so many wonderful musicians have bopped in today to say hello and say hi and support you what does that feel like that you have peers that have been at this for so long mentors peers what does that look like for you uh it's such a nice feeling to see so much support um because yeah it's sometimes easy to get blinded to that and not really feel and just be like I hope that these people around here are supporting me I hope that they do like what I'm creating but then it in times like this it'll just be like an overflowing amount of love and it makes me so happy yeah well I mean it's not a space in which yeah there is competition for gigs yes there is competition for who's the person right now that everybody's going to see but there isn't I find that we're so supportive and like that's why I loved your jams because it was like come you know we're all doing these separate little things but together we're making music right yeah there can definitely be um a toxic side um it's the Mean Girl thing we all you know we get that in that space sometimes Vision but I don't think that it comes from a genuine place I don't think that there is anybody on cap or on this music scene that is you know genuinely not wanting the best for everybody else I think if anything from other people it would just be like um wanting the best for themselves yeah or just being a little bit like overwhelmed by how much talent we have on the cape but at the same time I think we have such a a supporting you scene and it's really great to see that um I know I am someone that wants to go like to everybody's gig but I obviously can't you can't it's so exhausting like being up that that time of night and putting all of yourself into a show it over time builds up and the recovery is longer yes and you're a little bit more jaded and crabby and don't want to do these things sometimes you have to feel that yeah for sure um it can it can definitely affect I think day to day yeah I don't see anything really build up over time yeah but if there's like if I had like a really long weekend and I was like out straight I know actually last weekend last year for the um the party I had the event and then we went to I think go see fly down after the event because they were playing till 12 like minutes away and I was like what why not and then the next day I had a rehearsal in Hope Road Island with the sck brothers at like 11:00 a.m. and it was like two hours away so I remember I know there's times like that where I'm just like no one talk to me I have at least you have a driver yeah I know I know people are always just like oh like why didn't you get your license and I'm like one I am so busy and I literally have not had a minute to even try and two I have person driver like why would I want to rush that unbelievable my 18-year-old also does not have her license neither does my 16-year-old but I think he is going to get it before she will get it and she is a passenger princess I am a passenger I want this life I want I want this life I wish I'm not gonna renew mine I'm just gonna let it go someone's gonna have to drive me around I'm not against it I have makeup to do in the car she's got things to do she's got naps to take makeup to do social media things I need a I need a driver as well what's up Chris Ball thanks for joining us hey Dave hegner we've got Joselyn just as sweet as your mom she says a super cute so many supporters here for Vana pachella I don't know if Brian is still on here but I am playing um at his release party at The Listening Room very cool April 25th so yeah there so many dates where do we find dates where do we keep up with Vanna because you're always like I'm here I'm there I'm so I have all of my dates posted on my Facebook page and my Instagram and I usually have them pinned right now I don't because the amount of like gigs that we're doing is not like monthly it's not as many as usual because we're recording yeah um but yeah if you want to stay current I post everything on my pages um and my link tree my link tree has all of my information so perfect yeah I just ordered new business cards yesterday look at you Boston it's good thank you passenger princess for life so it says Holly Dave I take naps I just uh came across my screen because uh we have breaking news is it really breaking news Jean Hackman and Betsy arakawa's deaths have now been ruled suspicious after no signs of carbon monoxide leak were found and I thought it was funny when you walked in you're like I don't I don't even know who that is I sorry don't don't be sorry lived 95 years only made you know a million I'm sure I know something that if you saw him you're like oh that guy yes I know I'm sorry I like that too my 17 is showing that's okay anytime anytime anything happens because I do act so adult and so mature but my and I I hate when like my band would like make fun of me and just be like great job sport like knock him dead kiddo or like say just like Antiquated sayings yes I love it but anytime I do anything like it's new to her she doesn't know it anytime I do anything like silly they're just like your 17 is showing right I love that though that's good let your 17 show forever as far as I'm concerned I saw that Katie Perry and Gail King they're going