Zyg on some new music, a BFA, an award nomination, great stories

saraphina and I were in a entrepreneurial book club where Stephanie never read the right book and Stephanie was terrible at this book club I really such CL I did not fabulous I'm what I just had a visual a proud of it hold on hello and good morning yeah we're a little tardy this morning I'm taking the late I'm taking the late I've got Zig with me this morning how's it going thank you so much for coming on the show it's always a joy to have you here hey I'm glad to be back glad to be back it's a comfortable chair well good I'm glad yeah I slept in a little bit this morning and like had one of those mornings where you just kind of like take stock of your craziness that has been first quarter for me and uh it was really nice to even just take an hour before I hit it running normally I'm one of those people are you a person that wakes up and like gets out their day or does it take you a while to like it depends for metime sometimes more often than not I'm I'm kind of just right in it yeah and that and I mean in recent months it's been kind of like 50/50 sometimes I get right in on the day honestly and then other times I I kind of you know first couple hours I'm kind of just like Lolly gagging but at the same time though I'm still also putting certain things in place because even when I'm still moving slow I'm also like just like ah still gotta set this this this this and this up yeah because like I'm now 10 months into touring now I I start I officially started the tour in in May and around May when I started the tour I was fully in the get in this get in this type of mode but like you're here now yeah right here here here I am so introduce yourself to our fabulous humans that may not know who the zyg 808 is hello I'm the zyg 808 I'm a 20 yearold recent 21y old actually college graduate I'm so proud of you sitting here with your BFA right now from God College amazing that's right I saw you first play at Mash P High School like really play like get you were just jamming on the drums I forget what it was some sort of um recital some sort of it was before graduation was it wait because I'm trying toite was it like in the gym that's that was probably the march concert it was so good yeah and I was like this kid is amazing like I was blown away by your ability at that moment in time little did we know you would go on to finish a degree before many people even start college uh and also uh be touring make albums make music be nominated for a Native American award which is like really incredible shout shout out shout out the namas the Native American Music Awards and uh hi to our friends over at 90.7 KKL thanks for checking in with us midday movie Madness we're happy to have you here this morning oh yo shout out wkkl my f my first time I was I had a very very brief career in radio and um wkkl was where I got whereas where I did my first show it was like Thursdays 6 to 7 it was the cipher is what I called it I love it yeah Lisa does a really great job with that program and uh I'm looking forward to hanging out at the college coming up in the next couple of weeks everybody is on spring break right now so enjoy it she's uh on another continent she said but we're getting together next week to work on some programming there and I'm glad that you tried it you had fun with it you played with it but you're you're a music man yeah right yeah so talk to me about some of your projects right now because I think when I'm busy you're out you've been out three nights straight for crying out loud and you're not stopping I love it yeah that's right I'm I'm I'm I'm having having a nice night in tonight because tomor tomorrow night I'm GNA be out in New Bedford doing a DJ set well doing little dj set and also um shout out Caro he's GNA be performing with me at the thump and soul session also JC how yeah he gonna be performing with me at the thump and soul session and um mogg also a Rhode Island artist is gonna be his first Massachusetts show actually isn't that nice to work with other people yeah yeah and also speaking of projects I I have a gift for you you do yeah I had to get for you last time but this right here is Build Destroy CD I'm so excited for this CD yeah now there are some awardwinning tracks on here well about to be yeah so track track one and track six are the ones that got nominated I love it yeah there you go I want everybody to see it so that they can grab these whenever they uh are seeing you out and about right yeah right now the whole project is available as physical media and on band camp wonderful you and I were talking about being the oneman show I had my first annual meeting as being um the executive director of the chamber and I was so worried about this I had nightmares do you ever have nightmares before you do a show that something's going to go wrong um I did I mean not right before a show but sometimes I will have a random nightmare that I'm at a show and something's going wrong or I'm on the way to a show and something's going wrong this is not a premonition I'm not accepting this yeah well facts I mean a lot of my dreams have involved being in the car and and like cuz I think it was either last night or the night before I somehow was in the car and I had like somehow driven onto a lake of ice a frozen lake where my dream people what does this mean yeah yeah somebody somebody helped me decode that one I know we'll have to unpack that one like aice it's like a Nirvana something if we have if we have any dream decoders after you finished helping me I have a friend named JM who needs some some dreams deciphered he's at JM does it all on Instagram DM him say I can my brother I can help you all right yeah very interesting I think we got a person for you but yeah Carol Sherman W citizen of the year last night and it was just so nice to see so many wonderful Mash P businesses thriving and enjoying the evening together in one piece of community we really it was incredible it's not often fun when you go to stuffy Awards stuff like that sometimes right but I feel like there was such a good Buzz of energy you know when people bring that energy whether it's a show or group Gathering like people were just in a good mood and it was so nice you know fun awards show I went to recently was actually um the bars over bars Awards y yeah I got I actually I me and Caro both took home Cape cod's finest that night Stephanie Salada is watching and she's like Caro barible High School grad yay yes sir and Bev says Hey family what's up T thanks for joining us Tamora Hi how are you hey zigg this young person is so incredibly talented the world needs to see this Young Person's Talent that's the right the goal this is why he's here for real for real and we are thrilled to have you yeah so mashby high grad very excited to have you back and always giving back you're part of our community and you're you're making music and you're sharing it with all of us and speaking of making music I have like three projects of my of just my own even that I'm working on talk to me about that like do you prefer to work by yourself do you prefer to work in a collab cuz you and I were talking about being onean show right it's been well see it's the funny thing of we kind of we kind of both end up as like a sort of one one man show or like one person with two helpers kind of show cuz it's like when I'm doing stuff with the galados a lot of the time it's kind of the three of us setting stuff up or play with the old man so it's funny because like now my my dad used to be the youngest in the band now he's the oldest and then there's there's uh our basist alons 3 who is kind of in the middle age wide of us and then there's um there's also one of our other vocalists Bishop the shadow man he he's like a couple years older than um than than Al but um what do you feel like when you play with them in that respect it's just a different vibe right you do you feel like you're the young one in there I mean kind of but I mean I've been the young one for a while and but do you feel like you have to like follow their lead or do you set the tone and they're like okay I'm liking what you're putting down we all kind of vibe off each other yeah we all kind of VI off each other and U what I was about to say though is like a lot of the times with the show with the shows except for like some of the recent stuff that we've been able to be a part of a lot of the times it's like alons running the running the board while trying to play Basse at the same time it's like a whole lot it's a whole another language when you watch musicians work together it's like the collaboration like I've never seen especially when you work in your different various collaborations whether it's a gral lados whether it's uh we're working on the wamp tronica stuff shout out shout out wamp tronica um also wamp tronica also just dropped a song today it's called grown folks party go check it out how do you keep track of who's What's um we we all put on different uniforms for each gig so like we have we have now jerseys that say the groov of lados on them that we that we put on check your clothes to see what I'm playing right now well we check we check the clothes and we check what we have in the trunk love it if you've ever been in any musician's vehicle van and or otherwise you just never know the cornicopia of things that you will find in there wires beats boxes and then the little things yeah you always the roll of tape is pretty big because it's like you gotta gotta um You Gotta Have Gaff tape if you're if you're if you're gonna be doing any live performances and especially if you're running live sound gotta have a roll of Gaff tape I had a very funny moment on uh Wednesday when I helped um host one of an award ceremony and I put my black gaffing tape over the very carefully put down white gapping tape that the balloon people did to match the Aesthetics of the place and I'm like here I am going right on over you because I need to put my cords in there I know I ruined her beautiful white tape she did such a great job making it seemless and gorgeous and here I am mucking it up I don't do it pretty I do it to get it done I tape down the wires right do you have white gaffing tape I was like oh my God they make it look so nice it's just not the aesthetic we do we make sure it's taped down for safety see this this th that's part that's part of why you have a lot of people who do the all black thing because it's easier to match stuff with it right yeah Mary says true story M Mary Jane Vasquez Martin ah so many amazing musicians that check in Mar Martin Martin was my teacher amazing yeah yeah shout out Martin that's the guy it's the man it's Sky what's on this new album that you've been working so hard on well let's see because you've been doing this in Yeah so basically the whole the full track list is is eight songs and each of the songs are connected to one of the principles from the Supreme mathematics so what the Supreme