to space in a rocket ship do you what do you want to be when you grow up Vanna do you have aspirations to go to random ly space I don't have any interest in doing any of that I I definitely don't right I'm I'm happy on earth right I'm I'm good here in your bubble yeah that you've made for safety sake too funny um let's see there was a story today that made me laugh because I was like could you write a song about it there was a woman that was thrift shopping she found a $19 dress it was a wedding dress turns out it was worn on the set of Sex in the City in fact it was worn by Carrie Roda which you probably have no idea of the things that I'm saying to you and she no she she got this and she's using the money that she's getting from this dress because it's currently selling um the bids I think are over $20,000 at this point to fund her own divorce I was like that is a country song that totally could be a country song It's a country song everybody goes to Nashville do you have this push to go to Nashville to hone your skills I would I would love to yeah um yeah I mean I'm more like I'm more concerned about getting off the cape I think yeah because I think um like just playing out and like I think there's um there's such a a great Community here and it's it bit of a yeah I think it's a little bit closed um there's not like in the summertime is a different story obviously but um I really want to like travel and as and you know play to more people and get more audiences to hear my music and that's part of why I sign with with loose leaf yeah because they have contacts like throughout the country so I've met some amazing musicians through loose leaf and uh Abe doing uh one of my favorite violinists uh and he's an Dave Matthews tribute band and I like I still follow his career I'm like oh little Abe go but he finds himself in the most incredible gig spaces because people are always looking for a musician to add a violin and he can jump in on stage at massive concerts with Luke Bryan or like little tiny tribute bands that's amazing and that's just the musician that he is but I always watch whatever he's popping up and he was a loose leaf person um they're they're just they're good they'll Foster I think you're in a safe space I'm I'm super excited yeah we we just signed with them a couple weeks ago so stuff is just starting to sprinkle in I did I did a cannabis cruise and they were on there pushing like Rock the vote or something like that so they were handing out like pins and doing all kinds of like other crazy stuff that they do I was like what are you do aren't you guys into like fostering musicians and they're like yeah but we do this too Grassroots honestly they do so much yeah it's like I'm like how how does this happen yeah there are so many facets to that I agency yeah I mean it's crazy they you have an agency VI I do have an agency right you ordered business cards you're making an album I am making an album you are turning 18 uhhuh adulthood I know on the edge of 17 no she's on the edge of doing big things and that's pretty exciting yeah so remember us okay I'll never forget I right I was like remember us when you're big and famous and you're like Stephanie I knew her come to my show put me in the front row so I could sit there and goooo and Gaga with Holly and your dad so last year um at the party we played edge of 17 and I sang it and it was so fun and I'm like I guess that's real yeah I'm like I can never like sing this again now and so as a band we decided we were like no the only other time I can sing it is at the next one because I I'll be on the other edge of that's so you will hear me sing that for one one more time is at the party yay I'm so excited I am so pumped to see you where do people get tickets yeah don't ask Wes he's like wait cannabis Cruz can we go back I I was promoting it it's her lemon Ado we work in that space I was there promoting things and handing out stickers thank you very much uh where do people get tickets for your show oh you can get them on a vent Bri or if you are a cash or check person you can come find me and pay me yeah and yeah I do all of the divvying up most of that most of that ticket money and you're like running your business though yeah right I have been for a while now because I hate the concept of people when they're like you know uh my parents are doing all this for me you're running your own business I am they just happen to be the ones getting you there for sure um yeah I have a team I have a team of support you know my mom is the cook and everything backstage and I she came in with baked goods today oh yeah you have the best momer I've ever met in my entire life I will say though I made some of those you were involved yeah I made um the carrot cake cupcakes with real carrots oh yeah yes that's going to be my husband's going to take that away from me he's probably already eaten it like a truffle pig when it comes to carrot cake so good I hope Tom's not watching this because they were for Tom's birthday sorry Tom but we had a bunch left over so yes I'm very much looking forward to this now we got to end the show have a great Friday have a great weekend are you gonna be out and about where anticipation for album drops not yet we're not there