mathematics does is it assigns a principle to every digit starting at one and ending at zero zero being the completion because it's a complete circle we might have talked about this last time we did a little bit but I still like uh it blows my mind that there is someone that puts this amount of thought into creating not only music but then the theory behind it which is fabulous right higher mind than me my friend it sounds good yeah so so right now the tracks that are available for wider streaming outside of band camp and the CD you got the knowledge track the understanding track the power track and the equality track cuz that's one three five and six that's knowledge understanding power power refinement actually and equality um loving it basically that's freak Show is track one y one on the album that was also actually the first single that we dropped and Dam that was two years ago I was going to say it's been a while since fre show drops yeah see some some a lot of stuff happened technological stuff was weird because we had to switch around with Distributors Y and you know that that ended up kind of delaying some stuff um your dad is very Savvy with music though he's really a good educator for you in this space it's have a m that you're but also that you're making money off of your music that's a fact yeah CU like it's also um in terms of the money-making aspect that's also how learned about band camp because that's how artists gets supported directly yeah for their stuff because the way that certain streaming services do stuff like royalties is kind of kind of shady we could just say that yeah yeah doesn't quite the math isn't mathing the math the math is insulting we just we we'll just we'll just we'll just we'll just we'll just be blunt the math is insulting let's break it down right so when you release something to Spotify we'll go with Spotify because they were just bragging last week about being the service that has paid the biggest Bill to music royalty blah blah blah blah they were bragging about it course they're bragging about it because they're deflecting the fact that they are lying Liars they're a bunch of lying Liars but are they lying Liars what's upy there's some there's some lying liars and and let me let me break it down further I was about to break it down further because you get one stream uh you know how much you get off of the one listen I'm going to guess a penny a quarter of a penny something like that yeah yeah like like it's it's insulting remember how I said exactly so it's you have to get 5,000 streams to make $20 isn't that insane versus so one copy of build Destroyer right here that's 10 $10 okay I can sell two CDs and make the same amount of money money that I would make off of 5,000 streams I could sell a t-shirt make the same amount of money I'd make off of 5,000 streams I mean this is really kind of where the the music system failed you a little bit in that respect if you don't know business uh the business of music is different than the creation of music and I think that creatives have long since had a hard time monetizing themselves properly but you understand the finances of this well well see creatives creatives get the short end of the stick in so many aspects that like I said it's insulting because we don't we don't even I mean the conversation thankfully has now been open more so where we're now talking about how creatives aren't like valued as much as we should be for sure because let it out s uh see I'm now remembering I'm going to I'm you know what I'm I'm I'm feeling messy today I'm going to call her out do it Nancy Willet you're you're you're a mean person you're you're you know you know how every rapper has that teacher who said that they wouldn't that they wouldn't amount to anything Nancy Willet was one of those for me and she was one of the ones I had during dual enrollment when I was when I was getting my college credits during High School y i I love it be messy you're allowed to be open here so we're going to go back in time to early 2021 so this would be this is a long time ago February February 2021 so zigg at this point was 17 was a senior in high school was about to drop the second album and the second album that I did was my senior project actually I called it beat Lounge notes and this was like kind of the beginning of seeing the roll out single by single than like the full thing on band camp yeah now all the singles from beat Lounge notes are on are on Spotify go listen to it go run it up um you know still pioneers and gymnastics are my favorite project songs from that project I'm ready to get so yeah pioneers and gymnastics th those are crem de la crem there's also one called Glory of history that I like but I don't perform that one a lot because it's it's extremely inflammatory and coming from me that's saying something I can only imagine but so in February I dropped my single pioneers and along with this song Dropping I did the music video and because there's always an end I did a presentation yeah like a whole PowerPoint that I live streamed on Facebook and I'm talking about you put a lot of work into this project a whole lot of work into this senior project 7,000 moving parts and that was just the beginning of my everything involved in my schooling containing a whole bunch of stuff I'm just seeing zigg being beautiful mind 17year old putting all this together by the way Britney says she wants to know give her the best listen I'm gonna go do it right now and good morning to you Sarah okay all right so you have all this stuff this moving Parts you're here here's my presentation so so so so so so with dual enrollment right the classes that we take at the college you know have you know certain times that they're at so like Nancy Willits was my event planning class and that was it's like an entire semester of like three hours of Tuesday afternoon that I wish I could get back that I know I'm not going to get back but it's kind of whatever that was 3:30 to 6:30 every Tuesday for for 14 I think or no 15 weeks yeah that was that was that was spent during her class and see this Pioneers that song dropped it dropped on a Wednesday but I did the presentation the night before yeah because it dropped at the at the midnight Mark right yeah so I'm setting up for the presentation during you know when the class time would be you know what I mean and it's like yeah you know you don't want to miss class but it's like all the stuff's electronic all the stuff is stuff that can be you know made up honestly and you know it's like okay this is this is stuff that I'm doing that's bigger than bigger than than than some some event planning thing that I can honestly come back to but she then has this whole conversation with me where she's like I have some concerns because about this class and and see you know you're you're you know passing up this class to go do this music and honestly music really isn't sustainable this thing that you're pursuing is not sustainable honestly but isn't you preparing for a gig an event planning isn't that exactly doing what the planning is that she was expecting you to do so here's an issue that we have that we run into so much with Academia that you know makes me understand some people's frustrations with it so you have some teachers who you have a degree now you're allowed let it out you're you're in they will they will put more emphasis on being in class for their in their class during than actually doing stuff that will ultimately end up serving you more outside of the the the academic Ivory Tower I think the word you are speaking of is practical the Practical the practicum the thing the thing that you're actually doing the thing you're learning they they yes well they're they're not concerned with whether you're doing actual practice come or no check in a box you know what I'm saying that was still hard it's fine you don't have to say what you want Oh My Gosh Zig I'm so happy you're here I'm I'm I'm H I'm happy it's a good conversation to have though because while my daughter is here my son just won an award last night for his volunteerism and whatnot but it's important to know that not everybody is educated the same way not every education is the same thing exactly what you're learning from it and I think it really that's why I loved garded so much you know what I mean I saw a great conversation online yesterday and it was from a Humanities Professor that said people in college right now are learning specific things for a specific job but sometimes those jobs then become Obsolete and then what are you going to do if you don't know how to think and to Pivot and to learn and that's why she suggested having a Humanities degree of some sort because you do learn the basis of thinking and so whenever my daughter came home from school and she's like Mom I'm going to go and I'm going to major in philosophy I'm like well at least you learn how to think B right whatever I you know I'm fine with I mean as long as as long as you don't go into psych you're fine it I had I had a bad I had a bad experience with a psych major that's why I'm biased but anyway not everybody is this way oh Zig you're jaded you're too young to be this jaded I guess it's gonna come out in your music that's why you beat things like drums yes see I I I I got c c see there's there's Bill destroy now that I've been sitting on for a couple years at this point yeah and if if we want if we want to now see for a second how everything connects the stuff that you're hearing on build destroy some of it actually dates back to 2021 while I'm rolling out this beat Lounge notes project amazing yeah Mark Hennessy Foundation great interview looking forward to seeing more of wamp tronica that's awesome sir if you don't know about the next next next project that I have it's a lot longer than Build Destroy yeah is well more songs less features there's some features on it but there's like cuz my dad does a feature there's one of my classmates spider kg does a feature he's also on Build Destroy but he also does a feature on this next project I'm working on and also shout out Nikki from Nikki and the barn boys is GNA on his next album amaz I'm so pumped to see her just taken over fact it it's it's it's it's a point of Pride for me because she and I go back to like seventh grade love it and and we were in we were in band and chorus together in high schol I love our masan making some amazing music exactly mashby taking over shout out Nikki shout out Nikki amazing she's got a new album that they are just uh rolling out and she's doing it single by single so I got so excited when it was just popping up on Facebook as like a background music you could choose and I was like oh there's Nikki I think she's graduating this year or did she already graduate I'm not sure she's graduated this year I can just ask yeah and I she's at Salem State where my daughter is also a freshman so I'm just I'm I'm excited to see not only are you getting your education but also you're making your music and growing that music with your new set of Education mhf wants to chat absolutely for sure all right so so this this project that we see in front of us right here you know that um so you know how similar to high school in college you do a senior thesis a senior study we called it a senior study at my school so this project was one piece of my senior study well you're an overachiever yeah yeah because there was that there was that one there's the there's the album that I'm being semi secretive about right now there was the thunderchild album that my dad dropped this June good and learn guitar for Yep this is stuff that I absolutely love when you see musicians trying out new Stu Vanna pachella was just saying how she had has been learning guitar and played it on a track that she had going on with her Trio I know your dad had just freshly started learning guitar and of course like his fres learning he's now three years in now's so good yeah it's just really incredible I remember when you first picked it up it it feels like yesterday doesn't sound like yesterday anymore though does it for real for real I mean he he like got really good really fast of course he did it was like insane overachieving musicians ridiculous yeah all right so where can we see you how do we support your music what's going on you put this thing together for your SC your project it's out alive it's it's it's it's it's out right now it's on band camp by by the end of this year all eight of the songs will be available on streaming and got a whole bunch of new stuff coming got the pro got the the the as of right now unnamed project I have a joint EP that I'm working on with JC hows called the The Gauntlet um helping my dad with his next project I've also got another solo thing in the works that'll be the followup to the thing that's currently in the in the oven right now Secrets there some I have plans that I cannot share with you right now because the haters will sabotage me I said I have plans that I cannot share with you right now because the haters will sabotage me talk to me about that statement right there oh that that's that's a quote that's a quotable from from from Omar Johnson who's who's a walking Meme and also a horrible person but but he you have a lot of people who are like horrible people awful people but they produce the the the Great quotables do you feel that you have to deal with horrible people in your daytoday in your space right now oh I mean I had to I had to recently excommunicate a horrible person be be beware be beware beware of Ruben Walton oh my God stay away from we're just we're just getting it all out there today man yeah yeah see you're in The Learning Experience right now I I am very much in The Learning Experience whatling adulthood that's a fact that's a fact I'm now at the point where I'm like three years in see age 20 was an interesting year for me because like a lot of stuff happened a lot of stuff happened you've been dealing with a lot of stuff period the last five years well yeah but see see yes and we're doing improv now so yes and there was like so like the period of like March 2023 to I mean really this past September was kind of just a lot personally professionally yes school like just all of it yes yeah yes I mean cuz also cuz like got her shut down that was like one of like a thousand things that happened like you know also like you know CU like I also a around August 2023 I got a car wreck you know I like then don't get in the situationships people don't do it don't do it don't do it don't do it that that was that was like waste of waste of fall of 2023 I love that you're so raw and open though because your age brackets is everything is happening right the whole world is going on right now and you're you're I feel like emotionally I can't remember but I do remember it being so overwhelming emotionally for me being in that 18 to 25 year bracket where you're just like everyone expects you to do things everybody expects you to have everything figured all out everybody expects you to be producing your college grad now you should be doing things and it's so overwhelming because you're like what am I I don't even know who I am what am I doing well it's it's the it's the ramping up of the of the overwhelming of the psyche that start at age 13 yeah they start cuz I mean cuz like 13 that's eighth grade right in eth grade what are they starting to that's when they start showing you all right this college board this uh this this thing this thing and this thing now stuff's going to start counting towards College college is not you know start looking at you know what's going on in ninth sometimes even eighth grade depending on the the school you know I feel like we as a society don't give us enough time to just marinate in what it is that we want to do or be or think we just have to be pushed into the program right you your entire your entire rest of your life is expected to hinge upon a decision that you make when you're 18 years old yeah these are things I did not learn until I was 40 that I had choices like0 it I could decide that let me tell you weird let me tell you what actually happens when you're 18 what actually happens when you're 18 is you have like the second so you first gain Consciousness around like two three four years old yeah your first mem you have like a second wakeup around age 18 that happens right that's the first wake up is when you're a baby the second wake up happens around when you're like 18 you're allowed to do stuff on your own without other people baby sitting also also also though your mindset just just like a shift just kind of happens sometimes it happens a little bit earlier sometimes it happens a little bit later and then some people it never happens cuz nothing ever happens but you you everybody has their part a shi but then a shift will take place and then what will then happen after the shift is one you start seeing certain things one you start actually thinking about things in a way that you never thought of them before and then also there are leading up to that point you start becoming privy to certain other things like you know how every family's got lore every family's got drama every family has um generational trauma and now when you're like you know 16 17 18 this is normally around when parents will start being like so this is why Uncle jimothy don't come to Thanksgiving anymore and or you're or this this this this this this this why this why we don't speak to we don't speak to Grandma anymore you start finding out that you're for example related to super villains yeah you know what I mean I know I can relate so so you're now I like that I'm going to use that though I'm related to a super villain I am so so at this at this point you're you're now maybe at most two years into absorbing this new reality yeah you know and get a lot of that in your age bracket but 18 and 25 I'm telling you exactly exactly it's just like all makes so much more sense and I'm telling you you have another one at 40 like what yep see I was I was told 25 and that's interesting quar life crisis yeah CU um my my partner's 25 and and has been telling me about what which what they've had in terms of like the the quarter life stuff and they're like oh wow I'm going to I'm going to be cuz uh her birthday is in like two months so they're going to be uh 26 this year and they're like oh my God I'm gonna be 30 in four years it doesn't slow down I'll tell you that it just speeds up it's like somebody puts it like somebody driving into a a building here on Cape Cod we forget where the gas is and all of a sudden it's just you're in a building it's that's what happens we're here now yep we in the building that's it not quite sure which building but we in the building then somebody call Triple A I don't even know how we got here in this conversation but I'm really enjoying the fact of this is where we're at right now so you've got a lot happening and you're sharing that in your music though you're putting it into something that's tangible that we can listen to and feel that I'm gonna plug something real quick yes March 25th 6 PM is when music starts we're at is me and JC house we're at the East Ham Library love that yep n 90 90 minutes of fire Crazy Fire Fire we had a moment this summer where you performed at the mashby farmers market and it was incredible it was incredible then your dad performed it was just amazing where all of a sudden people don't even know where the music is coming from and they're just coming out of the trees they're walking the right it's just really weird to have people like just come on it was like Harry and the Henderson's moment where everyone is drawn to this wooded area to just stare at you because it was so good that's right right yeah it's awesome Kelly says I love it it's like sitting by a campfire and listening to stories y exactly the lore that is this man right here and he's got a great show that you're going to be putting on in East ham that's right so you said it's going to be straight fire what exactly is it gonna be so JC and I are both rappers singers y so he's gonna he's gonna take the the first half of the night and he's GNA show y'all what he what he has musically and then we're gonna be showing off some of the stuff that we've been working on together love it and I might even for a couple of his songs hop on drum with him we might we might see that that was literally just an idea that we were throwing around on Wednesday but I'm like getting more and more into it as the days go by right because it just adds that layer of I don't know excitement it can only explain it if you've been through it if you've shown up at a show and uh just felt the vibe it's it's amazing facts right facts so what is the best way that we can report you follow your because music gives you that submersion right it's like you're underwat and you're in it exactly busy and and it's a it's a thing where I can kind of just control the vibe of the room yeah see I love I love I want to be able to S out people in music is the most effective method to do so we had a great meeting last night in AJ hey peny have you ever seen his comedy I don't think so walked into a room full of business individuals and it was like given a task of being funny you know what I mean like here you go let's get awkward real fast and he just sits in it man he like sits in it and just owns it and like doesn't care even when it's like a boo or an uncomfortable moment or whatever and he's just like in it see ultimately incredible to watch yeah cuz see what you want year comedian is a reaction whether it's a negative reaction or positive reaction still if you get a reaction that means you won because that means you moved somebody with what you had to say so like for example my my my mentor Shout Out alons 3 one of his favorite comedians is Andy Kaufman yeah I think Andy Kaufman is dumb as hell and not funny corny as hell but but see his whole thing is that he thrives off the off of the negative reaction yeah Andy Kaufman thrives off of the negative reaction what was it what we do in the shadows what's the other one that's the energy vampire that sucks all the life out of you're out there what is that feeling for you as a musician H what do you think that you're you're deriving from them well there are some moments when adrenaline feels nice see is that what it is it's the kind of kind of honestly because I'm always when I'm making music I was just talking with um with the provinc toown independent about this yeah when I'm making my music I am always thinking about ultimately performing it yeah you know when I even down to when I'm writing I'm thinking about all right will I be able to breathe while trying to do this or will I be able to like do something where I can catch my breath and be able to then like hit this note and hit this note you know what I mean interesting you know I'm thinking about that I'm thinking abouts of it yep yep really yep yep that's interesting it's it's all exteme it's all extremely calculated yeah and the it's kind of like swimming exactly exactly exactly I mean it's the same kind of thing where you need the breath control except right the breath count the tempo am i g to hit that wall am i g to make this turn am I GNA do this exactly so like you know the space in between certain lyrics where there's where I'm not actively rapping or if there's like a word that's like not as significant like if it's like an i or an and or something like that that's interesting I i' like just like and then get right back back into it I just never thought of it that way I was always curious what's you know what is in what's happening because it's not the same for everyone but you know you're watching this amazing performance and you're getting that adrenaline rush and you're feeling that beat and you're feeling that Vibe and I'm always wondering what's going on in there and now we know he's one two three in a very basic form y it's the count it's the math exact exactly exactly you gota um I think the live video that we got from my release party is still on there is on the um Instagram I'll try I'll find it and send it to you it's just very interesting to watch and I would love to you can kind of sometimes see when people's wheels are moving up there and what exactly it is but with you and when you're performing I can never quite tell I'm like what what what is happening I'm just so curious it's fun to watch I keep people on their toes keep guessing so that's how you pay attention right it's all a plan it's a master plan exactly that's why that's why especially you know when I'm performing I'm like tapping into something especially as I as I've like started to get more into more into performing yeah like especially during with stuff for this tour yeah I'm I'm like some some different awakens yeah some different awakens so I'm like that's why I'll sometimes be making crazy facial expressions and stuff while I'm yeah you really do it's it's pretty wild it's fun to watch though I appreciate it how are you making do with getting by you know being a musician is not exactly oh just here's a pile of money enjoy that like how are you surviving paying the bills making things work the business aspect of things is this a growing process are we emerging are we getting better with it yeah well in so terms of Getting By business wise I'm always shout out shout out local cultural Council shout out fouth cultural Council they're helping me put on um this this coming June I'm GNA be out on Main Street in fouth yeah I think it's important to talk about because being got to go out got to go out the grant funding and then also director of the chamber the money money needs to happen somewhere somebody needs to make money off of this art it it has to happen fact you know I mean it's like been through a lot of grant funding and also just like there I've like gotten lucky in some aspects with some of these shows that have you know had nice payouts because like now the group lados aren't able to you know get better yeah but I'm not one of those people that can go and watch a live anything without leaving a tip or showing up for them because I know how much it work goes into setting up and it's the hours that people don't see it's the hours that you spend lugging that equipment checking all of it rolling up wire making sure you're prepared and it's like that's not the fun or glamorous side of the business at all but it needs to happen to bring that moment the hours of soundcheck and making sure things are proper and then caring for all of that and then when things need to be replaced they need to be replaced or you can't make money so there's there's a lot that goes into these shows yeah and and this performance space that I think people forget sometimes even when you're negotiating a rate to play at a show where people are like well you know I know it's not that expensive for you to do it but they they're not paying for the back end and all the hours that went into making that possible yeah yeah if you if You' ever if you've ever Carri drum Hardware you should know especially what we're talking about volunteers people the Band-Aids if you will I mean you're all vital and so important and I think everybody that patronizes music because they get it but not everybody does and it's always nice to have that conversation of reminder that's right yeah that's right I know and we're so thankful for you sharing your gift with us on the show today thanks for
